PROLOGUE

The head of the Department of Perfect Couples, English Language Division, was about to lose his temper. - Now look what happened!

- He complained to his younger and

inexperienced recruits. - They're calling all angels-heads to a meeting at the Department of Cupids, and will discuss how is nowadays the novel. It is common knowledge that has greatly increased the number of people who refuse to fall in love and take loving commitments. If this continues like this, we will soon be closing its doors, and it will be a catastrophe. And the meeting had to be right now I'm busy with all the staff and I just prepare this list of ideal couple and need someone to organize the meetings ?! And I have yet to hold that pompous idiot Section Three keep telling me that managed to unite more couples than us. I have no one to make that New Job! - And I? Forgot to me? - The new assistant asked anxiously. - I can not charge me with this task? The head of the department watched carefully. He felt in him the natural enthusiasm of recruits. But enthusiasm alone was not enough, because a lot of experience in that case it was necessary. However, right now he was six couples to be formed and it was necessary to gather certain pairs so that they fall in love.

Reluctantly acknowledged that this time would have to ignore some requirements and accept without question what he was available. - Listen well, young man. We chose these people whose names are on this list to form new couples. Near they were observed, and our department made sure there was compatibility between each couple formed. The idea is to fall in love and do not separate ever. Everything was arranged, and can not leave anything wrong. What you have to do is make sure that each find one that supports it, all in the right place at the right time. You must follow my instructions exactly, without improvisations or shortcuts. Do you understand? - Yes sir. You can trust me. - The recruit was beaming with the mission that lay ahead. Once the boss left alone, the angel, in a fit of joy because I could finally prove their competence, gave a tailspin. Then, unable to contain himself, he threw the stack to the top, and even before all the papers reached the ground he wanted to pull your hair out. Horrified, I looked at the paperwork. When he could control the panic, he tried to join the pages. But the names have been organized as before? There was no swear that now formed couples were those that had been deemed compatible ... the perfect couple, anyway. Faced with two names. I would have to put your imagination to work to bring them together, and it was essential to follow to the letter the boss's instructions.

How could cause a meeting between those two creatures? Even for an angel, the task was not easy. Well, if that was his mission, then I had to start as soon as possible.

CHAPTER I

Maggie Russell looked discouraged for what he saw ahead. The path he had taken, choosing a secondary entrance, ended going nowhere. He began to experience headaches caused by tension of being so focused on direction. From the moment he had seen the Shopcutte notice of sale, a huge estate owned land, a Georgian mansion and several smaller houses, decided to purchase one of the houses in the area. He was sure that this was what I should do, since so wanted his grandmother, Arabella Russell, returned to be happy. Of course, nothing and no one could replace her grandfather to Arabella, but Maggie was convinced that if she became to live where he lived his first years of marriage, could put aside the great sorrow and enjoy the memories of that wonderful period. Today Arabella lived in Sussex, but had great memories of Shropshire County, which was located Shopcutte property. In those days I had not stayed in the main house, but in a smaller, it even had a name: Dower. Was newly married at the time, her husband had found employment within the same property and everything seemed perfect. The children even had been born there. Then they moved to other places and the year before, had bought a home in Sussex. Outside it the grandfather of Maggie died soon after.

Maggie wanted the grandmother returned to that place. It was a person who, when he decided something, faced any obstacles that appear. Therefore, he won in his career and had enough money to buy the Dower House. I could get away from London, where she herself lived, but would visit Arabella often. After all, Shropshire was not that far. Maggie grew up hearing stories about the county and their farms, but born in London and never thought to live in the country. It was a big city girl. Farms, mud, animals, farmers, none of this mattered. I lived in a very modern apartment had friends, all singles, too, and had set up his company where he worked as headhunter, or a hunter talent that walked the best job applicants for companies. I liked his way of living and wanted everything to continue as it was. However, the love that always felt by his grandparents was something special. They had created, providing you with a safe and full of love home when his parents separated. Now, he lost his grandfather, and saddened with the suffering grandmother. He feared that the old lady could not resist the nostalgia and also lost the taste for life. When read in the newspaper that Shopcutte was for sale, Maggie had encouraged. Everything would be sold at auction, from the main residence where had lived a count, into the countries and all the houses in the area, including one where his grandparents had lived. Maggie just made a decision and had set up on the way. Too bad I could not visit the castles of the surroundings, but was eager to arrive in time to participate in the auction.

At the beginning of the journey, the sky was very blue and cloudless. The rain had begun to fall suddenly, forcing her to greatly reduce the speed. At that moment, the sky is depicted almost black. The road was empty, which was not bad since it was narrow and full of curves. As a major road could be so precarious and without care? Could it be that he had taken the wrong way, choosing a side.

But Maggie does not make

mistakes, always used to do everything right. How had left the main road and pick up a shortcut? It was almost impossible, but, it seemed, had happened. Since her hair blonde to the tip of the toenails, it was Maggie sample of elegance. Cutting hair was perfect, her body, elegant, and aroused the envy of all her friends. There was some failure on your way to dress, comb her hair or live. Everyone respected, and no man, until then, be contrary. Your love life had not had great emotions, since Maggie decided to remain single and not risk following the same fate as their parents. And as never known any man to make her change her mind, remained free and satisfied only have to worry about their profession. Perhaps, deep down, Maggie wondered if it should be so immune to the loving emotions and physical desire experienced by other women, but she refused to allow herself to have those thoughts. And why should change his style if he was happy with everything he had? Sure, it would be much more pleased when she could cast off the Dower house and take her grandmother there. Then everything would be perfect.

- Oh no! I do not believe this! - He cried when the road tuned and she found herself in front of a sign that warned of crossing a shallow river. A river! Later, Maggie spotted a hill. That would be the main path? Irritated, Maggie began to slowly drive over the water. The engine made a strange noise, the left suddenly, half scared. It was when he saw emerge a kind of tidal wave, almost the height of the vehicle itself. For the first time since he was born, Maggie panicked. The car's wheels seemed to be stuck and would not budge, even when accelerated stronger. The car did not move, and approached remarkably quickly a huge wall of water.

Finn Gordon was not in the mood. The meeting that took part had taken to end, and now he came home in a bad time. Despite being entertained in your thoughts, he noticed a strange car parked in the middle of the river. And not only that, it seemed, the vehicle would be swallowed by the waters. Unwilling to rescue unwanted visitors, who had not been invited to enter their property, he decided to let themselves be arranjassem. Moreover, what kind of people try to cross a river during a storm at an inappropriate vehicle for that journey?

No she realized, slowed his Land Rover. Finn had made his fortune when worked in the British capital that it could ever get away from the financial world, where they had called a genius. We are tired of all that bustle and did not want to make a living in big city anymore. The lease of his farm would end in three months, and that was why he had decided to acquire Shopcutte property, which would go into auction in the coming days. I knew the house, land and other properties were separated into lots, but wanted everything to be yours. His idea was to keep it intact and Shopcutte ensure your privacy. That was very important to Finn.

Clearly all the excitement he had

experienced working for one of the most successful businessmen in the financial market was worth it, since it enriched and now had sufficient resources to take on this your new lifestyle and valuable Shopcutte. People who knew him when Finn had their twenties would be surprised to see the man he was now. Yes, I was ten years older. At that time, his business success opened the door to a world of rich people, models, a lot of money and drugs. But as soon discovered, it was a means ruled by greed and full of disloyal people. Finn could not get carried away by sex or by drugs, but others he knew had succumbed to all these dangers. Disenchanted with the environment in which he lived, Finn decided to quit everything after his friend died of an overdose. He could not get with drugged

women who ruined his life with addiction. There is only valued material wealth, and Finn realized he could no longer continue participating it. Maybe it was not being fair when he blamed the culture of the metropolis for all the sins of its inhabitants. However, felt the need to ask himself what he wanted for himself, and the answer was: peace provided by the simplicity in a cleaner environment, more natural. His mother grew up on a cattle ranch, and Finn had as much as her, like the countryside.

So did their plans, he assessed his fortune, which amounted to

millions. His bosses begged him to stay in the company, asking him to say how much I wanted to win because it would cover the amount that was. Finn, however, had made his decision. Have their own land would give him the opportunity to produce organic grains, raise livestock and increase their small herd of alpacas. Unlike Maggie, when he heard the sound of violent water approached the shallow part of the river, Finn brecou his Land Rover, cursing, because he considered dangerous to go through there, even with its powerful vehicle. At that moment, he saw the basket in the water and did not think anyone could have been so naive as to take on such a risky situation like that. The wave had reached to the middle of the vehicle and up. In a few minutes, would run the risk of disappearing in the river, and with it the blonde girl who was driving. Very angry, Finn called his Land Rover and started driving slowly through the turbulence. Even for him the journey was not easy, what irritated him even more.

Inside your car, Maggie could not believe what was happening to her. Things like that only happen to other people. How was it possible that she was now in the midst of a mighty river, whose level rose more and more? He tried to make the car run again. If he continued there could drown. But I had just seen a Land Rover coming your way and thought that maybe he was panicking for nothing. If that driver thought he could drive there also Maggie could. With determination, he turned again the key in the ignition. The Finn's jaw dropped at what his eyes saw. When he realized that the blonde driver tried to start the engine, he thought it was all a hallucination. What was she pretending? There was aware that the car was not going to catch? Carefully matched the Land Rover with another car and rolled down the window. Maggie saw what he was doing and just looked at him with an expression that Finn decided to ignore. He realized now that it was a city girl. Certainly came from London, which worsened his mood. He gestured for her to get off her glass. At first Maggie decided not to give a damn about that order, upset by the arrogance of the other driver. After all, a woman should never be talking to strangers. However, his car began to be pulled by the waters. - What do you think you're doing ?! - Finn shouted angrily when Maggie opened the window. - You are driving a car, not a submarine! - What I'm trying is to cross the river. - In this flood ?! - Finn could not hide the anger that dominated.

- There was flooding when I started crossing - Maggie retorted, also angry, but held his breath when the vehicle has to move. - You must get out. - Finn suspected that at any time the cart was covered by water, with driver and everything else inside him. If Maggie did not get out soon, I would panic, and the situation would be worse than it already was. - And how do you suggest I do that? - Maggie asked sarcastically. - Should I open the door and swim to your Jeep? - This is very dangerous because the current is very strong. You need to go out the window and try to get to me. I will get close enough to pass here. - What ?! Expected even though I ... - Maggie could not even find the right words. - I'm using an expensive clothes and a pair of Italian shoes, and I will not ruin them crawling from one car to another. Much less to yours, which is full of mud. Finn felt his blood pressure had risen with the fury he felt. Never known a woman who irritated both. - Well, if you stay where you are, you will not only lose your clothes or your Italian shoes, girl. You lose your life as well. And if you take out, I'll end up in a bad situation. You realize what you're doing? The Land Rover began to move, and Finn lost his temper altogether. - Move! Now!

And Maggie, without hesitation, began to try to go out the window. Within seconds Maggie felt two strong hands held her, pulling her into the Land Rover, as if she were a sack of potatoes. As his body was going into another vehicle, he felt his shoe left foot and disappeared in the current. Wasting no time in checking her out, her savior continued to cross the river, with some difficulty, resisting, however, the violence of the water. Maggie looked back just when his car disappeared. I was stunned and could not utter a single word. The driver of the Land Rover seemed not even to notice the shock she was. He made it to dry land and proceeded to go up a slope. "A few minutes more and this fool would have drowned," he was what he thought when he saw the Finn River devour the car Maggie. He turned his attention to the road that was muddy. - Can you let me in the city center - Maggie informed him coldly. Preferably in front of a shoe store, as I lost my ... I had no shoes or clothes or anything. Along with your car sunk baggage, carry-on bag, credit cards ... - In front of what ?! Where do you think you are? - On a road that will lead to Shrewsbury. I'm not in the Shropshire County? I looked at the map and saw that Shrewsbury is right in the middle of the county. I took the path that went there.

Now he watched her carefully. Maggie realized she had spoken nonsense. He should have been lost. - For your information, this is a private road that will give on a farm. In my farm! Maggie's eyes widened in surprise for committing as banal error. Just her, it was always sensible and tried to do everything perfectly. Finn noted, trying to evaluate one that flagrara failing. He had very dark brown hair, which needed an urgent court. There was hostility and anger in his eyes, and she found that the dislike was mutual. - I must have left the path at some point ... - Maggie tried not to let on that he had difficulty recognizing what had been wrong. - If you had not forced me to abandon my car and crawl through the mud until its certainly would've given a way to maneuver and get back on track and ... - What ?! - Finn by then was upset. - If he had not taken away, you could have died, girl! Maggie felt a tremor go through it from top to bottom at that. Despite knowing, deep down, he was right, did not want to acknowledge his mistake. Rather do as usual, focusing your main goal and ignoring everything else that was out of it. - How much can you take to the waters of the river baixarem? - Sought to change the subject. - How long must I wait? - Girl, a river like this can take days to return to normal!

People like that blonde did not know how it was to live outside the city, so it should have a little quiet.

They did not realize the dangers that nature had

sometimes, and acted like children who decide to cross the street without being aware that they can be run over. - Days? You may take days? - Maggie was scared. - How many? - It depends on. Last time we had flooding, it took more than a week. - A week ... - Maggie moaned, without trying to hide that was getting desperate. Since that road leading to the ranch that rude man at his side, the reality was one: I would have to spend one week of waiting with him! They reached the top of the hill, and Maggie looked back, seeing only the hood of his car was on the surface. It seemed that the car wrecked on the island in a tree and stopped sinking. The shock of having lived such a dangerous experience filled her with a sense of panic and anxiety. I was not used to such emotions. Your clothes, your cell phone, your bag with money and credit cards, all was lost. It depended on that strange that saved. To realize that the exasperated greatly. Rearview mirror, Finn watched the emotions that Maggie's eyes could not hide. He had lived in the metropolis and learned to recognize the feelings of the people by the look of them.

Besides, what would be making a woman of that kind in a place full of farms and cattle? She did not fit at all with it all. The right was in trouble. - If you know someone in Shrewsbury, you can use the phone back home he offered, sour to be making conversation with the woman as unfriendly. After all, what did he do? What a strange desire was that passing over the bad mood and became, without any logic, in a desperate desire to wrap her in his arms and kiss her ?! What was happening to him? He must have lost his mind completely. How could even dream ... imagine ... ... want to kiss her? He shook his head, trying to get away from time that absurd dark. - I'm not visiting friends here - Maggie replied, after all. Finn waited for her to explain what she was doing in the county, but as Maggie said no more, he felt even more annoyed. They seemed, the girl who saved intended to keep the distance of their savior. Maggie realized that Finn waited for her to explain why she had taken the Shropshire. Like a girl being called to answer to an adult! Well, what she was doing there was none of his business, and Maggie wanted to remain discreet as ever. Why should it be left explaining to that farmer, does not it? They passed some pastures, and Maggie spotted the farmhouse in the distance.

A small herd was grazing in the fields, and with the noise of the

approaching Land Rover, walked away from the fence.

- What are those animals?

Llamas?

- Maggie could not control his

curiosity. -. No Llamas are larger. Those are alpacas. I have a creation for wool. - Wool? - Maggie repeated, watching the herd and sympathizing with the animals of long neck that looked straight at her. - The Alpaca wool is highly valued and used in coats of famous couturiers. A sweater is extremely expensive these. I'm surprised you do not have one in your wardrobe. Maggie sighed at the irony of it. He made a huge effort to try not to tell you some shit, but Finn called the loud radio, and she would scream if he wanted to be heard. - It seems we're not the only ones to stand in the middle of this storm. They are saying ... - Thank you. No need to tell me what the speaker is reporting, because I'm not deaf. The estimate that the speaker had for everything to return to normal off six days, at least. Maggie regretted for not doing business over the phone. I did not personally be in the auction, and was willing to pay well for the property. Land Rover was on the path that led to the building of the ranch, and Maggie could see that there was a huge garden and ducks swimming in a lake. A very romantic scene for many people, but not for her. Even then, I had to live with an annoying man.

Finn turned to Maggie, with authoritarian airs. - Let one clear thing, girl: I am not satisfied with this situation as much as you. I was not me that methyl a stand in the middle of a river in full flood. Nor was I who took the wrong turn and ended up giving at all. - There was some flooding when I entered the river. The flood came suddenly, like supernatural work and ... - she stopped when would add that seemed evil of fate or action of some evil one. Of course I did not believe those nonsense. - Well, since you are the owner here, I should have placed a warning alerting drivers of the danger of crossing the river in that stretch. - As the road is private, it means that there is no need for it - Finn said with bad manners. - And how do you expect someone know the river is dangerous if there is no sign of warning? - Need not be a sign explaining it. Also need not be a sign at the entrance of my road, because anyone who can read a road guide will find that this road will go nowhere. - Finn took a deep breath, resigned. - Women! There is no one that can understand these guides? - I can read a guide very well! And I can read people better yet. You are surely the rudest, most arrogant and most annoying I've ever met! - The reverse is true! The two stopped talking, but the atmosphere was heavy. Maggie and Finn stared at each other, making it quite clear that the hostility felt for one another.

They hated himself, and would have to spend together a whole week!

CHAPTER II

Maggie finished talking on the phone with Gayle, his assistant. It was not easy to explain what had happened and ask him to cancel the credit cards. Never gone through anything like this before, and the wizard gaped to learn that Maggie lost documents. All of them! And the money, the car, the clothes. It was unbelievable. - I must ask you to send your cards where you're staying? - Gayle asked. - Best sending deliver them in Shrewsbury hotel. And when you report to the insurance company the automobile loss, ensure that put at my disposal a complimentary other. Maggie had not told Gayle exactly how things had happened. No details, just the essentials. I was using the room phone that Finn Gordon offered him. When he had finished giving instructions to Gayle, he decided to talk to his grandmother. She had not told her he planned to buy your old home. He said only that he would be traveling for a few days on business. The fragile voice Arabella Russell when he answered the call, Maggie left more concerned yet. - Are you all right, Grandma?

Maggie had left ajar bedroom door and did not realize that Finn, passing nearby, heard her talking so warmly. He pulled away quickly, not wanting to hear any confidential matter to his guest. She must have been talking to a man. He could not explain to himself why he bothered to discover that Maggie should have a lover and that was in loving conversation at that moment. They had made the necessary introductions moments before, with certain formality. Despite feeling annoyed at everything that had until then, the fact was that Maggie disturbed. Finn tried to remember who had never liked blondes, who always preferred brunettes. With blue eyes, not brown, as Maggie. But even so, the image of his unexpected guest came back into his memory, and he sighed.

