A FEW WORDS ABOUT THIS BOOK

I did not wake up one day and said to myself: “Oh! Today I am going to write a book about Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Homeopathy!” As it is true about all true things, this book is the fruit of a seed that grew up gradually in the mist and “all of a sudden” popped up spontaneously coming into light.

It’s not my book since it doesn’t contain my wisdom. As Hermes the Great said: “God is wise, Man is stupid!” The only credit that can be rendered to me is that I’ve been focused so persistently and so long – almost a lifetime - on Homeopathy and Holistic Thinking that, finally, I managed to become tuned to the related wisdom of the Superior Psychic World.

In the beginning of 2012 I had to gather and organize my notes on prescribing in Acute Diseases. I mean all those acute incidents like colds, acute back pain, gastroenteritis, urine infections, etc. I had to do it for my own sake and also for the sake of new colleagues that I had trained and converted to Homeopathy. The emerging book was going to be called “Homeopathic Treatment of Acute Diseases” and there was a need for an introduction to the book.

I began writing the above mentioned introduction and I faced the necessity to define what’s “Acute Illness” and “Chronic Illness”. In the process, one thing led to another. I now had to explain the difference between the allopathic concept of “Disease” and the homeopathic/holistic concept of “Illness”.

8 I also had to explain the difference between Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Diagnosis that I’ve been practicing for many years and other common and widespread methods of “homeopathic” diagnosis like Repertorising, Key-Note Prescribing, Disease-Oriented Prescribing and Computer Expert Systems.

There were already a lot of books written by me in the past that dealt fragmentally with Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Diagnosis and Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Homeopathy. Yet, now was the time to realize that there wasn’t any specific book about Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Homeopathy; one that could explain my point of view and practice of Homeopathy and in what ways this differed from other common views and practices.

So, I postponed the original idea of a book about Acute Illnesses and started writing this very book. There is a relevant Greek saying that has also become lyrics of a certain song: “We’ve sailed for one place but life lead us to another…” You see, Life has its own way of going on and this is in accordance with Universal Laws and specifically with the Law of Eternal Flow.

This book is not a complete, full scale description of my method of Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Homeopathy. Only by reading all my previous books on Holistic Philosophy and Homeopathy – especially the books “Homeopathic Case Taking”, “The Theory of Miasms”, “Universal Laws”, “Miasmatic Homeopathic Materia Medica” and “Homeopathic Clinical Cases” – only then, one can deeply understand what Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Homeopathy actually is.

Nevertheless, I believe that this book is indispensable since it brings together all past pieces of this relevant puzzle in order to have a deep understanding of the whole.

INTRODUCTION

You can go deep into any matter just by examining its history of evolution. The reason is that you will be able to see different aspects of the same thing in different eras and societies. This is also true if we examine the evolution of Homeopathic Medicine through time from its origin around two hundred and fifty years ago until today.

Nowadays, one comes along with many different, even contradictory aspects of Homeopathy both as theory and clinical practice. Since Homeopathy is at the same time Science and Art, especially in regard to the latter, one can expect such diversity in the field of diagnostic and therapeutic techniques.

Nevertheless, since Homeopathy is prevalently a Science and secondarily an Art, there can be only one true Homeopathic Medicine both as theory and clinical application. True Homeopathy can only be the one that strictly follows the Homeopathic Diagnostic and Therapeutic Laws. Furthermore, such laws can be considered valid only if they are derived from the application of Universal Laws to the specific area of Human Health and Medicine. Indeed, isn’t that the differentia between true Homeopathy and Allopathic Medicine?

In regard to the above arguments what makes Homeopathy truly scientific is, in fact, its holistic approach of Man as a psychosomatic entity and as an integral, non-detachable part of Family, Society, Universe and God. This is also the case when it comes to the hierarchic viewpoint of Man, i.e. taking in consideration all human levels of existence and all sublevels (Material Body, Etheric Body, Psyche and Spirit). Moreover, this is true when Homeopathy treats diagnostically and therapeutically each patient as a unique person and not as a case of disease. Finally, in the same line of theory and practice, Homeopathic Medicine views Man as an

10 energy entity and accordingly Illness as a disorder of Etheric Energy; and that is the reason why it employs energy remedies so as to achieve deeper and more permanent therapeutic results.

One can easily realize that in the above paragraph we have already mentioned four fundamental Homeopathic Laws of Diagnosis and Treatment: The Law of Whole, the Law of Hierarchy, the Law of Individualization and finally the Law of Similarity!

Only when we employ these fundamental laws, only then we can claim to practice True Homeopathy or Classical Homeopathy or Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Homeopathy. For so many years in the field of clinical practice I’ve been asking myself again and again: “What is the most correct and scientific way of practicing Homeopathy?”

Gradually, after many years of philosophical inquiry and clinical practice I have come to the formation of the system of Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Homeopathy, which I think is the most scientific and effective way of practicing Homeopathic Medicine. In any true Science and especially in Medicine, results are what matters. No matter what theories and philosophies one employs, therapeutic results are the final criterion of any medical system or method. As folk wisdom says: “White cat, black cat; the only thing that matters is how many mice it catches!”

Speaking of the foundations of the system of Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Homeopathy let me propose an analogy. Let me compare the effective practice of this system with the action of a camera that stands on a photographic tripod. Any homeopathic doctor must base his actions on three fundamental pillars.

The first one is Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Materia Medica. It’s a solid scientific ground because all data included origin from scientific

11 experimentation by the method of Triple Blind Trial in healthy people (Homeopathic Provings).

This is true, of course, of any Materia Medica. What’s more important is that in the case of Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Materia Medica we have further valuable information: clinical confirmation not only of symptoms during Acute Illness but, most important, of general and psychological characteristics during Chronic Illness (state of Clinical Health).

The second pillar on which my method stands is Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Case Taking. The main goal of this kind of case taking is to trace the miasmatic and idiosyncratic psychological essence (main idea, core, central point, main delusion, “heart”) of the patient’s Chronic (Chronic Illness) or Acute Idiosyncrasy (Acute Illness), as this is described in Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Materia Medica.

Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Case Taking has nothing to do with memorizing numerous symptoms. It doesn’t employ any kind of Repertory or Computer Expert System in Chronic Illness. It’s an active procedure done by the mind and heart of the homeopathic doctor who interacts with the patient in a smart and precise manner. Its aim is to reveal the miasmatic and idiosyncratic characteristics of the patient focusing on psychological and general characteristics of the patient at the Stage of Clinical Health/Chronic Illness, his Non-Verbal Behavior and his Primary Behavior.

The third fundamental pillar on which Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Homeopathy stands is Application of Universal Laws-Homeopathic Laws in all fields: Theory/Philosophy, Diagnosis/Case Taking and finally Treatment. This isn’t just a theoretical declaration; in every single step of diagnosis and treatment, homeopathic laws are firmly employed in order to have a scientific and effective outcome. As a result, in the end, the

12 trainee homeopathic doctor develops the precious tool of Holistic Thinking not only in the medical field but in all fields of knowledge.

These are the three pillars of the tripod on which Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Homeopathy stands; but all the above are of no practical use in clinical practice without correct and long clinical training. It is clinical training next to an experienced and inspiring homeopathic doctor that brings all three pillars in one in the same way that the three legs of the tripod unite in one stand, on which the camera is supported.

It is the camera/Individual Psyche of the homeopathic doctor that receives all knowledge, all data and transforms it into experience and wisdom. The overall procedure is not restricted just to feeding “dry” information to a mechanical brain. It has to do with the senses of the homeopathic doctor as well as to his heart and brain, that is, to his whole entity.

That’s the reason why a transformation takes place. The homeopathic doctor becomes more receptive, sensitive, broad-minded, broad-hearted and more conscious of himself and others. He is turned into a moral and wise human being. He has now become a reliable, precise and state of the art photographic camera that can take objective pictures of the abyss of the patient’s body and mind. In Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Homeopathy the doctor is the measuring device of the patient’s body and soul and so he has to be a precise and reliable machinery calibrated according to Universal Laws.

Through the precise tool of Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Homeopathy, the doctor-photographic camera takes snapshots of his patient’s life. In the case of Acute Illnesses he takes snapshots of Acute Idiosyncrasies that disorder the man, the patient. Yet, this is the least that he is interest of. He goes further taking snapshots of Chronic Idiosyncrasies that have been affecting the patient before Acute Illnesses emerged, that is, during the

13 state of Chronic Illness-state of Clinical Health. Now it’s time, after the Acute Illness has passed, to prescribe that homeopathic medicine which is similar to the last, recent Chronic Idiosyncrasy.

Yet, a lot more can be revealed and photographed. If the doctor focuses on the background of the scenery he will also take snapshots of the possible emerging Chronic Idiosyncrasies that are not as strong as the similar-to-the-present Chronic Idiosyncrasy but are the most possible ones to pop out in the close future and for which he will possibly prescribe.

During case taking, also emerge snapshots of Chronic Idiosyncrasies that have troubled the patient in the past. These snapshots can vary from faint ones to crystal clear ones.

An experienced doctor-photographer will furthermore take snapshots of the patient’s recent miasmatic influences. Different snapshots from different angles will reveal the dominant miasm and the percentage of influence of the other two.

In the end, the sum of snapshots from all levels and areas will reveal to the photographer-homeopathic doctor not only the External Self of the patient, but also his Internal Self, that is, the deepest moral quality of this Individual Psyche. We must never forget that the sum of our miasmatic and idiosyncratic influences, occurrences of the past, education, ideologies, beliefs and mental patterns are but our External Self and have nothing to do with our core, our Internal Self.

All these snapshots, if lined up in the proper order, constitute the biographical movie of the patient’s life and the patient as a whole or more accurately the man-Individual Psyche as a whole. This movie

14 passes as a trailer in front of the eyes of the experienced homeopathic doctor in just 45 minutes of Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Case Taking!

This amazing achievement becomes possible only if the doctor lets the knowledge and experience of Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Homeopathy to transform him from a materialistic scientist to an evolved morally and psychologically human being-unselfish therapist!

Well, that’s what Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Homeopathy is for me! That’s what Homeopathic Medicine is for me! That’s how Medicine must be! That’s how Science should be! That’s how our Life in general ought to be!

However, we’ve already talked much about snapshots! The rest of the “movie” called “Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Homeopathy” is to be watched “on screen”! The only thing you have to do is to enjoy it!

CHAPTER 1 ILLNESS VERSUS DISEASE

16 This book is about Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Homeopathy. According to Holistic Thinking and Philosophy, in order to achieve its goal, it must clearly define relevant basic terms. To do so, it must give satisfying answers to questions like: “What’s Health and Illness?” “What’s the difference between Disease and Illness?” “What’s Diagnosis and what’s Cure?”

Only then, fundamental differences among Allopathy and Homeopathy/Holistic Medicine will become crystal clear. Furthermore, only then we will be able to decide what practices from the numerous existing in the field of Homeopathy are truly homeopathic and what aren’t. Finally, only then one can appreciate the diagnostic and therapeutic value and validity of Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Homeopathy.

1.1 The French philosopher Bolter and Allopathic Medicine The French philosopher Bolter in an attempt to stress the confusion and lack of scientific attitude of the Medicine of his times said: “Doctors prescribe medicines that they know little, for diseases that they know even less, for Man that they know nothing at all!”

Unfortunately, this is also true for the prevailing nowadays Allopathic Therapeutic System. Contemporary Medicine has no clear answer on fundamental medical concepts like Health-Illness and Diagnosis-Cure. In addition, it refuses to deal with Man as a whole and as an integral part of Universe.

Allopathic Medicine deals only with diagnosis of the Disease on the Physical Level and proceeds to cure only by material chemical medicines without applying any diagnostic and therapeutic law of general validity. As a result these medicines, most of the times, suppress symptoms or diseases instead of treating him causatively and as a psychosomatic whole thus deteriorating the general state of health of the patient.

17 Homeopathy, on the contrary - especially Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Homeopathy - employs Universal Laws-Homeopathic Laws at all stages of diagnosis and treatment and at all theoretical attempts towards health matters.

1.2 Definition of the terms “Health” and “Illness” Let’s cut to the chase! I will try to be short and meaningful without any long discussion since these matters have been analyzed in all my previous books extensively. So, what do we mean by the term “Illness”?

According to Homeopathy, Illness is but the absence of the state of Health or the absence of balance. Health is the primary state while Illness comes secondarily and automatically due to the absence of Health in the same way that light is the primary state and darkness is but the absence of light.

This is in accordance with the Universal Law of Unity and Complementary Nature of the Opposites that rules the World of Duality/Diversity that we live in (Material World, Lower Energy World, Etheric World and Lower Psychic World). All things, energies and states appear to be opposite and at the same time complementary.

Thus, if Illness is a state of imbalance, Health must be a state of balance. Immediately a new question arises: “Balance with what?” At the level of the Material Body this means balance and harmony of different cells, organs and organic systems among them. Let me remind you that the allopathic definition of the term “Organism” is “the sum of well organized and cooperative organs and organic systems”. So, in regard to Allopathy, since it doesn’t accept any other level of existence (refuses Etheric Energy and considers psychological functions as functions of the brain) Health is but the state of balance among the material parts of the body-organism and Illness is the absence of such a balance.

18

1.3 Beyond the Allopathic definition of Health Since Homeopathy considers Man as an integral part of Nature then in order to have a State of Health, Man must be in balance, in equilibrium with his Natural Environment around him. This balance involves both material objects and Natural Laws.

When it comes to material objects this means equilibrium of exchanging materials which in turn implies natural metabolism and nutrition, balanced secretion of feces, urine, sweat, peptic gases, oxygen and carbon dioxide. If our Natural Environment is imbalanced or if it’s balanced, yet we establish an imbalanced relation with it, then there comes a time when our organism becomes imbalanced, disordered and ill.

For example, I may inhale polluted air from a polluted industrial area or the air may be clean but I choose to smoke tobacco. Or, there may be plenty of natural healthy food around but I choose to eat unhealthy or unnatural food. Or, I may choose healthy natural food but due to overcooking or unnatural cooking I transform it into something toxic for my organism. Last, but not least, I may often malnourish my body due to psychological imbalance (greed, unnatural fasting or diets, nervous anorexia, etc)

According to Universal Law of Unity/Diversity and to corresponding Homeopathic Law of Whole, Man consists of many different levels of existence. Therefore, when it comes to Health and Illness, Man must be examined at all levels and as a whole. Furthermore, according to Universal/Homeopathic Law of Hierarchy we must always take in consideration the hierarchic chain of the various levels and parts. In addition, according to the Universal Law of Cause and Result we mustn’t deal with isolated causes/results but with the totality of the Etiological Chain of Causes/Results that leads to imbalance and Illness.

19

In respect to the above we must also examine Health at the Lower Energy Level. Man has always been bombard by lower forms of energy like heat, sound, solar energy, electricity, magnetism, etc. Nowadays, due to technological progress we are also tremendously affected by radio and TV waves, microwaves, radiation and other forms of energies.

1.4 Balance and Health at the Etheric and Psychic Level Man also consists of Etheric Level/Body and therefore he is in a never ending interchange with the Etheric World around him. In order to have balance and Health our Etheric Body must be in equilibrium with the Etheric World.

Modern way of living in unhealthy small apartments and large cities hinders the free exchange of Etheric Energy between our Etheric Body and Etheric World. Furthermore, unnatural conservation and processing of food diminishes its etheric energy. Air pollution does not only affect the quality of air that we breathe but also the quality and quantity of etheric energy contained and inhaled during breathing. Unnatural and hostile relations among modern people, as well, affect the flow of the same energy between the members of modern societies.

If we go a further level up we reach the Individual Psyche of Man. The latter is in constant close relation with other human Individual Psyches and with Psychic World. So, in order to maintain the state of Health, any person, must be in balance with his close ones (companion, family members, friends, colleagues, society) and with the Psychic World.

1.5 Man, Universe, God There’s one more level of existence in Man, alone, compared to animals and plants. It’s the level of Individual Spirit with which he can come in

20 contact with the Spiritual World. However, this level being the highest and being part of the World of Uniqueness is characterized by eternal and absolute balance, by nature, and thus it does not play any role in regard to the phenomena of Illness.

From the above mentioned, it’s clear that Man, been created “in the image of God” and Universe participates and interacts with all levels of Universe, i.e. Material World, Lower Energy World, Etheric World, Psychic World and Spiritual World. Moreover, Man is created with a certain mission by the Creator. In addition, each Individual Psyche is deeply affected by the phase of Universal Evolution, Earth Evolution and Human Society Evolution.

Furthermore, if the Theory of Reincarnation/Successive Lives is true – and I am personally convinced about it – then during this earthly lifetime any Individual Psyche carries with it the fruits/results of its previous lives actions. These past Karma/Destiny inherited in the form of Miasmatic and Idiosyncratic Characteristics affects greatly the state of Health/Illness of any Individual Psyche in the form of Physical and Psychological Predispositions.

