SELECTED HIGHLIGHTS
Established project controls for multiple large-scale projects totaling $3.5B+; achieved financial performance with minimal annual variance. Partnered with project teams to develop highly accurate cost projections, conduct systematic reviews of budget approvals for future project phases, and facilitate seamless overall project execution. Delivered estimated savings of $20M+ by averting a minimum four-week shutdown of all maintenance work for a project in Angola through improvement of cost forecast models and identification of a budget shortfall. Leveraged scope and cost knowledge to coordinate negotiation of a procure, construct, and install (PCI) contract, saving ~1% (or ~$7M) of PCI contract value; supported PCI contract management/administration. Developed an efficient manual process for tangible contract cost tracking that saved $1M+ over the life of a project by eliminating the need to implement the Ariba contract cost tracking system. Increased a finance team’s productivity by creating a streamlined cost management process that reduced time required to generate monthly cost and projection deliverables. Conducted regular analyses of project controls deliverables during project engineering and installation phases, determined causes of low productivity, and developed and implemented mitigation plans to restore high productivity levels. Earned a reputation as a subject matter expert (SME) on cost controls in several oil and gas sectors, including major capital projects, facilities engineering, and exploration drilling and completions.

Monitored and tracked a project budget and forecast of ~$1B. Was lauded by senior management for leading the only department with zero findings in the initial project audit, which was accomplished in part by introducing all-new cost controls procedures/processes. Defined a contract cost reporting procedure and report for the entire Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI) exploration program— there are currently 1,100+ contracts and purchase orders being manually tracked in this cost-effective report.