When he finished speaking with her grandmother, Maggie began to examine the room, which, to his relief, it was a suite. The windows looked out over the fields, and Maggie watched the sunset. What was he doing there, so away from any more civilized place? And no point in staying complaining, because I could not get out while the river not baixassem. It would be a test and both for your patience. He remembered how Finn had laughed when she asked to use your computer and send a message to Gayle.

- Who said you have? - Finn had replied. - I prefer to choose who I let into my life. With this, it made it clear that it was against the advances of technology. Maggie had been stunned. Who did not have a computer today? Finn Gordon was certainly a caveman. And she had the misfortune to cross his path, and now would have to support it for many days, perhaps a week. Never known a guy for whom felt so dislike or who lived so differently it so ... Finn was in the kitchen, listening to the radio announcer report the weather. Until then no one had given a reasonable explanation of why the storm being so located and reached only a small area. In fact only been hit Finn Ranch area, and the damage was great. Everything seemed pretty odd ... Finn waited for the river waters go down soon, in order to be present at Shopcutte property auction. I could make telephone bids, but rather go there and see the face of competitors measuring their strengths and weaknesses. Not that I expected to find many people interested in Shopcutte. Everything would be auctioned in different lots, and he wanted to get it all to not have to share the area with unknown solve that live there or were spending the holidays in the countryside, disturbing their tranquility. All she wanted was ... That's when Maggie turned the knob and entered. He had taken off his coat, and her silk blouse revealed the lines of her full breasts. Finn was surprised because, as Maggie was the delicate kind, one would expect that her breasts were small. Seeing her in her rustic kitchen using a silk blouse, gold earrings and an

elegant cut skirt reinforced his idea that there was a girl who was not born to live on a farm. - Do not say a word, but ... - Maggie noticed the ironic look of Finn. - Otherwise what? - Finn laughed. - You will throw his shoe at me? What the Italians?

Ah! They, no ... I forgot that sank in the river along with his

moderninho car. - I'm not a silly immature. - Maggie almost gritted teeth, such anger. - Never lose your cool. Do not let myself get involved by strong emotions. - Even when you're in the arms of her lover? It must be a disappointment to him. Maggie could hardly believe her ears. Like that disqualified dared to comment on your personal life? Even so, he decided to answer it: - I have no lover. Finn was silent. I knew she was lying, because he had heard talking about a very loving way to someone on the phone. In fact, Maggie gathered everything he despised and it was normal part of the personality of a big city girl. Known women like that and left behind, and the bustle and superficiality that experienced before. Why then he felt annoyed at Maggie lying and could not take her eyes? He had been with the most beautiful and sexiest girls. What had to do was stay away from her.

So why this absurd desire to hug her and kiss her often? - Will keep the animals because it's already dusk. If you want to eat something, you can take the refrigerator. Maggie was not used to this lack of hospitality. She would have to make do on their own, looking for food if were hungry, not expecting him to keep him company? Was it? That rudeness ... He sighed wearily. Could be working at the time, had she not had the sad idea of venturing down the field wanting to personally participate in an auction. Now was far from all, in a secluded place by a river overflowing and having to put up with a guy impolite. A lob. Not only this, he would have to eat alone, and who knows what. Maggie had a refrigerator in her apartment, but never cooked. There could cook very well, because her grandmother always wanted her to devote so-only to studies and leave the food for her business. Well, better would swallow anything now and then retire to the guest room. And stay there. If God help, the river would be down the next morning, and she could leave the farm and touch your life forward. He went around the room and stopped beside a huge table full of books and papers. A yellow cat take a nap lying on an old chair. Maggie decided to stop to examine the environment because began to remember the childhood days, after his parents had separated. He stayed with his mother, who every new boyfriend was moving to be near him, and when the romance ended, left, dragging with Maggie.

This kind of daily life always aroused in people the desire for stability and to engage in a loving lasting relationship. Maggie had given up otherwise. He increased the desire to be independent. I did not want to need anyone, not settling on a home. The residence Finn awakened her memories of those difficult times of constant change, and that does not pleased. Nothing had created for itself was permanent. Everything looked like it: organized, bright, well planned and always controlled. However, at least Maggie was well most of the time. He looked at his bare feet and her elegant attire. I never was barefoot, not even when in her apartment. Being barefoot was a kind of sign of poverty, vulnerability, and it all was able to make her feel weak and afraid. It ended with anger so. She shook her hair, determined to feed. I was getting too thoughtful. She opened the refrigerator, opened his eyes wide in surprise. Finn entered the back and pulled off his boots. The land out there found himself all full of mud due mainly to the rain that had fallen so hard that day. Save the animals had become such a laborious task that he almost gave up, tempted to leave them at the mercy of the fox who made frequent visits to the paddock. In the end, his generous spirit prompted him to save all the animals, putting them safe. At that moment, I was cold and hungry, and all the tribulations that afternoon prevented him from making the chilli had planned for dinner that night. I

had to sit at the table and work in their roles, and felt if not very willing for this task. Maybe it was easier to let go of your ideas against modern technology and soon bought a computer. At least that would make your job a lot easier. To kick your muddy boots, Maggie noticed looking in amazement to the refrigerator. - What's wrong with my food? - He approached her. - All there is here is raw - Maggie replied, annoyed. As a Finn, she was hungry and had been hoping to find a ready tasty Comidinha. At least one pizza waiting for you, what the hell! - What did you expect? We are on a ranch, not a supermarket. We live at the beginning of the food chain, not at the end. - But everything here is to be prepared - Maggie protested with a size of air contempt Finn wanted to shake her. - Look, lady, you can stop thinking you are in a grand fine restaurant. And logical that everything here needs to go to the pan and into the fire. - You want to know? I lost my appetite. - Maggie shut the refrigerator, leaving Finn shocked. - Must be the same without hunger. The right is used to be satisfied with just a few lettuce leaves.

Maggie could not say what caused more anger you, if the contempt it to your body type or your modern woman style. - Well, you can not be hungry, but I am. - It was the turn of Finn open the fridge. Maggie was very close to him, and this proximity made her feel his manhood, which disturbed. What was happening to her? Never out of those who let themselves be only affect to watch a young and male. And as someone with dark brown hair could have such blue eyes? - Change your mind? - Finn asked, seeing that she had not left the kitchen. - What? I ... - Maggie was confused with his conjectures. Finn was a very handsome man, and she just did not recognize it before because the thought too unsympathetic. - You look hungry, baby. What ?! Maggie felt her face burning, thinking that Finn realized that she had been physically analyze it and to feel attracted by his manly type. But no. He had asked the question without any malice. And after all, what was happening to her? His thoughts were absurd, out of the question. Still, at that moment it looked, separated only by the refrigerator, Maggie was taken by a feeling unknown to him until then. He became aware that he was beside such an attractive man who aroused in her erotic sensations. She blushed even more, not knowing how to act or what to say. Never before even imagined or dreamed of such desires, which now invaded his body. It was

like an outsider, someone invisible was causing her to see Finn in a different light: as a man wanted for himself.

Finn squinted to see Maggie popping it. Maggie had put up breathing with some difficulty, her breasts followed his troubled breathing, and he could not help but notice all her femininity. Maggie could never assume that what Finn wanted right now was to get closer to her and hold her and ... With enough effort, he controlled himself and took two steps back. - I intend to prepare a chilli for my dinner, and I'll have enough for both of us. At heart, Finn wanted Maggie refused to do the meal with him. Why accept, as his host was arrogant to that point? - You will prepare dinner using this outfit? - Maggie had determined to take control of the situation and go back to being herself. -. I will take a bath and will trade me while you can start preparing everything. - He handed her a platter. - Will not be long. Not knowing what to do, Maggie watched the canister he had given her and opened it with some care.

What should have told Finn before it was was that he had not been born to be a cook from anyone and he that made your own dinner. But having lost the opportunity to put it in place, he found himself before the inevitable: he would have to try cooking. There was no chance at all to admit to Finn that he had no idea how to prepare chilli. Anyway, it should not be that hard. Maggie remembered that her grandmother turns cooking so often! I was just put everything in a pot and ... He tried to remember what your grandmother did and almost felt again the smell of tasty food she prepared it. Remember Arabella was easy ... but the steps she was still preparing the dishes was more difficult. Maggie decided to trust that know what to do. I had to do well in front of that exasperating farmer. The first thing was to choose a pan and put it on fire. But where were the pots? Spotted them in a closet on the other side. Ah, men! Always following its own rules and forgetting logic. The cabinet should stand beside the stove! He chose a pot and poured the contents of her mischievous Finn had given him. He started the fire and waited for the food to be ready. Upstairs, in his room, Finn chose a clean shirt to cover his bare chest. I did not know why he felt he needed to dress better and shave. But would do so. A certain smell began to invade the air. Finn felt a chill down his spine. There was the smell of something delicious being prepared, but something burning.

Without bothering to wear the shirt, ran out of the room. In the kitchen, Maggie could not quite understand what was happening. A smokescreen invaded the whole environment, and a terrible smell of burning thing was spreading through the house. Arabella turns make the food in just minutes, and even then, never burned anything. He came with stove care, and would raise the pot lid to see what was going on when Finn came like a hurricane. - What's going on here ?! - And, immediately, she took the pan from the heat and took it to the sink, looking disgusted for what should be your meal. - I have no guilt if your stove is faulty and burning everything. - My stove! - Finn said, irritated. - There is nothing wrong with it, but with the cook. Why not put a little water in the mix? As I thought it was going to cook without any liquid? Maggie swallowed. I should have put water. He tried to assume an air blasé, but he knew he had done the right thing. - You put water, not put? - Finn refused to believe that she did not thought it was necessary. Maggie has to swallow. Her grandmother always told her not to lie, but now would not ugly if I told one lie ... - Put or not put water ?!

- Clearly we learned to cook at different schools - Maggie tried to speak naturally. - Oh yes? You do not even make sense of how food, right? Also can not imagine how to read a road guide. After all, what else can not do ?! - Stop this. - Maggie was surprised because he realized that his voice was a lament, like burst into tears the next few minutes. - I'm sorry ... Maggie would have run away and hid in the room if his eyes were not full of tears. No doubt because it went wrong exit and ended the Finn's arms.

CHAPTER III

- I'm sorry. I did not mean to hurt her. - Finn, embarrassed, arranged the silken strands of Maggie that fell on his face. As his fingers touched that soft skin, she wanted to stroke her delicate neck, who probably would fit in his huge hands. - You do not hurt me. - Maggie could not stop staring at him. It was as if, suddenly, they had no forces to stop to look at, as if a mysterious forces were uniting in some way. - I'll get something to eat. - Finn knew he should let her go, but had no desire to do so. It was great to have Maggie beside him. - I'm not hungry for food. The need is you, only you, Finn. "Jesus! What am I doing?" What is Maggie knew that the best place you could be was in the arms of the man, who was almost a stranger to her. Finn tried to act with common sense, trying not to give in to the call of those tempting eyes but felt his strength failing, as the brakes of Maggie's car at the time of the flood. Their lips met in a kiss that started shy, each exploring the lips of the other, but when Maggie came over his body, leaving yourself in completely by Finn, the passion began to dominate both. Her breathing became faster, and Finn moaned with pleasure.

- Kiss Me, Finn. Kiss me real this time. - And so do you want? - And he pulled her closer. They exchanged quick kisses, as if there controlassem their emotions and were hungry each other. Gradually, the kisses were getting more and longer. Maggie kept closed eyelids, savoring the delight of feeling the Finn having its mouth. I never experienced anything as sensual as those kisses that aroused his guts to a world of unparalleled sensations. The mere brush of Finn's fingers on his back caused an aphrodisiac effect on Maggie, making her think about things, want things, want the man with the strongest female urgency. Wanted new caresses, new pleasures and, even though he might have taken the initiative of these close contacts, the reality showed that Finn will allow your body to take control, with extreme passion, that libidinous time. Maggie invaded his tongue Finn's mouth. He felt that he trembled with delight, and pressed more. - Stop now if you are in any doubt - he whispered in her ear. His pupils sparkled, waiting for the answer. - I have no doubt. - Just what Maggie wanted to feel again the Finn's lips on hers. Finn, however, let go for a moment, looking around. He took Maggie's hand fondly and led her up the stairs that would in his room.

Maggie followed him in silence and, upon entering the room furnished simply thought that in other times would find fault in the decoration. Not now. I was pleased that the bed be huge because it would nest the voluptuousness of the two. The air in the room was cold, and Maggie shivered. Looking at her, Finn remembered as thought the cold place while she slept for the first time there. The house had no heating, but he was used to the lack of modern appliances. Maggie shuddered again and sought the Finn heat. As they kissed, he was warming up. He has to shake, but this time because your muscles came to hurt, such the need to deliver completely the act of love. Unable to resist temptation, Finn started playing Maggie's breasts. The nipples were turgid, and the Finn pressed against his palms. The silk blouse still kept them covered, but it was like they await be stripped and touched. Maggie had forgotten that had always considered a cold woman. As that taken by the fever, she slid her fingers over the bare back of Finn. I want to see it in detail, touch it all. And I wanted it to be longer. Inadvertently discovered that he reacted each time brushed his hand on his rough skin. So it was down cuddling, reaching the jeans belt he wore. Finn took a deep breath and looked at her mad. Then began to unbutton her blouse, and she felt at that second, maybe not resist the many delights. The rub on your skin caused his breathing became increasingly ragged.

When pulled her blouse and could see Maggie's breasts, Finn became aware of what was happening to him at that moment went against everything he believed in. Its projects, its previous decisions, it passed into the background. What else wanted was the woman who had with him, half naked, wanting him to take her. The atmosphere was filled with an unparalleled sensuality. Finn brought his lips to bare breasts Maggie, first kissing one of them, then the other. Maggie moaned softly, and his body sought the Finn for further rapprochement. It was too much for him. Fast, he took the rest of her clothes and pulled his own, looking back his body to meet that soft and irresistible skin. If Maggie had returned to feel cold when he took his clothes, now returned to feel the heat of his mouth, he was looking for more intimate parts of his anatomy. Maggie groaned when pulled, causing a perfect fit her hips to his. - Finn! - He cried as he kissed his chest to finally let his lips came together in a scorching kiss. - Now! Has me now, Finn! The moment was magical, as the force of the river in full flood, the sun's heat on a tropical beach, the incredible clarity of the sky falling snow. It was as if all the happy moments that Maggie had lived were multiplied a million times. Finn gave him a joy and emotion so intense that Maggie felt her eyes filled with tears, and her mouth went out words of love. The sexual act was for her a statement. A revelation, too, because that world that refused to believe he could exist there. The reason was Finn and was love.

And when it reached the climax, just let himself be at peace in his arms. Maggie stroked the face of him who had given him so much pleasure. Finn smiled, bringing her fingers to her lips. - I love you ... - Maggie whispered. Only after saying this was that Maggie was surprised to want to have said nothing. He wanted his words back. She felt vulnerable after having confessed his feelings. He tried to get away from Finn, but he did not allow. - What happened, Maggie? What is wrong? - Nothing - he lied, lowering her eyelashes, afraid to look at him and reveal what he thought. - Of course there is. He is angry because he said he loves me. - Is not that - Maggie shook firmly, but it was clear that Finn did not believe the negative thereof. - I do not know why I said that. She tried to cover herself with the sheet. - I must be having an adolescent reaction, because we ... - Because we love? - Finn sought to complete the interrupted sentence. That's what is trying to talk? Maggie shook her head. Not thought to say "love" but "sex". They had had sex in reality. He said nothing, however, because the look of Finn seemed to be passing him the message that was wrong.

- We're both adults, Maggie. Why would it be difficult for us to use the word "love" to express what we just did? What happened between us was love, and deny it ... - But hardly know each other! We can not. - We can not what? - Finn challenged. - To say that we fall in love at first sight, even if it is the truth? We can not mention this feeling just because just met? It is not correct to show that love each other and we do this? - Finn was approaching her, wrapping her in a tight hug, leaving her breathless. - I do not know what's going on with us, Maggie, but ... - But what? - Now we can do this ... and this ... - Finn began to kiss her, as her fingers roamed the body of Maggie. Delighted, Maggie closed her eyes, moaning, resigned. There would be time later to analyze everything and take back control of his actions. Now, however ... All that Maggie wanted was caressing Finn as he was stroking.

A triumphant smile appeared on Maggie's lips when he took the pot from the stove and felt a delicious aroma coming out of it. For dinner would eat chicken wine, thanks to cookbook that had found in one of the kitchen cabinet drawers.

I was once again thinking of Finn. He would later regret having been foolish for letting involve both by one person. At that moment, however, he allowed his image populating his thoughts and his body remembered the touch of his fingers. He sighed, smiling. A few days earlier, I did not even know of his existence. Then she met him, and could have walked away from him and lived in absolute normality. But now, now ... He smiled again, recognizing that his emotions were too strong to be ignored. I still felt frightened by how quickly everything happened between the two. I never imagined that anyone could fall in love so quickly. He tried to remind herself that she could not act as had been acting in recent days, allowing your emotions to controlassem, instead of being rational. Then he remembered Finn and away all logic. In fact, it was as if in a state of enchantment. And somehow, without well knowing how, and even going against rationality that cultivated until then, she had left Finn convince her that what they felt for each other was something wonderfully special to be put aside. They were in love. Lived whispering sweet nothings to each other, always seeking to express the passion they felt, they reached the maximum of sexual pleasure together. They loved each other, that was all. Maggie had left that refuge where he lived avoid strong emotions, reaching to catch up making plans ... That morning, upon awakening, he had with Finn sitting beside her, watching her fondly.

- What happened? What are you doing? - She asked, still sleepy, running her hand over the rough face and unshaven. - I was admiring you. - He smiled. - Did you know that wrinkles her nose when you're sleeping? - Do not do any of that - denied petulantly. - Does, yes. And entreabre lips a little, such a tempting way that makes me want to kiss her. - He kissed me so many times ... still wanting more? - I will never tire of kissing her, not looking at her, asleep or awake. I never will satisfy me of you. You want me to prove that I'm being frank? Laughing, she pretended to be trying to escape from it, but eventually left to embrace. - I already know well. - Finn had looked at her so that Maggie felt a delicious sense of anticipation. - I know what you feel when I touch you here ... And caressed one of Maggie's breasts, squeezing her nipple lightly. It was already ten o'clock when at last decided to get up. A very bad time for a farmer should be early riser. Finn had left rushed to care for the animals, while Maggie had ventured into the kitchen. He replaced the pan with the chicken on the stove, while the radio announced that the river had begun to fall and there was no forecast of rain for the next days.

