– Switch over to New Force – ZKL presents its new standard of roller bearings

Meeting the Demands of Technically Advanced Clients ZKL pays proper atenion o echnical developmen o producs and invesmens in new echnologies in order o mee he demands o echnically advanced cliens. As a resul o one o undamenal innovaions in recen ime is launching gradual producion sar o ZKL bearings o higher sandard wih NEW FORCE designaion. By inroducing he producion o New Force bearings ZKL hus ollows up wih he already maerialized innovaion phase o spherical roller bearings wih seel shee and brass machined cages. Tis iniiaed process will resul in serial producion represening approximaely 50 percen o oal assormen o ZKL roller bearings in caegory New Force in year 2010.
New Force bearings consiue a new generaion o ZKL bearings. Te applicaion o hese bearings brings longer service lie o bearings, higher operaion saey, prolongaion o service inervals and hus a subsanial reducion o operaional cos or users. New Force bearings are designed or mos challenging mounings in ransmission boxes, in railway vehicles, presses, rolling mills, paper mill machines, pumps, machine ools, power unis, in prining indusry and similar. As a rst complex series o New Force bearings there are being introduced on the market radial spherical roller bearings or heavy duty operating conditions where use o standard bearings with steel sheet cage is not recommended. Tese new ZKL bearings are in execuion wih prong-ype brass machined cage (EMH version).

Use o High Quality Bearing Materials Steels or bearing production comply with parameters o international sandards se orh in CSN EN ISO 683-17 Sandard “Hea-reaed Seels, Alloy Seels and Free-Cuting Seels, Par 17: Ball and Roller Bearing Seels”. For producion o bearing rings and rolling elemens high qualiy maerials o careully seleced iron works is being used. Long-sanding collaboraion with suppliers guarantees permanent amelioration process o evaluating parameers o incoming maerials.
Bearings New Force are made of through-hardening bearing steel 100Cr6, 100MnSi6-4 o r 100CrMo7. Deerminan qualiy parameers o seel and is processing have infuence on bearing uiliy values, namely is resisance o aigue damage, abrasion resisance and dimensional sabiliy. Tey are: •

Adjusted parts shape in rolling contact characterized by abutment parameter. Tus the conac ension course is avorably infuenced and adverse sliding ension caused by slippage is reduced. Spherical roller bearings are designed wih inner ring wihou xed cener rib. Tis enables o use larger spherical rollers and progressive producion echnology. Te sandard serial producion is urher oriened o use seel shee cages in EJ and CJ version as prioriy. For very challenging operaing condiions he design o spherical roller bearings is based on CJ and EJ version where steel sheet cages are substituted by one-piece prong-type machined brass cage EMH, cenered on inner ring. New Force radial spherical roller bearings in EMH version are being introduced on the marke as he rs, o be ollowed by radial spherical roller bearings in EJ and CJ version, spherical roller bearings o larger sizes and single row and double row ball bearings.

Special Surface Treatment of NEW FORCE Bearings Components In rame o innovation programs a new design execution o steel sheet cages or spherical roller radial and thrust bearings has been esablished. Cages are manuacured o seel shee wih surace reamen or improved sliding properies and reduced cage wear. Cages design execuion enables beter lubricaion and exended bearing service lie. Surace reamens o New Force bearing componens represen proven mehod o improved bearing properies or specic mounings. Te bene o surace layers is a beter lubrican reenion in rolling conac, reduced ricion, increased wear and corrosion resisance. We recommend o consul suiabiliy o surace reamen or special running condiions wih echnical and Consuling Services o ZKL.
Design Tests Te principal parameers o New Force bearings are designed in compliance wih proven mehodology o ZKL insiued on basis o international ISO standards and own know-how acquired by test results as well as by experiences in production and operation o ZKL bearings. Basic dynamic load rating C is specied in conormiy w ih ISO 281 1990. Numeric values in able secion are sipulaed or New Force bearings in view o improved maerial properies and modern indusrial processes. Basic static load rating C o is sipulaed in conormiy wih ISO 76:1987 sandard. Limiting speed requency is specied in compliance wih inernal ZKL mehodology. CS renders inormaion o cliens in he eld o bearings, heir accessories and ribology.
Upon user’s request CS perorms technical supervision in mouning and dismouning o bearings a he client and gives special training courses or users’ sta in newly built training center. CS cooperates with manuacurers in developmen o rolling arrangemen. I elaboraes echnical experise o bearings break downs. It determines reasons o break downs and suggests measures or heir prevenion.
