USE 1. Starting a pump When the installation is finished you must bleed the pipe, the filter, and the pump and fill in with oil (the pump must not operate without fuel oil to avoid shaft seal damage). - Connect a vacuum gauge to the pump vacuum port. - Connect the priming DIFF pump Ref 901570 to the pressure gauge port and draw up the fuel oil through the oil pump burner. If this is the burner pump you can short-circuit the burner photocell. Start the burner or the motorpump and unscrew the pressure gauge port during 2 to 5 mn, until the fuel bubbles disappear. - The vacuum lift indication must be equal to 0,4 bar maximum. If the vacuum lift indication is more than 0,4 bar and if the length and height suction pipe are in accordance with the manufacturer values, check the pipe for searching a plugged filter, then retry. 2. Checking for leaks in fuel oil suction pipe This test is made to detect air intakes or plugged suction pipe. - Disconnect the suction pipe nearest to the fuel tank. - In two-pipe installation you must disconnect the return pipe on the pump and plug the pump return. - Connect a pressure gauge to the pump pressure gauge port. - Pressurize the fuel oil suction pipe to 0,7 bar (dot not exceed 2 bars). - If the pressure gauge indication falls there is a leak in the system. - Check for leaks in the fittings. - Check for leaks in the plugs and the filters. 3. Pump maintenance - Check the filter neatness and change it if necessary. - Change the cover gasket. 4. Cases of failures - a) Air intakes make noise, unstable pressure and no cut-off to the nozzle. - b) Plugged pipes or unscrewed fittings make noise, fuel leaks and no cut-off to the nozzle. - c) Water oxidizes the pump gear.