She was relieved at the news because it could attend the expected auction would happen soon. Preparing chicken, Maggie dreamed. The farm was only rented as Finn said, which meant that he was free to be able to return to the city with her. Closing the oven door, she decided that since Finn was no longer so young, should have had no money even to buy a ranch and had just renting one. It would be a lack of ambition? If it were so, there was still time for Maggie change it ... Finn was smart and should have qualifications to get a good job in a metropolis. Moreover, he knew many people who would help her find a good placement for Finn. While he earned little, she would not mind to support him, even if it could cross him. It would also have to take him to a good men's clothing store and pick him a very elegant suit. And do you know the best restaurants before you introduce your friends. Maggie was excited with their goals. They would be married in a discreet but elegant ceremony. Thanks to his grandmother, still believed in marriage, and thought that a couple who loved was to unite the sacred ties. Would the moon-of-honey in a very romantic place and would have fun remembering the curious way they had first seen. It is found so amused with such reveries did not realize that Finn entered the kitchen. Taking the boots, he stood for a few seconds looking at Maggie.

Or he believed they met was only four days and at first had found the most unpleasant young woman on the planet. Laughing, he wrapped his arms around the fragile body of Maggie, kissing her on the neck. - Um ... something smells very well here. - It is my Perfume - Maggie decided to pretend it had not been entertained in a culinary experience. - You always smells delicious, honey. Only now that I am referring to what is inside the oven. Maggie made a pout offended, but happily cuddled up in his arms. - I heard on the radio that the river is returning to normal, Finn. - Yeah I know. Also I heard. Still staring at him with languor, Maggie tried to remember who had things to do. Should, for example, speak to Arabella, who did not communicate some days. Also I had to call Gayle informing her that she would soon be back to activities. It did not seem at all easy to have to tell his grandmother what had happened to him. After all, Arabella could find that her granddaughter had been too moderninha and wounded some moral values. Maggie wanted to tell you everything, but when they were together.

It could be considered normal in modern times that a young make love to a man who was found just a few hours, but explain this to an old lady was not the same. Finn noticed when Maggie's eyes darkened, as if she was worried about something. He could not help but remember to have heard her speak fondly with someone on the day he arrived, and he, at the time, just be imagined conversation between lovers. I could not help but be disturbed by the fact that it might not be the only man in Maggie's life, now that he knew so intimately. Should be frank with her, for the love he felt demanded it. What would happen when told he knew Maggie had someone? Maybe ... - Finn? May I use your phone? I need to talk to a person. - Maggie realized that Finn pursed his lips, as if through boring. - Is someone special? The only desire he had was that it opened up, telling facts of his life, for what were enjoying together was too important for them to keep secrets from each other. Maggie tensed for a moment. In fact his grandmother was a special person, but he was not ready to talk about Arabella Russell with Finn and explain how living trying to make her grandmother again be happy. There was still a kind of barrier preventing did these confidences, even when in love. - I need to talk to my assistant. - It was a half-lie.

Finn realized in the act that Maggie was hiding something from him and prayed that I could tell you about it later. Confused, Maggie waited for Finn answered. Why this simple request to use the phone caused you a concern crease between the eyebrows? Finn waited, but Maggie gave no further explanation of the connection I wanted to do. So it was up to him to put the cards on the table and tell Maggie what he expected of a loving relationship. Not accept an open relationship, he considered the indispensable part fidelity of commitment between two people who loved each other. I knew that taking such a decision, was making a dangerous move, not only because there should be another man in her heart as it was still very short time they were together. However, he loved her, and it gave him the right to take such an initiative. He hoped that Maggie knew what he wanted to hear, his guard and was frank. He took a deep breath, held her by the shoulders, with gentle firmness, and stared at her. - Before you do something and talk to someone, there's something you'd like to say is that never before told any woman. Finn hesitated, and Maggie tried to guess what it was. I was impatient to call Gayle and say no more rain, the river waters were dropping and she could return soon to London. On power, would talk to Finn about the plans he had made for

them. That meant that both would be back to the big city and then begin the project a wonderful life that lay ahead. - Yes? - He asked curiously. It should not be a declaration of love he was going to do because they had already said that they loved each other numerous times. - I want to ask you to move here - Finn muttered. You could see that Maggie had been espantadíssima and felt a chill in the heart. Disillusionment espicaçava his soul. - Maggie? She continued, however, in deep stillness. - I know you're used to the capital, which has its commitments ... - Finn looked away, fearing that Maggie found out what he was thinking. She has spoken to him about his business, about his hunting talent agency and, somehow, Finn managed to hide the contempt he felt for this style, which brought him so bad memories. For a moment, Maggie came to think that Finn was just teasing her when you make that suggestion, but suddenly he realized that he was serious. A slight dizziness befell the. Was panic-making, fear and anger, all substituting for a moment, the great love I had for Finn. It was like suffering a betrayal, a shock and an abandonment to the fantastic world that idealized, that would be one where the two would live together.

- Switch me to the ranch? That's impossible! - Finally managed to speak, shaking his head and turning away from his arms. - How can at least imagine such a thing ?! Maggie stopped, looked the kitchen and then went back to look at him, unable to verbalize all their wonder at his proposal. - Why? - Finn asked coldly. However, already knew the answer, even making sure that Maggie would not be sincere about to speak the whole truth. After all, she had another man, and know that tormented him. He expected her to tell her about the lover, but Maggie had not made any reference about it. Finn tried to forgive her for not being honest. Maggie continued to demonstrate the love she felt for him, without making her confidences. For the first time Finn had to admit that she could not contain her own feelings, not stop loving a person who was engaged to another. To say that she loved him, Maggie had to be lying. When Finn asked her she would live with him, he refused because his other commitment was too important. I would not confess anything like that, though. And that made her a liar? All because he was unable to confess that despite the moments of love they had shared, none of this would be enough to let the lover who also loved? Where, after all, he thought lived? On another planet?

Maggie should have been just a flirtation, just a few days of sexual arousal, a novelty to make love to a stranger. That was all. Finn has been with girls like that, in the past. In those days, I felt sorry for them because they are letting out something very important: love. The ironic thing was that now had fallen in love with someone just the same. He waited for a moment that Maggie was not so. One minute she would tell everything about yourself, about your feelings. He then could regret having been so cynical and thought so badly of her. For its part, Maggie was still dazed. As Finn had been able to dream that she could live on that farm ?! He was angry to see all your sensational purposes of future going down the drain. And he was not sorry for having made a request as absurd, and something in his face seemed to say that he thought she was to blame. If Finn loved in fact, as already stated at length, I should know that Maggie never would live on a farm. Finn felt the weight of disappointment, and a great bitterness took the place of joy before. His irises were covered in a dark cloud, and he narrowed his lips, determined to be honest: - You're right. What had planned to do, Maggie? Disappear without saying goodbye or thank me for letting loved her? I should have remembered that a big city girl likes to have their aventurazinhas here and there, especially when you're traveling. Well, before you leave, baby, I must give you something that will make her remember me.

Before Maggie could move away, Finn pressed against the kitchen wall and began to kiss her savagely, fleeing the social rules and revealing without subterfuge, his desire and his anger. Despite knowing it was wrong, Maggie surrendered to the desire to have that rude man clinging to your skin. He opened his mouth, receiving and returning his kiss, seeking his body with their eager hands. He tried to break free, pummeling him with her little fists. The Finn weight kept her captive, and Maggie surrendered, resigned, hoping both finished consumed by the flame of hatred they felt for each other. She hated him and wanted him at the same time. Intended to destroy it even when what was most longed to have him enveloping her, making her his prisoner. I wanted Finn also was his prisoner, destroying his strength and turning it into someone who could master. Finn wanted to want her so much ... Finn let go, making it clear that rejected his passion. It was he who broke the silence, speaking in a voice devoid of emotion that made her feel so vulnerable that her eyes filled with tears. - I do not know which of us I despise more. - This morning you told me you loved me, and now ... - Maggie managed to mumble. - I was not love, dear. It is known what was there, but that feeling is like love as a demon looks like an angel.

Only he knew how cost deny what was in her chest and put the pride and the reality in front of the love he felt, and vowed never to destroy. Fearing what could he say, Maggie turned and walked away running. He fled the man she loved.

CHAPTER IV

Maggie had never imagined that Shrewsbury was such a busy city. Finn's farm had left in a taxi and gone straight to the hotel in which reserved a room before leaving London. The hotel was good, and everyone there was so friendly when Maggie had to ask them to pay for their race, because I had not a single penny. His assistant, Gayle, however, had already made all the arrangements and, shortly after, was not only with cash in hand as with credit cards, a rental car and ready to participate in the auction. I wanted to give closed that period of his life, but all the time was remembering the hostile look Finn bestowed upon him, when turned his back and took the taxi. He just looked at him angrily, without saying a word. The romance between the two, in fact, was an aberration, something inexplicable. I could only be satisfied that he now belonged to the past. After some rest in his quarters, Maggie entered the rented car and went out to try to locate the right store where Gayle suggested they buy new clothes because they needed at least a decent to attend dressed auction. On the way he tried to distract enjoying the city, which had a very old air. Shrewsbury had been the scene of historic struggles, Maggie recalled. Also it used to be the place where farmers brought their huge herds in very busy

markets. The forum had medieval lines and stood out among the most modern buildings. Maggie was surprised to see a showcase that featured models who might be in the best shopping in London. It seemed only have products griffe. He entered, and a very elegant saleswoman met Maggie and listened, attentive, the story of the flood. - I think we have everything you need - said, smiling. - One of our freguesas made a huge order and some of it gave up. He is interested in seeing it? She showed a beautiful long coat of a soft wool and honey-colored. Maggie delighted with the coat and laughed, thinking what Finn would say if he saw her choosing clothes that did not fit at all with the life of the field. Remember Finn caused him a shiver. Even after all and being away from him, Maggie still experiencing the effects of the passion that lived in his arms. So I wanted to review it ... Now, why would you need it? It was an independent, modern woman, able to live alone and doing very well. He looked at the coat with some concern, and the clerk thought she was finding the price too high. - All right, I loved it and I will take you - Maggie said, calming the saleswoman, who looked at her anxiously.

Why could not stop thinking about Finn? Why enter into a state of selfdestruction, failing to return to how it was before you know it? Maggie left the property shortly after, leading, beyond the coat, plus a refined set, Finn, certainly hate. He again! Despite finding the pieces he was looking for, Maggie felt extremely bad, as if I needed something that had not. How as a child and wanted to have a friend, but there was no time to make friends at all, because it changed nonstop from home, neighborhood and city, following the mother, who lived changing loves. However, that was before moving in with his grandparents when he had fixed. Been able to teach herself to solitude and independence, both financially and emotionally, they had no substitutes. Now that had regained their own personal space, could not understand how he could behave so differently as when she was on the farm. How absurd to imagine that had fallen, when he knew that love was an unstable feeling, unreliable and not lasting. Love was an item that was not in his plans. At least always been so, even before I met some very sensual farmer ... Welcomed for making to be herself and is now acting with common sense. What happened was unfortunate, but the way was to accept everything as having been a mere weakness inconsequential. He sought to find some acceptable excuse. Well, just been in a different situation from a very manly man, a true icon of virility. It was only once and foolish woman who had fallen into his arms.

Flushed with anger only see how silly and out as far never had the happiness of more cross the path of Finn. I would never see it. She sighed with satisfaction. Followed in search of his car when his footsteps distorted, and another shiver went down her spine, but it was not cold. I could not believe what he saw: Finn was across the street, leaning against the Land Rover, looking straight at her. - Finn ... Maggie became aware of how her body reacted when she saw him. It was dangerous to meet him again, because it seemed to him that he was again in a flood, being driven now not by the waters of a river, but their uncontrolled emotions. - Maggie! Finn did not expect to find her there. After Maggie never told you the reason that led him to Shrewsbury. I thought that after leaving his ranch, she took a driving to the capital. He wanted to take her somewhere where they were alone. It would involve the waist and convince that they should be together, than one needed the other. Without notice, he stepped forward. Maggie panicked, and his only desire was to escape from Finn as soon as possible. There was no point talking after all what they said on the farm, and feared losing control and soak up once again, in a sensual mood.

Thus, he entered the vehicle and set in motion, off the main avenue and entering a side street he found the right. Accelerated enough, seeking to impose a longer distance between her and Finn. Once Maggie had left the ranch, Finn tried to convince himself that was how it all had to happen. Two such different people could never live. The day before, however, come to dream of her and had been awake for hours, with muscles aching, emotionally disturbed and sexually needy. I'd love to caress those soft shapes, as he had done days before. I would watch her sleeping, seeing her frown nose and half-open lips. I wish I could make love again with Maggie, be it the way it was. Not dreamed, however, that would review it so quickly. Maggie looked in the rearview mirror to see if Finn had followed. As he discovered that she was in Shrewsbury that moment? Zangara up by your body react so overwhelming way before someone she barely knew, causing wanted to leave everything behind and snuggle up against his chest. Even though the car accelerated, deep down I wanted much to Finn had followed her and reached her, and they could ... "Could what ?!" Maggie was wondering furiously. Finn wanted to hold her and not let her go ever again? That live in the eternal atmosphere of magic that seemed to surround them? I should have gone mad. After all, he was a farmer, not a wizard who bewitched. And if all that had happened was due to a spell, she was able enough to get rid of its harmful effects.

Finn was not enough to find anymore. Finn watched Maggie go away and, despite knowing it was silly prolong its own agony, his desire was chasing her. I would go running in the Land Rover when a neighbor of his, a farmer already advanced in years, waved at him and stopped to chat. Finn knew he could not reach Maggie did not leave immediately, but pity from the old man and decided to give it attention. He swore at losing the chance to follow Maggie. It might have been even better. What was she doing in Shrewsbury? Why not come back to London? On the day of the flood, Maggie said she had no friends there, and then they were delighted with the caresses and pleasures of lovemaking, it was not resumed. He too had made her revelations about themselves. Finn closed his eyes, trying to control the pain that invaded. Maggie parked and looked around. Finn not pursued, and she tried to convince herself that it was even better. Although the auction be scheduled for the next day decided to talk to the person in charge of the sale of the property to know your chances of acquiring the Dower House at that moment. He had talked with him by phone, and the boy revealed that no one seemed to be interested in acquiring the property. Maggie was willing to pay above the price set by the auctioneer. I had to buy it for her grandmother, who seemed to be more unhappy every passing day.

The office of the sales agent was so close to the hotel she did not need to have gone by car. Of course I could not walk with those high heels she wore. He smiled at the thought of what Finn would say if he saw her with such extravagant shoes. Managed to find a couple Italian like the one that sank in the river. Again ... Will Finn could not spend even a minute without your picture returned to mind? Forgotten the cruel words he uttered on the eve of his departure? I not remember that Finn wanted her to live on that ranch away from civilization? Finn should have had the sense to know that what they proposed was absurd and what he had to offer there for Maggie was ridiculous. She was used to a higher standard of living. At least, to be surprised if she accepted the request. By opening the office door sales agent, he tried to keep the dangerous sense of loss that insisted on dominating it. It should now focus on acquiring the house and get rid of once of that fantasy mood that had lived in recent days. - Look, I'm sorry - Philip Crabtree, the sales agent, showed up sorry - but I have to follow with absolute accuracy the instructions that the property owner has given me. He does not want anything to be sold outside the auction. - Why? - Maggie protested. - I'm prepared to pay above the minimum price set by you. Philip looked at her sympathetically. I knew she was eager to acquire the property, but could in no way go against the orders he had received. - Too bad. But you understand that I can not do anything, right?

- Who is the current owner? Maybe I could talk to him and convince him to sell me the Dower house outside of the auction. - It's an American who inherited not only this property as well as other much larger. It was specific when he chose the way everything would be put on sale. He had promised me to attend the auction, however, sent word to me now that you're in trouble and will not come. I'm sorry. I wonder how much Miss wants to live there. - Do not'm buying for me. It's for my grandmother, who lived in Dower many years. She spent the first years of marriage there, and now that my grandfather died is so devastated ... I thought, if he returned to live in the place he loves, he could feel more comforted. - I wish I could help her, especially now that I know there is a love story behind everything. Understand that I have to follow the instructions of my client, but be sure no one came interested in it yet. Everything will be alright tomorrow. Maggie saw that it was useless to insist and fired up. No need to worry, just had to wait another day to stay with the property. This finding not reassured, however. He liked to have under their reins everything that happened to him. Clearly this was not happening often ... Walking to her car, she admitted to herself that she was anxious to leave soon Shrewsbury and surrounding areas. Who knows if Finn was not going to turn up again? Well, it could be until he had convinced himself instead of the romance between the two was absurd. Also could be looking for her, because I found I

wanted to follow her was there where it was, willing to beg you for a second chance. For a moment, Maggie allowed up staying in this wonderful setting, and that man so attractive was asking her forgiveness and agreed to go to live in London. Not that wanted to see him again. However, it was nice to see that his view prevailed. That was all. The reality was that Maggie would not see him anymore. So thinking, he returned to the hotel.

It was not hard to get to the Georgian house where the auction happen. Maggie marveled at the beauty of the place, and even more for the trees are so flowery. It was autumn, and the field featured various shades of color. Interesting how not notice the scenery when I was in London ... He noted that the residence would be auctioned and also remembered a friend who wanted to leave the capital and wanted to purchase a so sumptuous. It seemed, her friend wished away the husband of a woman who seemed interested in it too. When listened to these confidences, Maggie is horrified with the idea that Lilian wanted to leave a good job and the comfort of the metropolis to sink in the field. But Maggie had to recognize that living in a house like that did not seem such a tragedy. He went into a hall where stood a table with a pile of papers that should refer to several lots that would be auctioned. Maggie was not interested or by earth or by

the main house, let alone by the other property. Only a rich person could cast off the best lots, and she could not afford to do so. The Dower house was only of interest, and the lot was four. Lot one leiloaria the Georgian mansion where he was at that moment, the stables, garages and the garden around. The two referred to the farms, and three, the other stables and several residences that had been used by employees of the property. The Dower house was about one kilometer away and had its own garden and a good road that connected the main house. Philip Crabtree already come to the room and talking to some other parties in lots. Beside him, a beautiful young girl carrying some folders. It was to be his secretary, Maggie said. As soon as he saw Maggie coming, Philip excused himself to people and introduced him to his secretary. Very talkative, he confided that you somewhat present there obese wanted to buy the mansion, stables and garages for a tourism project. Another, older, by the window, wanted the farms, because they were border with the ones he already had. A very young couple who looked kind of place had shown interest in buying one of the bungalows and live there. Philip pointed out that no one had asked about the Dower House, at least none of the bystanders had done some question about it. Philip stopped talking and looked nervously, his watch, then looked at the door. He seemed to be waiting for someone who had not yet arrived. Maggie thanked for the information given to him and walked away, trying to entertain observing the environment.

