Description

Mind Bending Language & Hijacking Emotional Intelligence You can use adjectives and adverbs to modify language and change the way that people normally perceive information; in a way that triggers the Amygdala (Emotional Brain) through using these linguistic novelties that bypasses the Neocortex part of the brain (Thinking Brain), which essentially is bypassing critical resistance that comes when objections are raised. This in basically how this works in laymen terminology: You have a part of the brain that takes in sensory information (Visual/Kinesthetic/Auditory, etc.) then this information is usually processed in the Neocortex (Thinking Brain), and from there it travels to the Amygdala (Emotional Brain) that creates the appropriate emotional responses for interpreting this sensory information. When you bypass the part of the brain that rationalizes things logically (cortex), then you get emotional responses that may or may not be valid logically. This is where instinct comes into play. And this is exactly what happens when you are shocked or surprised and your instincts kick in and you throw your hands up in front of you so that you can protect yourself in the even that fear is brought out, etc. This is typically known as the ‘fight or flight response’. Mind Bending Language is created when you create logical sentences that make sense when really considered but state them in such a way that causes confusion that triggers this emotional part of the brain whereby you can stick suggestions without the cortex or thinking part of the brain throwing up red flags that hinder your suggestions to the unconscious mind. Keep in mind that this is only one tool for objection handling. Here are some ‘words of power’ that you can use to create Mind Bending Language instantly. You can compare these with those of regular conversational hypnosis techniques which we’ve studied in past lessons.

Here they are:

Other than…

Aside from…

More than…

Only…

All…

Example: More than this though and other than that, that you’ve considered, but aside from what I just mentioned earlier, are some of the considerations you might only want to make regarding this idea we’ve been discussing all along and more than just yesterday’s thoughts on the matter of these ideas?

Your mind should be spinning a little bit out of control after having read this and it may seem not to make any sense to you what so ever, but applied to a hypothetical context and really considered you’ll find that the example does make sense logically and is correct and not poor grammar per se but rather stated in a manner which is not consistent with regularity. This is Mind Bending Language.

In conversational settings you can apply these ‘words of power’ to modify a sentence and make sense out of any objection for the person raising the objection. This can be applied in ways where you overcome the objection, bring out a point that is more important and thus resolves the conflict by having the subject consider points which have not yet been considered, or various other strategies can be adopted as well.

So for instance if someone tells you during a sales call, “I’m just not interested.”

First acknowledge the objection by stating it clearly back to the person: “You are not interested in owning a new car, right?” They will reply, “That’s right.”

You then can use MBL to overcome the objection by saying something like: To the extent that you were not interested in buying a new car then, and other than you becoming more interested in some other car aside from some other time than now, you may likely only realize that something less better than this car would mean that you would be less interested, and only would make less sense later than it would now, so you could be more interested after then, and rightly so, right?

Then watch for them to show confusion and surprise on their face, and say, “You only are interested in things that are important enough to help you right now, right?”

Then they will agree with you because you’ve bypassed their critical mind and they cannot help but agree at this point.

Well, only use MBL aside from other things and only to the extent that you want to, because more than using MBL other than something more helpful, would be unhelpful to use right? Meaning you’ll want to use other methods as well as MBL obviously!

I hope you all have enjoyed this lesson!

Study Well!
