5.2.1
Auxiliary Control Panel, General ( 2.2) Ensure that: –
all operating elements are freely accessible,
–
you know the significance of the functions selected when operating the machine,
–
the operating controls are not damaged during operation,
–
the auxiliary control panel is only cleaned with a commercially available spirit,
–
the ignition is switched off when connecting or disconnecting the power supply cables.
Procedure for connecting the control panel: –
To use the auxiliary control panel, you must disconnect the CAN power supply cable from the main control panel ( 3.2.1).
–
Remove the auxiliary control panel ( 2.2) from the storage compartment on the machine.
–
Connect the power supply and control cable ( 5.1.2) to the electrical connection on the main distributor and tighten the threaded plug. Switch on the operating voltage.
–
Turn the battery master switch to ON and the ignition switch to ON. Now sit on the LH operator's seat,
–
Hold the auxiliary control panel ( 5.1.2) in your hands and operate the machine.
If the main control panel ( 3) is not available, you can use the auxiliary control panel to operate the basic functions on the machine. All other functions can be operated on the screed control panels. Further information is contained in chapter 6, screed control panels LH & RH 6.3, auxiliary control.

5.2.2
Diesel Engine START ( 3.2.3) Fully acquaint yourself with all functions and return these functions to the neutral position before starting the Diesel engine. It is prohibited for persons to be in the danger zone.
Turn the key in the ignition switch on the main distributor from the neutral position (1) to the ignition position (2) and after a pause of approx. 2 sec., turn it to the start position (3) until the Diesel engine starts.
If the Diesel engine does not start, ensure that: the emergency STOP buttons have been released and the drive lever is in the neutral position. 5.2.3
Diesel engine speed ( 3.2.4) When starting a cold Diesel engine, let it run warm at a lower speed. At temperatures below 10 °C, the warming up phase will take approx. 5 – 10 min. Closely observe the instructions contained in the engine manufacturer's handbook.
After starting the Diesel engine, the so-called "boot process" for the electrics will take approx. 45 sec. Once the Diesel engine has started, its speed will automatically increase to a preset value.
You can now activate the functions on the auxiliary control panel ( 2.2).
135
5.2.4
Diesel engine STOP ( 3.2.5) Before stopping the Diesel engine, let it run at the preset speed without load for approx. 5 min to cool down.
Return the drive lever and all other working functions to the neutral position. Turn the key in the ignition switch from the ignition position (2) to the neutral position (1) to stop the Diesel engine.
After finishing work, stow the control panel in the storage compartment provided to protect it against vandalism. 5.2.5
Pressing / Releasing the Emergency STOP Button ( 3.2.7)
136
5.2.6
Releasing the Drive Lever, Forwards - Neutral - Reverse ( 5.1.2) / ( 3.2.8) Fully acquaint yourself with all functions and return these functions to the neutral position before actuating the drive lever (1). It is prohibited for persons to be in the danger zone.
Releasing the drive lever (1): Place two fingers underneath and on both sides of the knob and pull the drive lever upwards in direction (A). Keep the knob pulled upwards to move the drive lever (1) to and fro. Forward direction of travel: Release the drive lever (1) and move it forwards in direction (2). Neutral, parking position: To start and stop, you must release the drive lever (1) and return it to the parking position (4). Reverse direction of travel: Release the drive lever (1) and move it backwards in direction (3).
The drive lever (1) is only for selecting the forward or reverse direction of travel. It switches the travel drive on or off.
137
5.2.7
Selecting the Paving / Transport Speed Stage ( 5.1.2) / ( 3.2.9) Stop the machine to select the speed stage. Before starting the machine again, turn the speed potentiometer ( 5.2.8) to the required speed value within the speed stage selected.
Return the drive lever to the neutral position. Paving speed stage: Move the speed stage switch to the position (1). Transport speed stage: Move the speed stage switch to the position (2).
138
5.2.8
Speed potentiometer, SPEED INCREASE / REDUCE ( 5.1.2) / ( 3.2.10) Turn the speed potentiometer (1) to the required speed value before moving the machine. Ensure there are sufficient steering and braking properties in respect of the paving width of the screed mounted on the paver. Caution! There is a danger of serious injury caused by your body suddenly accelerating.
Speed stages: Paving speed stage = 0 – MAX. Transport speed stage = 0 – MAX. Increasing the speed: Turn the speed potentiometer (1) to the right. Reducing the speed: Turn the speed potentiometer (1) to the left.
The speed to be selected depends upon the paving conditions and the paving material. Altering the speed during paving work influences the compaction performance and the mat thickness.
139
5.2.9
Steering Potentiometer, Steering to the Left / Straight Ahead / Right ( 3.1.6) / ( 3.2.11) The paver will react differently depending on the load on the machine and its configuration. Keep an adequate safety distance to persons, buildings and other obstacles. It is prohibited for persons to be in the danger zone.
Steering to the left: Turn the steering potentiometer (1) from the neutral position to the left. Straight ahead travel: Turn the steering potentiometer (1) to the middle of the adjusting range. Steering to the right: Turn the steering potentiometer (1) from the neutral position to the right.
Low steering value = large steering radius. Large steering value = small steering radius.
140
5.2.10
Screed Raise / Lower ( 5.1.2) / ( 3.2.15) The paver will react differently depending on the load on the machine and its configuration. Keep an adequate safety distance to persons, buildings and other obstacles. It is prohibited for persons to be in the danger zone.
Switch off the floating mode on the screed control panel. Further information is contained in the screed menu chapter “Screed Menu”. To raise the screed: Move the switch (1) in the direction (2). To lower the screed: Move the switch (1) in the direction (3).
Secure the screed in the screed locking device for maintenance and transport purposes. To commence paving, lower the screed onto chocks of wood the same size as the mat to be paved. Take the degree of slump after final rolling into consideration.
141
5.2.11
Hopper Wings LH + RH, Open / Close ( 5.1.2) / ( 3.2.29) Keep away from moving and rotating machine components. It is prohibited for persons to be in the danger zone.
To open the LH & RH hopper wings: Move the switch (1) in the direction (3). To close the LH & RH hopper wings: Move the switch (1) in the direction (2). Depending on the load, the hopper wings will open and close at different speeds.
Both hopper wings will be operated simultaneously. Ensure the rear of the dump truck does not damage the hopper wings especially when cornering. Close and lock the hopper wings when transporting the paver or moving it around the job-site.

149
6.2.6 Tow Point Adjustment LH / RH, Raise / Lower continued
Each screed control panel controls its own side of the screed. Damage will occur on the screed if the tow points are adjusted to opposite limit stops, e.g. one tow point to the upper and one tow point to the lower limit stop. The maximum permissible difference in height between both mat thickness scales is 10 cm. When paving, ensure the levelling cylinders and consequently the tow points maintain an adequate distance to the upper and lower limit stops. This is necessary for the system to function correctly. Never operate the tow point adjustment when the screed is raised and secured in the screed transport locks otherwise damage will occur to the screed locking device.