The walls were a faded yellow through and needed a paint. Well, who arrematasse the mansion would reform it, no doubt. Also it was very cold inside, for lack of a central heating. Maggie had a strange feeling that the room seemed to want to go back to the times when off stage for parties and meetings. I was so distracted that startled when Philip Crabtree raised his voice, announcing the auction would start. When meeting others, Maggie realized that the agent kept looking at the door. Finally, he smiled, and Maggie, in an automatic gesture, turned and thought he was hallucinating. Finn was there, in the doorway! How you find it? As known she would be at the auction? He fought to regain self-control, seeking to appease their feelings, that mixed anger with joy. He could not escape him now. His body had already begun to react to register the presence of Finn. I would talk to him and ask that he expected the auction ends to talk. Until then, be quieter, more prepared to face it. - Oh, Finn! I'm glad you came! I am beginning to think it would not be able to come in time. - And Philip went to him. Maggie was surprised. It was obvious that Philip had been waiting for Finn. It's because? - Excuse me for the delay, Philip. - Finn cast a sideways glance at Maggie. He had not been looking for it. It had been a fool to think he was running after her.

Secretary of Philip surrounded Finn, smiling and leaning against it. Maggie reflected bitterly, that women is that beset him. And Finn did nothing to shake the young. I should be enjoying all that interest. Better that way. Now could control, back to you, but be behaving like a silly little girl. Finn looked at her, and Maggie tried to understand what he seemed to be feeling. It would be anger, disappointment hostility or pride? Or all together? Even knowing he should stop looking at him, it was as if an outside force forced her to do it. The auction started, and Maggie tried to focus on what unfolded. You chubby, what appeared to be an architect, had a bid by the Georgian house. The value was so high that Maggie was startled. He, listened even more stunned that Finn had increased the bid. As a rancher mere might be intending to cast off a property in which the first bid had been two million pounds? It began a kind of contest between Finn and the architect, and the toss went up even more. Maggie watched, stunned, for Finn. How could assume that he was such a poor farmer who only had enough to lease some land? Now your bid had reached three million and up. To reach three million two hundred and fifty, the architect looked at his companion, who should be an accountant, and gave up complaining. Before Maggie would recover from the shock of seeing Finn snapping up the house, she saw Philip ran to greet him.

Well, if Finn thought she would also congratulate you, deceived himself. Surely he would leave, now that he what he wanted. Maggie felt her face grow hot as she remembered who had come to think that he was there behind her. Luckily I had not said anything that would reveal his mistake. Finn would have given a unique opportunity to laugh his presumption. Finn watched as Maggie turned to continue to watch the auction. Not refizera also entitled to have her rediscovered, and right there. For a moment he had come to believe that Maggie had discovered his interest in the property and decided to look for him. It should not be this, however, as she looked at him with disdain. He made a slight signal to the auctioneer, showing their interest in the lands. It was Maggie's fault that he'd be late for auction because spent all night awake, and only been able to reconcile the early morning sleep. Awakened late, so after disturbing dreams. Imagine losing the auction of the property that both wanted! Searching both a place like that, and would only be satisfied when its new owner. Even having to pay attention to bidding, he kept thinking about Maggie. What was she doing there? I want to cast off some of the lots? That must be it, because he held a sales manual. What would be the lot she wanted? Not the main house or the land, because it made no bid for them ... Finn concentrated on bid that Audley Slater did. Audley was the farmer whose family lived in the area had many generations. It intends to acquire the lands

that were bordering its to extend their crops. Certainly would drain the area and sell the fishing rights. Finn wanted to keep the property as ever, no change, no change at all. Maggie could not be intending to acquire the land, then must have been behind some of the houses, maybe Dower. That made sense. He remembered that Philip Crabtree remarked to him that there were some people interested in the bungalows and Dower. Finn not confided to Philip that would seek cast off all the lots. Audley Slater shook his head dejectedly after Finn have raised the bid again. Five minutes later, the auctioneer pounded the gavel, and the lands were sold to Finn. - It will take a lot for you to take a profit this property, having spent this money with them, Gordon - Audley said, unable to contain. Maggie saw that Finn was talking to the farmer, while the young couple looked through worried for him. - It should not be long now - Philip went to Maggie, making it a gesture that everything would come out as desired. The plot of the smaller houses came up for auction, and the Finn also successfully bid for casalzinho of sadness. Maggie was angry to see their disappointment, but then let it go, because the auctioneer announced the fourth batch: the Dower House.

- It is a building in Georgian style, with a big garden. Of course it needs some repairs but is in great condition. We started with a two hundred thousand pounds bid. Refusing to look at Finn, Maggie made a slight sign of accepting the bid, trying not to show his incredible anxiety.

Then Maggie wanted the house Dower ... Finn should have known that concluded with some bitterness. You should want a vacation retreat for her and her lover. The lover she had said did not exist. Clearly lie. At least Maggie was going to take London engineers that would change the entire house. Then would come the decorators and who knows who else. The house always belonged to the property and was part of its history. Finn was not going to allow tourists appear there, much less Maggie and her lover. Maggie could not believe what was happening. Finn raised his hand and had raised the bid. I should be doing this to annoy her. Philip Crabtree assured that there were others interested in Dower. The bid had reached three hundred thousand, but Maggie would not stop. The dispute sparked the interest of all that had come to look for Maggie and Finn, wanting to see who would win the battle.

The bids were rising and rising. Three hundred and fifty, three hundred seventy, four ... When Maggie flinched at the flight of four hundred twenty-five thousand Finn had done, Philip made him a gesture of helplessness. Sorry she was missing the chance to get what both wanted. Rose the bid for four hundred and fifty, Finn topped offering four hundred seventy-five. Maggie has spent much your spending limit, but could not help himself. He began calculating what he must do to not allow Finn took the better of her. They were just a couple of meters from each other. Maggie stared at him, furious. - Why are you doing this to me ?! - What do you think? - He replied with equal anger. - I will not let you stay with the Dower. No way, Maggie! No matter how much I have to pay for it. No matter the amount, Maggie recognized. Finn was not going to be beaten ever. - Five hundred thousand! - Finn spoke loudly. Maggie felt a chill invade it. He resumed his calculations, trying to remember what could sell or pawn. Maybe your apartment, or ask a loan, would empty your bank account ... Then he became aware that he was about to go bankrupt just to be able to beat the man. I could feel the tension that reigned in the air, and his pride still insisted on trying to win. He raised his head and looked determined to Finn, who did not look away. I was serious, cold and angry.

Philip waited for her to answer if continued or give up. No way to continue, Maggie made a sign of giving up and walked hurriedly to the exit. Maggie had already come to the parking lot when Finn reached. He had not followed immediately, because it was talking to the young couple who intended to purchase one of the smaller houses. I liked them. I learned that the boy had graduated in agronomy with excellent grades and offered him a job on the property. After all, you might need experts who had knowledge of the soil and cultivation. Also proposed that stay in one of the residences, rather lowering the rent. The couple was overjoyed at the chance that Finn gave them. Now, chasing Maggie, he told himself he had done the right thing. I could not let her buy the Dower. Still, seeing the disconsolate expression that Maggie looked the auctioneer to give up, half had been shaken. - Maggie ... The moment she heard the voice of Finn, he felt invaded by strange sensations. An age of rage. - Came to celebrate his victory, Finn? I did not need to give this job. I should have known you would not let me win. He is pleased to have played as much money out, just for a taste of victory? I hope to convince that missed, and missed badly. - Well worth it - snapped, as angry as she was. - Would pay twice as much to keep the home from you two. - Far from whom? Who are you referring to?

- To you and your lover! The field should be seen as a great playground for you, weekend tourists, right? - Oh, I see ... I serve for going to bed with you, but I'm not good enough to be her neighbor. That is what is trying to tell me? Well, for your information ... Maggie was confused by the strong emotion that dominated. I was almost crying. - The fact gone to bed together terms has nothing to do with the Dower House. - You bought it only to defeat me ... - It was not so Maggie. Always I wanted to get the whole property. - That's not what Philip Crabtree told me. No one was interested in Dower. He said that to me several times. - Philip I left thinking I did not want everything, but ... - ... When he saw it was me he wanted the house, he decided he was not going to let that happen. - There are other properties, Maggie. - Not for me. She was pale and distressed, and Finn felt an urge to comfort her. He noted that Maggie back to wear fashionable clothes. I should have bought them in Shrewsbury.

Despite the refined costumes, showed up fragile. When Maggie raised her delicate face and his brown eyes at him, Finn felt he could not master. Maggie started to walk away, but he pulled her into his arms. Maggie responded, as if leaning on something hot, but Finn did not let go. - Maggie ... - He remembered the desire he had always felt for her and that made him weak and helpless. The urgency in his tone caused a shudder in Maggie. He realized that his body began to respond to the desire he felt. Memories of the two in bed making love back to her memory, and she tried to push them away. - Let go of me! - Required, with panic overwhelm her. He feared being weak and succumb to desire. Finn narrowed further, pressing her against the car. There was no escape. His lips were going to say "no", but it was too late. Their kiss started hostile and wild, in a losing fight to win the passion felt for one another. The time he spent in the arms of Finn showed Maggie the danger he was standing beside her. I could not resist him, their sensuality. The kiss was changing and losing its violence. He represented a danger which must escape. How could continue to want a man who had made suffer, that made her always angry? As a person so restrained as ever could now be overwhelmed by emotions that came against everything he believed in? Saber is so fragile gave him strength to start fighting and get rid of it.

Finn was breathing hard. Even he did not understand how come so far as is allowed take to behave that way. He ran his hand over his face, touching the place where Maggie had bitten, furious. He had never known such a dangerous woman. Rather I not have known her ever. Even more so because he did not want a girl who was involved with another man.

CHAPTER V

- I'm glad to have met you before to leave town! - Philip exclaimed when he saw Maggie hitting their bills at the hotel. - I was very upset by what happened. I was sure he would be with the Dower house with ease. - You assured me that there were no other interested in it, Philip. Maggie intended to do complaints with the sales agent, but his mood was so great that he had decided not stay there any longer, but return immediately to London. Out too humiliation he had spent disputing the ownership with Finn. I hated that place and all who lived in it. Of course I was being childish. No one was to blame for what happened between the two. - There seemed to be interested in her, Maggie. - Philip looked so embarrassed that she was sure she was telling the truth. So he decided to excuse him. - Finn told me he wanted to buy the big house and grounds, and I thought it would not seek to cast off any other lot. Just like you, he also tried to acquire the property before the auction, but I had explicit orders from the following owner. It was time that Finn had been trying to buy such a large property. - Philip looked very embarrassed. - I'm sorry that he has decided not to just have the main lots.

- All right, Philip. It was a shame, because you know how my grandmother might like to return to live in the old house, but it was not your fault. - Maggie suspected that Finn decided to just keep it all when seen interested in Dower. Besides, would not be able to cover such a high bid as he did. - At least also gave very high bids, Maggie. See, the house was sold for a much higher value than it's worth. At least twice the real. Philip looked at Maggie curiously. The climate of the Dower dispute was different from the usual. It was like Maggie and Finn were inside a private little war. Maggie's eyes filled with tears. I could not forget that everything could have been different had they not stranded the car in the river, thus coming to know Finn ... - Perhaps if talk to Finn, he can make an agreement with you. Finn is very generous, is given to philanthropy. Remember the couple who wanted to buy a house there in the auction? Well, he offered them one of the houses for a very low rent, and even a job for the boy. Now go talking Finn wonders of the entire city. And if you tell him if his grandmother? - I will not do that at all! - Maggie snapped, despite being in awe of his generosity towards the young couple. - I do not want to just rent Dower but give my grandmother with her. - If so decided, okay. Now I will talk to Finn. Surely your bank account was thinner in a few million. Not that he is not in good financial condition and can not venture to buy what you want.

Despite knowing he was going to regret later, Maggie could not help speculating: - I did not know a farm yielded both ... - That's not it. - Philip laughed. - Plans to organic farming Finn intends to implement on their land are not very popular around here. Audley Slater, one farmer who tried to buy the farms, who is the most critical. Finn was a hit in London as a financial agent and enriched. His fortune comes to many, many millions. Look, now I have to go. See you, Maggie. Finn lived in the capital and enriched there. Maggie could not believe his ears. I could not imagine Finn as an ambitious financial institution dealing with parties, women and drink. Why he had not told her anything about this phase of your life? Why had left her thinking had always been a cowboy who hated any major city? I knew so little about Finn who had taking wrong conclusions as to his plans. The square was empty when Maggie walked toward the car. What think? Finn would be in his Land Rover, very patient waiting for you? Remembering the Land Rover muddy made her smile sadly. The rich young people often love sports cars and never choose a vehicle like the Finn. The fact was that the bright car owners loved the modern and busy places, and Finn seemed to hate it all. Well, at least he has been involved with urban woman. He sighed wearily. He entered the vehicle determined to leave without looking back.

I had a long way to go, and would not continue to waste time thinking about Finn Gordon. Why should? After all, it meant nothing to her. Nothing, nothing!

Finn did not understand why care about it. After all, I had so much to do! Why should I apologize? He stepped on the brake jeep, distracted by his conjectures. I was in full town and wanted to take a trip to the hotel where Maggie was staying. Anyone would believe that he was arranging an excuse to see her again. He could stoop that way. Decreased even more speed, still undecided whether or not the way there. It was worth remembering that Maggie had a lover, and that made it clear he did not want to change your style. Again, he felt a pain in his chest. He had been so eager to ask Maggie to stay with him forever, and she despised his love. After all, the delicious moments that experienced in recent days should not mean anything to her, accustomed to a hectic existence, the men to court her ... Best would not see her anymore. Still, he continued driving. We saw a place to park the car and fit the job. He tried to convince himself that out to the city just to talk to Philip Crabtree.

- Finn, how nice it is here! I would call you there in November! - Philip was pleased with the opportunity to talk to him personally. Finn mumbled and looked discouraged for the hotel entrance. The kiss recall that he and Maggie had exchanged was little still burned his lips. - I just talked to Maggie Russell. I thought I should apologize because he had assured her it would be easy to cast off Dower. I did not know you'd want to buy it as well. Glad I could find it when we left the hotel. Maggie was gone! Finn felt a mad desire to start the engine of the jeep and try to catch her on the road. - I suggested to Maggie to ask you that rented the house for her - Philip continued, while Finn was trying to calm down. - After all, do not you think it makes sense to keep the closed, empty house, without surrendering anything. Then rent for a widow already elderly would be ... - Rent for whom? Finn focused completely on the sales agent spoke. His question was so sudden that Philip Crabtree was confused. - Now for a little old lady widow, Finn. For Maggie's grandmother. She told me a touching story, when I searched for the first time. I wanted to cast off the Dower before the auction to make sure that was not going to miss it. I'm sure you will not mind if I say anything to you.

Finn had not so sure, but disguised, waiting Philip continues: - It seems that his grandparents lived in Dower once married. Maggie's grandfather died a short time, and she's worried about her grandmother, walking very sad. When he read the news that there would be an auction, figured that if his grandmother could move back into the house where he was happy, could rejoice a bit. Maggie wanted the house for Grandma! Finn remembered her look of hurt when he said he was not going to buy that at all. What had just heard forced him to see Maggie in a different light, as someone who cared for a loved one. He never mentioned a grandmother to him, nor let slip that he had a lover. In fact, he denied having one. It could be he had told the truth. Later, driving back to the ranch, Finn realized he was still thinking about her. When he crossed the shallow stretch of the river, he looked around, as if one could make see Maggie grappling with jammed his cart and his ridiculous Italian shoes. He noted that during the auction, she wore another pair of shoes to high heels. I could not understand how Maggie remained standing upon them without losing balance. Maggie was so attached to her grandmother. This facet of his personality pleased Finn, mainly because he had no next of kin. His parents were married over thirty-five, and he did not come to know the grandparents. His father died of a

heart attack when Finn completed eighteen, and her mother a year later. This sad experience had made value the sense of family. We arrived at the farmhouse and looked disconsolately around. I was alone.

- And then John said he would continue proposing to me until I gave in and accepted me as a husband. I decided to save time and accepted. - Lisa wore an engagement ring with a solitary huge. Maggie looked at her friend who spoke excitedly. Just a few weeks ago, Lisa had sworn to never marry. It was eight friends, all singles and successful in the profession. The following were once a month was about five years, and these meetings always swore they would remain unmarried. Until, gradually, everything began to change. Maggie does not quite remember when this idea of not marrying began to be shaken. Gradually, the conversations always revolved around business matters were including name guys, intimacy revelations, comments that the parents wanted them to marry and give them grandchildren. And now everything was changing indeed. Caitlin was the first. He returned from a trip to Ireland willing to make a commitment to her boyfriend.

- My sister has a beautiful baby - said, willing to justify with friends. - I suddenly realized that I can not take more if you want to have a child as well. I am five years older than my sister, calculate! - You're worried about your biological clock? - Lisa said at the time. Nonsense ... Now, all Maggie's friends had arranged boyfriend but her. They exchanged confidences about love affairs and nobody swore you want to be single until the end of his days. They had changed, and she felt like a stranger in the group. He thought of Finn and as itself thought to join him. - Mom is thrilled, of course! - Lisa told the preparations of their union. - It's all alegrinha organizing the party. Neither wanted to listen to me when I assured you wanted a simple ceremony. And John agrees with her. By the way, I never saw no man get so anxious to become a father ... - Men like children - Charlotte interrupted. - One might think not, but that's the reality. Love from work and find a family waiting for them. By the way, many couples have moved to more peaceful places, changing the city in the countryside. Also, there may be something more pleasant than having a house in the countryside, large enough to fit the whole family? Maggie heard this conversation a little surprised. Why itself did not think so? Why he felt alienated from friends that had spent the last five years exchanging secrets, revealing your hopes and dreams? - It is very quiet, Maggie. - Charlotte had turned to her.