On top of all the above factors, any human being has been gifted by the Creator the precious gift of Free Will, that is, the ability to act naturally and according to Universal Laws or unnaturally and against Universal Laws. Thus, Free Will becomes a critical factor affecting our balance with other living beings and the Worlds of Universe, therefore affecting in a direct way our state of Health/Illness.

Summing up all the above we conclude that Health is the state of balance between the individual on one hand and the Material World, Etheric World, Psychic World, other living creatures, Universe and God on the other hand. This balance is maintained when the individual makes

21 correct and moral use of his Free Will in respect to Universal Laws, thus fulfilling his natural mission given by the Creator.

1.6 The Allopathic conception of Disease We have, finally, reached a holistic/homeopathic definition of the term Health. We have also mentioned previously that Illness is but the absence of Health, i.e. imbalance and disorder of the natural state of Health. Now it’s time to wonder about the several existing forms of Illness and the relation of the term “Disease” adopted by Allopathic Medicine with the holistic/homeopathic term “Illness”.

What’s the definition of “Disease” in Allopathic Medicine? Disease consists of one symptom or a set of symptoms from one or several organs/organic systems that form a specific clinical picture, more or less the same for most people. This clinical picture is characterized, more or less, by the same anatomical, histological, biochemical, functional and laboratory findings for most people.

Nevertheless, quite often, the clinical picture, anatomical, histological, biochemical, functional and laboratory findings vary greatly from one patient to another although they are diagnosed with the same disease. This is not surprising since human beings differ greatly in regard to vitality, miasms, idiosyncrasy, chronic physical and psychological predispositions, way of life and attitude towards Illness.

Even greater problems arise for the allopathic concept of Disease by the fact that, quite often, the same Disease is characterized by different Etiology and different Pathogenesis. For example, arthritis, diarrhea and migraine, all considered diseases, may have different and even opposite causes of pathogenesis.

22 In addition, people diagnosed suffering from the same disease differ widely in regard to prognosis. There are also differences in regard to treatment even though, as a rule, the allopathic treatment aims to the suppression of symptoms or of the disease as a whole.

1.7 Is Disease a naturally existing entity or not? Why do I trouble you with all the above facts? Because it’s critical to Science, to any Science, to employ concepts and terms that are based on naturally existing entities. Any Science shouldn’t classify materials, living creatures or natural/biological phenomena according to arbitrary human criteria.

For example, we cannot classify living beings in species according to skin/feather color because in such a case red parrots and red poppies would be considered as creatures of the same species! Accordingly if we classify living beings in species according to feeding habits then sparrows, wasps and pigs would belong to the same “species” of omnivorous animals.

Accordingly, when it comes to the classification of imbalances/Illness we must base our task on naturally existing entities in order to have a meaningful and furthermore functional state in regard to diagnosis and treatment.

The allopathic functional hypothesis of Disease would be functional only if it was characterized by the same, more or less, Etiology, Pathogenesis, Clinical Picture, Laboratory Findings and Treatment for all patients of the same Disease. Then, it would be meaningful and functional to employ statistics and research and only then their results would be reliable and scientific.

23 Does that ring a bell in your mind? Does that explain why billions of allopathic medical statistical research findings are so contradictory and chaotic? There’s nothing wrong with the science of Mathematics! There’s so much wrong with the “Science” of Allopathic Medicine mainly because its foundation is the concept of Disease!

1.8 The allopathic concept of Disease ignores the individuality of Man The allopathic concept of Disease is founded on materialistic thinking that considers Man only as a Material Body, merely as a living organism whose “life” has nothing to do with Etheric Energy or Psyche. Following the materialistic line of thinking, since all human beings are, more or less, composed of the same organs and organic systems, then they pretty much have the same physiology and the same pathology triggered by similar etiology and thus requiring the same treatment.

However, this is definitely not the case! Different people under the influence of the same external causes develop different pathology and require different treatment. The reason for this well established fact is the obvious truth that each human being, each individual, is but a unique multilevel living creature (material, etheric, psychic, social). Moreover, he is an Individual Psyche with past lives that bear specific fruits in the form of inherited Miasmatic and Idiosyncratic Influences that also define his present Physical and Psychological Chronic Predispositions.

All the above contribute to this unique nature, to this amazing individuality of any individual (see how justified is the term!). That’s the reason why in Homeopathy and Holistic Medicine each case is considered as an individual case; and this is a fundamental Homeopathic and Holistic Law.

Let me lay down some relevant examples. Under the influence of the same morbific factors - cold, fatigue, unhealthy nutrition, tobacco,

24 divorce, financial problems, job problems – some people remain healthy and balanced while others may develop a slight, medium or severe Illness and some even die. Another example: different people may be struck by the same factor, namely “death of a beloved person”: one may maintain his healthy state, the other may develop herpes of the lips, the third one may develop a gastric ulcer, the fourth one develops depression and the fifth person commits suicide!

Even in the case where two people under the influence of the same external factor (extreme cold) develop the same disease (pneumonia), yet their symptoms, both physical and psychological, will vary a lot. The one may have a tremendous anguish that he is going to die; he will feel icycold although he has a high fever, will be very thirsty and will have copious nasal secretion and expectoration. The other may have the opposite symptoms: calmness, heat, absence of fever and thirst, dryness of mucous and absence of secretions.

You see, Allopathic Medicine classified different forms of Illness to Diseases according to rough clinical picture and pathology and not according to the uniqueness of the individual patients. That’s the reason why we homeopaths say that “Allopathic Medicine treats the Disease while Homeopathy/Holistic Medicine treats the patient”!

1.9 Illness versus Disease! Disease refers to local physical pathology, more or less, common to all human beings while Illness has to do with individual miasmatic and idiosyncratic psychosomatic pathology of the person/patient as a whole. Allopathy deals with Disease/Pathology while Homeopathy and Holistic Medicine deals with Illness/Individual.

This fundamental difference in the approach of the phenomena of Health/Illness is also responsible for the fact that Allopathic Treatment

25 merely suppresses symptoms or pathogenesis while Homeopathic Treatment is focused on restoring balance in a very primary level, the Etheric Level, by administering energy remedies and thus achieving the elimination of all physical and psychological symptoms and the restoration of Health as a whole. Allopathic treatment is, more or less, the same for patients suffering from the same Disease while homeopathic treatment is similar to the patient’s Idiosyncrasy/Illness and not similar to his Disease.

It’s also very important to realize that Disease refers only to the body (Allopathic pharmaceutical psychiatric treatment treats the brain and nervous system and not the Psyche of the patient) while Illness refers to the psychosomatic whole of the individual. The Greek term for Illness is quite revealing of its meaning. In Greek language Illness is “A-sthenia”, i.e. “lack of strength”. Strength is a general term that refers to the psychosomatic whole while pathology refers only to local organs/systems.

It is only when a person loses his strength primarily on his Etheric Level/Vitality that he tends secondarily to develop physical symptoms and psychological symptoms. Moreover, his symptoms have certain specific individual characteristics (modalities) according to miasmatic and idiosyncratic influences of the individual. It’s the whole that defines the part and not vice-versa according to the Law of Hierarchy.

1.10 Acute and Chronic Illness Let me give you an example. Take the case of a psoric Lycopodium individual, i.e. a person that at this present time is mainly influenced by the Psoric Miasm and by the Idiosyncrasy Lycopodium.

When this person under several external or internal factors develops an Acute Illness he may rarely remain under the same influence of his

26 previous Chronic Idiosyncrasy (Lycopodium) or as a rule gradually and consecutively get under the influence of some Acute Idiosyncrasies until he returns back, after a few days, to the influence of his previous Chronic Idiosyncrasy. Sometimes, the severity of Acute Illness and attitude of the patient towards his Illness in combination with other factors may result in changing the Chronic Idiosyncrasy that influences the patient, for example from Lycopodium to Argentum Nitricum or Sulphur or Phosphor (related psoric Chronic Idiosyncrasies).

This fact raises a question: “What’s the difference between Chronic and Acute Illness?” When it comes to Allopathic Medicine we always refer to Disease and not to Illness and so Acute Disease is any sudden and usually intense onset of clinical picture usually of short duration that may be a result of relapse of a Chronic Disease or may stand on its own. Consequently, Chronic Disease is any gradual onset of clinical picture that lasts long, sometimes for a lifetime, and is characterized by periods of remission of symptoms and intervals of exacerbation of symptoms (Acute Disease). A Chronic Disease, if severe, may even be the cause of death of the patient during a certain exacerbation (Acute Disease).

In Homeopathy we simply accept these concepts of Chronic and Acute Disease merely for the purpose of communication with our allopathic colleagues. Yet, we are deeply aware that such classification of human pathology isn’t functional because it isn’t based on naturally existing entities. On the contrary, in Homeopathy and Holistic Medicine we set the foundations of our diagnostic and therapeutic effort on the concepts of Chronic and Acute Illness, since they not only have a natural background but they also refer to the whole of the person/patient.

1.11 The broad range of concepts “Illness” and “Chronic Illness” As already mentioned, concept of Illness in Homeopathy and Holistic Medicine has a very broad range, clearly broader than concept of Disease-local pathology. To be more precise it involves not only Material Level of Man but Lower Energy Level, Etheric Level, Lower Psychic

27 Level and Social Level as well. In addition, it also involves the relation of this individual with corresponding external Worlds, i.e. Material World, Lower Energy World, Etheric World and Lower Psychic World.

We, deliberately, didn’t include Individual Spirit of the person and his relation with Spiritual World, since these two, being parts of World of Uniqueness, are above duality and thus above phenomena of HealthIllness. Health at the level of Spiritual World surpasses the conventional terms Health-Illness in the same way that purity is above the conventional Good-Bad.

The concept of Illness from a holistic/homeopathic point of view, in my opinion, also includes negative past Karma/Destiny accumulated from past earthly lives of any specific Individual Psyche. Past Karma/Destiny is “inherited” to this earthly life through miasmatic and idiosyncratic influences at the time of birth that give rise to the persons physical and psychological Chronic Predispositions.

Concept of Illness also includes all those negative influences that come from the phase of spiral evolution of Universe, Earth and Humanity and affect any person at the given time of his earthly life. Last but not least, Illness also has to do with negative physical and psychological actions of any person during this life time from birth until recently; actions for which the person is responsible since he has the gift of Free Will by the Creator.

1.12 Etiological Chain of Illness and Karmic Heredity In agreement with Holistic Thinking, whenever we refer to Chronic Illness in general, all the above mentioned levels and factors are involved. Furthermore, whenever we refer to a specific individual we must bear in mind the whole Etiological Chain of Illness at present time.

28 For example, John, as we know him at the present time as patient, relative or friend, carries with him “inherently”, as soon as he is born, what could be called “Karmic Heredity”. Parts of his Karmic Heredity are Psychic and Etheric Karmic Heredity that have nothing to do with his parents but are directly connected to John’s own actions during his previous earthly lives.

Psychic Karmic Heredity determines when this Individual Psyche of John (as he is called in this earthly life) will be reincarnated in relation to the evolution of Universe/Earth/Humanity and where in terms of continent/country/place. It also determines whose parent’s child John will be, i.e. in what kind of embryo this psyche will reside. Moreover, it will also determine the specific Individual Etheric Body which will give life to the above embryo. This specific Individual Etheric Body will play a major role in regard to the phenomenon of Health and Illness.

Nowadays, we know through the use of Kirlian Photograph that until the end of the third month of pregnancy the embryo is made live by the Etheric Body of the mother. At the end of the third month a dramatic change takes place. John’s Individual Psyche enters the embryo (reincarnation) bringing with it the proper Individual Etheric Body of John. That’s the reason why after that specific time the pregnant woman when photographed by the Kirlian Method has two different Auras: the Aura of mother and the Aura of embryo (John’s aura).

Allopathic Medicine accepts only the existence of Physical Heredity since it considers Man to be exclusively a material organism. In addition, Allopathy believes that physical hereditary characteristics of child are but a random combination of parental genes and characteristics. It’s true that the child’s hereditary characteristics are a combination of the parental genes, but it’s by no chance a random one.

29 There’s nothing random or accidental in Universe! As Jesus said, “Even the hairs of your heads are of a determined number”. Universe obeys strictly to Universal Laws. Ancient Greeks believed that even gods, even Zeus, the father of all gods, obey Fate and Destiny.

We know from Physics that both Material World and Lower Energy World follow and obey certain Universal Laws. If Lower Worlds follow Universal Laws it’s illogical to believe that Higher Worlds like Etheric, Psychic and Spiritual are not ruled by the same Universal Laws, since Lower Worlds originate from Higher in the same way that matter originates from energy.

How then can one support that in a lawful Universe something as important as an individual’s Physical Heredity is left like a puppet in the hands of chance? If any individual at this present earthly life is but the present continuation of the story of successive lives of a specific Individual Psyche, how can it begin its new life with critical characteristics decided by chance? Such a thing would be contrary to the Universal Law of Cause and Result.

John’s Individual Psyche cannot reside in any random “house”/Physical Body and cannot be motivated by any random Etheric Body. Psychic Karmic Heredity determines both Etheric Karmic Heredity and Physical Karmic Heredity.

It’s a fact that Physical Karmic Heredity has to do with combination of genes of parents but it’s Higher Spiritual Beings that determine who will be John’s parents (what child the parents will give birth to) according to John’s past Karma/Destiny. This is not done arbitrary, by chance or purposeless. It’s done in such a perfect way that John will have the best chance to learn his moral lessons and pay his debts to his parents, society and Universe.

30

Ancient Greeks considered goddess “Chance” to be the same person as goddess “Necessity”! They also believed that the three goddesses called “Fates” determined earthly life of any mortal, of any Individual Psyche. In fact, they thought that each Fate had to do with a certain part of Karma/Destiny. “Lachesis”, “Klotho” and “Atropos”, the three Fates, had to do with the Past Karma, Present Karma and Future Karma. Goddess of Past Karma was the one to determine conditions of birth and congenital characteristics of any person according to his actions in past lives.

1.13 Relation between Karmic Heredity and Miasms/Idiosyncrasies For thousands of years before birth and growth of Homeopathy all the above deep, esoteric truths were well known in many religions and philosophical movements. Reincarnation, Successive Earthly Lives and Karma/Destiny are common beliefs of the past. Yet, it wasn’t clear how Past Karma was “inherited” or passed over to reincarnated Individual Psyche.

It’s the experimental methodology of homeopathic Provings that enabled us to discover Idiosyncrasies as negative etheric entities. And it’s the clinical practice of Homeopathy that revealed to Hahnemann and homeopathic doctors the existence of Miasms as primary negative etheric entities corresponding to Yin and Yang. Indeed, Miasms and Idiosyncrasies are the mechanisms through which Past Karma of an Individual Psyche is passed over to the new reincarnated individual! Chronic physical and psychological Predispositions of any individual are passed over to him from his Individual Psyche through Miasms and Idiosyncrasies.

I am fully aware that such declarations may cause “allergic” shocks to any materialistic and atheistic mind and of course to any dogmatic religious mind. Yet, it’s not my role/mission as scientist and therapist to manipulate people minds in order to be acceptable or gain fans. I’m a

31 searcher of Truth, whatever that may be! In my search I try to stay tuned with Universal Laws so as to be as closer as possible to Universal Reality and Truth.

I also try to confirm and reconfirm these truths and theoretical conceptions in every day clinical practice. As I said sometime previously “White cat, black cat; what matters is how many mice it catches!”

I simply express my beliefs and my experience. Any person is free to listen and check these beliefs in order to confirm them or reject them. He is also free not even to think about it! He can simply shut this book and “sent me to Hell” or simply say “Bullshit!”

Samuel Hahnemann, a German Chemist and at the same time Professor of Medicine and Pharmacology of his times, founder of Therapeutic System of Homeopathy, was the first one to introduce the Theory of Miasms. For over twenty years he has been successfully treating Acute Illness by prescribing according to the new method of treatment established by him.

Yet, a growing disappointment got over him as he realized that he could not annihilate Chronic Predispositions of his patients. He could cure a cold but recurrent colds kept coming back. He could cure acute arthritis but Rheumatic Predisposition was there creating new episodes of acute inflammation. What was wrong?

Gathering numerous experimental and clinical data of two decades he found common tendencies through various symptoms of various Diseases. He managed to isolate three kinds of general tendencies that affected any man’s body and psyche which he named Psoric Miasm, Sycotic Miasm and Syphilitic Miasm. He considered the first one as the “mother” of the other two; as the primary miasm that set the background for the generation of all diseases, in fact of Illness in general.

32

Being a faithful Christian he supported that Illness as a phenomenon originated from the Fall of Man from Paradise/Spiritual World due to the Original Sin which was human vanity. The mechanism that spread Illness through the entire human race was initially Psoric Miasm which in time gave birth to the other two Miasms.

