My Letter of Motivation

Motivation Letter SAARLAND University at Saarbrücken, PhD program in Computer Science “Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution- Albert Einstein” is what I find most appealing about knowledge. Keeping up an inquisitive and explorative attitude, I believe, leads to a constant learning process. This approach adds to the already immense potential for innovation that exists in the field of computer science. As a student, I look to postgraduate study to refine my knowledge and skills in my areas of interest. I believe it will also serve to give direction to my goal of a career as a research professional at an academic or commercial, research-oriented organization. I intend to pursue a PhD degree in order to reach that goal. In my graduate studies, I have benefited from the breadth of Peshawar University syllabi content that has given me a comprehensive exposure to the core areas of Computer Science and a strong conceptual understanding of the same. In these four years of study, I have strived to maintain an approach of expending independent effort in all my endeavors. Learning by myself and sharing my knowledge with others has been most worthwhile, when comprehending a concept. Over the past three years, as a Lecturer in Iqra University, I have developed an interest in the area of Cryptography and Network Security. Being a volunteer student in Computer Science program at Peshawar University, I have embedded Computer Programming in automatic SMS system in my MS thesis. This practice gave an insight and has leaded me to appreciate the intricacies involved in the field of Cryptography and Network Security. However, for my PhD degree, I remain open to other topics as well. (Please see attached Resume’ for the Academic and Cocurricular distinctions) The reason for choosing PhD program comes from the fact that in the near future I would like to get to know more things regarding for example Cryptology, Information Coding and Theory, Network and Communication Security. I already got some ideas in my head, but unfortunately until now based on one volunteer course, I did not have the right knowledge and the right tools for putting them in practice and that is why I know that PhD would be an excellent starting point for me. Also if I will get selected for this program I will have the opportunity to learn from the best and the fact that I will study in an international environment will give me the privilege to create new relationships with people from different cultures. I am also aware of the kind of dedication and perseverance I will need to have for achieving

These core values of SAARLAND University at Saarbrücken inspired my capabilities of imagination and I believe that being a part of this prestigious university as a student, I will not only achieve my career goals but also feel a great honor that the capabilities of my imagination have been polished in the SAARLAND University at Saarbrücken. In conclusion, I would like to add that the essence of University education lies in the synergetic relationship between the student and his department. I feel that postgraduate study at your University will be the most logical extension of my academic pursuits and a major step towards achieving my objectives.
