MillThru Level 4 Multilateral System TM
Conventional liner hanger, liner, and cementing equipment
Weatherford's MillThru Level 4 multilateral system creates a Level 4 junction with full-liner access to both the lateral and main bores. Overlapping concentric strings, combined with cement, ensure a junction with maximal support. The system can be used in new or re-entry applications. This simple, low-cost, low-risk system relies on standard casing exit equipment for making a lateral window, using a simple mill assembly to create access back into the main bore through a standard liner. Simply install Weatherford's PakLatch™ permanent packer assembly, and latch a self-aligning QuickCut™ whipstock to the intended azimuth. Perform a routine casing exit, creating a lateral access window. Drill, case, and cement the lateral, using conventional methods. Run the MillThru assembly in the well, and mill an access window through the liner overlap at the junction, using proven milling techniques. An optional re-entry deflector, with flow-activated anchoring system, is available for selectively re-entering multiple laterals while being able to pass safely through multiple orientation packers.
Applications

PakLatch orientation packer for anchoring, milling, and re-entry
The MillThru system is effective in new and re-entry applications and is ideal for cost-sensitive operations requiring low-risk multilateral functionality.

MillThru Level 4 Multilateral System Features, Advantages and Benefits — The standard casing exit system eliminates the need for special junction hardware, enabling creation of a low-cost Level 4 junction. — The MillThru system is installed with standard milling, drilling, and completion techniques. Simple, triedand-true equipment and procedures result in lower equipment costs and reduce the risk of delays and cost overruns. — The permanent PakLatch™ packer provides a permanent orientation anchor to simplify casing exit and re-entry. — The simple liner completion does not require orientation or depth correlation, thus eliminating risk associated with junction placement. — The optional re-entry deflector is self-orienting for selectively re-entering multiple laterals while being able to pass safely through multiple orientation packers. — The flow-activated re-entry anchor provides more options and flexibility with selective re-entry of multiple laterals.