Eastern Religions/Philosophies introduce the same hypotheses for the origin of Illness although they use different terminology. They also speak of the Fall of Man from Spiritual World and his enslavement in the “Realm of Birth and Death” through successive lives and reincarnations.

Man was carried away from the Creator due to his negative actions; these negative actions created Karma and subsequently physical pain, unhappiness and Illness. So, Man is doomed to successive lives in order to learn his lesson and return back to the arms of the Creator in Spiritual World where there is no Health/Disease duality but only balance at a higher level.

1.14 Earthly life: A new chess play starts again… We know from homeopathic clinical practice that, even from the moment of birth, every newly born child carries with it certain Miasmatic and Idiosyncratic Influences and certain Chronic Predispositions.

Let me propose an analogy. Just think that the beginning of any man’s life resembles to the beginning of a chess game. However, there’s an important difference. The game does not start from scratch! It’s rather the continuation of a chess game that was left unfinished!

John’s beginning of life, for example, resembles such a left-unfinished chess game. So when John is born - actually when he is reborn - his

33 pawns, queen, king, horses, etc, are already placed in a specific formation and so is the army of his opponent player. Let’s say that his army consists of the positive actions and virtues that he gained through battles of his previous lives while the opponent army consists of his negative actions and vices that originated from the same route through time. So, the beginning of his new life is already planned and decided according to his previous lives. A new play is to begin, yet it brings with it the profits and losses of past games.

In conclusion, the state of Chronic Illness of John, at any given moment, depends largely on Miasmatic Heredity/Idiosyncratic Heredity/Chronic Predispositions with which he was born and partly on his actions up to the present time. As a result, there’s no State of absolute Health during earthly life of any human being; only a State of Relative Health. At the time of birth certain “seeds” of Illness are already grown trees while others are waiting for the proper negative environment to pop up.

For example, what we have already called Miasmatic and Idiosyncratic Characteristics of a person is but the seeds of Illness waiting to thrive although Allopathic Medicine doesn’t identify it since it hasn’t yet taken the form of recognizable Pathology/Disease. Nevertheless, any homeopathic doctor is aware of these Miasmatic and Idiosyncratic Characteristics and can identify it even in the state of “Clinical Health”, “Relative Health” or “Chronic Illness”, whatever may be called.

1.15 When the allopathic “clinically healthy” equals the homeopathic “chronic patient”! Once again let’s go back to the example of John, a psoric Lycopodium subject at the state of Clinical Health. There exist no clinical symptoms, no laboratory findings and no findings from any medical device. Yet, homeopathic case taking can easily trace and identify certain miasmatic and idiosyncratic characteristics and certain chronic predispositions.

34 To be more specific, John is a psoric and introvert individual. He is very intellectual yet coward in a masked way; he has a considerable amount of sexual lust yet without great performance skills in the field. Furthermore, he has a sensitive stomach, a great tendency to eat very quickly and the right side of his body is very sensitive and prone to problems. All the above are miasmatic characteristics, idiosyncratic characteristics and chronic predispositions; they aren’t clinical symptoms, signs or findings in any way.

However, if John burdens his back with a lot of weight lifting and carrying, if he doesn’t eat healthy and if on top of that he is involved in a relation with a syphilitic Valeriana woman who will play hell with him sexually and emotionally, then he tends to develop back pain on the right side, duodenal ulcer, early ejaculation and depression. In addition, all these diseases, either acute or chronic will bear the specific characteristics of Psoric Miasm and the specific characteristics of idiosyncrasy Lycopodium.

A transition was made from the State of Clinical Health/Chronic Illness bearing miasmatic and idiosyncratic characteristics to the State of Acute Illness with two Acute Diseases (acute back pain, acute duodenal ulcer) and two Chronic Diseases (depression, early ejaculation) bearing clinical symptoms. Is it now obvious how important is in Medicine and in Science to employ the correct and valid terms?

Allopathic state of Clinical Health, that characterizes most of our lifetime, equals Homeopathic state of Chronic Illness. This State of Clinical Health/Chronic Illness is at times interrupted by the state of Acute Illness. We must discriminate between the Allopathic term Acute Disease and the Homeopathic term Acute Illness.

Acute Illness is the acute, yet general disorder of the patient as a whole. It originates from the exacerbation of Chronic Illness as defined previously.

35 On the other hand, Acute Disease is defined by Allopathy as the acute local disorder, either physical or psychological, that may origin from a Chronic Disease or stand on itself. As a result, during Acute Illness there may be one or more Acute Diseases and during Chronic Illness there may be one or more Chronic Diseases.

1.16 The chaotic nature of Allopathic Diagnosis and Treatment created by the conception of Disease Let’s shed more light to the above by taking the previous example of John to a step forward. John, the psoric Lycopodium individual with the above mentioned chronic predispositions, has finally managed to disengage from that devastating relation with that Valerian woman. He is torn into pieces!

A friend invites him to a skiing travel up to Olympus Mountain “so as to forget his worries”. He is exposed to cold all day during skiing and late at night, while exhausted he eats fit to burst and drinks a lot of icy-cold water. All night long during his interrupted sleep his stomach is killing him while he experiences alternating heat and cold.

In the morning he wakes up feeling lousy. He has a sore throat, a troubling cough, chest pain, difficult respiration and thick, yellow expectoration with spots of brown blood. He also has nasal secretion, obstruction nose, sinuses painful to the touch, headache, vomiting and diarrhea. His violent cough causes pain at the area of right inguinal hernia. Diarrhea inflames his hemorrhoids. He feels very cold and shivering; he just can’t get enough clothing and blankets. He starts thinking that he is severely ill and he is afraid that he may die.

He urgently drives to the nearest hospital and the pathologist diagnoses Acute Rhinitis, Sinusitis and Tonsillitis. He is advised to see a pneumologist and the latter diagnoses Pneumonia. Gastroenterologist of

36 the Emergency Team of the Hospital adds the diagnosis of Gastroenteritis. The surgeon on call decides that he isn’t an emergency surgical case, yet, he suffers from exacerbation of the symptoms of Hernia and Hemorrhoids. Finally, the psychiatrist reaches the diagnosis of Panic Attack on a background of Chronic Depression.

What a troubling situation! In one and single state of Acute Illness five doctors of Allopathic Medicine have reached diagnosis of eight Acute Diseases: Acute Rhinitis, Sinusitis, Tonsillitis, Pneumonia, Gastroenteritis, Inflamed Hernia, Inflamed Hemorrhoids and Panic Attack!

In addition, in the entry medical history of this patient seven Chronic Diseases are listed: Chronic Sinusitis with mucous hypertrophy, Recurrent Tonsillitis, Chronic Respiratory Disease, history of Chronic Gastritis and Duodenal Ulcer, Right Hernia, Hemorrhoids and Depression!

-Do you now realize the chaotic state of Allopathic Diagnosis? -Do you understand how misleading and not functional is the allopathic concept of Disease, a product of the Materialistic and Mechanical Thinking? -Can you see how chaotic diagnosis becomes if you take local clinical symptoms and turn them into arbitrary entities of Illness called Diseases?

On the contrary, Homeopathic Holistic Thinking is based on naturally existing entities like Miasms and Idiosyncrasies that run through almost all human levels of existence (with the exception of the Spiritual Level) either at the state of Chronic Illness or at the state of Acute Illness.

37 If we go back on a previously mentioned example, what runs through the species of parrot isn’t the color of his feathers but those, naturally given determinant characteristics that make him have the anatomy, physiology, etheric body and psychology of a parrot. The same stands bold for Man. The determinant characteristics of Illness in any individual aren’t the arbitrary conceptions of Acute or Chronic Diseases but Miasmatic and Idiosyncratic Influences that run through nearly all the levels of a human being either at a state of Chronic Illness or Acute Illness.

Let’s take the example of John’s case a step forward. Allopathic doctors of 5 specialties have diagnosed 8 different Acute Diseases and 7 different Chronic Diseases. How about if for each Acute Disease every specialist prescribed from 1 to 3 different drugs? Let’s narrow this down to one drug for each category for this certain case: antibiotic, nasal decongestant, a drug for the increase of mucous secretion, antipyretic-painkiller, bronchodilator, cortisone spray, anti-diarrheal drug, and anti-anxiety drug.

We reach the sum of 8, minimum, allopathic drugs! Do you think that I exaggerate? Well, I don’t think so! I do live in this planet and on top of that, patients come every day in my office with a bunch load of drugs! And I don’t think that someone must be a doctor in order to experience this astonishing reality; he must have been a patient treated allopathically many times in his life. Moreover, have you ever thought how many and how severe side effects may be caused by all the above allopathic chemical drugs?

Is John’s nightmare over? Not yet! On exit from the hospital, poor John carries with him an official medical document that says: “We strongly recommend the use of antidepressants and anti-anxiety drugs for depression. Inhibitors should be used for chronic treatment of the existing gastritis-recurrent duodenal ulcer. In case of recurrent relapses of hemorrhoids and right hernia we recommend surgical treatment. In case of recurrent tonsillitis surgical extraction of tonsils should be considered.”

38

Again, do you think that I exaggerate? Well, once again, I don’t think so! Take a minute and think also of all side effects that may come up if John follows the recommendations for the treatment of his Chronic Diseases with chemical drugs for a long time; in addition think of negative implications from any surgery.

1.17 Homeopathy: easy, valid and functional diagnosis; harmless and effective treatment What can Homeopathy do in John’s case? In the field of diagnosis only one homeopathic doctor would be needed having the knowledge of every General Practitioner. In rare cases a surgeon or another specialist would be of help. Apart from allopathic diagnosis, homeopathic doctor would proceed to diagnosis of the one and only homeopathic medicine similar to Acute Idiosyncrasy that is similar to present Acute Illness, for example Arsenicum Album.

This Acute Idiosyncrasy would cover the totality of symptoms of the patient as a psychosomatic whole. The corresponding homonymous homeopathic remedy (Arsenicum Album) would ensure a quick (hours to a few days) and harmless cure restoring the patient back to his previous state of Clinical Health/Chronic Illness. No side effects at all, no suppression of symptoms or Illness, low cost, effective cure!

In Acute Illness things change rapidly and at times more than one Acute Idiosyncrasies may develop successively until this acute phase is surpassed. Accordingly, each state will call for the similar to the state homeopathic remedy.

After the state of Acute Illness has passed, homeopathic doctor would recommend John to continue treatment with focus on Chronic Illness and Chronic Predispositions. Now, it would be time for a Chronic

39 Idiosyncrasy, like Lycopodium in high potency (1M) in this case. Treatment would last for a couple of months depending on the case until not only his symptoms would vanish but also his chronic predispositions would be satisfactorily reduced to minimum. Perhaps, there would be need for repeating the same Chronic Remedy or a different, usually relevant one; the one that would match the changes of the patient’s idiosyncrasy.

Final outcome would be a healthy, happy man characterized by elevated state of Health, reduced Chronic Predispositions, stronger, more durable, more efficient in all fields of life, spending less money to doctors and drugs and having not to worry about side-effects and implications of any kind. That’s what Homeopathic Treatment does! If, of course it’s homeopathic! That’s what Holistic Treatment does! If, of course it’s holistic!

1.18 The three routes of Acute Disease and the two routes of Acute Illness In any Acute Disease Allopathic Medicine describes three possible routes, three possible endings. If the organism is strong enough then symptoms will subside very soon no matter how strong they will be and cure will be the result.

If the organism is very feeble and tired then the outcome may be death. Finally, in the case of an organism with medium strength, without the ability for complete cure, Acute Disease changes form and becomes Chronic Disease; it’s a compromise between organism and Illness.

In Acute Illness, Homeopathy describes only two possibilities: complete cure in the sense of changing back to the state of Clinical Health/Chronic Illness or death.

CHAPTER 2

WHAT ARE SYMPTOMS? WHAT DO WE TREAT IN MEDICINE?

2.1 Do symptoms belong to Disease or to Patient? 2.2 The Materialistic View of the “Man-Machine” 2.3 The Homeopathic/Holistic View of Man 2.4 Individual response to the same morbific causes 2.5 Are symptoms “good” or “bad”? 2.6 Useful and Harmful Symptoms 2.7 How do we treat Useful and Harmful Symptoms? 2.8 Etiological Chain of Illness 2.9 At what level of Etiological Chain of Illness acts each Morbific Factor? 2.10 All useful Symptoms are created by patient’s Therapeutic Mechanisms 2.11 Allopathic Treatment: at what level of Etiological Chain of Illness does it act? 2.12 Other Treatments: at what level of Etiological Chain of Illness do they act? 2.13 Homeopathy: at what levels of Etiological Chain of Illness does it act?

41 2.1 Do symptoms belong to Disease or to Patient? In Chapter 1 we have analyzed and compared Allopathy and Homeopathy/Holistic Medicine in regard to conceptions of Health/Illness. We have also focused on the critical difference between Disease and Illness. Furthermore we have discussed homeopathic conception of Acute and Chronic Illness. Now, it’s time to discuss two more very important subjects: What are symptoms? What do we treat in Medicine?

Allopathic Medicine considers symptoms as the direct outcome of the influence of external morbific causes to organism; to be more specific, it’s Disease that causes symptoms. That’s the reason why the totality of symptoms from all organic systems which all patients diagnosed with the same Disease present, are considered the Clinical Picture of that specific Disease. When someone reads Clinical Picture of Pneumonia in any Medical Textbook, in reality he faces the totality of symptoms that all patients diagnosed with pneumonia developed when diseased.

Symptoms, according to medical terminology, are all those that the patient feels either physical or psychological; for instance pain, heat, nausea, fears, anger, etc. Signs, according to medical terminology, are all those that the doctor observes while examining the patient; for example rushes, tumors, distortions, swelling, hemorrhage, etc. Symptoms and Signs, when put together, constitute the Clinical Picture of the Disease according to Allopathy or the Clinical Picture of the Patient according to Homeopathy.

Allopathic Medicine adds to this Clinical Picture all anatomical, histological, biochemical and laboratory findings of all patients diagnosed with the same disease. The sum of symptoms, signs and findings are the identity of this certain Disease.

42 In the final analysis, both, allopathic doctors and patients, nowadays, believe that Disease is something external, something “bad”; consequently all symptoms are but “bad” situations that belong to “bad” Disease. Accordingly and profoundly any treatment should aim at the fastest elimination of symptoms in any possible way, natural or unnatural. In every day allopathic clinical practice this is translated into suppression of symptoms or where this isn’t possible into suppression of the patient’s Immune System (Cortisone, Immunosuppressive drugs).

2.2 The Materialistic View of the “Man-Machine” The above views on symptoms and Disease arise from the Materialistic View of Man; Man is a being consisting only of matter! Man is merely a very complex, state of the art machine. Someone could disagree saying “a living complex organism”, yet, still Allopathic Medicine considers life a phenomenon produced only by matter(human body) denying its energy nature since it denies any existence of Individual Etheric Energy. Proportionately, Allopathic Medicine also denies the existence of any non material Psyche in Man since it considers psychological functions merely as direct outcome of brain’s material function.

If Allopathy considers Man as a complex machine then the following analogy will help us clear the scenery of allopathic views. We drive our car in a dirt road, hours after hours, exposed to the heat of the sun and to hot winds. The engine is overheated, strange noises trouble our ears and the car loses power. Our car is “diseased”.

We take it to the nearest Car Service (Hospital). The car mechanic (doctor) examines the “symptoms” and “signs” and discovers that the cooling system (thermoregulation system) has leaks (anatomical findings, hemorrhage) and that’s the reason (pathogenesis) of the Malfunction of Overheating (Disease). The mechanic (doctor) fixes the leaks (surgery) or replaces the radiator (transplantation) and fixes (cures) the Malfunction of Overheating (Disease). Can you see the resemblance of this mechanical diagnosis and treatment to the Allopathic Diagnosis and Treatment?

43

2.3 The Homeopathic/Holistic View of Man But, there’s a great “but” involved! Man isn’t a machine and furthermore, every individual is of a different “made”, of a different “brand”! Man has a lot more higher levels than the Material Level and moreover these higher levels govern and give life and motion to this lower Material Level.

In addition, Man, by nature, has his own built-in Self-Regulation and Auto-therapeutic Mechanisms: the Immune System on the Material Level, the Etheric Energy on the Etheric Level and the Psychic Defense Mechanisms on the Psychic Level. There’s a built-in “mechanic” in every individual person, a built-in doctor!

From birth until death our organism gives birth to new cells that replace the old or dead ones. During a life time even if our body seems, more or less the same, it’s being rebuilt again and again and this is true of the whole body as well as its parts, i.e. tissues, organs and organic systems.

