Tip –Verify that you get response, when you run ‘ping em12’ command from Windows Start menuÆ Run. 2. From Firefox browser go to URL ‐ http://em12.oracle.com:7000/em Tip: You can bookmark the above URL (as EM 12c) for accessing EM later.
Note: Above instructions will work on Windows XP OS only. Windows 7 users – Make sure you open Notepad application via right‐click and select “Run as Administrator“.
C. Starting the lab environment By default Enterprise Manager should be running on VM. If not, contact lab instructor. Depending on the exercises you intend to do, you will start the lab targets by running the following scripts. Note: These scripts can also be run by lab administrator in advance. Please check with the instructor. Scripts to be run Lab (available under ‐ /home/oracle/scripts/) Lifecycle Management no scripts required. Framework and Database Management Middleware Management
1‐db_lab_start.sh 2‐mw_lab_start.sh Note: Middleware diagnostics runs every hour and diagnostics findings can take up to an hour to appear on charts. Therefore given lab start script should be run in advance accordingly.
D. Accessing the Linux terminal of EM 12c VM using ssh or VNC For running the script you can connect to the Linux VM using either ssh or VNC. Using ssh • In the Windows command prompt type – ssh em12 • Click OK on the warning dialog. • Login using oracle / oracle12 Using VNC • Launch VNC viewer (Real VNC, UltraVNC, etc) • Provide following values o Server name : em12.oracle.com:1 o VNC Password : oracle12 o OS password : oracle12 Page 1 of 2
