Hello! Here is the tablature and standard notation for the examples that I played in the “Silence Followed by a Deafening Roar” DVD. Barrett Tagliarino is an expert at making scores for guitar, so I asked him to help me. We sat down for several days, and Barrett carefully notated the details of my playing in order to communicate them accurately to you. I hope it helps to clarify any questions about the techniques and notes that I used. My demonstrations on this DVD may sometimes vary slightly from the tablature. Why? Because live musical demonstrations allow much greater musical freedom than writing specific, unchanging notes on paper. I tried to give you the most exciting and inspiring live performances, and I tried to give you the clearest, most readable tablature examples. In most cases, the two should match up exactly, but when in doubt, I chose to make the tablature closer to my inner intention (what I MEANT to play). Mostly, I am proud to offer you tablature that I worked on very directly and approved every step of the way. In other words, “Yes, I really played it like that!” Enjoy the music!