- Maggie disapproves that all we walked just talking about boyfriends. You think we are traitors. - Lisa laughed. - Imagine! - Maggie denied, but could see that the others did not believe it. It was excluded from the group. - We are giving more importance to our love life than to work - Tanya said. This is normal, Maggie. Tanya was something he planned to marry. This after a holiday on an island and fall in love with a boy she had met there. At the time, he planned to climb the Andes with him. Maggie did not need anyone to tell him that whatever was happening was normal and what would happen to her too. We saw some of her friends were beginning to take on the character that they were anxious to end the meeting. Before, they were up late talking. Now most I had other interests ... Without quite knowing why, on the way back to his apartment, Maggie entered a supermarket and bought the ingredients to prepare a chilli.

- Grandma, why do not you come live with me in London? We can distract shopping, and you would love going to the theater - Maggie suggested to Arabella Russell during the weekend they spent together.

- No no. It is very gentle on your part to worry about me, but need not, dear. I'm not willing to leave this house. Even if your grandfather and I have spent little time here at least some were his memories. The grandparents had moved to that property a few months before the grandfather of Maggie died. Maggie felt a tightness in her throat and a strong desire to cry but could not. This would leave more sad Arabella yet. And to think that could now be offering you the Dower, if their plans had not been frustrated. Finn recalled, and blamed again. Arabella could be roaming the grounds of Dower. I never forgive him! Maggie went to the kitchen and began to stir in the dry goods and in the fridge, looking for ... - Maggie, what are you doing? - Arabella asked curiously. - It seems you are looking for something. What is it? - The ingredients for preparing a chilli. - What ?! - I can not even think of cooking, Grandma? - Maggie ruborizara and closed cabinets, very awkwardly. After all, what was happening to her? Why I wanted to prepare chilli whenever he thought of Finn?

It was an association, but had to get rid of it. The fact was that the chilli made her recall the so delicious moments spent at the ranch. I had to be aware that the romance was over and the memories could only hurt her. So he was tormented so? It had been a month, and never turns Finn. Well five weeks, two days seven hours forty-five minutes in reality. He had the time kept away from him. And for what? He was happy living in London, leading his life as always led. I had everything we wanted. In fact, everything would be perfect if the grandmother was living in Dower. Once again Finn was angry. That his contempt for the style of urban people was unacceptable. That was why she had not allowed her to acquire the residence, thinking that Maggie was going to fill it with tourists. What right did he have to impose how people should live? Just because he was rich enough to say? After all, arrematara the house for twice what it was worth. He hoped that Finn was happy with his mansion, their land, their alpacas and with the house empty Dower. No, that was a lie. I wanted him to feel bad. He deserved to be as unhappy as Arabella Russell.

Finn looked at your new property. Had taken possession of it three days before, had taken his alpaca herd to new pastures, interviewed candidates for employees of the farm. Anyway, put his plans into practice. The living room window was going to turn into office spotted the Dower House. He has been there the day before and it assessed what reforms needed to be done. Despite being a very solid construction, it would have to change a lot of things inside. - It's a shame that is empty - one of the contractors said with some hope in their eyes. - I would not feel bad if I could live in it. - I thought I'd offer you one of the bungalows, one that is next to the I rented for Pete. - Finn could not even admit strangers who were living in Dower. She returned to the big house and examined each of the rooms. Was airy, beautiful, but something was missing it. Perhaps a decoration made by female hands. Maggie him came to mind, and Finn sighed dejectedly. He went to the desk and looked for the phone Philip Crabtree.

The letter was waiting for Maggie when she entered his apartment at nine o'clock at night, after a day of hard work. Gayle had failed because it had bronchitis crisis, and Maggie had to take charge of everything, including to calm a

client who had called complaining that subjects who had spoken in confidence with it had spread. Maggie suspected that this had happened because one of its employees should have told talk to the wife, who had spoken to her friends. He tried to calm the customer, saying that she was not guilty and ensuring that not make happen. Lost hours with this problem, then had lunch with another client, tried to talk to call grandmother and panicked when no one answered. He called the cell phone that had the Arabella, and nothing. I was almost going to Sussex when the grandmother finally answered the call, explaining that he had gone to visit her husband's grave. Maggie had been relieved. He had enough trouble that day and would finally take a nice shower and rest. He opened the apartment door and picked up the mail, without opening it. Minded and close the door by placing the bars that his grandmother had insisted from installing. Arabella Russell did not believe in modern security equipment and was still the locks and bolts. Maggie agreed with her, not let her worried. The central heating had been turned on, and it was a relief to escape the cold outside and into a very warm apartment.

Nevertheless, Maggie walked irritating to the sound of the heater and wanting to change it by birdsong and the sounds of the countryside. It was all ridiculous, of course. Hated country life. Sought to centralize thought in the mud, in the work that the animals gave, in dirty boots into the house, the owner of such boots and a Land Rover and old. I was angry at a certain farmer who stopped her from acquiring a certain rural home. Taking off his coat, he started to open the match. There were some advertisements, magazine, some bills. He tore an envelope and dropped the letter, such a surprise. It was not possible! How he had been able to ... He walked around the room, went to the kitchen, returned. He took the letter that had fallen on the floor and reread. It was Finn. He said he had learned why she had intended to cast off the Dower, Philip Crabtree told the story of Maggie's grandmother. Decided to agree that rented the residence and brought her grandmother to live there, on the condition herself and her lover not dwell together. Maggie case agreed to the requirement, you could contact him, which would prepare the necessary legal papers. Maggie could not believe what it all. Finn was an arrogant guy. How dare make such a proposal to it, after all that had passed ?! Then I thought she would agree! And had imposed conditions, making it clear he did not want to see Maggie there at all, let alone with her lover, after all, she had not! How had the gall to write such things?

It was irritated even more when wondered what he should be thinking of it: an unfaithful woman, able to betray her lover with a stranger or who knows how many more men. Finn hated! He thought he was going to answer him? I would not do it in any way! Suddenly he had an idea. Very interesting, tell by the way ...

CHAPTER VI

Driving down the road that would take her back to Shopcutte, Maggie was rehearsing what to say to Finn as soon as found. Even having spent the effect of surprise, anger persisted. What gave the Finn the right to treat her like that? Expected by chance that she accepted his offer and stay eternally grateful? Why had changed his mind, as had worked to the point of spending a lot of money just to have the satisfaction of winning it at auction? Finn insulted her, thinking she was involved with another man and behave like a woman without morals. And if Maggie had a lover, would be none of his business decide where to find it. Furious, stepped on the accelerator, without even wanting to stop on the way to eat something. I was hungry, had gone for fasting, such his anger. The letter distracted, the day before, and Maggie did not dined. Well, I would first find Finn, tell him everything that had stuck in the throat and only then would eat. He had taken a cup of coffee, but her stomach demanded food. Sure, I had to take a break. Slowed, looking for any restaurant, even if it was a simple one. I could have gone for another passage, where there were better restaurants, but that would leave longer trip, and wanted to just reach Shopcutte.

Eventually found a very reasonable place to eat. While waiting to prepare the meal asked, observed a group of young people at a table next door. There were different people that Maggie saw in London. I heard one of them say that refused an allotment in the capital because he preferred to stay near family there inside. Maggie felt a chill. She remembered her friend Tanya had told him he had to leave the old values and adopt new ones. Also claimed that many were choosing a healthier and simple life on a ranch, being tired of unhealthy bustle of the big city. He also came to mind that Lisa, a friend who was getting married soon, had spoken that, deep down, everyone wanted to be loved. He had added that the new generation had trouble admitting it, but it was pure nonsense. Should be the one craze of wanting to be different from previous generations. The truth was that getting involved with someone demanded commitment. Interestingly, Lisa had added at the time was that men wanted a family, marriage, children. Maggie remembered that also felt that Lisa imagined all this, I wanted things to be so because she was in love. Now, meditating on the subject, analyzing the possibility of having been mistaken. Maggie finished the meal, paid the bill and left the establishment. It was close. Another hour and reach Shopcutte. I would not have to hit the road passing by the river, because Finn had to be living in the Georgian mansion that arrematara at auction. He walked hurriedly to where parked the car. Had cooled enough, and Maggie snuggled in honey-colored coat he had acquired in Shrewsbury.

- I turned London upside down to find a coat like that your - complained one of her friends, seeing her with her coat as soon as she returned to the capital. Where did you find this beautiful thing? - In Shrewsbury. - Where is it, Maggie? I want to go see if I can find a similar! And now it was Maggie that made the field. Resuming the way, he noted that he saw flocks in the pastures beside the roadside were tightly grouped because of the cold wind that was. He smiled at the memory of friendly alpacas farm Finn leased. I would be going crazy, smiling happy just to stare cattle grazing? Or even worse, worried about the cold they were feeling? This time found the main road to Shopcutte. The first thing he noticed when approaching the big house was that the landscape was much less than before florida. Then we saw the Land Rover near the front door. He felt a chill in the stomach, concerned about the question that was going through his head at that moment: be doing the right thing? I would not rush her drop everything in London and go ask satisfactions Finn? What were you doing could be a huge mistake.

He tried to convince himself that that was it what to do. Still, it took a long time parking, maneuvering the car and leaving him facing the exit, in case you have to leave quickly. He became aware that out again with the wrong shoes to walk there. The previous week had seen in a shop window a pair of towering, wonderful shoes. He bought up a bag that matched them and were now using. At least Finn would tease her. The fact was not bought to annoy him, because at the time or had received the letter inda. Her dress was also not suitable to that visit. It was a honey-colored silk and printed with small flowers. Arabella had loved the designs and said that many years ago, had a similar outfit. It seemed print forties, he had added. It was certainly a piece to be used in more sophisticated place, not a full alpaca farm. Finn was not going to lose the opportunity to make any comments desairoso, that Maggie was sure. It took courage and went down the vehicle. It was too quiet, and no breeze shaking the leaves in the cold. The sky was gray, and a snowflake fell on her hair. Snow in early November? At the end of the month, all right, but it was still early for snow. He closed his jacket and ran to the front door, trying to revive the anger felt by much of the trip. Well, it would be great if Finn said something very nasty about your clothes and your shoes. So, Maggie would have more reason to argue with him.

He knocked and did not wait long. - Finn! - He exclaimed in amazement. - Who else expected to see? Forgot that I who live here? As he spoke, Finn left room for Maggie entered the hall where she had been during the auction. He looked at the room, seeking to gain time before face it. Not that he needed to prepare. He was just a man. As if he had been expected to be full Maggie the phytase, Finn moved closer, and she felt the impact of his manhood. He noted that, despite the very low temperature, Finn wore only a light shirt and marked the contours of his chest. The jeans, as always, was faded and fair enough. Unable to avoid, Maggie went looking all over his body. Could easily imagine him without his shirt, his muscular chest she kissed so many times ... He remembered how Finn reacted as he went down the hand and moving it increasingly down. His mouth went dry, and Maggie tried to deflect when he realized that Finn did the same. It was as if he were seeing her without her silk dress, touching her breasts, caressing your skin. Finally, he looked at her. - Your dress looks great on you.

"How ?!" Maggie was prepared for criticism, and behold, he praised. Finn showed calm, and that made Maggie still more amazed. He parted his lips, trying to say something. He was upset. I had another chance to see Maggie, feel her femininity, see it as always imagined. He tried not to get carried away by the desire to hug her. Her costume was to be a gift from her lover, sought to convince. So, I would be jealous and angry again, and would not fall into temptation. - I'm glad you put the central heating to work ... So you do not run the risk of enregelar here. I am using the old library office. Wants to go there to talk? - Finn showed him the way. - I'm surprised you had so much trouble to come here to treat business. I could have written and left me to send preparing a contract. - There will be no contract at all - Maggie refused to step it was. - No? He had become even more serious, and Maggie had a sense of victory. Finn had not been happy with what he had heard. Very well. Now I would hear what she meant, and it was no small feat. - How dare make me such a proposal, Finn? And who thinks he can impose what I can and can not do and with whom and where to stay? - I must conclude that all this anger is just for my demand that do not sleep with her lover in the Dower House? I also have to say that must stop using this type of shoe here.

- I do I choose my shoes and the man sleep! - Maggie was beside himself. - And I who decides who enters the Dower, and the conditions that I laid by letter does not change. - Finn smiled. - Making love to your lover there is more important than having the chance to offer Dower your grandmother? It was as if he had fallen into the trap urn. Something kept her from thinking logically, and could only react very emotionally. Maggie recognized what had denied until then. -. No. Nothing is as important as the happiness of my grandmother. - His voice was changed. - This has nothing to do with my feelings for her. What is at issue is my right to choose the man I want to sleep. - And we both know that you are great in bed - Finn interrupted cruelly, taking Maggie blush. - Very good indeed. Maggie shook hands as if ready to strike a blow. - I am prepared to allow the Dower rent for your grandmother live, Maggie. Philip told me she lived here in the early married days. - He had no right to be revealing to you what you confided. - For should be grateful that he had spoken. To be frank, Philip lamented that you had not been able to cast off the property. He explained his reason, because I was thinking that you wanted to spend your vacation here with her boyfriend. - You told Philip that I had someone? Maggie's eyes widened.

Arabella was a very conservative lady and, if it came to live in the Dower House and hear comments that the granddaughter had a lover, not only shocked fied as still hurt by the fact that Maggie did not say anything to her. I might even get sick! - How dare you spread lies about me? - Lies? - Finn showed a dangerous glint in his eye. - I invented? But know I heard you call and talk to all the love with a man! - The only people who called to the farm were my grandmother and my assistant, Finn! Ah! Do you think I talked to a man just because I was loving? Arabella was talking to Russell, if you ask me. Finn froze. There was no doubt that Maggie was telling the truth. And it was true that the anger showed. Perhaps he had thought ill of her, having also maintained a bit of cynicism when he lived in the capital. Off unforgivable what he had done! - So I was wrong. - Missed ?! - Pupils Maggie flashed. - You slandered me around, took my chances of acquiring Dower, sent me an offensive letter and now say, with all the tranquility of the world, you made a mistake ?! Finn was getting upset with Maggie so close. He could not prevent your eyes travel sensual body. Thank goodness was so engrossed in saying all that thought that it had not realized the desire with which he watched.

- Do not forget some other crime I committed? - He asked in a half apology. Maggie did not expect that reaction from Finn, and stopped talking. Once again, he began to realize how he was beautiful. There was something in the Finn forced to set aside common sense. Out to argue, and not to feel on fire for him. I could not stop thinking about how to be safe if the Finn were holding on as he was gentle caresses in what he did, how he could make her want to love her, to take her. With effort, he tried to focus on what he spoke. What other crime he committed against her? - I went to bed with you - Finn answered himself the question he had done. He considered this way have gone to bed with her? Maggie felt an unexpected pain squeezing his heart. Well, if that was how Finn thought she would leave it very clear that they had done just sex, not love, and who had not the slightest significance. Feigning disinterest, she turned away. Lie to Finn was one thing, but doing so in the eye was quite another. - I'm a grown woman, Finn. I can sleep with whoever I want. - So that's usually act? - None of us can deny that we got along very well in the sexual plan. Maggie made the flush.

Finn tried not to lose my temper, because if he did, no doubt hold her and ... - Anyway, I did not come here to talk about sex. - Yes! Staying talking is a waste of time, especially when ... - Finn stopped what I was saying stared raptly her face. Does Maggie had no idea how she was involved with her? - I came to talk about the letter - Maggie said, phlegmatic. - How could you offer me the Dower House for a cheap rental? You think you can not pay what it is worth? Know that have good yields and can you afford to spend as you please. - I was not offering the house for you, but for your grandmother. You can pay any rent, Maggie, but I thought everything would be different for her grandmother. Older people are proud and like to be independent. Maybe she was not satisfied to know that was being sustained by granddaughter. At least I would want to pay the rent out of pocket. Maggie knew he was right. She felt guilty suddenly unable to articulate a sound. How could not think of as Arabella would be Maggie assume high costs just to cheer her up? And as Finn realized that right away? Arabella Russell seemed to know better than to own granddaughter. I do not know if she was hurt to realize that Finn was a man who cared about older or because she herself did not weighed his actions, finding that he could hurt her grandmother. - I can find another home for Grandma. - Challenging, she lifted her chin.

- I'm sure you can, even, but I thought the reason that had led to the Dower was trying to buy his grandparents have lived there and been very happy there. Of course they stayed married so long that must have also lived in other homes and continued to be happy. - They came to live in Dower once married. Finn was very tempted to hold Maggie by the shoulders and shake her to end all that stubbornness. But it was not just that. He wanted her to smile back, her eyes shone with happiness, not suffering exhibited. - You were very attached to his grandparents, right? - Very. - Maggie was not going to deny that. - They created me, gave me a home, security and love, just when I needed it most. My parents ... Maggie would not be counting their problems. Probably later regret having spoken too much. Finn understood that she did not want to be talking about his personal life. Maggie intrigued, irritated him and aroused in her the greatest passions. - When your parents did what, Maggie? She closed her eyes. That was a conversation I wanted to never have started. He never referred to their parents with anyone, not even with her friends. No one knew how Maggie felt fear, insecurity and sadness when they decided to separate. He remembered well how his mother was bored when he heard his daughter was asking to some school party.

- Oh, dear - she said. - I'll go out to dinner tonight, and you know how boring these children's petting ... Maggie knew her mother hated these your requests and stopped insisting. Could only count on itself, that was the truth. - I have nothing to talk to you about my parents. - Maggie shook her head and turned away, so that Finn did not see how it hurt to touch that subject. But he held his elbows as if trying to prevent her escape. - They hurt, right? - No. - Maggie insisted on denying, but he knew he had left transpire what you would within. - Maggie ... - I do not want to talk about it. By the way, not interested in what I went through as a child. After all, my parents were no different from most all of the time. They believed that their interests must be placed above the other, even if those others were their children. His mistake was to have had a daughter like me who wanted to ... Horrified, Maggie felt the tears welling. He tried to stop them, but Finn was holding firmly. He stopped fighting when he saw the printed pity in his eyes. He tried to free harder. Finn realized that Maggie does not want anyone to take pity her.

