When he was ten he tried to commit suicide by drowning himself in his bath tub but luckily his dad saved him from his death. His parents tried their best to keep him in mainstream school till he finished his school life and also tried to make sure he was treated like other students. He uses his foot to type and write. At the age of seventeen he was motivated and encouraged by a janitor at his school to become a good speaker and therefore he started giving speeches to other students about the difficulties and misfortunes he went through during his childhood. The main reason he gives speeches about his life, is that the people who are listening to him can be motivated ,encouraged and can make the most out of their lives as they have the ability to use their limbs, unlike Nick. After he finished schooling he did his Double Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Financial Planning and his Bachelor's Degree in Commerce in Griffith University when he was 21 years old, and also improved his speaking skills. A speaking coach helped him to develop his speaking skills and cultivate his skills as a presenter and to improve Nick's body language. During the experience of giving motivational speeches, a young girl had thanked Nick for giving such wonderful encouraging speeches. Therefore this inspired Nick to go to other countries and deliver more and more speeches. Later on, when he was comfortable with speaking he started giving speeches on motivational topics to bigger crowds that consisted of hundreds and thousands of people. He created a company called ‘Attitude is Altitude’ and also launched a non-profit ministry, ‘Life Without Limbs’, to spread his message of faith and hope around the world. Nick promotes his work through television shows and through his writing. His first book, Life Without Limbs: Inspiration for a Ridiculously Good Life was published in 2010. He sold a motivational DVD, Life's Greater Purpose, a short documentary filmed in 2005 highlighting his home life and regular activities. The second part of the DVD was filmed at his local church in Brisbane .He sold a DVD for young people titled: No Arms, No Legs, No Worries: Youth Version. Butterfly Circus also won the best short film award at The Feel Good Film Festival in Hollywood in 2010. In 2008, He met Kanae Miyahara. Even though Nick has no arms or legs, Kanae was very impressed with his character, personality and looks. Later, they got married and resided in South
California. Now he is blessed with a handsome little son called Kiyoshi James Vujicic. Nick is an inspiration for all people as he has achieved all the things that a person with limbs can achieve too. He took part in swimming and football and many other societies and clubs and he put his best in all he does. A few words that Nick spoke in one of his lectures are 'Dream big my friend and never give up. We all make mistakes, but none of us are mistakes. Take one day at a time. Embrace the positive attitudes, perspectives, principles and truths I share, and you too will overcome'.