Not only our anatomy, is renewed every day but also our biochemistry and our physiology. Homeostasis is constantly achieved each time at different levels. Our cells, organs and systems are under a constant education, learning each time how to achieve the best regulation, the best homeostasis for the benefit of the whole Man.

The members of the orchestra are constantly replaced by new ones including even the maestro, yet the orchestra achieves new standards and new performances. This amazing miracle can only be achieved if the orchestra (Material Body) is supplied with a steady flow of financial support (Etheric Energy) that is handled by the Board of Directors of the Orchestra (Individual Psyche) that does the management. This Board of Directors (Individual Psyche) is inspired by the Musical Manifesto of

44 Principles of the founder of the Orchestra (Individual Spirit) which defines the principles and mission of the Orchestra. In turn, the founder is inspired by the laws of harmony of music (Universal Laws) and by the Creator of Music (God)!

I am not such an imaginative writer! My ability to describe analogies originates from the fact that Universe is at the same time one and diverse according to Universal Law of Unity and Diversity. My ability also originates from the fact that our Universe has several hierarchical levels, the lower originating from the higher and all being analogous according to Universal Law of Analogy or Parallel Worlds.

I am not such an imaginative writer! I simply adore the wisdom of Universe and I keep observing it with amazed eyes, mind and heart! Only if you attach your imagination to the images of Universe, only then you become imaginative. Only if you attach your mind to the wisdom of Universe you become wise. Only if you attach your heart to the heart of Universe you become full of love! Only if you attach your body, mind and heart to the Creator of Universe you may become one with the Universe, one with the Creator and not only human; and not only an individual!

2.4 Individual response to the same morbific causes It’s time to “land” again on the specific subjects under discussion. One should not stay all the time “on air” and one should not stay all the time “landed”. There’s a time for flying and a time for being grounded. Both are essential for any human being because, by nature Man steps with his feet on Earth while at the same time he has his mind connected to the Sky. So, let’s go back to our subject.

While the car, the machine, in our previous example, is but a passive receiver of the external morbific causes, Man is not a passive receiver. He

45 is an active and wise whole with a numerous defensive, self-regulating and self-treating mechanisms. In fact, every individual has his own specialized and individualized defense mechanisms, self-regulating mechanisms and self-treating mechanisms. This is in accordance with the fact that individuals differ in regard to Material Level, Etheric Level and Psychic Level. In turn, this is due to their different Miasmatic and Idiosyncratic Influences which originate from their different previous lives.

That’s the reason why under the influence of the same external material or etheric morbific cause one person remains balanced, another one is slightly ill, a third one is severely ill and a fourth one is driven to death. A group of friends goes to ski at a mountain. Although they, more or less, wear the same clothing and are exposed for the same period of time, one doesn’t get ill, the other has a slight rhinitis and the third goes down with pneumonia. Even if a fourth one also goes down with pneumonia, nevertheless, symptoms, severity of the case and prognosis differ a lot.

I am not so much referring to their rough symptoms like cough, expectoration, fever, etc. I am referring to the modalities of their rough symptoms in respect to time, space, weather conditions, etc. and moreover to their psychological state during this Acute Illness. For example, the first one may have a cough due to dryness of mucous, coming in paroxysms, deteriorated in a warm room, ameliorated in open air, worse at night, etc. while the second one will have a cough due to copious expectoration, that is worse in the morning, better in a warm room, etc.

This diversity of response of a human being during Illness is more profound at the psychological level. Let me furnish you with an example. The mother of four young adult children dies from cancer. The first child may get over it very easily by find refuge to philosophy; he may even think: “Thank God, she left quickly and didn’t suffer much; things could have been a lot worse!” The second child will be very upset but after

46 crying and mourning for some days or weeks he finally gets over it and goes on with his life.

The third child will not cry at all. He will repress the fact, avoid talking about it, yet his whole life will change greatly and finally he will sink into depression. The fourth child will start suffering from guilt since he believes that his behavior towards his mother before her death wasn’t at all the right one. In the end, he will punish himself by committing suicide!

In conclusion, symptoms and even Illness itself, isn’t something that primarily has to do with external factors but it’s something that primarily has to do with the individual, with the patient, with this specific human being.

2.5 Are symptoms “good” or “bad”? If this conclusion is true, then we must, as doctors, focus primarily on the patient and not on the Disease or on the External Morbific Causes. Furthermore, we must realize that more important are those symptoms that have to do with the patient and are characteristic of the patient than rough symptoms that have to do with pathology and are common for all patients suffering from the same Disease.

We must realize that most symptoms do not belong to the arbitrary concept of Disease but to the effort of the individual to get over the disorder triggered by external morbific factors. At this point someone could say: “Gosh! Details! You are being very fussy, you split hairs!”

Well, I don’t think so! Because if we consider all symptoms as something “external” and “bad”, as the direct result of an external, “bad” Disease

47 then we are fully justified to suppress any symptom and thus, often, suppress Illness in deeper levels, levels that are more crucial to life itself.

On the contrary, if we consider symptoms as “useful”, that is, as a result of the effort of our defensive mechanism to get over the disorder triggered by external morbific factors, then, not only should we suppress them but we may even induce them or strengthen the organism as a whole in order to overcome Illness.

It’s a very important difference and a crucial one because many of the so called “side effects” of the use of chemical drugs and many of the implications of any Illness come from the suppression of symptoms/Illness/Immune System by allopathic chemical drugs. The numerous side effects of any chemical allopathic drug are due to two reasons/mechanisms. The one mechanism is the direct poisoning of the organism and the other mechanism is the suppression of symptoms/diseases/immune system.

2.6 Useful and Harmful Symptoms At this point, we must wonder about the following crucial questions: “Are all symptoms the same?” “Are all symptoms useful and beneficial for the organism?” “Are all symptoms harmful for the organism?” “Should we accept and induce all symptoms or should we suppress them?”

Well, as in many cases, answer is in the middle and not at the extreme viewpoints because there are in general two kinds of symptoms: those that are the direct outcome of the mobilization of patient’s Defense Mechanism and must be considered as useful and those that are the result of pathology and disorder that must be considered as potentially harmful.

48 In Chronic Illness we don’t have symptoms; we have characteristics. In Acute Illness, Acute Diseases and Chronic Diseases we have both useful and harmful symptoms. This mixture happens because in all above cases we have a combination of two states: disorder caused by pathology and effort for order caused by Defense Mechanism of the patient. If pathology prevails (for example in advanced cases of Illness) then harmful symptoms prevail. If pathology doesn’t prevail and the patient’s organism is vigorous and has the control then useful symptoms prevail.

Symptoms that originate from Mechanism of Inflammation or from mobilization of the Immune System or from any Detoxification Mechanism are, by nature, useful symptoms. The same is true at the psychological level for symptoms that are the outcome of mobilization of Psychological Defense Mechanisms.

For example, fever, expectoration, perspiration, diarrhea and vomiting are useful symptoms. The same is true for findings like the increase of White Blood Cells in a case of pneumonia. Accordingly, at the Psychic Level when a patient with great anxiety bursts into tears and talks about his problems and after that he feels better, these tears and outburst are useful symptoms. Or when a coward and suppressed person manages to take out his anger and then feels better, once again, his expression of suppressed anger is a useful psychological symptom.

Now let us see some examples of harmful symptoms and signs. If you have a patient with hyperthyroidism he tends to have increased appetite yet he grows thinner; his body temperature is erased and he can’t stand heat at all; he is restless and he easily gets angry; his eyes are protruded; his thyroid gland is enlarged; his metabolism rate is increased. In this case increased appetite, intolerance of heat, restlessness and irritability are harmful symptoms because they are the outcome of a disorder not controlled by the patient’s organism and natural psychological Defense Mechanisms. Accordingly, emaciation, increased body temperature,

49 protruded eyes, increased metabolism and enlarged thyroid gland are harmful findings.

If anyone tries to find at what cases of Disease do we have useful or harmful symptoms/findings he will be confused. There are two reasons responsible for this fact. The one is that, as explained previously in details, Disease is an arbitrary concept with no naturally existing background. The other reason is that in all cases of Acute Illness, Acute Disease and Chronic Disease we encounter both kinds of symptoms/findings, useful and harmful. The percentage of useful/harmful symptoms/findings varies according to the degree of existing pathology and to the degree of control that the patient’s Physical and Psychological Defense Mechanisms have over the situation.

2.7 How do we treat Useful and Harmful Symptoms? In conclusion, we must discriminate between harmful and useful symptoms/findings and act accordingly. We mustn’t suppress useful symptoms and if possible even induce them if the patient has the ability to stand that. Furthermore, we should try to eliminate harmful symptoms by natural therapeutic means without suppressing Illness or the patient’s Defense Mechanism.

Only when harmful symptoms endanger patient’s life and only if we can’t overcome this emergency situation with natural therapeutic means, only then we have the legal and moral right to suppress symptoms or suppress patient’s Defense Mechanism or perform a surgical operation.

For example, if I have a case of progressed allergic shock and I haven’t got any natural therapeutic means to overcome it or if I have prescribed for example homeopathic medicines and the results are poor or not yet profound, then I must have no hesitation to administer Cortisone in order to save the patient’s life even if the latter suppresses the patient’s Immune

50 System. Or if I have a case of advanced Appendicitis and I can’t control it by natural therapeutic means I must not hesitate to proceed to surgical operation. Or if I have eliminated all other symptoms, useful and harmful by homeopathic treatment, but yet, due to an anatomic obstacle, let’s say a deformed meniscus in the Knee joint, the physiology of the joint can’t get back to normal, then I am fully justified to proceed also to surgical operation.

We must never be fanatic and say: “I am a homeopathic doctor and I am against surgery and against any allopathic medicine!” Or, “I am a doctor of “Orthodox” Medicine, a true scientist and I am against any medicine or technique of the so called Holistic or Complementary Medicine!” Fanaticism, no matter from what part it comes, is always bad for medical profession and most important bad for patient’s benefit.

2.8 Etiological Chain of Illness Once again we will refer to the example of John who went skiing with his company and got down with pneumonia; more specifically, “pneumococcal pneumonia”. If we want to be scientific we must be holistic in regard to our way of thinking; this can only be achieved if we examine the Etiological Chain of Illness that let to this final outcome.

“First things, first” and first things are Karmic Heredity of John expressed in the form of Miasmatic and Idiosyncratic Influences which in turn gave birth to his Chronic Predispositions. John has been psoric(predominantly under the influence of psoric miasm) since his childhood and one of the most frequent idiosyncrasies that also affects him since childhood for long periods of time and even recently, is Chronic Idiosyncrasy Lycopodium. His Chronic Predispositions are: very sensitive Peptic System (especially stomach) and sensitive Respiratory System (especially sinuses and lungs).

51 During the last couple of years he is facing a lot of professional stress due to his suppressive boss and also a considerable stress due to financial problems. On top of that, his affair, a syphilitic Valeriana individual, discovered that he has been cheating on her. As a result she is constantly making scenes of jealousy although he apologized and promised not to cheat on her again. She has always been very jealous but now things have gone to extremes.

Things have gone worse since he constantly tries to prove to her that sexually nothing has changed between them, i.e. he goes to bed with her often, even if he hasn’t got the desire. Being pressed to have sex even without desire, he no longer enjoys sex so much and this leads to inadequate erection or early ejaculation. To make things worse, his partner perceives his sexual malfunction as proof that he is still under the influence of his previous affair. In addition, during a quarrel she calls him “impotent”. All the above facts affect John immensely because of his psoric miasm and because of his Lycopodium idiosyncrasy and block the flow of Etheric Energy in his body.

For the last couple months he doesn’t get a good night’s sleep and he eats fast food and junk food. The latter increase the blockage of flow of his Etheric Energy and fill his body with toxins. His existing indigestion becomes even greater and fills him with more toxins.

The day he went skiing at mountain Olympus, he exaggerated and got exhausted, overheated and full of sweat. He got careless and stayed with light clothing for some time although drenched with sweat. On top of that, after a long day’s skiing he ate a lot of spicy sausages and drank much beer late at night although he is not used to drinking.

He got up after a few hours of troubled sleep feeling lousy. At first he felt hot and cold alternately. Then he started feeling all his body ice-cold while his head was very congested and felt as if in an oven. Chills ran all

52 over his body and especially along his spine as if icy water was poured on him. His stomach was a mess. He also had copious transparent watery nasal secretion, high fever, sore throat, obstructed nose, dry cough and chest pain.

Intensity of his symptoms and chest pain terrified him. “Oh my God”, he thought, “I must have caught pneumonia!” He felt flooded with anxiety, anguish and intense fear of impending death. Although exhausted he couldn’t sit still; he walked up and down worried; he was so afraid that he hated the fact that he was alone with no one to take him to the hospital if he suddenly lost his consciousness. Yet, he didn’t want his friends to see him in such a mess.

He took the car and drove as fast as he could to the nearest hospital. He was diagnosed with pneumonia. Laboratory exams verified clinical diagnosis adding the term “pneumococcal”. He received proper for the case antibiotics in high dosage.

2.9 At what level of Etiological Chain of Illness acts each Morbific Factor? I deliberately, described John’s case in details because his example will be very useful in my attempt to show you what Etiological Chain of Illness is. Furthermore, this will be useful to my intention of giving a good look at what level of this chain each Morbific Factor acts so as to define his contribution to the final outcome. My final goal is to reveal at what level/levels of Etiological Chain of Illness each Therapeutic System acts. A full and detailed analysis of the above subjects has been carried out in my book “Origin and Causes of Illness”.

It’s obvious that all psychological morbific factors act on Psychic Level and that’s also the case with John. Subsequently, disorder of Psychic Level affects normal flow of Etheric Energy through the Meridians and

53 this, in turn, affects body. Stress also directly affects all physiological functions through Autonomic Nervous System.

It’s of great importance to understand that any psychological stress factor is perceived in a different way from any person according to his Idiosyncrasy. For example a sycotic Medorhinum, most probably, would not react like John, the psoric Lycopodium individual. He would probably use the “fuck” word for his companion and certainly wouldn’t have any kind of guilt for his cheating on her. In the case of his boss he would probably say “Get off my back” even risking to get fired.

Let’s get back to John. Inadequate sleep does not give his body and psyche the chance to make “repairs” on physical and psychic level and in addition disorders his Etheric Energy. Unhealthy nutrition deprives his Etheric Body from fresh, natural Etheric Energy. It also fills his body with toxins. His Chronic Predisposition in regard to digestion makes things worse. Sausages and beer late at night drive things to extremes. His organism is full of toxins and needs urgently detoxification.

The last straw is exhaustion from skiing and exposure to cold while full in sweat. This exposure is the pretext that his wise organism had long been looking for in order to detoxify itself by mobilization of one of the most efficient self-repairing and therapeutic mechanisms, i.e. Mechanism of Inflammation.

However, Inflammation is not the beginning of Acute Illness. The onset of Acute Illness has already begun at the energy level, at the Etheric Level and had a specific form that resembled the Acute Idiosyncrasy Arsenicum. That’s the reason why clinical picture, physical and psychological of John is the one similar to Arsenicum, already roughly described.

54 2.10 All useful Symptoms are created by the patient’s Therapeutic Mechanisms Therapeutic Mechanism of Inflammation creates many physical symptoms like nasal secretions, perspiration, copious urination, fever, chills, increased thirst, anorexia, cough, expectoration, etc. All the above symptoms aim at the same useful purpose, i.e. detoxification of the patient, cleaning of the system. Moreover, these symptoms are not the outcome of any loss of control of the organism. On the contrary, they are the product of a vigorous organism that tries to control disorder and overcome it. That’s why they should be considered as useful symptoms.

The same is also true for most cases of gastroenteritis. Colds in winter and Gastroenteritis in summer are two beneficial cleaning procedures helping the organism to detoxify itself by two naturally designed phenomena.

Let’s get back to our example of John. At a certain time of Inflammation procedure a peculiar cooperative worker of Nature comes in the scenery to help finish the job. He is pneumonococus! He is the “recycler” of Nature, the “decomposer”, the “garbage collector”. He is the right “man”, the right bacteria to do the job at this specific case of John. Special biochemical circumstances created in John’s lungs and upper respiratory system are the ones that favor his growth and feeding.

When his beneficial actions are completed and he is no more useful for the organism and in order not to have nay harmful implications the Immune System of John’s organism takes full action and exterminates the recycler. It’s crucial to realize that it’s the organism that mobilizes the Mechanism of Inflammation and controls the whole procedure; unless the organism is so exhausted (very old people) or immunosuppressed by allopathic medicines that he may start the procedure and later on lose control of things. If we permit our organism to do his therapeutic job then the result will be a cleaner, healthier and stronger organism.

