A

ndrew MR303 gives designers a simple tool to solve their small area 900 MHz GSM coverage and performance issues. The MR303 is a bi-directional amplifier used to enhance signals between a mobile and a base station in a 900 MHz GSM network. It has been designed to increase signal strength in small and medium sized areas such as offices, shops, and basements. By boosting the signal level the MR303 increases indoor coverage and allows high data rate connectivity. The MR303 is simple to install. It has

auto-setup functionality and requires no addition equipment to commission. The RF link (donor) towards the base station is typically fed from an outdoor antenna while the coverage area is fed by an indoor antenna. The design of the amplifier maintains the CEPT limit of -36 dBm. The unit is available in 4 configurations: MR303B, MR303D, MR303/303B, MR303/303D. The “303” indicates a single band selective filter while the “303/303” defines two band selective filters. The “B” version of the repeater is equipped with an internal coverage antenna while the “D” version of the repeater has an SMA antenna port that is used to feed an external indoor coverage antenna via coaxial cable. All units are available in different bandwidths with field adjustable center frequencies. The MR303 will automatically set its

gain to maximize its performance, however gain may be set manually if desired. An alarm interface with LEDs and dry-contact outputs enables local and remote supervision. The MR303 has an optional remote monitor function that provides equipment alarming via a GSM-SMS. Alarm SMSs (including heart beat) can be sent to the common Andrew OMC or to any standard SMS receiver (even a mobile phone). • Easy to install due to light weight, small dimensions and auto-setup functionality • Automatic level control (ALC) and power alarm • Band selection through a SAW filter • Delivered with a complete installation package (power supply, antennas, and cable) • Meeting GSM 05.05 • Optional remote alarm monitoring