- No, Maggie. You were not a mistake in their lives, but a very valuable gift. The affection she felt the voice of Finn made her closer to him and lift his face, watching him closely. When she found Maggie's emotion, Finn knew he was lost. He looked at that beautiful face, for that mouth ... - Enough! - She said, suddenly. - I'm leaving now! And he turned away from Finn, heading for the door. - Nice gesture! But I'm afraid you can not go anywhere. Why could not she leave? What would stop? Angry up, but also experienced some good sensual pleasure. - What do you mean by that? - Maggie challenged, trying to control himself. What if Finn forced her to stay, even against their will? I had to leave. Stand beside Finn was a danger. She fraquejaria, that was certain. - Take a look outside. - Finn turned the knob. As they discussed, very dim, but that was not the issue. Maggie looked terrified garden, not wanting to believe that, once again, a phenomenon of nature would prevent it from starting. No they had noticed the snow had fallen hard and left the white frozen landscape. Maggie's car was jammed again, only now in the snow. Maggie swallowed hard and stared at Finn, disconsolate.

- I'll get to take the car away. There should be no problem on the road. - Will not drive at a time like this. - Finn would not even discuss it. - The radio reported that there would be a blizzard and asked that people do not leave the house. The roads around here, even the main, are buried, and you will not even know you're on the road or not. - If you knew that, if he heard the warnings, why did you let me to be wasting time arguing about? You should have told me! - Maggie groaned. In fact, he should have warned her. I knew, however, why not said anything. - You gave me no chance, Maggie. He came in here ready to talk all he thought of me. - Now the culprit is me! And what will I do now? - Maggie still look devastated, for snowfall, which continued to fall. - There's only one thing to do: you must spend the night here. - What kind of place is this? - Maggie exclaimed, outraged. - An hour is flood dragging my car, another is snow-covered road. And everything happens right where you are. It should not do so cold this time of year, much less snow. London never these unforeseen happens! Maggie knew, however, that the question was another. No idea how he would react if he was next to Finn for an entire night. He went to the garden, but returned quickly and all wet snow. - What will happen with the alpacas - wondered, worried about the animals.

- They'll be fine. - Finn has to close the door. Maggie did not want to know how glad she was not gone. - Alpacas are used to the cold. - But what about those who are still baby? - Maggie protested, noting that there were some very tiny. - You'll be fine, too. Maggie looked at the closed door, as if ready to run out and check herself if the alpacas were well even. That could be embarrassing because Finn had not told Maggie that the flock was in a field where there was shelter and alfalfa at ease. When you feel cold, alpacas seek the covered place, and everything would be in order. After he heard the news, he and one of the employees had taken the animals near the shelter. - By the time his grandmother lived here, the fields had many deer - he told Maggie, wanting to distract her. - I'm looking forward to meeting Arabella Russell. She should know all about the history of the house, as lived there a long time. I knew who lived before the Dower were two brothers who died in the war, and the property passed to a distant cousin who had greatest assets this in Scotland. - Do not tell me you're looking to meet my grandmother, Finn. I told you she will not live here. Finn was thoughtful and took on speaking again: - Are you really willing to do that, Maggie? Let me ask you something. If it were anyone else he was doing his offer, also refuse?

- Do not want to argue about it. - Maggie bit her lip. - Could you show me where I will spend the night? Looked at him, nose lifted. - Want to know where your room, Maggie? Too bad we have a little problem here. As only one of the dormitories is now retired ... - The house has only one room in working order ?! - Yes, only one. - Finn flashed a devilish grin.

CHAPTER VII

There was only one furnished dormitory there in the house, it was snowing hard and Maggie could not leave. They spent the rest of the afternoon discussing who would sleep in the room, or rather, who would make the kind gesture of offering to settle in on one of the living room sofas. Finn ended up winning the race. Well, Maggie let him win. - I am the master of the house, so it is my right to choose who will sleep in my bed. As you are my guest, the bed is yours, and go to the couch. - Finn ended the feud. Maggie bit her lip, annoyed, especially because he made it clear that she was a guest there. Your invited! Now I was in the room Finn, looking at the icy landscape outside. He stared at the huge bed and felt a chill. It was there that Finn spent the nights and where it would settle. - Feel at home - he said, before heading to the kitchen to prepare dinner. Maggie began observing the environment. It was pretty big. Ali fit handily two people and even children. Children? Maggie was surprised to be thinking about it. Whence came this idea?

Should not fantasize. It made no sense to be thinking in children, especially since the relationship between her and Finn was not all that wonderful. He noted that Finn did not alter the room style, just sent paint the walls in a blue-green tone, keeping the ceiling plaster ornament. However, it seemed to lack something there. Perhaps a decoration made by a female hand ... The floor was cold, and Maggie wondered children running to the parents' bed with cold feet. Ah! There she was again thinking of children! Lacked a carpet on that floor, it did not make sense out of a hot bath and go to bed freezing feet. The room would be warmer and sensual if it had curtains on the windows and furniture were like your grandmother had, ancient, matching the architecture. Maggie sighed. Suddenly blinked. For a moment he turns Finn lying there, his head leaning against the pillows, his bare chest leaving their muscles on display. Fast, fixed his gaze. It was a vision. He shook his head, took the fluffy towels that Finn had given him before leaving and decided to take a shower. When finished, he puts on a robe, which belonged to Finn. Again, we had a quick look. I had to get out of that room and go into the room. Not that it might be so much better. After all, your illusion become reality and she would be seeing Finn in the flesh.

It was better down soon. If delayed, Finn would think that she wanted him to come up and find it was in the room. That possibility alarmed her, and Maggie decided not to take a minute or more. He looked again out the window, and the windows were already full of snow to fall back. It was as if time had resolved to give a cupid and keep it attached to Finn. First off the flood, now the snow! Everything seemed to conspire to keep them together. Maggie took a deep breath, then smiled. What a fantasy! He decided to go to meet him, and stayed a while watching the full doors corridor. When the mansion was renovated, would return to its old splendor. He will come to see you ready? - We will have to eat even here - Finn said when Maggie came into the kitchen. - Do not got specialized personnel for decoration. Only I managed to have a kitchen, a place to take care of my business, a bedroom with a comfortable bed, nothing more. At the moment we have to ... - Why did not you tell me who has worked a long time in London? - No sooner asked the question, Maggie regretted having done. She blushed embarrassed because I was being too curious. - It was a period of my life I decided to forget. - Finn did not seem upset. Served only to leave me with enough features to choose from now and will be my future. - You can not delete part of everything that happened to you, Finn. Every detail of our existence matters.

- Such as the relationship you had with your parents? - Finn spoke with charge air. I knew how much Maggie tried not remember the anguish that passed soon after their separation. Their eyes met, and Finn could see that there was pride and sadness in the Maggie, but also a hint of challenge. - Whatever misery I went through because my parents did not love me was offset by much of love that my grandparents gave me, Finn. You, in turn, is only mulling over the bad times that spent in the capital, without remembering the good things that also should have been there. Finn had to recognize that Maggie had a rapid and sharp thinking. In fact I had to recognize that also lived among quite intelligent people, friendly and without vices. It was not even all underneath, as was doing. - You have a point, Maggie. Is that changed not only inside, and now want much more from life than just material success. Besides ... - He opened the oven door and stood for a moment studying the food that he had put there. - ... I saw many good people being destroyed chasing wealth and success, and abusing not only of themselves and of others. And fear of failure. - You do not live in the big city that leads to it. - Maybe not. Well, the lasagna is almost ready - decided to change the subject. - Staying discussing such serious issues is not good for digestion. So I'd better talk about other things. - I have a better idea - Maggie said, half irritated. - How about we eat in silence?

- I did not know there could be a woman who prefers to remain silent! - Finn looked at her sarcastically, taking the lasagna from the oven. Maggie gave him a deadly look to it, but managed to control and not responding. Half an hour later, satisfied with the delicious dish he had eaten, forgotten the anger that was to continue feeling for Finn, Maggie smiled. - I was very good, Finn. Had not even realized I was hungry and ... - He stopped when he realized what he had done: broke the stillness that she had imposed. In times when Maggie was not willing to discuss was a pleasant climate between them, Finn decided, feeling a tightness in the throat and heart to watch her. His body reacted with a certain strength and savagery only to see those seductive eyes, how Maggie bit her lip, the movement of her breasts ... Finn pondered what she would say if he claimed to still hungry, only a different well ... he looked away before Maggie realized something. If in the past feared that dangerous excitement of drugs, now felt a much more powerful temptation. Nothing could compare to that experienced in relation to Maggie, and this kind of little game in which they had been involved further increased his anxiety and impatience. Although common sense alert you that should get away from her as soon as possible, its human side demanded to stay and take advantage of the opportunity to get what he wanted most: play Maggie, make love to her.

He tried to control and steer the conversation in jest. - A big city woman who loves to eat and is not afraid of getting fat! Now you're surprising me. - He was waiting for her reaction, which should come explosive. - After all, should not amaze me because they say that women with big appetite for sex also can appreciate the most diverse pleasures. How about another glass of wine? Finn indicated the bottle of red wine which opened at the beginning of the meal. - Do not want to drink, thank you - Maggie spoke calmly, trying to counter it and not react, as Finn waited to do. Finn commented that Maggie had a big sexual appetite, all this to tease her, to make her remember the moments of love they had shared. - Maybe it stopped snowing and I can already leave. Maggie knew he was trying to buy time, away from the panic felt by fear not control and fall into his arms. She started to rise, but returned to sit pretty quickly because Finn had made a move and had come over her, to remove the empty plate from the table. If get up this minute, your body would be next to him, and just imagine that his blood ran faster in the veins. Nervous, she took the glass of wine and took it to his lips. Finn knew he was watching, and this made her even more nervous.

- It has not stopped snowing. - Finn smiled. - You can not leave, Maggie, and even if it could, after three glasses of alcohol doubt in a position to drive. - I took three ?! - Maggie was horrified. How could drink so much without realizing it? He looked at the glass in front of him. - There were three, just two and a half. - What is also beyond the legal limit. Moreover, these ridiculous shoes that you are using was not going to walk or one centimeter in the snow. - Stop criticizing my shoes just because they do not like them! They're cute, comfortable, and I figured it was snowing at this time of year, so I'm using. Finn stopped to put the dirty dishes in the dishwasher, with an expression that was left sensuality. Maggie did not resist, and moaned loudly. - I Never said I did not like your shoes, Maggie dear. Just do not match where we are. - You called them ridiculous, not inadequate to the field - Maggie reminded him. Then he felt that Finn was not going to recognize your intransigence and decided not to discuss further. - I'm tired, I think I'm going to bed. The snow should be stopped tomorrow morning, and so I can return to London. Why Finn looked at her like that, that made Maggie feel he needed to move away from running? What was that man that troubled her so much that forced her to forget the anger that thought feel it, that turned into another woman? - Yes, Maggie, I was wrong. His shoes are neither ridiculous nor inadequate to be used in the field. Are provocative, that's what.

- What? Now Finn should find it too provocative. If not, why he had spoken of his shoes? For an unexplained reason, rather than face him saying he was that it was ridiculous, Maggie decided to flee Finn, put up safe in order to regain self-control and not do anything that would come to regret it later. In the silence of the kitchen, now alone, Finn muttered angry to imagine, even with Maggie away, she was still there, for their scent remained. The perfume she wore the maddened. Could have sworn had been impregnated in the farm room even days after it that out of there. And now Maggie made to occupy your suite ... your bed ... your life ... your heart. Disturbed, she closed the washer door and called. Then it went to see the snow falling steadily. Maggie was right. Never snowed in November before ... not there. It was strange, meaningless. Something uncontrollable, such as feelings for Maggie.

Maggie woke up confused, watching the strange environment where he was, lit only by the bedside lamp she had left burning on purpose. Then, he remembered everything. Finn was in the house. In his bed!

He felt his mouth bitter with wine that ingested, a desperate thirst made her look like a sandpaper tongue. I needed to take water. He consulted the huge clock on one wall. It was over midnight. Pushing the sheets, she left the bed. When he opened the door, he saw that the stairs and the hall downstairs were in the dark. A certain nervousness ran down his spine, because she always feared the dark. Her fingers trembled as she touched the switch that Maggie remembered seeing on the wall near the door. The house was quiet and did not hear any noise downstairs. I should have put a jacket before leaving the room, or the huge robe that Finn had lent him. Wear clothing that belonged to him, however, posed a risk not taking. Thus he came into the room, grabbed her cardigan and bundled up. Now the brightness of the chandelier cleared the stairs and even then, Maggie hesitated for a moment. Then quickly down the central staircase in the hall. No sooner finished the steps, the office door opened and Finn appeared before her. He also awakened. Maggie looked at him half-naked man appeared suddenly, startling her. Even trembling, unable to deviate from her chest. When he was able, his gaze slid to the short of it. Finn should have known that left the excited women and not walk around the house without a robe. Of course I was thinking nonsense. After all, that was his residence at that lived alone. That night, I had a guest, that's all. - Where do you think you're going? - Finn asked, quite angry.

- I came to take water. - Maggie stared at him. - Dressed like that? You think I'm stupid? I can imagine the rush you have to go, Maggie. - From? - Maggie's eyes widened. - I would not go. - So why put a coat? Maggie had forgotten that I was using. Embarrassed, he tried to find a reasonable explanation. - I was going down, and used the cloak like a bathrobe. I'm barefoot, see? Or ... - Not what? - Finn demanded. She fell silent. - Well, since you do not answer me, Maggie, I have to use my imagination, that at this time, telling me that ... - Finn took a few steps toward her. - Any idea how to tease me know you're naked under that coat? Maggie could feel his heart beginning to beat wildly. Soon, her whole body trembled. The effect that the sultry voice of Finn caused it left her almost breathless. Was shocked by, just knowing that Finn wanted, be troubled that way. Common sense would send a not answer anything, to escape the temptation while still had the strength. I did not use it, however, and stood until he decided to respond to his question:

- If you're trying to tell me you want me, so ... - So what? You want me to prove I'm not lying? Maggie shuddered when Finn took her in his arms. Not that I wanted to protest or fight him. That was the feeling that the Finn proximity caused him. I could feel his heart also fired, even with wool to separate them. He moaned as he unbuttoned his coat. - Nothing ... You're not wearing anything. - I was lying. - Maggie intended to look indignant, when in fact his voice was soft and anxious. - I would not dent my dress because I have to put it again tomorrow. I did not bring a change of clothes. So when I went to bed and ... - Off to bed ... to my bed. You can not imagine how much I wanted to be there with you! Since it ... - Since I came here? - Maggie struggled to not let overwhelm passion that enveloped her. -. No Since you left, Maggie. Now it was even harder to resist. Helpless, Maggie closed her eyes, letting your feelings welling up more and more. - There was not a single night when I did not want to have her by my side Finn whispered, approaching her face and began to kiss her.

Kisses fast, short, seductive, who teased, causing Maggie achegasse more Finn and reciprocate the caresses. An erotic climate overlapped to everything when Finn nipped his neck. It was impossible to resist, to fight against his will, against the need he had to surrender to love. - Which bed will be? - She heard Finn said softly, never taking his lips from hers. - In his or mine? Mine's closer. Or we can perhaps try the two ... The fire is still burning in the office. Have you ever made love in front of a fireplace and the beloved body also warming yours? - No, never ... - Maggie let yourself be carried away by the pleasure that the images he suggested provoked it. She closed her eyes and felt they were wet with tears. Cried because a thought occurred to him suddenly: Finn should have said the same things to other women. - Never made love in a room heated by the warmth of a fireplace? - Finn joked. - Of course, I had forgotten that in the big city there is no fireplaces, is there? His words hurt. - No - Maggie said frankly. - After all, I never ... never had ... I have ... She did not want to say anything. I did not intend to waste time talking, or want to be thinking that Finn had other girls. What he wanted was the same ...

Maggie shivered a little and tried to ignore what he was feeling. What he felt every time Finn touched her, leading her to believe that what happened between them was the most important thing in his life. - What are you trying to tell me, Maggie? - Finn grabbed her face with both hands and looked at her firmly so she could not hide anything from him. - Want to tell me that there has never been another man? Do you really want me to believe that such an intelligent woman, desirable and unable to resist sexual desire lives as a celibate? Maggie felt an unexpected pleasure to hear the terms that Finn used to describe it. And he looked at her with such sensuality that she groaned again. - Always I wanted to concentrate on my career - said with sincerity. - And I never was left me time to ... to my relationships. The way Finn was touching was her pulse accelerate more and more. - Oh, Maggie ... Maggie! She was delighted to hear how passionately he called his name. When Finn began to run her hands through his hair, Maggie lifted her chin to receive his kiss. - You make me feel so different, Maggie. No other woman left me well, you know that? - Finn whispered, crazed with desire, when parted lips. Maggie could feel his breath when he has to approach his face, and thought maybe he could not wait any longer to have it more closely yet.

Embraced, they walked into the office, stopping several times to kiss, and Maggie moaned with pleasure every time the hands of Finn touched her naked body. When he saw the fire leave his skin brighter and Finn let go for a moment to pull the sofa closer to the fire, Maggie almost cried. - What it was? - Finn stared at her so that she came to blush because it was easy to guess the intensity of his desire. It was as if his body was ready to be part of Finn's body. I never experienced such intense heat, and she came to look, as if afraid to be even burning. - Finn ... - protested, stunned by his own ardor that consumed, and blaming him for it. Before Maggie was just anxious to buy a new pair of shoes, a sophisticated clothing. Now all he wanted was to belong to a man. One who was there, ready to love her. - Come here - Finn ordered softly. Without even thinking to refuse this call, Maggie walked over to him, knowing that Finn was ready to do whatever it took to give you the delight for which she longed. - A city girl and a man of the field ... - Finn stroked her nonstop. - We are very different and, however, no one would both be part of one another. I was so afraid of never able to have her in my arms ... - We are now very close together. - Maggie lowered her lashes, trying to control his emotions.