55

But, if we suppress any therapeutic-cleaning procedure of the organism by the use of antipyretics, anti-cough drugs, anti-diarrhea drugs, antivomiting medicines, antibiotics and cortisone (immunosuppressive drug) then the whole beneficial and therapeutic effort of Inflammation will cease. All the above mentioned useful symptoms will be suppressed and the recycling action of pneumonococus will stop. The allopathic doctor will be excited by the “prompt and effective therapeutic results” of allopathic medicines! Yet, the bitter truth will be that organism has become more exhausted, more intoxicated and Illness will become more strong and sometimes at a deeper level.

This suppressed organism will be even more receptive to external morbific factors and very soon he will develop a new cold and probably need a new more powerful recycler-microorganism to finish the job since biochemical environment of John’s tissues is different and intoxicated than before. This is indeed, one of the troubling mechanisms that contribute to recurrent inflammations like recurrent colds, recurrent urine infections, recurrent vaginitis, etc.

Recurrent Inflammations can also occur when organism is very exhausted or very old or full of toxins by unhealthy nutrition or abuse of unhealthy substances like tobacco, alcohol, coffee, drugs, etc. Then, Mechanism of Inflammation won’t work properly and recurrent efforts are needed.

If we keep hindering natural Mechanism of Inflammation and if we keep suppressing useful symptoms and Acute Diseases by harmful drastic allopathic medicines then organism is forced to retreat. Chronic Diseases set in and the general state of Illness increases while the state of general Health declines. Illness has moved into deeper levels and cure becomes more difficult and less possible.

56 2.11 Allopathic Treatment: at what level of Etiological Chain of Illness does it act? It’s now time to examine each and every Therapeutic System in order to see at what level of Etiological Chain of Disease they act. The same question must be asked about the various methods of practicing Homeopathy.

As previously mentioned, all non drastic allopathic chemical medicines that suppress useful symptoms in a rather mild manner hinder therapeutic and cleaning mechanisms of the organism. They may relief promptly the patient yet, they contribute towards a more intoxicated and exhausted patient. Moreover, they create a predisposition for future recurrent Acute Diseases or Chronic Diseases.

When it comes to all drastic or immunosuppressive allopathic medicines, things get more serious. Not only they suppress symptoms, they also suppress Illness in general. They push Illness into deeper levels; into deeper organs and organic systems; into organs and systems that are more crucial and important for organism and life. In the end, they even might push Illness from Physical Level to Psychic Level.

The greater the suppressive action of an allopathic drug the severer the consequences on the organism. If I suppress an isolated useful symptom by limited interference at a certain biochemical procedure this is less harmful than suppressing a mechanism of pathogenesis. If I suppress a part of Immune System is definitely less harmful than suppressing Immune System as a whole. If I suppress Illness in general this is much more harmless compared to suppressing a local Disease. Finally, if I suppress Psychic Level then things are more severe than suppressing Physical Level. All the above are in accordance to Law of Hierarchy.

57 Very often, nowadays, Allopathic Treatment is focused on suppression of biochemical findings. For example, treating High Blood Pressure by antihypertension drugs or hypercholesteremia by anticholesteremic drugs or hyperuricemia by anti-uricemia drugs is merely suppression of biochemical findings. Bottom line, in Allopathy, we “treat” abnormal biochemical findings, abnormal lab tests, instead of Illness or instead of Morbific Factors that lead to Illness. Causes or Morbific Factors remain untouched and working and so is Illness and that is the reason why the patient is ordered to take such medicines for years or even for life endangered with severe side-effects.

The above treatments in regard to Etiological Chain of Illness, act on Physical Body only and especially on biochemical pathogenesis. This isolated action has poor misleading results and plenty of side effects. Nevertheless, quite often is the ideal “treatment” when it comes to profits for pharmaceutical companies since you can treat a patient for years or for life giving the patient the false idea that he is indeed controlling his “disease” each time his cholesterol or uric acid seems to be “normal”.

There’s another kind of Allopathic Treatment: Substitutional Treatment. For example, in Osteoporosis, where the patient is lacking calcium in his bones we administer orally calcium pills. Yet the problem in Osteoporosis isn’t the lack of calcium in food that enters the patient’s body. The real problem is that the patient’s organism can’t absorb it from food or can’t metabolize it and distribute it where needed.

If Osteoporosis was due to lack of enough calcium in consumed food then, nowadays, no woman would suffer from this disease since all women of some age, out of fear of Osteoporosis, consume large quantities of milk and dairy products. Moreover, if an organism can’t metabolize calcium and you keep loading him with excess of calcium then you create even greater problems exhausting his excretory organs (kidneys, liver, etc.) and promoting calcium depositions in many tissues.

58 Another example of Substitutional Treatment is administration of insulin in diabetic patients, thyroid hormones in hypothyroidism and estrogens in menopause. If disorder is non-reversible like for example, in some cases of Juvenile Diabetes this practice is justified. Yet, in many cases of hypothyroidism we can cure by treating the causes and not by substituting. In the case of menopause due to age we shouldn’t cause a hemorrhage by excessive estrogens and think that this is beneficial for an organism that no longer needs to have a menstrual cycle.

In all the above cases of administering hormones, many side effects arise from the fact that we can’t imitate precisely the hormone molecule. Furthermore, we aren’t able to give to each patient precisely the dosage needed every time. In addition, the rate of secretion of any hormone obeys to a certain 24 hours cycle, to a monthly cycle, to a seasonal cycle, etc. This is not in accordance with our technique of administering the same dosage each day/month/season at a certain fixed hour.

Surgical Operations and Organ Transplantations, although many times save lives, nevertheless, cannot in any way be considered as cure of Illness. They simply extract or replace an organ that has been so damaged that it can’t function any more. Surgical Operations should be applied only when any other existing treatment (Allopathic and Holistic) has failed and there’s danger for the life of the patient or severe impending implications.

Yet, quite often from my experience, it’s only the allopathic pharmaceutical treatment that has failed. Unfortunately, predominant Medical Health System ignores or refuses to accept any other medical treatment that could prevent a surgical operation. In addition, many surgical operations carried out are done for non medical reasons; anyone living on planet Earth knows very well what I am implying by that. We shouldn’t also forget to mention the many and severe complications or deaths that are caused by the procedure of surgical operation.

59 A detailed and full of examples analysis of wrong techniques and side effects of Allopathic Treatment is laid down in the two volumes of my book “A Thousand and One Medical Delusions”.

2.12 Other Treatments: at what level of Etiological Chain of Illness do they act? What about treatments other than dominant allopathic ones? At what level/levels of Etiological Chain of Illness do they act? Let’s take for instance Naturopathy. It applies, as therapeutic means, all kinds of natural agents for relief of symptoms like hot drinks, hot baths, sun, rest, sleep, physical relaxation, massage, fresh air, a walk in the country, healthy food, etc. All the above natural means can offer a direct local relief or an indirect general relief through the general elevation of the patient’s general state of Health. Most natural means act on Physical Level or on Etheric Level and some on Psychic Level.

Most herbs act on Physical Level by promoting naturally existing cleaning and detoxifying biochemical mechanisms. For example, they promote urination, perspiration, excretions, secretions, etc. Some herbs, if used in crude form, still possess etheric energy and may benefit Etheric Level of the patient. However, not all herbs act through such natural and beneficial procedures. Some may seem to act beneficially but in reality they poison the organism forcing him to mobilize inflammation or other cleaning mechanisms.

For example, poisoning by honey-bee stings seems to benefit chronic arthritis or scorpion poison seems to benefit cancer patients. Yet, this is a temporary effect due to the fact that when the organism faces a nonnatural “pharmaceutical” poisoning, an artificial Acute Illness, he is forced to mobilize acute defense mechanisms like for example inflammation. This procedure temporarily occupies the attention of the organism at a more superficial level and in the presence of Acute Illness symptoms of Chronic Illness subside. Yet, this is a temporary change and

60 soon after that, things get back to previous state of Chronic Illness leaving behind a more tired and organism.

All Vitamins, Food Supplements and “Super Foods” act like herbs mostly on Physical Level and especially at biochemical level. They may eliminate lack of elements or they may promote cleaning and detoxifying mechanisms of the body through their antioxidant properties. Yet, as the saying point’s out “It’s the dosage that turns any medicine into poison!” Even though above means and herbs usually act in a mild and natural way, if they are given too often and in large dosages they may cause side effects; milder than chemical drugs, yet considerable ones.

Yoga, Osteopathy, Chiropractice and Shiatsu act simultaneously directly at Physical and Etheric Level. Through the latter they also affect beneficially Hormonal System, Nervous System and Psychic Level.

Homeopathy and Acupuncture are both purely Energy Methods of Treatment because they act directly on Etheric Level by means of energy homeopathic medicines (Homeopathy) and by handling the energy flow by needles (Acupuncture). Through this Etheric Level they have the ability to balance both Psychic Level upwards and Physical Level downwards, that is, the organism as a whole. That’s the reason why it is fair to say that both of them are Holistic Therapeutic Systems. Degree, depth, scale and duration of therapeutic results depend on method of application and on skill of the physician.

For instance, if Acupuncture is applied in a disease-oriented way – “back pain, put needles at x, y, z acupuncture points, same for all patients” – then the outcome will be mere temporary relief of symptoms of Acute Illness at Physical and Etheric Level. On the contrary, if it’s applied in a holistic way according to Theory of Five Elements and Theory of YinYang and in an individualized way, then it can affect beneficially in a

61 deeper way not only the whole (including Psychic Level also) but even Chronic Predispositions of the individual.

2.13 Homeopathy: at what levels of Etiological Chain of Illness does it act? What about Homeopathy? At what level/levels of Etiological Chain of Illness does it act? Furthermore, each method of application of Homeopathy (Disease-Oriented, Complex, Repertorising, Key-Note Prescribing, Computer Expert Systems, Sensation-Oriented, Classical Homeopathy and Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Homeopathy) at what levels, does it act? Isn’t that, indeed, one of the main interests of this book?

Nevertheless, in order to achieve this goal at a satisfying degree, first, we have to examine crucial concepts like “Basic/Chronic Idiosyncrasies” and “Provings that don’t correspond to Naturally Existing Idiosyncrasies”. In addition, we must get acquainted with basic principles of every method of application of Homeopathy. This can only be done in chapters that follow. Consequently, comparison of several “homeopathic” methods of diagnosis and treatment will be done at the last chapter of this book.

CHAPTER 3

TYPES OF MATERIA MEDICA AND TYPES OF IDIOSYNCRASIES

3.1 Evolution of Homeopathic Materia Medica 3.2 Recording, Comparative and Clinical Materia Medica 3.3 The discovery of the concept/state of “Idiosyncrasy” 3.4 Differentiation between states like Crude Substance, Proving Picture, Similar Idiosyncratic Picture and Similar Homeopathic Remedy 3.5 Natural Law of Transformation of Quantity to Quality 3.6 Idiosyncrasies and Law of Transformation of Quantity into Quality 3.7 Chronic Idiosyncrasies, Acute Idiosyncrasies and Proving Pictures that don’t correspond to Naturally Existing Idiosyncrasies 3.8 Idiosyncratic Homeopathic Materia Medica

63 3.1 Evolution of Homeopathic Materia Medica For any patient and moreover, for any doctor that turns to Homeopathy three crucial questions arise: 1. Why are there so many “Schools” in Homeopathy? 2. Which is the right one? 3. How can I judge what kind of Homeopathy a doctor applies?

The best way to answer the above questions is to examine evolution of Homeopathy and evolution of several “Schools” of Homeopathy in regard both to diagnosis and treatment.

The story of Homeopathy begins with adoption by Hahnemann of the scientific experimentation of “Provings”, i.e. proving of pharmacological properties of several mineral, plant and animal substances on healthy human beings. From this experimentation arose a huge amount of data recorded and classified in various ways in books of Homeopathic Pharmacology called “Homeopathic Materia Medica”. The latter were enriched by clinical data and evolved in various different kinds.

An offspring of Materia Medica are “Repertories”, i.e. books based not on idiosyncrasies but on isolated symptoms. The latter are but Homeopathic Dictionaries of Symptoms. Nowadays, we also have the electronic form of these Dictionaries.

Gradually, as years went by, several homeopathic doctors, applying rightly or wrongly homeopathic laws, developed several methods of diagnosis and treatment that are practiced up to now. The most widespread methods are Symptomatic Diagnosis, Disease-Oriented Diagnosis, Repertorising (diagnosis based on Repertories), Key-Note Prescribing (diagnosis based on Key-symptoms), Computer Expert Systems, Sensation Diagnosis (diagnosis based on the vital sensation of

64 the patient), Miasmatic Diagnosis, etc. The last two decades I have developed and practice a new method of diagnosis that I have termed Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Diagnosis.

There are two critical factors in any method of “homeopathic” diagnosis. The first factor is the kind of Homeopathic Materia Medica that the method is based on. The second factor is the laws of diagnosis and treatment that it applies. More important are laws, since many different methods are based on the same data (Materia Medica), yet, employ different laws and end up in different results. For example, Symptomatic Diagnosis, Repertorising and Key-Note Prescribing use the same Materia Medica, nevertheless, are different methods with different outcome.

In order to support my opinion on the crucial importance of laws let me give you an analogy. If we use a basket ball to play football, then, it’s obvious that what we play can only be called football and not basketball. The crucial factor isn’t the means that we use but the laws of the game.

Accordingly, we may use the same Materia Medica, let’s say Kent’s Materia Medica, yet laws that govern our prescription may differ widely. For example, one doctor is based only on physical symptoms while another one is based on disease and a third one is based on the individual as a whole and mainly from the point of view of the patient’s idiosyncrasy. The outcome will be different diagnosis and different treatment. Even if all homeopathic doctors, pretty much, use the same homeopathic remedies, if the method of selection of the remedy is different, then the treatment is different.

3.2 Recording, Comparative and Clinical Materia Medica Let’s now examine the advancement of Homeopathic Materia Medica. The first Materia Medica were merely Recording Materia Medica since they simply registered all symptoms that appeared during Provings. In

65 addition, for each symptom there were data about its onset, duration, intensity, locality and periodicity.

Furthermore, a grading of symptoms into three or four grades was done according to its intensity and frequency among the participants of the Proving. There was, also, a classification of symptoms according to the organic system that it belonged, for example, Skin, Respiratory System, Urinary System, etc.

As more and more Provings were conducted by different doctors around the globe for the same substances there emerged a need for a Comparative Materia Medica. Results of different experiments could be compared and a better evaluation of grading of symptoms was achieved. In addition, new symptoms were traced giving a wider and more detailed picture of the pharmacological properties of the substance on healthy human beings.

The next step was Clinical Materia Medica. Every time a certain homeopathic medicine prepared from the homonymous substance used in Provings was prescribed and cured successfully those symptoms revealed at Provings this was a reconfirmation that the latter symptom was characteristic of the proved substance.

Confirmation was not done only for isolated symptoms like for instance “burning renal pain extending to urine bladder”. It was also carried out for a combination of symptoms that could be considered as a local disease, for example “kidney colic with burning pain, frequent urination, bloody urine, fever, restlessness and irritability”.

Moreover, clinical practice revealed data that could not have been observed during Provings because of the short duration of the latter that did not permit pathology to take place. Histological and anatomical

66 findings as well as diseases were related as happening more frequently to patients that had been prescribed with a certain homeopathic remedy. For example, certain individuals prescribed by X homeopathic remedy had a predisposition for warts or diabetes and seemed to have a tendency for the development of a specific body type, etc.

Clinical Practice also revealed that certain substances-homeopathic remedies were prescribed more frequently than others and their clinical picture was very broad engaging all organic systems plus Psychic Level (Mind) with numerous symptoms. There seemed to be not only characteristic symptoms during Acute Illness but also specific characteristics during the state of Chronic Illness/State of Clinical Health.

3.3 The discovery of the concept/state of “Idiosyncrasy” The above facts gradually let to the discovery of the concept/state of “Idiosyncrasy”. There seemed to be some etheric disorders, independently of individuals, that during an Acute Illness tend to cause the same physical and psychological symptoms. Furthermore, these etheric disorders tend to cause during a Chronic Illness the same characteristics either physical or psychological.

These symptoms and characteristics were indicative of a certain external state of “Idiosyncrasy” that influenced human beings at a specific way, so these symptoms and characteristics could be called “idiosyncratic symptoms” and “idiosyncratic characteristics”.

For instance, any human being under the influence of Idiosyncrasy “Lycopodium” during an Acute Illness tends to present diseases and symptoms mostly from Peptic System and especially from stomach. Furthermore, gastritis of Lycopodium Idiosyncrasy and accordingly gastritis of a Lycopodium Individual (an individual under the influence of

67 Lycopodium Idiosyncrasy) tends to have certain specific modalities, i.e. stomach pain of X type, retching of X type, more often during specific time of the day or night, ameliorated by this and that conditions, aggravated by this and that conditions, etc.

