Chain (ch): Insert hook, yarn over, pull loop through loop on hook. Decrease (dec): I prefer to use the “invisible” decrease. For this, insert hook into front loop of first stitch (from the front and under). Repeat into front loop of next stitch. Yarn over and pull loop through both loops on hook. Half double crochet (hdc): Yarn over, insert hook, yarn over, pull loop through stitch (there should be 3 loops on hook), yarn over, pull loop through all three loops on the hook. Increase (inc): Work two single crochets into the same stitch. Magic ring: Wrap yarn around fingers to form a loop. Insert hook through middle of loop. Pull working end of yarn through ring and chain the required number of stitches through. Pull the yarn ends to close the loop. Single crochet (sc): Insert hook, yarn over, pull loop through stitch (there should be 2 loops on hook), yarn over, pull loop through both loops on hook. Slip stitch (st): Insert hook, yarn over, pull loop through stitch and loop on hook.

After Rnd 13, embroider nose with pink embroidery thread. The bottom of the nose starts in the middle of the magic ring and goes across Rnd 1 to 3 and is four st wide at the top (Picture 1). I used black embroidery thread to outline the pink nose and sew a mouth, which sits between Rnd 2 and 3. Insert plastic safety eyes between Rnd 9 and 10, nine st apart (Picture 2). Before attaching the back of the plastic safety eyes, embroider eyelashes as seen in Picture 3. Once the eyelashes have been sewn on, you can then fasten the backs of the safety eyes.

ASSEMBLY 1.
Sew the body to the head with whip stitches. I like to mark the bottom of the head with pins first to outline where the body is to be attached (see Picture 5).
Pippin’s arms should be attached with her elbows (i.e. side where the hdc were stitched in Rnd 8) pointing down. Rnd 22
Pippin’s head is positioned such that she is looking up above.
Top of head Rnd 24
Rnd 21
The bottom corner of the arm should roughly align right above the top of her leg. The top (pink pin) and bottom (aqua pin) corners should be angled as shown.
I attach the back of the body such that it falls between Rnd 24 and 25 of the head (pink pins indicate top of head).
Underside of head
The sides of the body should fall ~between Rnd 22 and 23 of the head.
Picture 5
Sew the ears onto the top of Pippin’s head (Picture 6).
The outside corner of each ear should be attached between Rnd 17 and 18.
Rnd 17 5 st
The inside corner of each ear is attached between Rnd 18 and 19.
The top corner of her arm should be attached between Rnd 22 and 23, whilst the bottom corner to between Rnd 18 and 19.
Rnd 18
The front of the body falls between Rnd 21 and 22 of the head (aqua pins indicate underside of head).
2.
Sew the arms to either side of the body (Picture 8).
Picture 8 5.
I made a Pom Pom tail with the Rico Baby Cotton Soft DK in White using the Clover 1” / 25 mm Pom Pom maker. The Pom Pom tail was then attached between Rnd 9 and 10 at the back of Pippin’s body (Picture 9). If you do not have a Pom Pom maker, you can crochet a tail as described in the pattern previously. Stuff the tail lightly and sew to the back of the body such that the top of the tail sits between Rnd 11 and 12, whilst the bottom of the tail is attached between Rnd 8 and 9 (Picture 10).
The inside corners of the ears should be 5 st apart.
Picture 6
3.
Sew the legs to either side of the body (Picture 7). Picture 9
Attach the top corner of Pippin’s leg between Rnd 10 and 11 and the bottom corner of the leg between Rnd 6 and 7.
Rnd 12
I also make two extra stitches where indicated by the black lines s o that the legs sit snug against the sides o f her body.
Rnd 11
Rnd 6
The legs should be attached such that Pippin’s body is leaning slightly forward when sitting.

If you wish, you can place the amigurumi heart on the end of a skewer. Here, I cut a skewer to ~7.5” / 19 cm in length. You can leave the skewer as is but I wanted to match the colour of the skewer to that of the amigurumi heart. To do this, I wrapped the skewer in Washi or MT tape (Picture 11).
Picture 11 I then inserted the blunt end of the decorated skewer into the bottom of the heart (Picture 12) and inserted the sharp end into a stich on one of Pippin’s hands (Picture 13).

Your little Pippin is all done! We hope that you had fun making her ! ! We would love for you to share your creation with us!! (see how at start of pattern)
