Introduction

Purpose The goal is to build a prototype of a product that exceeds customer expectations of the current market and ultimately to secure more market share.

Project Scope The project must be completed in 12 months with a budget of $400,000 and will be designed strictly for household usage.

Executive Summary The company will design and build a refrigerator for household use by utilizing multiple vendors on a $400,000 budget. A working prototype will be completed 6 months into the project and the final prototype will be delivered at the 12-month mark. Stakeholders include Sears, researchers, product designers, suppliers, and focus groups.

Project Background and Objectives This project is ultimately being undertaken to secure more market share for Sears by delivering a product that exceeds customer expectations.

Scope Statement

Scope of this Project The company will produce a working prototype refrigerator designed for household use. The project will be completed within a 12 month time frame using the provided budget of $400,000. Mass production and marketing plans will not be developed by the project team.

Solution Overview The refrigerator specifications are as follows: ● 69 inches tall ● Have an overall capacity of 28 cu ft. ● Stainless steel finish ● Gallon capacity french doors ● Ice & water dispenser ● Touch screen temperature control ● Two freezer drawers with adjustable shelves and spacing ● LED refrigerator and freezer lighting ● Wheels for easy movement with childproof locks