If any Idiosyncrasy had been influencing any person for a long time, then during the State of Health/Chronic Illness, this certain individual, for example Lycopodium individual, had the tendency to develop certain chronic idiosyncratic characteristics: eats hastily, dyspepsia if he eats late at night, specific body type, sexual behavior characterized by lust, etc.

Idiosyncrasy, if permitted to act for a considerable amount of time, seemed to affect all aspects of life of the person that it seized: physical symptoms/characteristics, psychological symptoms/characteristics, body type, sexual behavior, professional attitude, ambitions, ideas, ideology, beliefs, emotions, habits, predispositions, etc.

These observations gave birth to Idiosyncratic Materia Medica. The first attempt for such a Materia Medica was done by a great homeopathic professor, Dr James Tyler Kent. However, Kent managed to give an incomplete idiosyncratic picture only for a few homeopathic remedies like for example Sulphur, Natrum Muriaticum, Ignatia, Argentum Nitricum, etc.

3.4 Differentiation between states like Crude Substance, Proving Picture, Similar Idiosyncratic Picture and Similar Homeopathic Remedy At this point, it’s crucial to differentiate between states that have confused in the past and keep confusing at present not only patients but even many homeopathic doctors.

68 Take for example the plant Valerian that has been used as Crude Substance during the Proving of the plant Valerian. From this experimentation on healthy human beings arose data that when put together create into our minds the pathological Proving Picture of Valerian, saved down on paper in our Materia Medica. This Proving Picture of the Crude Substance of Valerian is similar to the Idiosyncratic Picture of Valerian developed on a person under the etheric influence of homonymous Idiosyncrasy that exists outside and beyond that individual and beyond Man as an entity. In order to get over this etheric imbalance, the homeopathic doctor prescribes the energy Homeopathic Remedy Valerian that is similar to the Idiosyncratic Picture of Valerian. We have already described four states/concepts that, although bear the same name of Valerian, are different!

It’s extremely important to realize that Idiosyncrasies are external etheric entities that can influence any person and produce specific pathological formations of his Etheric Body. In turn, this disorder of our Etheric Body influences in a specific idiosyncratic way our Physical Level and our Lower Psychic Level.

If these etheric influences act for long enough they can alter not only the person’s physiology but also his anatomy (anatomic findings and body type) and create Chronic Predispositions for Illness or specific Diseases. In addition, they tend to establish a specific personality, a certain kind of thinking and attitude towards life, i.e. a specific External Self.

Since Idiosyncrasies are but external etheric influences its crucial to differentiate Man from Idiosyncrasies; any individual from the idiosyncrasies that tend to influence him at times. Idiosyncrasies don’t affect Conscience Psyche and Individual Spirit at all. Idiosyncrasies partly affect Physical Body, Etheric Body and Lower Psyche (Sensual Psyche and Intellectual Psyche).

69 Any person has his Internal Self, his balanced self. External Self is but the “contaminated”, unbalanced self. Idiosyncratic influence is an external etheric disordering factor existing independently from any person although it can affect him greatly.

Idiosyncrasies are the “carriers” of Delusion as a general phenomenon; together with Miasms they are the mechanisms through which Karma/Destiny affects any man in his earthly life. Idiosyncrasies and Miasms are the main cause of human delusion causing Illness on physical, etheric and psychic level and on human society as a whole. Homeopathic Remedies, in reality act as “antidotes” to the influence of Idiosyncrasies/Miasms on any human being.

In the same way that we shouldn’t identify Man with his physical or psychological disease or illness, in the same way we shouldn’t identify any individual with the, each time idiosyncrasy/miasm that affects him. An individual isn’t his colitis or his depression. Accordingly, an individual isn’t Valerian or Lycopodium or Psoric Miasm.

In conclusion, apart from the plant Valerian, the Proving Picture of the plant Valerian to healthy people and the etheric Idiosyncrasy Valerian there’s also the etheric Homeopathic Remedy Valerian. The latter neutralizes/antidotes the disordering influence of Idiosyncrasy Valerian to the suffering person. Any confusion between the above arises mainly due to the use of the same word (the name of the mineral/plant/animal product) for all four different states/concepts.

It’s very important, always to bear in mind that the first state corresponds to the mineral/plant/animal product, the second to a clinical picture (sum of physical and psychological symptoms and characteristics), the third to a negative external disordering etheric influence on the patient’s Etheric Body and the fourth to a positive, healing, balancing pharmaceutical influence on the same Etheric Body.

3.5 Natural Law of Transformation of Quantity to Quality Defining Idiosyncrasy as clearly as possible is of critical value to homeopathic diagnosis and treatment; it will enable us to practice true Homeopathy, i.e. Idiosyncratic Homeopathy.

We know from Physics that the wavelength of electromagnetic energy determines the form of energy. In other words, several forms of electromagnetic energy appear at specific areas of wavelength at the electromagnetic spectrum. For example, while electromagnetic spectrum has a continuous numeric linear shape, nevertheless, specific forms of electromagnetic energy like a, b, γ, X, infrared, visible, ultraviolet, etc, exist only at specific areas of spectrum. The same phenomenon is true for the spectrum of sound energy in regard to ultrasounds, subsonic, audible sounds, etc.

This is also true at the Material World. For example, the combination of protons and neutrons in the nucleus of an atom doesn’t result to a continuous spectrum of Elements in the Periodic Table of Elements. Another well known example is the state of water according to its temperature. Although there’s a continuous spectrum of temperatures, water suddenly becomes solid ice below zero degrees Centigrade and gas over 100 degrees Centigrade. There’s a visible transformation of quantity into quality.

Another example is the fact that not all combinations of the elements of the Periodic Table can take place and give a chemical compound. The same is also true for the combination of the basic parts of DNA. Not all forms of DNA correspond to living organisms with a specific identity. In the Psychic Level of a human being differences between indisposition, melancholy, depression and catatonia isn’t only a matter of quantity; there’s a qualitative change also present. The same is true for agitation,

71 nervousness, irritability and mania. All the above obey to the Natural Law of Transformation of Quantity into Quality.

3.6 Idiosyncrasies and Law of Transformation of Quantity into Quality Since Idiosyncrasies aren’t but etheric influences they have to obey to this Law of Transformation of Quantity into Quality. Naturally existing Idiosyncrasies appear at certain areas of the “spectrum” of Idiosyncrasies. Only then, they acquire a distinct, specific influence on Etheric Body of Man and consequently specific symptoms and characteristics from Physical and Psychic Level.

In fact, Hahnemann, through Provings, discovered a method of tracing these several Idiosyncrasies through the clinical picture they produce at Physical and Psychic Level. He strongly supported that Illness is primarily an energy disorder, yet due to the fact that this disorder could not be traced directly, he insisted that it was through symptoms that one could classify different kinds of Illness of the Human Race.

If you believe that Illness is an energy disorder, then it’s profound that you must employ energy means of treatment. That’s why Hahnemann employed the procedure of Potentization in order to prepare energy homeopathic medicines that could neutralize/antidote negative action of Idiosyncrasies/Illness.

After many years of Provings, homeopathic doctors realized that some substances affected healthy people deeply and widely while others only superficially and partially. Accordingly, some homeopathic medicines proved to be indicated very often and moreover were deep and long acting while other were indicated rarely and were short acting.

72 Some doctors and researchers believed that, time given and after continuous proving of the same substances, we could reveal the full spectrum of action of any substance that would involve all organic systems and all areas of the Psychic Level. However, time, experimentation and clinical practice confirmed the fact that only few substances presented a wide Proving Picture that included a specific psychological picture and only few homeopathic medicines were indeed “polychrest” and at the same time deep and long acting.

Even nowadays, many homeopathic doctors believe that by proving more and more mineral, plant and animal substances, we will be able to complete the full spectrum of Clinical Pictures of Illness. The immediate next step is to prepare the full spectrum of homeopathic remedies in order to cure all diseases, the full spectrum of Illness, the full spectrum of Human Pathology. These doctors proceeded also in Provings of chemical substances, allopathic medicines like antibiotics or cortisone, products of all kinds of diseases, for example cancer, etc. Is this in accordance with the Law of Similarity? We will answer this question shortly.

3.7 Chronic Idiosyncrasies, Acute Idiosyncrasies and Proving Pictures that don’t correspond to Naturally Existing Idiosyncrasies Only few chemical compounds from the numerous ones existing are found in abundance in our natural environment. Only few elements of the Periodic Table of Elements exist in abundance in Nature. In fact, the majority of the Elements are not only rare but also unstable or existing under specific “laboratory” conditions.

Accordingly, despite the billions of different people on Earth, only few disorders of Human Etheric Body exist as different and separate entities which are produced by only few naturally existing Idiosyncrasies. That’s the reason why only few of the thousands of Proving Pictures correspond to naturally existing forms of Illness/Clinical Pictures and consequently to Naturally Existing Human Idiosyncrasies.

73

The few decades of Idiosyncrasies that correspond to naturally existing forms of Chronic Illness, I call Chronic Idiosyncrasies or Basic Idiosyncrasies. The few hundreds of Idiosyncrasies that correspond to naturally existing forms of Acute Illness, I call Acute Idiosyncrasies or Circumstantial Idiosyncrasies or Temporary Idiosyncrasies.

All Chronic Idiosyncrasies can also be found as Acute Idiosyncrasies while all Acute Idiosyncrasies cannot be Chronic, i.e. they don’t correspond to any Chronic Clinical Picture during the Stage of Clinical Health/Chronic Illness. For example Nux Vomica, Natrum Muriaticum, Phosphor, etc, are mainly Chronic Idiosyncrasies that can also be found as Acute Idiosyncrasies, while Cantharis or Kreosotum can only be considered as Acute Idiosyncrasies.

The thousands of Proving Pictures that don’t correspond to naturally existing Acute or Chronic Illness/naturally existing Idiosyncrasies, I call Toxicology Pictures or Poisoning Pictures or Artificial Laboratory Pictures or Artificial Illness. The substances used for the latter, even if they are potentized cannot be considered as homeopathic remedies since they have no similarity to naturally existing Illness!

When you deal with life you must differentiate between naturally existing phenomena and artificially created/laboratory phenomena. As discussed previously, most phenomena of Material and Lower Energy World are found in discrete forms and so are etheric phenomena of life. Etheric abnormalities/Illness tends to appear in specific forms because Idiosyncrasies tend to appear in specific forms. Consequently, only few potentized substances can be considered as homeo-pathic remedies, i.e. similar to the above specific forms of Illness.

74 This fact doesn’t make Homeopathy less effective. Quality over Quantity! My clinical practice taught me that Chronic Idiosyncrasies that affect the whole spectrum of human disorder are around 50 and these Idiosyncrasies are treated by deep and long acting, polychrest, corresponding, Chronic Homeopathic Remedies of equal number. Accordingly, Acute Idiosyncrasies that correspond to Acute Illnesses aren’t more than a few hundreds. These Idiosyncrasies are treated by corresponding Acute Homeopathic Remedies of equal number.

It’s an amazing thing to discover that these 50 Chronic Homeopathic Remedies and these 200-300 Acute Homeopathic Remedies, if applied according to Law of Similarity can treat effectively all patients suffering from Chronic Illness or Acute Illness. Again, quality surpasses quantity and this is in accordance to Natural Law of Transformation of Quantity into Quality.

If you don’t follow Universal and Natural Laws you end up in various, popular delusions like for example “I am trying to find that rare homeopathic medicine that suits the case” or “I am trying to find the combination of homeopathic remedies that suits the case”.

Those bulgy “Homeopathic” Materia Medica and Repertories or Computer Expert Systems that include thousands and thousands of Proving Pictures that don’t correspond to naturally existing Idiosyncrasies can only bring confusion and chaos to the mind of the doctor and to his clinical practice. Once again I quote from Kent: “There are no authorities (experts) in Science; only Laws!”

3.8 Idiosyncratic Homeopathic Materia Medica I believe that by now it’s clear what I mean when I say “Idiosyncratic Homeopathic Materia Medica”. Even Kent, the great master of Homeopathy, despite his monumental Materia Medica (180 homeopathic

75 medicines, a thousand pages) managed to give a satisfying idiosyncratic picture only for 5-10 Chronic Idiosyncrasies/Remedies (Sulphur, Arsenicum, Pulsatilla, Argentum Nitricum, Natrum Muriaticum).

And when I say “satisfying idiosyncratic picture” I mean the identification of the “essence”, “main idea”, “core”, “differentia”, “central point”, “heart and soul” of the specific idiosyncrasy. The essence of any idiosyncrasy is but “the thread of Ariadne” that will enable any homeopathic doctor not to be trapped in the labyrinth/maze of the numerous, seemingly isolated and irrelevant, symptoms and characteristics.

Kent is quite honest when in his Materia Medica often says that “this substance/medicine is partially proven” and so “we don’t have yet a clear picture of its full action”. In such cases, he merely lists isolated symptoms from Recording Materia Medica of Herring.

To add to the confusion, such lists of isolated symptoms included to most Materia Medica – not to say to all – come from all four stages of human pathology. In fact, most symptoms belong to stage C and D, some to stage B and only few to stage A. As analyzed in previous books, stage A corresponds to state of Clinical Health/Chronic Illness so it’s better to talk about characteristics and not about symptoms. Stage B corresponds to early, light symptoms that have to do with biochemical and physiological disorder. Stage C includes more severe symptoms that have to do with light pathology and advanced Illness. Finally, Stage D includes symptoms that arise from advanced pathology and corresponds to the stage of complete disorganization.

Symptoms belonging to stage D are almost of no value in regard to Idiosyncratic Diagnosis. The reason for this fact is that they belong to advanced pathology (physical and psychological) during which all

76 patients end up having, more or less, the same symptoms. They are not characteristic and specific; they don’t refer any more to the individual.

On the contrary, characteristics of stage A are the more valuable ones because they correspond to stage of Chronic Illness/stage of Clinical Health and are indicative of the person’s Chronic Idiosyncrasy and not of any Acute Idiosyncrasy during an Acute Illness. They are indicative of the individual and they are characteristic and specific. It would not be wrong to say that they correspond to Idiosyncratic Characteristics.

I certainly don’t have any intention to depreciate Kent’s contribution to Homeopathy. I must confess that I, myself, like many homeopathic doctors that practice what is known as Classical Homeopathy, owe a great deal to Kent’s work. Nevertheless, the whole point is to make more steps forward following his example and his valuable saying: “There are no authorities in Science/Medicine; only Laws!”

Kent’s contribution to Homeopathy can also be considered valuable in another area. He managed to trace and identify specific routes of pathogenesis that lay behind seemingly unrelated and isolated symptoms of the same or of different organic systems. For instance, on describing symptoms of Calcarea Carbonica he identified pathogenesis of Calcium metabolism; on describing Natrum Muriaticum he identified pathogenesis of Sodium Chloride.

If we examine Kent’s Materia Medica we will find coexisting, characteristics of a Recording, Comparative, Clinical and Pathogenetic Materia Medica and for the first time in the story of Homeopathy, elements of Idiosyncratic Materia Medica. The latter is due to his long clinical experience and to his focus on characteristics of Stage A, the Stage of Clinical Health/Chronic Illness. He could see the person behind the patient; the individual behind the pathology; the “healthy” every day man instead of the patient.

77

Kent’s Materia Medica is also valuable for another reason. It includes the first effort for a more advanced – compared to Hahnemann – miasmatic analysis of some Idiosyncrasies/Remedies. Yet, most of the times this is partial and does not run through both physical and psychic level. It mostly refers to pathology than to the manner of thinking and acting of the person during Chronic Illness/Every Day Life.

I believe that only a Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Materia Medica can describe in the best possible way the essence of Chronic Idiosyncrasies and offer to any homeopathic doctor thriving therapeutic results. Perhaps, from my knowledge, the first effort done towards this direction is my Materia Medica. The latter is the product of many years of clinical practice under the inspiration of Universal Laws and Holistic Thinking/Philosophy. However, in order to analyze thoroughly what Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Diagnosis and Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Homeopathy are, we are going to need at least a whole chapter; the one to follow.

CHAPTER 4

MIASMATIC IDIOSYNCRATIC HOMEOPATHY

4.1 Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Materia Medica 4.2 Innovations introduced by Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Materia Medica 4.3 Idiosyncratic Diagnosis with the aid of Miasmatic Psychological Profile 4.4 Idiosyncratic Diagnosis with the aid of Miasms in regard to symptoms and Diseases 4.5 Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Case Taking 4.6 Application of Homeopathic and Universal Laws in clinical practice 4.7 The Homeopathic Doctor-“Photographic Camera”! 4.8 The biographical “movie” of the patient’s life

79 4.1 Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Materia Medica After many years of clinical practice and application of Universal Laws and Holistic Philosophy in the area of Medicine/Homeopathy I gradually established what I like to call Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Homeopathy. This is founded on three interconnected pillars.

