Micropile Uplift Load Test Method Statement GEOPROFOUND ENGINEERING SDN BHD
MICROPILE UPLIFT LOAD TEST METHOD STATEMENT Objective : To Test Skin Friction Only a) The test pile is constructed to protrude above the ground level approximately 300mm with permanent casing installed. b) Prior to grouting the pile, 6-8 Nos of 0.6” anchor strands are embedded and tied to the last reinforcement cage of the pile at the top. The embedment or lap length of these anchor cables depend on the test load as per the drawing. c) Grout the micropile and leave for at least 7-days for grout to be sufficiently hardened. d) Assemble the reaction frame system as shown in Diagram 1. The anchor cable shall be locked into an anchor block (head) on the I-beam. Tie-rods and stiffener plates installed will stabilize the system. e) A sewer jack (multi-strand) hydraulic jack is placed atop the I-beam, which will pull all anchor strand when stressed. f) A calibrated load cell reacting against the hydraulic jack and the anchor block is placed with the use of centralizer blocks if necessary. g) Fix four (4) nos. dial gauges on an independent ‘pipe frame’ to measure the pile head displacement. h) All testing equipment shall be protected from unnecessary disturbance prior to and throughout the load test. i) The loading sequence shall follow the client’s specification including the step and duration. j) Records shall be kept promptly throughout the testing period. A copy shall be extended to the Superintending Officer at the end of the test.
