Nowadays, education becomes one of the important things in human life. Most people are aware of the necessity of a higher education. In this present day with the technology there are more options to obtain education. Besides attending traditional schools, people can get an online education. Although there is a similarity between online education and traditional education, the differences between them are more noteworthy.

The major similarity between online education and tradition education is learning materials. Most traditional courses require books, along with some handout materials. Similarly, some online courses require books and traditional reading materials in addition to reading materials online. Many traditional courses also offer course materials via the Internet. In spite of this remarkable similarity, online education and traditional education have significant differences. The first difference between them is class interaction. Traditional classes provide interaction between students and instructors during lessons. However, contact with instructors may be done virtually in online schools. In other words, interactions for traditional courses are face-to-face whereas they are via e-mail for online courses.

Another difference between the two education styles is flexibility. Traditional schools require their students to be physically present in a classroom. However, students having online education can attend classes without going to school. That is because online courses are given virtually. Therefore, there are no physical limitations of time and space in online education. People can earn a degree wherever they are.

Summary Comment

To sum up, it is clear that even though online education and traditional education are alike in learning materials, they differ greatly in terms of class interaction and flexibility. When students make a decision, they should weigh the factors that are important to them. Otherwise, they may regret their choice.