The first pillar is Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Materia Medica. It focuses on miasmatic and idiosyncratic essence of Chronic Idiosyncrasies that correspond to naturally existing Chronic Illness. This essence is focused primarily on the psychological profile of the person – and not the patient – when in the State of Clinical Health/Chronic Illness.

The essence of any Chronic Idiosyncrasy refers: a. primarily, to miasmatic and characteristics of Chronic Illness

psychological

idiosyncratic

b. secondarily, to general physical characteristics of Chronic Illness and c. thirdly, to psychological and general physical characteristics of Acute Illness The last one, although referring to Acute Illness can be of value since Chronic Idiosyncrasies can also be Acute Idiosyncrasies having the same essence and specific characteristics of the chronic picture running also through the acute picture.

In this way, any homeopathic doctor while reading the description of Chronic Idiosyncrasies, acquires the core of the picture without the numerous, less important, localized physical symptoms that cannot be memorized and in addition will confuse him. The outcome is to focus on

80 Chronic Idiosyncrasies/Chronic Illness rather than focus on Acute Idiosyncrasies/Acute Illness.

4.2 Innovations introduced by Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Materia Medica Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Materia Medica also includes very important Non-Verbal Information that are characteristic of the person’s idiosyncrasy and miasms.

Another very important innovation of Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Materia Medica is the definition of Stages of Illness in which characteristics and symptoms are classified. The description of Idiosyncrasies refers primarily to Stage A and B and secondarily to Stage C only if there’s any diagnostic value. For example, Phosphor is described mainly on Stage B (fears about health, neurovegetative stage), nevertheless, Stage A (no fears but still he has an extra concern about his health) is also mentioned as well as Stage C (withdrawal, introvert, not so many fears).

In addition, versions of the same Idiosyncrasy due to age (child, old age) or gender (male, female) or profession and cultural level are also mentioned where there’s a diagnostic interest.

Another innovation is the description of versions of the same Idiosyncrasy according to prevailing miasm. For instance, how is a psoric Sulphur and how a sycotic Sulphur or the differences between psoric, sycotic and syphilitic Lachesis.

A very important innovation, a crucial one nowadays due to the dominance of syphilitic idiosyncrasies, is differentiation between Primary Behavior and Secondary Behavior. Syphilitic Idiosyncrasies, more than others, tend to adopt Secondary Behaviors that vary a lot and may even

81 seem contrary. For example, you can prescribe Lachesis for a syphilitic woman that adopts Secondary Behavior of “the poor, sensitive victim” and for a syphilitic woman that adopts Secondary Behavior of “the strict, mean, dominant mother/wife/boss/principal”.

Psoric and Sycotic Idiosyncrasies also tend to adopt Secondary Behaviors that have the psoric and sycotic tint accordingly while Syphilitic Idiosyncrasies adopt Secondary Behaviors that may seem to have all three miasmatic tints! In our previous example of syphilitic Lachesis the “poor sensitive victim” role is the seemingly psoric role while the “strict, mean, dominant mother” is the syphilitic role.

4.3 Idiosyncratic Diagnosis with the aid of Miasmatic Psychological Profile Perhaps, the most important and innovating characteristic of Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Materia Medica, is the full use of miasmatic tool in approaching any person as a whole, both on physical and psychic level in order to reach an idiosyncratic diagnosis.

How is this done? The first step is to diagnose if our patient is predominantly psoric, sycotic or syphilitic. And I say “predominantly” because all three miasms affect all people, yet, at a different degree each one; you see, there are no clearly cut or “pure” cases in life at any level because of the unity of things and states according to Universal Law of Unity/Diversion.

In respect to Universal Law of Hierarchy, when earlier we examined Idiosyncratic Diagnosis, we focused on psychological and general characteristics. Accordingly, when we proceed to Miasmatic Diagnosis we also focus on psychological and general characteristics.

82 When we question the patient about his psychological characteristics we should be very careful. Quite often, there’s a great gap between theory and practice, between declarations and actions. This is true of all people and even truer when it comes to syphilitic people that are the majority nowadays, in the syphilitic era that we live in. We must find out if there’s a difference between theory and practice and what are the real, primary intensions of the person in study.

For instance, quite often Lachesis and Valerian subjects say that they aren’t jealous although their husbands or boyfriends swear about the opposite! Or you may often see a Lachesis woman who publicly declares a religious, moral and good person while in everyday life she makes her husband’s/children life a hell with her dominant behavior.

A great help for Miasmatic Diagnosis, is the detailed description of the psychological profile of the psoric, sycotic and syphilitic individual done in my book “Homeopathic Medicine and the Theory of Miasms”.

4.4 Idiosyncratic Diagnosis with the aid of Miasms in regard to symptoms and Diseases Not only miasmatic psychological profile of a person at the Stage of Clinical Health/Chronic Illness can be of use to homeopathic doctor as idiosyncratic diagnosis is concerned. Physical symptoms during Acute Illness and his history of diseases can also be of help at a minor degree, of course. We can define if the majority of symptoms and diseases of the patient are dominantly of psoric, sycotic or syphilitic tint and thus, indirectly, determine the dominant miasm of the patient. Then if we decide for instance that he is syphilitic, we focus on syphilitic idiosyncrasies in order to choose what to prescribe for our patient.

Let’s take the symptom “constipation” for example. Psoric constipation is the one that the person lacks the tendency to go to the toilet due to

83 hypofunction and decreased motility of his large intestine. The outcome is usually dry and hard stool and consequently difficult defecation.

The corresponding sycotic state would rather be diarrhea, yet, there’s also a kind of constipation with sycotic characteristics. It would consist of a difficulty in defecation due to a sudden yet temporary spasm of intestines. The patient would feel urgent tendency to stool, would run to the toilet, yet there would be a sudden spasm and then after the pain ceases defecation would be sudden, copious and full of sounds and gases.

Syphilitic constipation is expected to be of twisted, perverted character. You may have a patient that has frequent, alternating constipation and diarrhea with strange and incoherent symptoms with tissue damage and adverse reactions.

Every symptom is characterized by a specific miasmatic tint. Not all symptoms of a certain patient are of the same miasmatic tint because your patient isn’t purely psoric, sycotic or syphilitic. Consequently, it’s wrong to decide about the miasmatic personality of your patient from one or some symptoms. You have to take in consideration the whole picture and more over you have to take in consideration the hierarchical position of each data as well as the course of Illness.

Psoric course of Illness or psoric course of a disease is the slow and mild onset, slow and mild exacerbations and mild pathology. On the contrary, sycotic course of Illness is the sudden and intense onset and sudden and intense exacerbations with hypertrophic anatomical findings. Syphilitic course is the irregular, non typical, strange and destructive course.

In every day clinical practice, as in everyday life there are no clear states and images as previously mentioned. If the person/patient doesn’t project a clear image we shouldn’t waste energy and time on determining his

84 dominant miasm. We should look for an idiosyncrasy that hasn’t got a clear, dominant miasm prevailing. Furthermore, we should bear in mind that there are several idiosyncrasies that have psoric, sycotic and syphilitic versions. There are also certain idiosyncrasies in which a certain miasm dominates on one area/level and another one dominates on a different area/level.

Phosphor, for example, is deeply psoric as to principles and morality, yet he is very sycotic as to expression and physical characteristics. Thuja is very psoric as to psychology, very psoric as to expression, yet, very sycotic as to physical symptoms. All these peculiarities and singularities are described in Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Materia Medica and must be taken in consideration.

4.5 Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Case Taking The second pillar on which Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Homeopathy is based on is Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Case Taking. It aims in employing in a hierarchical active way all information, verbal and non verbal in order to diagnose the miasmatic and idiosyncratic essence of the patient/person. The Case Taking starts even from the moment the patient calls to set an appointment.

It’s an active procedure with continuous interaction with the patient/person. Each answer or non verbal information or clue adds idiosyncrasies in the possible list of idiosyncrasies to be examined. Passive recording of clues, evaluation, clarifications, testing, cross examination of clues, general questioning and targeted questioning follow each other at a random order at the preliminary examination of the patient. Then at the phase of differential diagnosis, it’s time to verify and select the similar remedy.

85 That’s the reason why this active case taking usually lasts around 45 minutes only if done by an experienced homeopathic doctor. Take in consideration that the whole case taking includes greeting the patient, personal data recording, giving information to the patient about Homeopathy, a complete allopathic case taking, the special homeopathic case taking, writing the prescription and giving instructions about the treatment. In reality, what we call special homeopathic case taking lasts from 5 to 20 minutes.

A detailed analysis of Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Case Taking is done in the book “The Art and Science of Homeopathic Case Taking”.

4.6 Application of Homeopathic and Universal Laws in clinical practice The third pillar on which Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Homeopathy is founded is the application of Homeopathic Laws – originating from Universal Laws – in diagnosis of miasmatic and idiosyncratic essence/identity of the patient. This is also analyzed extensively in the book “The Art and Science of Homeopathic Case Taking” and in the volumes of the book “Homeopathic Clinical Cases”.

These same laws are also fully applied during treatment of the patient. They help the doctor in second prescription and follow up of the patient and during the whole procedure up to complete cure. All these are described in details in the book “Homeopathic Therapeutics”.

4.7 The Homeopathic Doctor-“Photographic Camera”! Think of these three pillars on which Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Homeopathy is founded as the three legs of a photographic tripod on which a camera is supported. These three foundations are of no practical use if not integrated with correct education and clinical practice in a united stand.

86

On top of the stand there’s the Photographic Camera/Individual Psyche of homeopathic doctor. It is the Camera-Individual Psyche of homeopathic doctor that receives all knowledge, all data and transforms them into experience and wisdom. The overall procedure is not restricted just to filing “dry” information in a mechanical brain. It has to do with the sensations of homeopathic doctor as well as with his heart and brain, that is, with his whole entity.

That’s the reason why a transformation takes place. Homeopathic doctor becomes more receptive, more sensitive, broad-minded, broad-hearted, more conscious of himself and others. He is turned into a moral and wise man. He has now become a reliable, precise and state of the art photographic camera that can take objective pictures of the abyss of the patient’s body and mind. In Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Homeopathy, the doctor is the measuring device of the patient’s body and soul and so he has to be precise and reliable machinery, calibrated according to Universal Laws.

Through the precise tool of Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Homeopathy, the doctor-photographic camera takes snapshots from his patient’s life. In the case of Acute Illness he takes snaps of the Acute Idiosyncrasies that disorder the man. Yet, this is the least that he is interest of. He goes further taking snapshots of the Chronic Idiosyncrasies that have been affecting the patient before Acute Illness emerged, that is, during the state of Chronic Illness-state of Clinical Health. Now it’s time, after Acute Illness has passed, to prescribe that homeopathic medicine which is similar to the last, recent Chronic Idiosyncrasy.

Yet, a lot more can be revealed and photographed. If doctor focuses on the background he will also take snapshots of the possible emerging Chronic Idiosyncrasies that are not as strong as the similar-to-the-present Chronic Idiosyncrasy but are the most possible ones to come out in the close future and for which he will possibly prescribe.

87

During case taking, also emerge snapshots of Chronic Idiosyncrasies that have troubled the patient in the past. These snapshots can vary from faint ones to crystal clear ones.

An experienced doctor-photographer will furthermore take snapshots of the patient’s recent miasmatic influences. Different snapshots from different aspects will reveal dominant miasm and the percentage of influence of the other two.

4.8 The biographical “movie” of the patient’s life All these snapshots, if lined up in a proper order, constitute the biographical movie of the patient’s life and the whole of the patient or more accurately the whole of the man-Individual Psyche. This movie passes as a trailer in front of the eyes of the experienced homeopathic doctor in just 45 minutes of Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Case Taking!

This amazing achievement becomes possible only if the doctor lets the knowledge and experience of Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Homeopathy to transform him from a materialistic scientist to an evolved morally and psychologically human being-unselfish therapist!

CHAPTER 5

CRITISISM OF OTHER METHODS OF “HOMEOPATHIC” DIAGNOSIS 5.1 What does “similarity” really means? 5.2 What we call “State of Clinical Health” in Allopathy is but the State of Chronic Illness in Homeopathy 5.3 Repertorising is wrong when it comes to Chronic Illness 5.4 Chronic Idiosyncrasies Idiosyncrasies in Acute Illness

5.5 Focus on the treatment of Chronic Illness by prescribing for Chronic Idiosyncrasies 5.6 Repertorising favors the selection of Acute Remedies 5.7 The great value of Miasmatic Diagnosis 5.8 The value of classifying symptoms/characteristics hierarchically 5.9 The critical value of differentiation between Primary and Secondary Behavior 5.10 The value of differentiation of Stages of Illness 5.11 The surprisingly great value of Non Verbal Information 5.12 Active Case Taking 5.13 The history of Miasmatic Diagnosis 5.14 What’s wrong with Repertorising? 5.15 What’s wrong with Computer Expert Systems?

89 5.16 What’s wrong with Key-Note Prescribing? 5.17 A stupid “homeopathic” rule! 5.18 The majority of Proving Pictures doesn’t correspond to Naturally Existing Idiosyncrasies/Homeopathic Remedies 5.19 The “curse” of “Great Masters”! 5.20 So many violations… 5.21 Homeopathy is fascinating only when it’s actually Homeopathy! 5.22 Energy similarity of the Homeopathic Remedy to a Naturally Existing Illness 5.23 Towards a new, Clinically Proved Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Materia Medica 5.24 At what level/levels of Etiological Chain of Illness acts each “homeopathic” method of diagnosis?

5.1 What does “similarity” really means? It’s now time to discuss about other methods of “homeopathic” diagnosis and compare it to Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Diagnosis. We must start our discussion with a crucial declaration: Homeopathic Law of Similarity tells us that the selection of homeopathic remedy depends on the method of diagnosis you employ because each method focuses on different states.

What do I mean by that? Let me lay down an example. If you consider as similarity, the similarity with Acute Disease (as defined by Allopathy) then you may say that Arnica is similar to bruises, Rhus Toxicodendron is similar to arthritis, Belladonna is similar to fever, Cantharis to urine infection, etc. Consequently you are justified to prescribe the above remedies for the above states of Acute Disease.

90

Unfortunately, this is an existing practice and it’s more than obvious that this isn’t a “homeopathic” approach since similarity doesn’t refer to the whole of the patient and since it violates Homeopathic Law of the Whole, Law of Similarity and Law of Individualization. That’s the reason why there are no therapeutic results or very poor ones mainly in the form of palliation if the administered remedy by chance happens to be relative to the simillimum.

If doctor does not focus on Acute Disease, per se, but on “similar version” of Acute Disease then he may say: This version of pneumonia resembles the Proving Picture of Arsenicum from respiratory system, the other version resembles the Proving Picture of Lycopodium, etc. So whenever I have such a similar version I prescribe the remedy that is similar to the version of Acute Disease according to Proving Pictures. You focus on Acute Disease, yet you individualize based on specific symptoms.

That’s what Hahnemann did for many years and that’s what many homeopathic doctors do nowadays. That is, they do a Repertorising focusing on special symptoms of Acute Disease and they prescribe that remedy that seems to be similar to “Lycopodium version” of pneumonia or to “Arsenicum version” of pneumonia.

The next step in the development of Homeopathic Diagnosis is not to focus only on Acute Disease but to go further and add general physical characteristics of the patient at the state of Clinical Health/Chronic Illness. It’s a better method but it’s still focused on Physical Level and on Acute Disease. It isn’t focused on idiosyncratic characteristics at the State of Clinical Health/Chronic Illness and it isn’t focused on Psychological Level.

91 What could go wrong in this case? I may have to do with a person that was influenced by Chronic Idiosyncrasy Lycopodium during the State of Clinical Health/Chronic Illness and the last days during the State of Acute Illness he is mostly influenced by Acute Idiosyncrasy Arsenicum. He now has the physical and psychological idiosyncratic symptoms of Arsenicum and if I prescribe Arsenicum he will do well and overcome this temporary state of Acute Illness.

However, if every time this patient comes to me with an Acute Illness I prescribe for him the corresponding Acute Idiosyncrasy then I will never touch his Chronic Illness and will never cure his Chronic Predispositions. This is a common practice nowadays. That’s the reason why many patients attend their homeopathic doctor for years and are pleased by the results in regard to the treatment of their Acute Diseases yet they keep coming again and again for the same problems.

The child with recurrent colds or the woman with recurrent vaginitis or the man with recurrent Panic Attacks do well every time they are prescribed for the Acute Relapse, yet, their Chronic Predispositions are there untouched. The person of our example was never given Lycopodium after the treatment of Acute Illness. He keeps taking Arsenicum or Belladonna or Aconitum during every incident of pneumonia, bronchitis or cold. There isn’t any focus on the State of Clinical Health/Chronic Illness.

