LATE CHILDHOOD ( the Intermidiate schoolers) ►

Late childhood is generally defined as ages 9 - 12

Physical Development ►

It is the changes of physical such as height, weight, skeletal and muscular system.

First menstrual period

Vocal changes

COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT



It is the time on how children think, explore and figure things out.



It is the development of knowledge and skills which helps the children to think about and understand the world around them.

Reading Development



Attention – older children have longer attention than younger children.







Creativity – children at this Stage are open to expose new things they just need a little guidance. Media and agression – children will review violence as an acceptable why to settle conflicts.  Teacher – need to be eager participant Children growth and development.

 

SOCIO-EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT



Occurs during puberty and adolescence.



It is the development how we think of ourselves or a sense of self Identity.



Emotional development is how a person thinks and feel about themselves and others.

Forms strong and complex friendships.



Shows more interest in friends and less interest in family.

Family – family support is important at this stage characterized by success and failure.

Set up learning activities that allow to explore their creativity in relevant, interesting and worthwhile ways Value creativity celebrate and reward – a teacher given a task or activities to a children and after just give them a reward and appreciation.

 

Factors affecting ways on how to promote schoolerscreativity of Intermidiate ►

Encourage children to read for

pleasure -reading can help children understand and express better, develop their logical thinking, and help them to focus on learning new things. ►

Give them free time and space   -It is important to give them enough time or space to freely explore their imaginations but it is also need your guidance.

 

Individual Differences Factors   ►

Learners have different strategies, approaches, and capabilities to learning



Some children have better ways and at different levels.



 Some are simply smarter than others.



 Some have make no effort at all to earn good grades in school.



 

Every student needs to understand his or her profile of strength and weaknesses.

 



Strategies and approaches – learn they see Visualsuch as: what video presentation, picture books, charts.

Kinesthetic – learn what they do      

- Hands on EX. Science experiment - Drawn to construct project - skilled: Sport’s - Talent’s: acting, dance, sing, etc.

Auditory – learn what they hear  EX. Music, Voice record  

 

Teach – learn from teaching them  each before Ex. If students a teacherdo assign lesson or activities demonstrate it onatheir own.   - Providing feedback – Remember of course, to provide a plenty of positive feedback.   - Encouragement help keep students morale and inspiration. Trust- learn from authority   Ex. Use emphathy to help student’s knows that they are not alone. Student need to know that someone understand them.
