In January became COO of CPC, roof truss and component manufacturing business, to evaluate and reorganize (fix, close, sell) the business.  Successful start at re-organizing the business – Sales, Manufacturing, Design, Business Systems and Purchasing.  Achieved a 20% increase in efficiencies via time and motion and lean practices.  Increased gross profit by 10%.

Vice President of Operations

July 2013 to August 2014

JELD-WEN, Inc. – Klamath Falls, OR Improved the overall performance of 14 manufacturing facilities. 1 in the United Kingdom, 2 in South America, 5 in Canada, and 6 in the USA. Total revenue of $380 Million and material purchases of $230 Million. Board member of JELD-WEN South America.  Increased profits of our $15M Chilean Business from break-even to 15% net profit. JELD-WEN, Inc. - Sheffield, United Kingdom Enacted change, improving the operations of 24, culturally diverse, factories in 10 European Countries. Developed and led a Continuous Improvement Program in Europe.  Turnaround: Accomplished this turnaround by establishing and motivating a skilled team, transforming the business towards world-class performance, and driving customer loyalty. Results took a $35M factory from loss making to surpassing profit expectations in 18 months.  Developed and led a $20M annual Capital Expenditure budget for equipment.  Led a cross-functional continuous improvement team increasing productivity 10-40%.  Implemented scrap reduction programs resulting in material cost savings of $3.8M.  A key success to our improvement programs was integrating our material and equipment suppliers into our team; allowing us to develop better relationships, develop new products more effectively, while decreasing overall costs.  Led new product development, introducing higher margin products leading to $5M in increased sales for a new market segment.  Supply Chain/Sales Expertise: Completed a yearlong initiative with what is now our largest customer in Europe, a $50 million dollar account. To be awarded this 5-year contract, we had to prove to this potential customer that we could provide them with long-term security of supply, which meant a thorough vetting of our supply chain from raw material to finished product, internationally.
