Mortgage Service Game • Securing mortgage is the time consuming and frustrating task • Multiple steps with many handoffs to independent organizations • This game is the simulation of the mortgage service process in which human player controls the one entity and computer will make decision for other actor

Contd… • This figure shows the block diagram of the mortgage supply chain • Each mortgage application passes through the four stages • Middle column of the block diagram contains a sequence of backlog boxes i.e. queues of working process representing the movement of application through the process to completion

Contd… • Looking at each backlog, the player sets the target capacity of the system • Actual capacity lags the target capacity because it takes time to find train the employees • On the block diagram, there is the bow-tie, a valve controlling the the flow of application between each diagram • Each company controls its own backlog when making its decisions.
