INTRODUCTION During this summer, I’ve had the opportunity to be a trainee at Megawide Construction Company Head Office located at 20 N. Domingo Street, Valencia 1112 Quezon City, Philippines. This company was recommended by my coOJT’s mother, saying that Megawide is in need of trainees that would be able to help them with accounting related tasks. Megawide Construction Company isn’t my first choice for my internship but due to some reasons I’ve made my decision to stick with the company. First, they are the first company to offer me an interview. Second, they are in great need of trainees. As much as possible they wanted us to start the 1st week of April. Third, the training plan they have provided is remarkable. It provided me the experience that I will need in the future. Fourth, they’ve provided the necessary requirements needed by the OJT Placement Office without much ado. After I’ve accomplished all the requirements needed to start my training, I decided to start my OJT last April 15, 2013. Before deciding which company to choose, I’ve applied to different private companies to have a wide range of choices. There was an offer from Dragon Estate Realty but the interview they’ve scheduled for me was the same as my interview schedule on Megawide. I was also called for an interview for Savory and CB Richard Ellis but I was already starting my training at Megawide. I’ve started working on my OJT requirements during the 2nd week of April and thankfully after a week I was able to complete all the necessary requirements.

PERSONAL ASSESSMENT OF LEARNING FROM THE COMPANY Areas of Learning A. Cognitive or Intellectual Learning During my stay in the company, I’ve learned a lot of wisdom that were not taught at school. My supervisor used to tell me “Isn’t it a lot easier than what is being taught at school?” I agree with him. The work is not complicated as it seems, you only need a lot of patience and the experience to deal with it. I’ve learned how to make bank reconciliation, making an inventory monitoring, updating the depreciation of equipments and other vehicles with the appropriate journal entries and updating each project’s Income Statement. I was able to use SAP Business One. I was not familiar with the system before, but during the course of my training I was introduced to it and then I became used to its functions. In totality, I really learned much from the company and maybe in the future, I would like to be part of their company.
B.
Affective or Emotional Learning Being in a new place in which you only knew a couple of persons was not easy. I have learned to be sociable especially when other people ask favors from you. I needed to be more extroverts to fully communicate with the others. I’ve learned to comprehend and pay attention when someone explains my task to be done. The people are wonderful. They were kind and are very helpful. I think in the small amount of time I’ve stayed in the company I felt at home.
