NARRATIVE REPORT ON NATIONAL READING MONTH CELEBRATION W/ PICTORIALS S.Y. 2018-2019 I Introduction: Everyone knows that reading is important, but have you ever asked yourself why that is so? Through reading, you expose yourself to new things, new information, new ways to solve a problem, and new w ways ays to achieve one thing. You begin to understand the world more. You have a greater understanding on a topic that interest you; for example: how to build self- confidence, how to make plan better before taking action, how to memorize things thin gs better and more. The more you read, the more you understand one thing. When you are reading, you are actually gaining the knowledge and experience of someone. Through reading, you build a more solid foundation for communication. It is one of the most important tools we use every day to connect with each other. Whereas if you don’t read, you can’t even connect with the world and what people are talking about out there, including understanding what this article is all about. Reading connects you with the world. To develop pupil’s love of reading, Jesus Lumain Elementary School has initiated different reading programs and strategies to ensure that every child a reader. These will strengthen them in the development of attitudes and skills in reading and speaking which will make them productive and empowered individual, team members and citizens. c itizens. They are expected to become be come more capable of communicating in all content areas.

II Objectives: a. To develop pupils’ love for reading.  b. To enhance pupils reading level performance through constant remediation. c. To develop pupils’ reading comprehension through different reading materials.  III Activities /Strategies

a.  Classroom activities 1.  Reading Diagnostics in all pupils. 2.  Buddy-buddy reading during vacant time. 3.  Dramatic storytelling by the teachers. 4.  Reading remediation conducted by each teacher in all grade levels. b.  Reading Month Culmination Program Book Character Costume Parade Festival of Talents: Story Telling, Spelling Bee and Book Character C haracter Contest by Grade Level Leve l

IV Problems Met: The school has no sufficient budget to construct reading center cente r.  VI Suggestions/ Recommendations: The teacher should have full application of strategies that will improve pupils’ reading performance. The school also should have budget for the construction of the reading ce nter to have proper are area a for reading remediation of identified non-readers. Prepared by:
