OCTOBER 2009 KODAK Point-of-Care CR 120/140 Systems Service Code: 3605/3607 LED Erase Lamp Change Background A new change is implemented to the KODAK Point-of-Care CR 120/140 Systems – the Erase LED assembly – which will replace the fluorescent erase la mps. The change is implemented in all systems with manufacturing date Oct 16, 2009 or later (date is indicated on the grey label at the back of the scanner).

The new Erase LED assembly includes the Erase LED module (including a build-in error indication circuit that replaces the previous erase lamps sensor board) and a W0 receiver – all integrated and cannot be separated. The HW change to the POC 120/140 Systems includes: • Removing: o Erase lamps assembly (including erase lamp sensor and W0 receiver) o Inverter assembly • Adding: o New Erase LED assembly How to distinguish between Fluorescent lamps and LED Assembly

Field Implications

For POC 120/140 Systems with fluorescent lamps: •

For lamps failure o

Option 1 – order SK000160 and replace erase lamps

o

Option 2 – order SK000180 and upgrade the system to LED module according to instructions in AT000193 (recommended)

For inverter failure o

Option 1 – order SK000159 and replace inverters

o

Option 2 – order SK000180 and upgrade the system to LED module according to instructions in AT000193 (recommended)

For erase lamp sensor failure o

•

Order and replace erase lamps sensor (no change)

For W0 sensor failure o

Order and replace W0 sensor (no change)

For POC 120/140 Systems with LED module: •

The integrated LED assembly includes the LED’s and W0 receiver. For any problem with any of these parts, order SK000180 and replace the assembly.

CAUTION: The Fluorescent lamps assembly contains mercury. Disposal of components containing this material may be regulated due to environmental considerations. For disposal or recycling information, contact your local authorities.
