PREFACE

The ensuing work presupposes a fair knowledge of occult semantics and at least some degree of familiarity with the meta­ physical world. As the word 'magic' itself tends to have con­ troversial overtones for the uninitiated - there still being people who associate it either with what are ignorantly referred to as the
