PDS Release Bulletin The PDS Release Bulletin collects in a single document a list of all user documentation for the release. In addition, this bulletin describes the changes to the previous versions of the documentation, allowing users to quickly see what has changed in the release. The documentation updates also appear in the Help files delivered with PDS, which are accessible from within PDS or in the \win32app\ingr\pdshell\help folder.

PDS Documentation Set ®
The PDS documentation set is available as Adobe PDF files. The content of the PDF files is the same content as online Help. The documentation set is divided into four categories: Administrative guides contain information about installing, configuring, customizing, and troubleshooting PDS. Users' guides provide command reference and how-to information for working in each PDS task. Reference data guides define the reference data workbooks. Not all tasks have reference data. ISOGEN guides.
Administrative Guides
DPDS3-PB-200010 - PDS 3D Theory User's Guide — Explains the basics of working in a 3D PDS modeling environment. Includes project organization working in 3D, database overview, reference data overview, how PDS works, transferring data from 2D to 3D, deleting and managing interferences, creating MTOs, extracting isometric drawings, and creating orthographic drawings. Also includes information on reporting and format files. DPDS3-PE-200016 - PDS Express Project Creation Quick Start Guide — Provides detailed instructions on how to use the Express Project Creation utility to set up PDS projects. Describes how to use the New User mode to create a project that follows a relatively simple, standard structure and the Advanced User mode to create a customized project. Also included is a description of the format and a printout of the delivered express.txt file. DPDS3-PB-200023 - PDS Project Setup Technical Reference — The PDS Project Setup Technical Reference is designed as an aid for students attending the PDS Project Setup Workshop presented by the Intergraph Corporation Education Center and is a supplement to the standard product documentation. It is structured according to the course outline and can be used as a study guide. This document is not intended to serve as comprehensive reference. DPDS3-PB-200030 - Project Administrator (PD_Project) Reference Guide — This document is a reference guide for the Project Administrator module of the PDS 3D products. DPDS3-PE-200031 - Project Engineer HVAC Getting Started Guide — Explains everything you need to know to get started, including software installation, configuration, and starting and exiting the software. In addition, the product graphical user interface and Help are also described. DPDS3-PE-200050 - Batch Services Quick Start Guide —Describes how to install, configure, and use Intergraph Batch Services on a computer running the Microsoft Windows operating system.

DPDS3-PB-200004 - Drawing Manager (PD_Draw) User's Guide — Provides plant designers and drafters with a guide to using the Drawing Manager which defines orthographic drawings based on information in the 3D models for the project. It describes the forms interface used

DPDS3-PB-200006 - Interference Checker/Manager (PD_Clash) User's Guide — Describes the forms interface to the Interference Checker/Manager (PD_Clash) software. Provides information on creating interference envelopes for PDS 3D models, checking for interference between models, and managing approved interference for a project. Also includes information on how interference checking affects and is affected by various database tables. DPDS3-PE-200008 - Material Data Publisher Help File — Windows Help file describing the Material Data Publisher tool. This Help file contains information also found in the PD_Report User's Guide. DPDS3-PE-200009 - PDS 3D Help File — Windows Help file containing information from all PDS 2D, PDS 3D and FrameWorks Plus user documentation. DPDS3-PB-200015 - PDS Equipment Modeling (PD_EQP) User's Guide — Provides information to engineers and operators on how to create and manipulate equipment and equipment components (including nozzles). Also provides limited information concerning the Equipment Modeling interface to other products including EDEN and Piping. DPDS3-PB-200025 - PDS Stress Analysis Interface (PD_Stress) User's Guide — Allows designers and draftsmen to generate neutral files from three-dimensional piping models that are created by PDS Modeling Packages. The resulting neutral files can be used as input for Third-Party stress analysis packages. DPDS3-PE-200032 - Project Engineer HVAC Overview — Provides a conceptual overview of the product. The topics covered in this document are a brief history of the product, a discussion of the general approach to using the product, key concepts introduced in the product, a basic workflow that charts some typical paths through the product, and information on the other products that integrate with this application. DPDS3-PB-200035 - Report Manager (PD_Report) User's Guide — Describes the forms interface for the Report Manager used to define reporting criteria and run material take-offs on a piping or equipment model. It also provides general information on reporting, common to all the PDS 3D tasks. It describes the MTO process including information on the determination of implied materials. DPDS3-PE-200052 - PDS Ortho Draw User's Guide - Describes how to install, configure, and use PDS Ortho Draw to create piping, HVAC, and electrical drawings. DPDS3-PE-200045 - PDS Label Library Merger Utility — Describes using this utility to copy labels from one or two label description libraries into another library, to modify the destination library as necessary, and to add and remove labels. DPDS3-PE-200046 - PDS Queue Creation — Describes using the Queue Creation dialog box to create and modify PDS batch and pipe queues. DPDS3-PE-200047 - PDS Reference Data Auditing Tool — Describes how PDS users can audit and report the discrepancies between the active project reference database and an archived dataset, transfer data over an FTP connection (so that the project database and archive dataset can reside at different PDS project sites), and maintain data integrity among models and drawings at different workshare sites. DPDS3-PE-200048 - Pipe Supports Explorer Utility — Describes the Windows look and feel interface that allows creation of Pipe Support construction drawings using the SmartSketch Automation. DPDS3-PE-200051 - Batch Services User's Guide — Describes using Intergraph's Batch Services for Windows. This system service provides tools for the management and execution of non-interactive tasks. The batch system is fully networked, and provides connectivity to other batch servers.