- Not as close as I wish we were. - And Finn's fingers began to skim Maggie's nipples. - I want you to join our skins, our meat, our mouths, everything. And so I want to be, honey. Maggie knew she should say something very sexy and provocative, but could not even think. Therefore, only accepted the caresses and let explore her curves, involve her nipples in his mouth. Perhaps ended exploding, not resisting so many delights. When Finn knelt before her and went down the lips in search of the peak of her femininity, Maggie mumbled something unintelligible and dug her nails into the muscles of his arms, trying to nullify any distance there was between them. Without realizing it, had left scratch marks on the skin but could not stop touching him so savagely. Finn's hands glided over Maggie's hips, pulling her legs. Tenderly, he was taking her to the ground. Maggie watched, savoring his manhood. He touched his shoulder, then slid his hand to his neck, to his chest, and lower ... His eyes darkened, and Finn started gasping. - The longer still want to torture me ?! - Finn exclaimed, full of lust, unable to resist the pleasure. Finn penetrated, and Maggie screamed. Feel that man so attached to her made her see a thousand stars shine around, as if the sparks surrounded her more and more.

- Am I the torturo? - She laughed happily. Finn kissed her in full, up and down, licked his most sensual points, putting her almost crazy. Maggie grabbed him tightly, pulling him over and over to join them, with trembling hands tightening those muscles strong. They made love almost wildly. Finn pulled her hips against him as he penetrated deeper and deeper. In love dancing, every movement Maggie felt her insides ask for more, for wanting her lover took possession of it all, to stay there forever, which movimentasse faster, faster, harder, giving her the maximum you, whatever your body asked. Only then the hunger he felt would be sated. Sweat wet, Maggie reached the climax. Finn looked at her with a hint of triumph in his eyes, seeing her succumb to the pleasure he had given her. Finally, also left hand to a head, completing the union also placating the desperate need to have Maggie, the happiness that was able to be inside her, making her moan as he moaned now. Maggie was in his arms, and had loved as ever.

CHAPTER VIII

Sleepy, Maggie snuggled closer in the covers, savoring the warmth of the bed. Finn came down to prepare breakfast. Maggie smiled, satisfied. A fantastic night they shared, repeating several times the act of love, made her feel sexier than ever. Now, even when alone, experiencing the warmth of Finn, he remembered so well, so often had loved in the past hours. The tenderness with which he treated her after almost savage passion shared thrilled her. First, they had loved the ground, in front of the office fireplace. Later they went up to the bedroom and made love sometimes, as if one were not enough, after missing that each felt the other that separation period. Then, exhausted, they slept agarradinhos, fearing that something happened and separated them again. Maggie woke up when the first morning light came through the window, but Finn continued to sleep. She took that moment to savor not only the erotic memories of sex repeated so often but to observe Finn and feel happy to be sharing the same bed. Even without wanting to wake him, she did not resist and started to hand lightly on his face, then stroked her hair. She leaned over and kissed him on the mouth. As Finn did not wake up, Maggie began to get away from him, half disappointed. It was prevented by two strong arms that held and, in the delightful

ensuing struggle, let it defeat and leaned against it. Every kiss exchanged, their lust grew. - That's not fair! - Maggie pretended to complain when he hugged her tight and would not let her touch him, putting to kiss every soft curve of Maggie in an erotic journey that began in the neck and had stopped in round and bare breasts. The sense of touch of his tongue on her nipple had made Maggie arched body, moaning in a wild abandon, the forgotten protests, the game turned into real desire that led to a new era of almost unbridled sex. Now, Maggie, with her eyes closed and recount these many times. - Do not tell me you went back to sleep! - Finn returned to the room, taking breakfast on a tray. - It is still snowing? - Maggie asked, looking at him and smiling at him. - There is snow outside, but is already melting. - He put the tray down on the mattress and searched for the Maggie's lips for another kiss. If not snowing anymore, so she could leave. Maggie felt she was satisfied in part, but then felt very strongly that the blizzard continued for days for her to stay there, next to Finn, in his bed, in his arms. - Time to get food, young lady. And do not give me the litany of city girls who say they do not want to eat anything.

Maggie looked away to Finn did not realize he had told the truth about it. In fact, I had no breakfast when I was in London, as always woke up half late and had to run to work. He looked at what he had prepared and was sure it would be identical to what Arabella would find suitable for the first meal of the day. Besides coffee, orange juice, cheese, toast and jam, Finn put a flower in a little vase. Maggie wondered where he could have arranged a flower, if there was snow covered all the plants. He began to eat with great appetite, and Finn smirked and watched her start with the orange juice. Maggie dominated up to say that after a night so troubled, it was natural that he was now hungry for real food, since their sexual satisfaction was fully sated. This thought made her blush, and Finn looked at her curiously. The feeling of lethargy involving every muscle was news to Maggie, but also the act of love that had delightedly surprised her. I never imagined that love would be something so sensational. Had been created by conservatives and grandparents never had desires to break free. Preferred to pursue a career, thinking that would be single and happy only with professional success. He never thought he would act without acanhamentos and with such sensuality in a bed, as happened every time had given the Finn. He tried to disguise his thoughts and stared silently for a toast.

Finn put on a bathrobe before descending into the kitchen, but now had brought him out. Unable to hold back, Maggie watched discreetly forms as manly. She lowered her eyes, and her heart began to beat faster. - Do not look at me that way, unless you are also wanting us both ... Maggie blushed more to realize that he noticed his wonder. - I thought you said it was going to work and see how alpacas were - she reminded. - You are arranging an excuse? - Joked. - You got tired of me? Maggie never get tired of it, I never cease to desire it. With hot faces, tried to find the right words. - No, I never tire ... Before she could finish the sentence, Finn took the bed tray and hugged her. - So you will not let me go take care of my flock ... Maggie held her breath until she felt the warm brush of his lips on hers and took a deep breath before the kiss became longer. They were back in bed, caressing each other, each wanting the other to feel the maximum pleasure.

The coffee had cooled when Finn was able to leave the room, dressed and ready to see the alpacas. Poor animals ... If Maggie stayed longer there, what would become of them? Maggie decided to get up too, decided to wash her underwear because not planned to stay more than a few hours at his house, so had not taken suitcase. At least this was the decision he had taken when he left the capital, unable to reason with logic, unable to recognize that he could never stand next to Finn inadvertently be with him forever. You must know that every trip that made the Shropshire, should take a suitcase full of clothes. I came down the stairs when his cell phone rang. It was a customer who asked that her fast arrange an employee for your company, since he had decided to quit his job and go meet a girlfriend in Boston. Maggie had taken his notebook and, in minutes, informed the customer already found a list of candidates and send their names and addresses by e-mail. When he hung up the phone, he decided to take another cup of coffee, which prepared on time, satisfied how he realize their job effectively, even when outside London. It was not the speed with which passed the information to his client that made her excited, but the awareness that could keep working, even if not in London. You could, perhaps even live in Shrewsbury and still keep your business. It was enough to organize the business so that he could get in touch with your customers by phone, by computer and in meetings combined in advance. They

prevent such encounters she got home in the evening, of course ... But are few occasions when he would be away from Finn. Maggie restrained her reverie, who took a dangerous path. I was thinking about riding your business in the field to be able to stand beside Finn! He looked out the window and saw that the ice had melted, but it was not what mattered now. And why not? Could have their home there ... He felt a chill go through it from top to bottom. I would have a home and Finn. Since when the two had become synonymous? His home was one where she was with Finn concluded. Since when he started to realize that? From when they made love? The first time or just now? At least out from the first moment he touched her. It turns out that was not allowed such thoughts to surface. Fought against the idea that his place was next to Finn, determined to deny this desire and destroy it. He had been afraid to admit how their priorities had changed, as Finn made her vulnerable. Now things were different, and something changed. Maggie was not the same. He wanted to go over your feelings with its extreme rationality, fearing accept love. Only now she recognized that the right was take your new reality, even if it were to revolutionize the way everything had faced before. I was living a new

experience in which he had to admit it was a sensual woman, full of desires. I had to start winning old repressions, barriers erected against love. Freed up a weight had carried so far. He sighed with relief. It was not wrong to accept that she was in love, I was entitled to it, which could allow changes if they take her to feel happy and fulfilled. His parents had been irresponsible, thinking only of themselves, unable dedication that her daughter needed. That made her try to be too responsible. Not that it should not be responsible, but exaggerated, repressing their emotions, choking them. I could see that he did not go to extremes, sacrificing himself. The immaturity and selfishness of her parents took her to do so, away from love. That was not necessary. Love does not mean it could not be a responsible person. I had the right to make a commitment and remain independent. The work does not nullify your chance to love. Could reconcile all without problems. The first time I told Finn that she loved him, hated herself and blamed for falling in love. This is because thought to be acting wrong, believing that should not love it. Realized, finally, he was wrong. You should listen to your heart, and would on there. He smiled, very cheerful, and rejoiced to hear, in your imagination, the wedding march. He wanted to marry the man she loved. Shortly after, when Finn came into the kitchen, Maggie still working on your notebook.

- I need another five minutes dear. Then, I finish my task. By the time it spoke, the phone rang and she answered, with a very professional tone. It was a girl for whom Maggie had found occupation, who was complaining of sexual harassment by her boss. Maggie promised to talk to the boss in question and, if not surtisse the expected result, arrange new placement for the young. Should be in London that night, he promised, suggesting that took breakfast the next morning. Finn heard the conversation and felt a huge agony invade his chest. How could I think that things had changed and they could now get together? Sufficed one long-distance call to Maggie decide to return to London and drop it. A serious relationship with Maggie never going to work. He would have to settle for crumbs, but wanted a full meal. Not only wanted a few sporadic encounters, but a serious and lasting commitment. What he felt for Maggie was love, and it would be enough not just be someone else in her life. Finn watched her entertained on the notebook. I was so involved in what he did not notice the look that he drove him. A few more seconds and finish their business, and then ... Smiling, Maggie tried to focus on what you typed. What else wanted to do was play in the arms of her lover and tell him your plans, how changed his mind and now longed to be able to stay with him while continuing to work. - Ready! - Maggie let out a sigh. - I finished. How are alpacas? Finn, what happened? Why are you looking at me like that?

- Our relationship will not work, Maggie. - He looked away, knowing that if the face him, reveal what you'd soul. The only thing that would not be begging for Maggie to stay with him, to desist from working in the capital to live there in the field. After all, I knew what the answer it. Maggie was stunned to hear that comment and the hostility he saw the Finn's face. He tried to speak, but I knew that if I said one syllable it was, would fall immediately cry. Preferred silence. He had expected to hear him say that he loved her, talking about how important it out last night for him. Like any passionate person, Maggie wanted to hear words to confirm that Finn also loved her, never let her go. However, spoke of disruption, said the romance between the two would not never right. Desperate, Maggie tried to get an explanation, unable to accept resigned rejection. - But what happened then ... - I felt the dry throat and could not finish the sentence. - In bed, the chemistry between us is explosive, without a doubt. We can not deny that. I never ... - Finn stopped, his face showing a look of weariness and sadness. - Never what? - Maggie challenged to verbalize all that thought, though he could hear things that would hurt your heart even more. - Never met a woman so eager to lie to you?

She managed a smile of pride and defiance. - Like having sex is not a crime, Finn. Men do it all the time. That had the effect of a stab in his own hopes. But would not help in any way that Finn found out how he felt, actually. How could deceive, to cheat as to imagine the future they would enjoy side by side? Outside foolish enough to believe that meant a lot to him. Just because Finn was looking at her in a special way, it made her feel loved ... His hands shook as he closed the notebook and put it back in the bag. - Well, the snow almost stopped falling, right? There is no reason for me to stay here longer. - You have not forgotten anything? - Finn asked as she ran toward the exit. For a moment, Maggie thought he had tested without realizing that made her suffer greatly from the cruelty of what he said, but when he returned, he saw that he would not make a declaration of love. - I forgot what? - He asked in a low voice. - Not yet decided the situation of the Dower House. "He wants to discuss it now!" Maggie looked at him stunned. Finn was furious with himself for being so foolish. Knew I had to settle on the rent of Dower have to not risk to find it again. Even if Maggie was visiting Grandma and would eventually find it, there would always be a way to avoid it.

Maggie tried to answer, keeping control of the situation to avoid a whimper. - Want to make it clear that I can not stay in the Dower house with my supposed and non-existent lover? I agree, no problem. You can rest assured, I will never be hosted there. - But you will want to visit his grandmother - Finn said dryly. He thought she was making excuses to review it? Only the pride he felt did not make her collapse in tears. - Yes, that's obvious, but I will not. I do not intend to impose my unwelcome presence to you, Finn. Can I combine with Grandma meetings in London. - And he turned the knob. Maggie ignored the chill that blizzard left and ran to the car. Finn was still time to change your mind and stop her from leaving, saying he could not live without it. Maggie, for a few seconds, he believed it would happen and looked back. Finn spotted standing at the threshold, only a few steps away from her. Maggie left, finally, the tears escorressem your eyes. What he had said? That their relationship would never work ... Other than that? Finn did not want her around, rejected it. Out exhaustive. There remained Maggie no other option but to leave, get away from him, trying to keep his pride intact. And pride was all she had left. His heart torn out.

CHAPTER IX

Christmas was coming, and Maggie had hoped to be able to offer Dower house as a Christmas gift to Arabella. This, of course, if lawyers for Finn and Maggie arranged acertassem all roles, establish a rental, prepare the contract. Maggie Shropshire left vowing never to return there, nor would contact Finn anywhere else. Dower decided to give up, but was visiting her grandmother and had been very worried about his health. Arabella Russell was thinner, fragile and unhappy. - I really miss her grandfather - had confessed to Maggie. - This home feels so empty without him ... without his excitement, joy and love of life. Phil was my strength, Maggie. Now, without your company ... Arabella not completed the sentence and looked at her granddaughter with such sadness that Maggie had taken a decision. Full of anxiety, decided to take some steps. One would be to write a letter to Finn, telling about Grandma and how changed his mind, deciding to accept the offer it. He had been thinking about the surprise that Finn would have to get the message, the frown he would do to read what Maggie had written. Finn replied with an e-mail, which startled a lot, because he always said do not want to deal with a computer. In the email, saying that was busy with the

restoration of the main house and the land, and that ended thinking that a computer it would be helpful. So I come to use it. Knowing that her grandmother would want to spend the Christmas holidays with her, as he always did, go to church and visit her husband's grave, Maggie thought it best just to inform you rented the Dower House at the time of exchanging gifts. So the grandmother could move there after the holidays. He decided to put together an album with photos of grandparents lived when still in Dower. Searching in old photos of boxes of Arabella portraits in which the couple appeared in the gardens of the house, young and happy. Hidden, pick up the pictures and decided to write to Finn asking to send him a current photo of Dower. Nothing had yet arrived in the mail, but Maggie expected to arrive in time to complete the album. Also sent enlarge a photo of his grandfather, who put together. Without saying why, Maggie began to ask Arabella about the time she'd been in the Dower House. I was hoping that by reliving those memories, the grandmother could take away some of the unhappiness she experienced. Arabella commented enthusiastically on the favorite rose Phil cultivated in those gardens. Maggie searching identify the rose, and Gayle had found her an address where she could buy seedlings. Maggie visited the company, explained the reason for having to arrange that particular rose, and had promised to send the seedlings at the time she wanted.

Maggie expect that the grandmother was already installed in the Dower to ask for such roses. The company even had given him as a gift a manual on roses, and Maggie would give the Arabella along with the album. Gayle was even an efficient worker, and helped Maggie those personal matters. Deserved, of course, a Christmas bonus. Maggie was shocked when Gayle commented that she seemed different since his return trip. Gayle noticed that the boss walked distracted and not showing quite so enthusiastic about the business. Well, first she thought only of the work. I wanted to achieve maximum success in your profession. After meeting with the Finn and suffer heartbreak, however, he could not concentrate on what he was doing. The whole time his thoughts turned to Finn, recalling the times when they had been side by side, the caresses and kisses exchanged. Maggie winced and put on her coat, how to dress something hot depart memories that espicaçavam that way. That night would have dinner with one of his customers. Before, I was excited about these encounters, but now discouragement was immense. Rather can be alone with his melancholy. However, could not escape that commitment. Belle Jensen was about mid-forties and was divorced. While still married, she heard her husband boast that he was the responsible for the success of the company that had set up, but when he tried to manage it alone, after separation, the business began to go wrong, and Belle bought its share of company. Now,

everything was going so well that she wanted to expand and set up a subsidiary in the United States. Maggie liked Belle, and at any other time would have been satisfied with the prospect of spending hours in his company. However, only accepted her invitation because he thought it was. Continue in that sorrow for a long time? Was being very difficult to accept the fact Finn have rejected it. Also his parents had done it in the past. I did not want to see herself as a victim, however. I had to fight not to end up thinking that it was suffering more and more rejection by the people he loved. As might be expected, Belle chose one of the busiest restaurants in London for dinner. - I love your dress! - Belle exclaimed, going to meet Maggie in the establishment of the entry. - How slimmed down, girl! You have done or fitness regime? I walked into a gym but still neither lost weight one gram. Maggie just smiled, without explaining the real reason for his rapid weight loss. He lost the hunger, ate very little, lived only feeding on memories. The restaurant was full, and Maggie could recognize some artists sitting at a table and a famous host of a television channel to another. - You said you had a serious issue to talk to me, Belle. The waiter led them to a table that had wandered.

- Maggie, you know very well how American companies have settled here in our capital, is not it? Maggie nodded, silent. - I'm thinking very seriously to transfer my business to the United States, but my people do not want to leave England. So I had the idea of maintaining unity here and leave it under his direction. - But Belle, you know that my business is another. - Do not reject my offer so quickly. Consider about it, Maggie. - Belle appeared anxious. - See, there's talent to take my place and as for my employees, you're the same who discovered them. Financially will gain more than they earn now. We can be partners, just imagine! Belle interrupted the conversation and looked with interest at a nearby table that where they were. - Maggie, be discreet and look to the side. There's the sexiest man I've seen to this day. Is accompanied, alas ... Without a doubt, it is my type. Maggie turned in the direction indicated Belle and froze, not believing what he saw. The man referred to was Finn Belle Gordon! Finn was in London in the place which he hated, and dinner with a very modern woman, an executive at the right place. It was dark, elegant and smiled at Finn as if it were the most important creature in the world! - Are you okay? - Belle turns to Maggie looked scared.

