Practo.com – Online support tool for doctors to enable them to schedule appointments, maintain patient history and medical records, take care of billing and accounting, and send / receive reminders on the cloud. Some improvement suggestions: 1. Multiple doctors for single patient 2. More detailed analytics on modes of payment (cash / cheque / card) and outstanding amounts 3. Direct link to scanner / webcam for scan and upload, click and upload etc. for storing patient info 4. Different plans for different data storage limits on the cloud. 5. SMS Scheduler – send all reminder SMSs / Birthday wishes etc. automatically at xx.xx hrs. 6. Should have a “detailed settings” option in the calendar to include off days / holidays (will automatically reject appointments on those days with a manual option to override the rejection for emergency) 7. Should have option of setting different timings for different departments / branches 8. Manage Staff – add options of home address / alternate phone number & email id, and duty hours. Also add an option of auto-update of duty hours from shift schedule. Should have a scheduling page where all doctors / nurses / staff shift schedule and duty days can be managed and updated. 9. Expense settings – should have an option of payment reminder (on-screen pop-up / sms) on predetermined date / time.

10.For walk-in appointments the “send sms to patient” checkbox should not be auto-filled since the appointment has been concluded / is a walk-in and an sms to patient will not usually be required. 11.Automatic assignment of patient number and detailed settings for choosing numbering system (single code / multiple code e.g. first letter stands for category name, second number for patient number etc.) 12.Automatic filling in of treatment cost (with manual override option) and discount field. 13.Accounting – Should be able to view / print bill by clicking bill number. Also have the option of printing duplicate with “duplicate” appearing in the header / footer. 14.“Add Expense” should have options for bill number, service tax etc. and cash / bank payment, add bank account and cheque no. etc. Also consider integration of the account module with Tally so that it becomes more useful for professionally run clinics that use accounting software. 15.Analytics should show MTD / YTD comparison of income and expenses. Also, expense comparison by category and as % of income (e.g. electricity bill of June 2010 vs. June 2011, electricity bill as % of total income in June 2010 and June 2011, etc.) 16.Alert on overlapping appointments – auto-reject with manual over-ride option. 17.Profile page: Allow multiple “Practice Specialization” to be selected, add a window for promos. 18.Make calendar compatible with i-phone, blackberry and android 19.Power plans should enable higher number of users and appointments; multiple practice facility should be able to give combined results in analytics.
