Residua Residuall risks risks of succes successf sful ul steri steriliza lizatio tion n
Successful sterilization is supported by a number of measures: The process relevant relevant parameters (s (sterilization terilization temperature, sterilization time) for all the sterilization programs comply with the EN 285 standard. During program run the sterilizer automatically monitors all process--relevant process--relevant parameters. In the ever everyy---day day start---up up proc procedure edureof of the sterilizer sterilizer,, a routin routinee test (Bow (Bowieie---Dick Dick test) is performed by the operator. The sterile material is protected against recontamination by means of suitable packaging.
Nevertheless a trouble--free trouble--free sterilization program run is no guarantee for the sterility of the t he sterilized material. The following residual risks that might lead l ead to nonnon--sterility must be observed: Insufficiant cleaning and disinfection call the sterilization result into question. The effectiveness effectiveness of the sterilization progra program m for the actual load that is used by the operator can only be verified by way of validation. Insuffic Insufficient ient steam quality and leakages of the chamb chamber er can caus causee inster insterility ility.. Such critical states are not recorded by a sterilizer without IPC. They must be controlled by a BowieBowie--Dick -Dick test and a vacuum test. The Bowie--Dick Dick test carried out daily during putting into service proves only that steam penetration in the test pack was satisfactory when the test was carried out. Followed by program interruption chap. 5.2.1 ˚
Basically the same applies to disinfection (program 5) and the Bowie--Dick test

6 .1
General
Special care must be attached to repeated inspections and to regular maintenance of safety devices (pressure control devices) as well as of system components (closing mechanism and pressure vessel) in accordance with the regulations for pressure vessels and the AD sheet. A cycle counter is integrated in the control system. The current cycle number is al ways indicated on the display or monitor. The sterilizer is equipped with a maintenance counter. The cycle number, after which the first inspection and maintenance is to be performed, performed, is entered when the system sys tem is com commiss mission ioned ed (by MMM cus custome tomerr ser servic vice). e). Wh When en this cyc cycle le num number ber ist reached, the message Carry out maintenance is displayed in Program selection
mode and during program run on the display or the monitor. A new cycle number is entered, after which the next inspection and maintenance is to be carried out and the display is cleared from the screen. Depending on the extent of utilization, we recommend to have an inspection and maintenance after 800 cycles, at least however, once every six months.
Attention Attention
Important
During maintenance work below the door, the door must be secured against unintended activiation by screwing in the safety screw. The sterilizer must be switched off during maintenance work.
If the machine is not used for a period of more than 4 weeks or in case of the risk of frost, remove the locking screws at the bottom and drain the vacuum pump and circulation circu lation tank. Treat Treat the unit with antianti--freez -freezing ing agen agentt (MMM articl numbe numberr 604315--).