- Sure, sure ... just I remembered that he had an appointment and had forgotten it. We'll have dinner another day. - And my company? Promise you'll think about my offer? - Yes, I will, Belle. Now I have to go. Forgive me, yes? Maggie was desperate to get out of there before Finn saw her. He grabbed her purse, kissed Belle and left the place almost running. Finn tried not to show impatience he felt while listening to small talk to Tina, his attorney in the case of renting the Dower House. Tina said that the papers were not ready, explaining he wanted to put all the necessary clauses to be no unpleasant surprises in the future. Finn barely heard what she said, because she thought of Maggie. Had taken many photos of Dower, given the request she had made him, and now, instead of sending them by post, decided to deliver them personally. Actually, it was an excuse to see her, of course. - I can not believe you came out of its hole and came to London! - Tina giggled. Then he noticed that Finn seemed too distracted. - Hello, Finn. What planet are you? - He asked, half annoyed. - I'm sorry. But you said ... - ... That the agreement is almost ready. Paul is taking care of it. Paul was Tina's husband, and his partner, the Finn met while working in London.

- Did you know that walked thinking of moving to the field also? We have many customers there it might be better to be closer to them. - Tina stopped, because it distracted looking at a woman who went to the restaurant in a hurry. Finn followed her gaze and saw Maggie. She had been so close! I could hardly believe it. - Finn, what is it? - Nothing, Tina. I do not want to rush you, but I'm a little late for a meeting. He had seen Maggie. Finn felt his heart fired. She was dining with another woman, and know that there was another man left him elated. Great silly, but that's how it felt. The pain of missing that Maggie made her did not diminish over time. Instead. Had been suffering love, live without it was even worse. Do not be content, however, to be a secondary concern for Maggie. She gave more importance to career, this was the reality. The wanted most in life was that Maggie loved him as he loved her, with the same intensity, with the desire to make a commitment forever. Tina handed her some papers, and the Finn saved in the folder. Inside were photos of Dower and decided to deliver them immediately. He closed the folder, stood up and said goodbye to Tina kissing her on the cheek.

He decided not to call Maggie saying he was going to his apartment. At the very least, I would not want to receive it. So it was best to make a surprise. In front of the restaurant, she took a taxi and indicated where he wanted to go. He was praying that Maggie had come straight home, and not go find someone else.

Once entered, Maggie took off his coat, threw aside her purse and took off his shoes. It went straight to the kitchen, ready to prepare something to eat. He opened the freezer and tried not to count how many chilli pots prepared in recent weeks. Making chilli become a kind of addiction that comforted her and reminded her that was still an independent woman, as always intended to be. Nonsense! Prepare chilli made her think of Finn and as yet still loved it. The doorbell rang, interrupting his conjectures. It should be your neighbor, who had found a new boyfriend and wanted to tell the news. Somewhat annoyed, Maggie stopped what he was doing and went to answer it. It was not the neighbor. Finn was, right in front of it. How he managed to convince the doorman to let it rise interfonar without warning her that someone wanted to see her? Finn actually told an amazing story to the boy, saying it was a family friend, who knew Maggie's grandmother. All this plus a tip facilitated his entry.

Maggie looked at Finn trying to kill the miss him. So often visualized her face, her serious look, his voice hoarse, his muscular chest, her tight jeans ... Unable to stop looking at him, he blushed. Why would not give it? After all, Finn was not with a woman in the restaurant? She should do the same and get a boyfriend. - I brought the photos you asked me. Dower of the house. I was afraid that if extraviassem if they came in the mail, then, as was to London, I decided to give them at hand. - Yes, I saw him at the restaurant - Maggie muttered, trying to regain control. - I wondered to see him with a woman who seems to be here. After all, is not so averse so by London's girls, right? Only implies to some ... - I was the attorney who prepares the lease of Dower. I met while living in the capital. - Oh, I see ... Thanks for the photos. Now please go away. - You really want me to go, Maggie? And I ... - Please, we have nothing to talk about. Get out. If not happened yet account, we are in London, and here we have floods or blizzards. Therefore, we will not be forced to stay together locked in my apartment. No sooner had she finished speaking, the light went out of the building, and Maggie groaned, distraught. Always had horror of being in the dark as a child. I began to panic when he heard the voice of Finn and sighed with relief:

- Nothing happens in London, huh? - He joked. - Must be a fuse that burned. - Maggie tried, the cost control. - It seems to me to be a blackout. - Finn walked to the window. - See, it's not only in your building. Is a darkness around the neighborhood. I do not see a light even, or at a distance. Maggie felt worse. He began to shake violently, but when he felt that Finn had approached her, tried to pretend that all was well. - We do not have blackouts here, Finn. - There is also no floods there in my river, or blizzard in November ... - Finn spoke sarcastically. - Like it or not, I will not leave here before the light returns. Maggie had put it out of there, but thanked heaven to know that would not be alone. - I'm sure you would prefer to keep company with their attorney instead of having to stay here with me. - I told you I'm just her friend. By the way I am more a friend of her husband. Both are attorneys. Maggie was glad to be in the dark, because it was red. Deep down, he was glad that there was nothing between Finn and that girl. - Still, no need to stay here. - Although pray that Finn was stubborn as ever and not to listen.

- You can lose hope, do arredarei one foot of this apartment. I will not leave alone in darkness. Maggie's heart beat faster as he felt that he looked concerned about their welfare. Even Finn got out of there and she closed the door, at least he would remain in the lobby waiting for the electricity to come back. - Do you have any sailing, Maggie? - Yes I have. Several. They are in the kitchen. Maggie was nervous at the thought he would have to go up there groping, nothing to see. Rather stay where he was, even if it was in the dark. He waited for Finn insisted on searching the candles, but he took her hand, gently. - Come together there. You go ahead, and I follow right behind - he said, looking to pass him confidence. Maggie closed her eyes, took a deep breath and walked through trembling with relief because Finn was so close that it amounted to bump into your body. He was protecting her, giving her the courage and strength that so desperately needed. He opened the kitchen cabinet where he kept decorative candles along with a box of matches. When he turned to give all the Finn, their bodies touched, and Maggie she felt so insecure that toppled the matches. Both ducked at the same time, and Maggie could feel the warmth of his breath on her face. Lost concentration and just thought that was again next to the Finn and snuggle.

He fought against this weakness that enveloped and rose quickly. Finn could be kind and stick with it because of fear that Maggie had the dark, but by no means would be deceiving and finish telling you how thought to be living in the countryside, reconciling work and marriage. He could not reveal who changed his mind and did not think that important to live in London. With a computer, you could work from home and play business. Maggie sighed. The Finn would say if she also spoke of the loneliness of their empty nights, how he missed him, since his return to the capital? As sleep took to arrive and she rolled the bed thinking about him, wishing I was beside her? What would be the reaction if Maggie Finn was sincere about to ask you to hold her and take her to bed? Finn lit the candle, and the kitchen has gained an air of sensuality and romance. He looked around breathing deeply. - You've been preparing chilli, Maggie? - Why? I can not? - Maggie put on the defensive. - It turns out that I think good. It is not your business what I cook. - I hope you're planning to market the dish. There is enough here to feed an army. I hope at least you've learned to cook better. Maggie took a deep breath, but decided not to give you an answer in kind. - You are barefoot - Finn said, surprised. - How is baixinha without her high heels!

- I'm not low, no! - Maggie denied indignantly. - Oh yes, you are! - Finn countered with affection. - It's short and stubborn and ... Finn dropped the candle on the table and approached her. Maggie started to panic again and stepped back, leaning on the table and knocking over the candle. Finn immediately put out the blaze, which was spreading quickly, and the two returned to being in the dark. Maggie could not control himself and let out a little scream. - Maggie, what happened? Are you okay? - No, I'm not - confessed to him. - I hate the dark. I'm so scared ... In the stillness that followed, Maggie repented for having shown its weakness. Now Finn would think she was a fool. Still, he groaned again. - I'm scared and ... - And I'm terrified of spiders - Finn interrupted, speaking truthfully. - They Metem me an incredible fear. I even have nightmares about them ... In the darkness, Maggie heard only the breathing Finn. Imagine you fear something, and above admit it, disturbed. She wanted to hug him. - And after all, you may end up with the dark lighting a candle. With spiders is different.

Without knowing what he was doing, Maggie stepped toward him. - How about you protect me of spiders and I protect her from the dark? Finn suggested. He should have approached her too, because his breath was right next to his ear. Immediately embraced her, and her lips were closer ... - Do you think this is a good idea? - Maggie whispered, unable to move away, because Finn's mouth touched her face, and it was difficult to think logically. - I think that's the best idea, honey. - Finn wrapped around the waist and began to kiss her. Maggie felt as if floating, his body was wrapped again by the sense of pleasure he felt in other occasions. - Oh, Maggie, if you knew how I've missed you, how much desire! - He felt a strong emotion too. Finally, he had the beloved woman back into his arms. The only answer she could give was half open lips to receive the kiss. Even hovering between them so many misunderstandings, Maggie tried to leave everything behind and just enjoy the moment with both dreamed. I was Finn! His fingers touched the beloved face, circled his eyes, ran his fingers over his neck. His body awoke in a sensuality that had been dormant in recent times.

With an urgency that shocked the two, Maggie Finn stripped and took off his own clothes. She helped him, unbuttoning his belt buckle and make the jeans. They felt a need to lay their burning skin, feeling the pleasures known and always desired. - As you are wonderful, Maggie! Its scent is still on my bed and make me crazy, you know? Every time I close my eyes, I see her next to me, and I want to touch her as before, but you some, and I find myself alone and devastated. You are the air I breathe, Maggie. No one thought of mine that is not present, my dear, my life ... The words he uttered with so much love Maggie led to a state of ecstasy. Their willingness to be owned by Finn increased, and she closed her eyes in delight. - Tell me more, Finn ... - There is nothing that is as important to me as you, Maggie. Kiss me, darling. Show me you feel the same as me - Finn pleaded, but before she could say anything, he was kissing her, covering her mouth to quench his uncontrollable lust. The darkness that moments before the terrified now was a kind of sensuous ally. In the dark, via free to lay out everything that felt. They made love savagely, without many caresses. They would be for later. Maggie wanted Finn calm his desire to be possessed, and he wanted to be inside her. Later they would have time for amorous play. When Finn penetrated, Maggie realized how much longed for it.

They reached the climax at the same time. Still, Finn did not let go, as if afraid it was only a vision and could suddenly disappear. Maggie tried to force herself to stop shaking now that happened in fact what both wanted. The dream had become reality. - Maggie, Maggie ... - Finn rubbed his face as if wanting to see it even in the darkness that surrounded them. - Are you crying, dear? I want ... The light returned at that time, interrupting what he was saying. Maggie could see the marks that her nails had left the Finn's shoulders. Not managed to curb the urge to touch it at the time of love. He watched the floor and saw the clothes had been thrown everywhere in the rush to disrobe. I was amazed, wondering how he could have lost all control and surrendered completely to the passion. I had to swallow his pride and tell Finn that his life without it meant nothing. Would make any sacrifice to be with the man she loved. The intensity of her emotions made her weak. Had gone too far, he thought, wanting to be in bed and being able to cover his head, hiding his shame. No, that was not true. I wanted to go to bed with Finn, making love again, I heard him say that he loved her. But he did not love her, that was the truth. The Finn said was merely the excitement of the moment.

- You can not stay here, Finn. Want you to go - Maggie wore his clothes and quickly averted her gaze to not read what the eyes of Finn said. Finn also dressed. - Maggie ... - he began, but she would not listen. He feared his words. Was entering into a state of despair and thought of asking the Finn to take her with him, that was part of his destiny. But I could not do it. He would make to reject it. He walked into the room and sat down on the couch, not knowing what to do. Finn followed her, cursing himself. Of course Maggie wanted him to leave because he possessed almost by force. I should have gone more slowly? Descontrolara up to smell her perfume, to touch her body. He spent much time thinking about how it would take it again to himself that when he had the opportunity, quench your desire savagely. Maggie got up from the couch and walked from one side to the other, looking anxious for him to leave. - Maggie, wait ... I have here in the folder the rental contract that Tina prepared. And here are the photos ... - As he spoke, Finn sought among the papers the pictures and the document. Maggie stopped walking and stared at him. In Finn hurry dropped the folder and all that was in it spread across the floor. Maggie watched him silently as he gathered everything. Suddenly, among the papers, he saw that one had apartments selling advertisements in London. - Is planning to buy a property here? - He asked, unable to hide his curiosity.

- I was, Maggie. - Finally, he looked at her. - Look, I have to tell you something. I did not want to be a secondary concern in your life. I thought it best not to see her more than meet her only in his spare time. However, the lack that've been meaning to you made me change my position. Accept anything, I will content myself up with little to have her with me, if only occasionally. So I decided to buy an apartment in London and have a chance to ... if you accept me ... I could come and spend the weekend in the city, and so ... Maggie did not let him finish speaking. - You do this for me ?! Buy an apartment in the city that hates just to see me? - To have your love, Maggie, I'll do whatever it takes. Will dwell in London, let it go the farm, whatever it is. I suffer too far from you, my love. - Oh, Finn! She ran into his arms, and Finn kissed her passionately. - You will do it, Maggie? Let me into your life and share a part of your time with me? - We'll meet on weekends you come to London? - Maggie was looking at him in the eye. Maggie could see that there was hope and pain in the Finn's face, and it touched her heart. He could tell that he loved her, but did not need. She saw love in her expression.

- Yes, Maggie. Do you agree? - No - Maggie said, calmly, shaking his head. - You do not want me? - Finn turned pale and was distressed. - But Maggie, I thought ... - began, but she put her finger to her lips, interrupting him. - No, Finn, you have said what he meant. Now it's my turn. I felt so jealous tonight, when I saw him at the restaurant with another woman! I was so unhappy when he decided to tell me that nothing could work out between us ... remember? He said that there on the farm when it was snowing and ... - At that moment I thought I would go crazy finding you only occasionally. Afraid to meet with other men when she was away from me. - Turns out I thought you did not want me, Finn - Maggie whispered. - I was so excited about an idea he had and I was expecting you back so I could say that ... She stood nervously. - You were going to tell me what, Maggie? - Ah, yes ... I had concluded that it would be working in Shrewsbury, using the computer, and only come to London from time to time. Intended to stay with you in the field. I thought I could balance work and marriage ... - Why do not you tell me then? Maggie looked at him adoringly.

- Let me finish, Finn. I understood that you were rejecting me, as my parents had done. - Reject you? - Finn closed his eyes and took a deep breath. - After we made love? Are you telling me we lost all this time when we are in love, more than a month, just because wrong understood my feelings? - He looked at her in surprise. - I spent every day and every night suffering, wanting to have her around. My God, Maggie! Can you imagine what I went through? - You can be sure that yes - Maggie admitted, frankly. Still I could not believe what I was hearing. Knowing that Finn loved her made her feel different, strange, euphoric. - I was prepared to work in Shrewsbury just to be with me? - Finn asked in a tone that revealed his fear for having perhaps misunderstood what she had said. - It makes sense, does not it? People who love put love in the foreground. In my profession, it is important for me to stay in touch with my clients, and with a computer all this is possible. - So the computer is giving a chance we can get together? - Finn spoke with a hint of challenge. - Not only that - Maggie breathed with relief and kissed his chin. - I will not have to wear boots and despise all my high heels, right? -. We may not get a designer to design your boots. - Finn stamped a huge smile.

- If so, fine! - Maggie laughed elated because he returned to kiss her. - So, all right - Finn repeated hoarsely. The desire became to master it.

EPILOGUE

- Finn, what you're doing - Maggie asked. They had married was about six hours, had left the church to the sound of the wedding march from Handel, happy, laughing for no reason. Now, having brought Arabella to the Dower House, followed the path of the airport towards a very tropical island. They wanted the honeymoon honeymoon was perfect, magical even. But instead of going towards the airport, Finn had taken a shortcut and was going ... Maggie looked stunned when he recognized the road. They went to the place where your car will jam, months ago! When Finn stopped the Land Rover which had just bought in the middle of the river that now was quite shallow, Maggie turned to him accusingly. He wore a silk linen and Italian shoes, of course. - I will not get wet, am I? - The first time we met, I wanted a lot to do one thing and regretted it after not having done it - Finn explained. His pupils shone, and Maggie felt her heart beat faster.

- What could have been? - Taunted him, guessing what it was. If Finn had just kissed the first time they met, much of the suffering they had to endure might not have happened. Now they were married, and one other respect each other. - This! - Finn jumped out of the vehicle, opened the door on the other side and took Maggie in his arms, laughing while kissing her. At first she struggled, afraid to mess dress and shoes. - Finn ... - started to protest. I knew he would not let her get hurt or make her bored. Now Finn was kissing her with an overwhelming passion, and Maggie stopped struggling in his arms. - How do you dare to risk your beautiful, wonderful neck trying to cross the river at that ridiculous car ?! When I think what could have happened to you ... Finn groaned and going to kiss her again when she saw Maggie started to laugh. What now? - My beautiful shoes fell from my feet ... - Very well. But this time you will not be able to escape me, girl! Maggie whispered a few words to his ear. - You are without shoes and without what else ?! - He asked anxiously.

- He heard all right, my boy ... - Maggie laughed. - Anyway, I never would try to run away from you, Finn. I love you so ... - Not as much as I - said softly. - No contest, right? I love you as much as you love me. Combined? Is that okay? - I'm glad that we reached an agreement. Now, woman, say what you are using underneath that wedding outfit! Maggie laughed, naughty. I loved to provoke Finn ... - Did you see how Grandma was happy in the Dower House? - Maggie asked when, at last, decided to resume the way to the airport. - And you will get even more when we get back from the honeymoon, honey and we tell her the news. They exchanged loving glances. Maggie discovered she was pregnant and had decided to tell Arabella Russell it would be great-grandmother only after return of the trip. Finn had been ecstatic to learn that would be father and confessed to Maggie that she was giving her the most wonderful gift in the world. - As I said, you are an old-fashioned man who wants to keep his wife barefoot and pregnant as well! - No! - Finn corrected, with an intense affection. - What I want, all I want is to make you happy, Maggie.

- Well, now everything is in place. - The cherub smiled, congratulating to recruit angel. - I thought we were going to have to resort to new phenomena of nature to unite those two stubborn! - I no longer know what to invent. We had to cause flood, blizzard, blackout ... But finally it worked out. Also, we both did almost the impossible. I go not tell my boss that shuffled the cards, huh? After all, they were destined to other loves, but I left them more than happy, right? I bet it would not go well if he had attached to certain candidates. - Since you're all the same shuffled, we have more work ahead, recruit. Tell then who is next couple. We did not even use of wind, which is the specialty of my friend Zephyr ... - Well, let the list! - The recruit decided confident. It could be cumbersome, but it was great to be a cupid!
