Product Positioning

MDF (Main Distribution Frame) is the connection device between subscriber and exchange device. For ensure the signal is integrated, MDF products efficiently distribute, protect and management the network cables (copper cables). JPX01 product is among the Huawei’s MDF product series. It implements the termination and connection of external cables and exchange cables, to create a cable termination environment for ADSL or VDSL service. JPX01 MDF supply the following accessorial equipment:  protective unit, testing cord and disconnection plug, has the function of over-voltage and over-current protection, testing and controlling the lines connectivity. JPX01 MDF includes abundant types: double-sided frame and single-sided frame, meeting the scenario requirement of the inside environment; installed in the outdoor cabinet, meeting the scenario requirement of the outside environment. Product Introduction

JPX01 consists of frame, bracket, terminal block, protective unit and accessories (including IDC tool, testing cord, disconnection plug, labels and base).

2.1 Frame The frame supplies installation carrier for the bracket and terminal block. There are two models frame: double-sided frame and single-sided frame.

2.1.1 Double-sided Frame The cable side terminal blocks and exchange side terminal blocks are installed on the different sides of the double-sided frame. The cable side terminal block is vertically mounted on the front pillar and exchange side terminal block is horizontally mounted on the back beam. JPX01 double-sided frame has only one model available: JPX-F3D. The product naming rules: 

JPX: Mandatory product SN of MDF distribution product



F: Frame



3: The height is 2.2 m



D: The column quantity is 2

2.1.2 Single-sided Frame The cable side terminal blocks and exchange side terminal blocks are installed on the same side of the single-sided frame, mounted alternately from the left side. JPX01 single-sided frame has only one model available: JPX-SF3D. The product naming rules: 

The cable trough box on the bottom of the frame facilitates the layout of the cable. The layout of the cable is advisable and clear.



Enough space for layout of the cables, and the layout of the cables is orderly.

2.2 Bracket The bracket is used for installing the terminal block and fixing it on the frame. JPX01 bracket has two models available: JPX01-BRK-11 and JPX01-BRK-8. The product naming rules: 

Features  

The bracket for stainless steel is strong and durable. Each bracket has one grounding finger. To supply grounding protection, the grounding fingers belonged the same column are serial connection from beginning to end. The ground wire is led to the frame grounding bar from the ground terminal of the downmost  bracket.



JPX01-BRK-11 has 11 installation positions for blocks: the first one is used for installing the module label holder, the others is used for installing the terminal blocks.



JPX01-BRK-8 has 8 installation positions for blocks: the first one is used for installing the module label holder, the others is used for installing the terminal blocks.

2.3 Terminal Block Terminal blocks are the core parts for MDF. They create a cable termination environment for external cable, exchange cable and jumper. JPX01 terminal block has two models available: JPX01-BLK1-10K and JPX01-BLK1-10B. The product naming rules: 

JPX01: Product model SN for Huawei's MDF distribution product



BLK: Block



1: Product model SN for terminal block product



10: The capability is 10-pair



K: The IDC contact is switching contact; B: the IDC contact is disconnection contact

2.4 Protective Unit Protective unit is mainly used together with the cable side terminal block. It has over-voltage and over-current protection capacity to protect the backward switching device. JPX01  protective unit have two models available: JPX01-SPD1-G400T and JPX01-SPD1-G230F. The product naming rules: 

JPX01: Product model SN for Huawei's MDF distribution product



SPD: Surge protective device



1: Product model SN for protective unit product



G: Gas discharge tube



400: DC breakdown voltage is 400V; 230: DC breakdown voltage is 230V



T: Three point protection; F: Five point protection

2.5.1 IDC Tool IDC tool is used to clamp the cable into the spring plate or pull out the cable from the spring  plate, to implement cable connection or disconnection. JPX01 IDC tool only has one model available: JPX01-DXD. The product naming rules: 

DXD: Code name for Huawei's IDC tool product

Features 

After the wire is terminated, the redundant wires are automatically cut off.



Wire pulling-out hook and wire pressing-in fork equipped on the IDC tool can easily pull out and press in the wire.

2.5.2 Testing Cord The testing cord is used to lead the signal to test equipment, and test whether the signal  between ports is connected. JPX01 testing cord only has one model available: JPX01-TC. The product naming rules: 

Remove the protective unit before you used the testing cord.

A pair of red clips is connected to the internal line tester or telephone set; A pair of black clips is connected to the external line tester (e.g. ohmmeter).

One JPX01 disconnection plug disconnects one voice loop.

2.5.4 Labels The labels are use for identifying the information such as line order of block. The JPX01 labels include MDF label, module label holder, number flag and hinged label holder.

MDF Label The MDF label is used to identify the column of the cable side terminal block. Appearance of the JPX01 MDF label is shown in Figure 2-14. Figure 2-14 JPX01 MDF label

The features of JPX01 MDF label is following: 

Each frame matches 1 pcs MDF label automatically.



It is white words on blue background and self-adhesive.



It can be directly stuck to the corresponding groove of the identification board on top of the distribution frame.

Module Label Holder The module label holder is used to identify the block information of the total bracket. JPX01 module label holder has only one model available: JPX01-ML-10. The product naming rules: 

ML: Module label



10: Used for 10-pair terminal block

The features of JPX01 number flag are following: 

Each 100-pair terminal blocks match 1 pcs number flag automatically.



JPX01 number flag is installed in the one side of terminal block to identify the series number.

Hinged Label Holder The hinged label holder is used to identify each block information. JPX01 hinged label holder has only one model available: JPX01-NL-10. The product naming rules:   

JPX01: Product model SN for Huawei's MDF distribution product  NL: Number label 10: Used for 10-pair terminal block

The number flag and the hinged label holder are both used to identify the series number of each terminal  block. But they are suitable for different condition. 

The number flag could be used whether the block installed the protective unit.



The hinged label holder is only used for the block without protective unit.



They will not be used at one time.

The features of JPX01-NL-10 hinged label holder is following: 

Each terminal block matches 1 pcs hinged label holder.



JPX01-NL-10 is installed in front of the terminal block to identify the terminal block information.

The application of JPX01-NL-10 hinged label holder is shown in  Figure 2-20.

2.5.5 Base The base is optional parts. It is the support parts of ground-mount MDF. According the different subscriber requirement, we could change the height of MDF through adjusting the  base height. JPX01 MDF base and JPX202 base is common. They have four models available: JPX202-FD-DZA, JPX202-FD-DZB, JPX202-SFD-DZA, JPX202-SFD-DZB. The product naming rules: 

JPX202: Product model SN for Huawei's MDF distribution product



FD: 2-column frame; SFD: 2-column single frame



DZ: Code name for Huawei's base product



A, B: Product model SN for base product

Application Scenarios

JPX01 provides cable termination environment for the connection between the external cables and switching equipment. It cooperates with Huawei’s MA5600T to provide xDSL service.
