TIME ALLOTMENT 60 minutes LESSON OUTLINE: 1. Instruction: Explaining learning objectives for the lesson (5 minutes) 2. Motivation: Watch a video (5minutes). PROCEDURE INSTRUCTION (5MINUTES) Learning objectives to the students, that by the end of the lesson, they should be able to: determine the definition of “Self”; identify their selves as a person; and clearly express their thought and feelings.

MOTIVATION (20 MINUTES) Are you human? Instruct the student to listen and watch the video. (Ted Talks-Ze Frank, Are you human?) After watch the video, ask the students regarding how they describe yourself as a person? And what they feel after watching the video? INSTRUCTION/DELIVERY (30 MINUTES) Defining the “Self” Lead a discussion by determining and high light the key points by the meaning of “Self” “Self” must be define first the concept, In philosophical terms, it is the being, which is the source of a person’s consciousness. It is the agent responsible for an individual thoughts and actions. B thoughts and actions.Based on this definition, the “Self” is an intangible entity that directs a person’s thoughts and actions. It is outside the physical realm of the person. The self is identified in a various context, such as in psychology, sociology or religion. The “self” is the essence of a person: his thoughts, feelings and actions, experiences, beliefs, values, principles and relationships. The self includes a person’s life purpose, meaning and aspirations. If the self is defined as the cognitive and affective representation of one’s identity, it is then defined in terms of human characteristic such as behavior and thought. In psychology, the term personality is referred to as the set of behaviors, feelings, thoughts and motives that identifies an individual. Personality is the essence of who we are and is the embodiment of one’s physical, psychological, cognitive, affective and spiritual self. Therefore, when we speak of the self, we will describe it in personality terms. EVALUATION (5 MINUTES) Watch a video regarding: Ted talks- Heltain Patel- How do we decide who we are? Make a reflection on How the concept of Self expressed or explained by Filipinos? Write your reflection in a one whole sheet of paper.