DPDS3-PB-200003 - DesignReview Integrator (PD_Review) Reference Guide — Provides an intelligent link between PDS and the DesignReview package. You can use DesignReview to walk through a PDS model in full shaded mode to review the design and alphanumeric data. DPDS3-PB-200005 - EE Raceway Modeling Reference Guide — Provides engineers with step-by-step descriptions of the EE Raceway commands and processes used to design, modify, and model electrical raceway systems in a three-dimensional environment. Includes the basic workflow for creating an electrical raceway model. Separate sections outline the preparation and responsibilities for the system and/or application manager. DPDS3-PB-200013 - PDS EDEN Interface Reference Guide Volume I : Piping — Describes how to design user-specific parametric symbols and forms for piping specialty items. Provides explanations and examples of syntax, subroutines, and keywords used to write the EDEN source codes. Instructions for manipulating the symbol definitions in the Graphic Commodity Library are also provided. DPDS3-PB-200041 - PDS EDEN Interface Reference Guide Volume 2 : Equipment — The symbol processor is the Eden code that defines an equipment component. It calls all the subroutines or modules that activate forms, check input data, assign placement points, and place graphics. DPDS3-PB-200042 - PDS EDEN Interface Reference Guide Volume 3 : Pipe Supports — The symbol processor is the Eden code that defines a pipe support. It calls all the subroutines or modules that activate forms, check input data, assign placement points, and place graphics. DPDS3-PB-200022 - PDS Piping Component Data Reference Guide — This document provides information on the piping reference database. It includes a glossary of terms, general database conventions, variables used in symbols and tables; discussions on piping commodities, fire and safety, piping specialty, piping support, instrument specialty, operators and actuators, piping markers, piping connectors, and assemblies; symbols; commodity code descriptions; calculations from ANSI standards; code lists. DPDS3-PB-200026 - Pipe Supports Modeler Reference Guide — This document is a reference guide for the Pipe Support Design module of the PDS 3D products. The Piping Support Design module is specifically designed to provide recording Pipe Support Reference Data, Pipe Support 3D Graphic Modeling and Pipe Support Drawing Production capabilities. What's New in Project Administrator (PD_Project) The following changes have been made to Project Administrator. Version 2011 (V12) Equipment attributes can be added to a project after the project has been setup. For more information, see Revise Project - Add Attributes. (P1 PB:100708) Added a table for reserved words that cannot be used in ddl files. For more information, see Reserved Words Table. (P3 PB:120483) The labels.xml and SPFConfiguration.xls files are now included during project archival and retrieval. (PB: 111653) DRV and ENV files are now included during scheduled imports.

What's New in PDS HVAC (PE_HVAC) The following changes have been made to PDS HVAC: Version 2011 (V12) When using the pehmscmd.filter, some copy commands do not work. See Filter MSTN Commands and Customizing PE-HVAC. (P1 PB: 91197) You can easily create MicroStation macro for auxiliary coordinate systems. See Create a MicroStation Macro for Auxiliary Coordinate Systems. (P2 PB: 111704) Insulation is now modeled separately from the duct objects in the model. One envelope is created for the duct, and a separate envelope is created for the insulation. Clashes with the insulation envelope are reported as soft clashes. (P2 PB:108872) PEHVAC checks for administrative privileges of the current user. For more information, see Configuring Your Project. Version 2011 (V12) Added model code RPADF in pdstress.tbl, caesarii.cde, triflex.cd, and adlpip.cde. (P2 PB:117189) Modified the mapping for NP in caesarii.cde, pdsstress.tbl, triflex.cde, and adlpipe.cde, and also modified STRT1 in caesarii.cde and pdstress.tbl as follows: Modified mapping of NIP, NIPIL, NIPL from PI to NP to enable PROP records. What's New in Report Manager The following changes have been made to Report Manager: Version 2011 (V12) Added a new relationship between pdtable_113 and pdtable_119. You can now report the Site ID for each model. For more information, see Indices for Project and Interference Reporting. (P2 PB:55591) The Site ID attribute is included in pdtable_101 of the MTO schema. (P3 PB:88003) MDP to support variable to define PEHVAC prj schema. What's New in Material Data Publisher Utility The following changes have been made to the Material Data Publisher Utility. Version 2011 (V12) PDS publishes hot-spotted isometrics for viewing and navigation in SmartPlant Foundation Desktop Client. PDS publishes Iso spools for viewing and navigation in SmartPlant Foundation Desktop Client. (CR PB:120151) PDS publishes PEHVAC models for viewing and navigation in SmartPlant Foundation Desktop Client. (CR PB:111066) Publish non PDS models as .zvf files. (CR PB:120328) wet_weight has been added as a user-defined attribute to tables 34, 50 and 67. The PDS Material Data Publishing chart has been updated to reflect this change. What's New in FrameWorks Plus This release of FrameWorks Plus contains the following new features. Version 2010 (V12) Environment variable FW_SDNF_NUMOFSOLIDS_PER_INSTANCE has been added to the config.dat file. You can use this environment variable to specify that a structural detailing neutral file is to be imported in multiple stages. See Read Steel Detailing Neutral File (P1 PB:108687) You can now export from FrameWorks Plus an individual model or all the models in a project using a command line key-in. For more information, see CIM Steel Export Key-in. (P1 PB: 17264) You can display and modify the ID of a specified model or all model IDs of a specified project using the showAndModifyModID command line key-in. You can easily create MicroStation macro for auxiliary coordinate systems. See Create a MicroStation Macro for Auxiliary Coordinate Systems. (P2 PB:111704) You can now run a MDL application or a macro on models in a project by using a command line key-in. For more information, see Model Batch Run Key-in. (P2 PB:111202) Center of gravity reports can support output of fireproofing weight. For more information, see Center of Gravity Reports.