5.2 What we call “State of Clinical Health” in Allopathy is but the State of Chronic Illness in Homeopathy What we call “State of Clinical Health” in Allopathy is but a conventional state of Health, a relative state of Health. Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Homeopathy believes that no human being on Earth is absolutely healthy. Since all of us, from birth to death, carry with us our miasmatic and idiosyncratic influences we are constantly at a state of Clinical Health/Chronic Illness.

92

Our Chronic Predispositions affect our performance 24 hours a day seven days a week, physically and psychologically. Allopathy doesn’t trace this state as Disease, yet homeopathic case taking reveals the effect of Chronic Illness in all our thoughts, feelings, actions and physical functions. If these predispositions are irritated by external physical or psychological factors then we develop an Acute Illness according to Etiological Chain of Illness as analyzed in previous chapters of this book.

So, it’s crucial to realize that whenever we say that someone is “clinically healthy” or “healthy” this isn’t a clear state of health either physically or psychologically. -OK, you may be influenced by a certain idiosyncrasy, yet, you may be balanced… -Nevertheless, this is a state of relative balance. You may not have an Acute Illness at the physical or psychological level, yet… -I mean not to have the intense characteristics of the idiosyncrasy… to be in balance. -Yet, it’s a relative balance. You may not have idiosyncratic symptoms but you still have idiosyncratic characteristics. For example you may not have manic attacks of anger which can be considered a Disease (Mania) by Allopathy yet you are the irritable unbalanced person for example with the characteristic irritability of Stramonium or Hyoscyamus at stage A, the state of Clinical Health.

You see, in Homeopathy, we can identify imbalance at an earlier stage than Allopathy, let’s say at a sub-clinical level, at the Level of Clinical Health/Chronic Illness. The above described person isn’t a case to be restricted at a Mental Institute or the case to be prescribed allopathic antipsychotic drugs, yet, by Homeopathy he is considered ill at the level of Chronic Illness and he can be treated by the similar remedy. In fact,

93 after the treatment he will be better and more balanced, yet, his balance will again be relative although at a higher level, at a more stable level.

5.3 Repertorising is wrong when it comes to Chronic Illness But, let me get back to our main subject. Many doctors, nowadays, claim that they practice Classical Homeopathy because they deal not only with the physical and psychological symptoms of Acute Illness but they also add the general physical and psychological characteristics at the state of Clinical Health/Chronic Illness. Somebody could say: “Why not call that “idiosyncratic, holistic diagnosis”?

Most of the times it’s not the intention and the goal that matters but the way, the method employed to reach the goal. If you use the wrong method, then despite good intentions and right goal, you end up in a different outcome. And the wrong method usually employed is Repertorising. If you try to go from Europe to America by a car (Disease Oriented Diagnosis) then you will never get there. If you try to go by a small fishing boat/balloon (Repertorising) you may make it but the odds are pretty faint. Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Diagnosis is the jet plane that will get you there quickly and safely!

Another great problem of Repertorising is that it’s based on a Materia Medica that isn’t either Miasmatic or Idiosyncratic. A third problem is the incorrect application of Universal/Homeopathic Laws during diagnosis and treatment. That’s the reason why quite often Repertorising ends up in selecting an Acute Idiosyncrasy instead of a chronic one or a relative one instead of the simillimum.

Unfortunately, this is the dominant method of homeopathic diagnosis nowadays. Even those that believe in Classical Homeopathy and claim of applying it, whenever they are based on Repertorising, they are let astray. Even those that base their effort to Kent’s Materia Medica are frequently

94 off the right course since only few remedies are described there in an integrated idiosyncratic way, let aside the miasmatic picture.

5.4 Chronic Idiosyncrasies Idiosyncrasies in Acute Illness

in

Chronic

Illness

and

Acute

We must also take in consideration that Repertory includes only about 50 Chronic Idiosyncrasies (as defined in previous chapters) while it includes a few hundreds of Acute Idiosyncrasies and thousands of “homeopathic” remedies that do not correspond to any Acute or Chronic Idiosyncrasy since they are merely Proving Pictures. What are the odds to focus on a Chronic Idiosyncrasy and moreover to the right one?

Let me give you an example. Let’s discuss again the previous example of a person who is influenced by idiosyncrasy Lycopodium during his State of Clinical Health/Chronic Illness. During an Acute Illness he may be influenced by several Acute Idiosyncrasies (Arsenicum, Belladonna, Aconitum, etc) before he returns back to previous chronic influence of Lycopodium.

-Well, yes, that’s an important fact. -So, when this patient comes to you, you prescribe for Acute Illness and you prescribe an Acute Idiosyncrasy/Remedy and the patient gets well. But, then, after that you should focus on Chronic Illness/Chronic Idiosyncrasy so as to treat his Chronic Predispositions and his Miasmatic Influences. -Someone comes to you with an Acute Disease. What do you do? -Let me tell you my personal story because I believe it will clear things. I was taught Homeopathy in a peculiar way. We were taught a dozen of Chronic Idiosyncrasies to be prescribed at Chronic Illness, yet, we weren’t taught any Acute Idiosyncrasies. For any acute case we were obliged to do the case taking and give it to the “professor” for prescription. The motive lying behind this status obviously was that we

95 couldn’t become self-dependent homeopathic doctors! Anyway, I will not say more about it because it’s a long and bitter story…

The outcome of this peculiar situation was that I was obliged for many years to focus almost exclusively on Chronic Idiosyncrasies and Chronic Illness having nothing to do with Repertory and Repertorising. This made it possible to have a complete focus on miasmatic and idiosyncratic characteristics and this gradually let me to the formation of my Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Materia Medica.

Later on, becoming an independent homeopathic doctor, I dealt on my own also with Acute Illness and found a way to do a proper Repertorising in acute cases. Nevertheless, I used Repertorising and prescribed for Acute Idiosyncrasies only for the temporary overcome of any Acute Illness, again staying focused on Chronic Illness/Chronic Idiosyncrasies.

5.5 Focus on the treatment of Chronic Illness by prescribing for Chronic Idiosyncrasies This gradually helped me realize that there are only about 50 Chronic Idiosyncrasies that are mainly prescribed for Chronic Illness/State of Clinical Health which can treat the patient in a deeper way thus eliminating his Chronic Predispositions. These Chronic Idiosyncrasies can also be of great value to Acute Illness where indicated by the Law of Similarity.

However, there are a few hundreds of Acute Idiosyncrasies that are almost exclusively indicated for Acute Illness. These ones usually haven’t got such a wide range covering all organic systems with specific symptoms and characteristics and haven’t got any characteristic psychological profile. They usually have a very specific clinical picture at one or few organic systems for example Sarsaparilla for Urinary System, Rhus Toxicodendron for Muscles and Bones, etc.

96

Nevertheless, the most surprising and important realization was that all other thousands of Proving Pictures are not, in fact, naturally existing states! They are merely Laboratory Poisoning Pictures, pictures of Artificial Illness that don’t correspond to Naturally Existing Idiosyncrasies. Consequently, they should not be considered as Homeopathic Remedies since they aren’t similar to any naturally existing state!

So, whenever a patient comes to me the first step is to ask about the symptoms of the Disease in order to come up with the allopathic diagnosis. If he is in a state of Acute Illness I do a special kind of Repertorising so as to prescribe first for his Acute Illness giving Acute Homeopathic Medicines for a couple of days.

My next step is to focus on his Chronic Illness and on his miasmatic and idiosyncratic characteristics so as to prescribe a Chronic Remedy that suits his Chronic Idiosyncrasy/Chronic Illness. He will receive this Chronic Remedy immediately after his Acute Illness has passed, usually after three to five days. Even if he comes to me with a history of Chronic Disease I never focus on his chronic physical symptoms but on the contrary I always focus on his miasmatic and idiosyncratic characteristics.

We must realize that from the point of hierarchy, what really matters, is the State of Clinical Health/Chronic Illness and not his State of Acute Illness. Consequently, hierarchically, what matters are first miasmatic characteristics, then psychological characteristics and profile, then general physical characteristics and only then come symptoms. And when it comes to symptoms first are psychological symptoms in Acute Illness, then are general physical symptoms (generals), then follow Key Notes and last are local symptoms (particulars). The above classification is in accordance with Universal/Homeopathic Law of Hierarchy.

97

As you must have noticed by now, Law Knowledge isn’t merely a theoretical matter in Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Homeopathy. I try to apply Universal/Homeopathic Laws at all stages of Diagnosis and Treatment.

Let’s get back to hierarchy of characteristics and symptoms and put all said in a table/list.

Hierarchical Table of Characteristics/Symptoms 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7.

Miasmatic Characteristics (Chronic Illness) General Psychological Characteristics (Chronic Illness) General Physical Characteristics (Chronic Illness) Psychological Symptoms (Acute Illness) General Physical Symptoms (generals) (Acute Illness) Characteristic Symptoms (key notes) (Acute Illness) Local Symptoms (particulars) (Acute Illness)

Once again, I emphasize on the fact that Characteristics are more important than Symptoms since the first have to do with Chronic Illness while the second have to do with Acute Illness.

It’s of utmost importance to realize that the kind of case taking done and the kind of Materia Medica consulted will define our homeopathic diagnosis/selection of simillimum. If I focus on Acute Illness I may prescribe the Acute Remedy that is similar to the Acute Idiosyncrasy thus helping my patient overcome the stage of Acute Illness. However, I won’t touch his Chronic Illness at all unless I happen to deal with the rare case where my patient during his Acute Illness is influenced by the same Idiosyncrasy as in his Chronic Illness state. On the other hand if I focus on his Chronic Illness and prescribe the Chronic Remedy that is similar to his Chronic Idiosyncrasy then I will help my patient overcome his Chronic Predispositions.

98

5.6 Repertorising favors the selection of Acute Remedies If we try to do Repertorising focusing on physical symptoms of Acute Illness we will definitely select an Acute Remedy. The same thing will happen even if we add psychological symptoms of Acute Illness.

What if we use Repertorising focusing on characteristics of the patient during the State of Clinical Health/Chronic Illness? My experience tells me that we may again end up selecting Acute Idiosyncrasies or come up with Chronic Idiosyncrasies that are irrelevant or close to simillimum. There are so many reasons for this outcome.

Firstly, as mentioned above, the majority of remedies that are enlisted in any Repertory are either not homeopathic remedies (since they aren’t similar to naturally existing Idiosyncrasies) or they are Acute Remedies. Secondly, the majority of entries of any Repertory are particulars, fewer key notes, fewer general physical symptoms and even fewer psychological symptoms. Characteristics are rare and miasmatic characteristics are absent. Well, that’s the reverse order of the hierarchical table of symptoms/characteristics mentioned above. You see Repertories are mostly built on symptoms of Acute Illness and secondarily on characteristics of Chronic Illness.

Another reason for the failure of Repertorising as a method is the difficulty in “translating” the words of the patient into the correct rubrics of Repertory. Nowadays, in the Syphilitic Era that we live in, things become even more difficult. We find ourselves lost in a Modern Babel since Repertories include only description of Secondary Behavior and don’t differentiate between Primary and Secondary Behavior. Most of the times, syphilitic individuals have a distinct and even opposite Secondary Behavior compared to the Primary one.

99 Let me give you an example: If you go to Kent’s Repertory and look at the rubric “Weeping, tearful mood” you will find enlisted many psoric, sycotic and syphilitic Chronic Idiosyncrasies, all together with no differentiation (not to mention that we have to let apart all Acute Idiosyncrasies enlisted there and all Artificial Proving Pictures that don’t correspond to Naturally Existing Idiosyncrasies).

Yet, “weeping” is a Secondary Behavior and the primary reason, motive, conditions and characteristics of this outcome are totally different when we are dealing with a psoric, sycotic and syphilitic individual. Even among Idiosyncrasies of the same Miasm there are great differences. So you have a Secondary Behavior with no information about all the factors that lead to it.

An extra reason for mistakes is that syphilitic individuals, who are the majority nowadays, tend to exaggerate in regard to the intensity of their symptoms leading any inexperienced doctor to over-grade it. So, if you are mainly supporting your diagnosis to Repertory, then you are in big trouble.

For instance, a syphilitic Lachesis woman adopts Secondary Behavior of “the sensitive poor wife” who is the victim of “her cruel irascible husband”. Consequently, she appears to be “weeping, grade 3” and on top of that she declares herself as “oversensitive”, “emotional”, “submissive”, “good”, “kind”, etc. Yet, in most cases, things aren’t at all like that. On the contrary, this is but a well played role and behind it there’s a tendency for manipulation and domination not only over her husband but also over her children. Is this a rare case! No, not at all! This is a very frequent situation!

So, if you are a Repertorising doctor and you don’t know anything about Miasms or if you know some theoretical staff but you don’t know how miasms affect case taking, then you are entrapped. You are lost and the

100 case is definitely lost! You’ve probably prescribed Pulsatilla instead of Lachesis!

5.7 The great value of Miasmatic Diagnosis Homeopathic Philosophy helped me immensely to clear many things regarding Diagnosis and Treatment. In fact, it was Holistic Philosophy and Universal Laws that made possible a tremendous break through into everyday homeopathic clinical practice.

I tried to understand the deeper nature of Miasms and finally reached a point where full identification of the physical and psychological picture of the psoric, sycotic and syphilitic individual has been achieved. This physical and especially this psychological profile of the psoric, sycotic and syphilitic individual is described in details in my book “Homeopathic Medicine and the Theory of Miasms”.

The next step was to identify the miasmatic characteristics of all Chronic Idiosyncrasies. It has come to my attention that individuals influenced by the same Idiosyncrasy had significant differences according to the leading miasm and according to the intensity of influence of the second miasm. For example, while Lachesis is a leading syphilitic idiosyncrasy the clinical picture of individuals influenced by it, vary a lot if there’s a strong second miasm also affecting the person. Thus, we may have the psoric version of Lachesis or the sycotic version.

This is of great help when we encounter individuals that weren’t primarily Lachesis subjects but have been “forced” to become such due to external conditions. You may find women that have been strongly and frequently influenced by Sulphur (psoric miasm) in the past and now have turned into Lachesis subjects, yet psoric ones (psoric version of Lachesis).

101 In fact, quite often, Valerian teenagers or young women (syphilitic miasm) when becoming mothers gradually become overprotective mothers and tend to be influenced by Lachesis. They haven’t changed miasmatic influence, yet clinical picture of Lachesis is altered slightly or greatly due to the yet existing effect of the Valerian background. This background does not only include present etheric influence but it also includes all the adopted ideas and patterns of behavior of the past that still characterize the person. Please, do remember that the Individual is a lot more than the Idiosyncrasy that, at times affect it.

When doctor comes up with all the above versions of Lachesis in an individual, he will still prescribe the homeopathic remedy Lachesis yet knowing the miasmatic and other versions of an idiosyncrasy is crucial.

There are many idiosyncrasies that are characterized by a mixture of miasms that makes it possible for one miasm to dominate in one area/level and for another miasm to dominate in another area/level. For example Phosphor is very psoric as to principles, motives, morality and ideas while on the physical level and on the area of expression he is very sycotic. The same is also true for a relevant of Phosphor idiosyncrasy, i.e. Pulsatilla. Thuja is very sycotic physically while at the same time is very psoric as to expression, self-confidence and psychological profile.

If the doctor is ignorant as to the above miasmatic characteristics of all Chronic Idiosyncrasies there’s a great chance that he will lose the case. These miasmatic characteristics of any Chronic Idiosyncrasy are described in details in my Homeopathic Materia Medica. That’s why I call my Materia Medica as Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Materia Medica.

5.8 The value of classifying symptoms/characteristics hierarchically It was of great value for my homeopathic clinical practice that apart from the Science and Profession of Homeopathy I had a great love for

102 Philosophy and especially Holistic Philosophy. The latter one gave me insight into Universal Laws and the levels of Universe and Man. The next step was to apply these laws into everyday homeopathic clinical practice.

For years I’ve been wondering what Kent really means when he says in his “Lectures on Homeopathic Philosophy” that “Man is but his will and understanding”. After much consideration I ended up in the following “translation”: “An individual is made up from his desires/motives (will) and from the way he interprets facts (understanding)”.

Kent insisted on classifying psychological symptoms as much more important than physical ones. Furthermore, he considered those psychological symptoms that had to do with will and desires as of greater value than those that had to do with brain functions like memory, concentration, etc.

He also considered general physical symptoms (generals) as more important than local symptoms (particulars). He supported that generals have to do more with the individual/idiosyncrasy while particulars have to do more with the Disease/organism. For example if a person is chilly only during pneumonia, this is a particular. If he is chilly no matter what the Acute Disease this is a general symptom of the patient. Moreover, if he is a chilly person while in the State of Clinical Health/Chronic Illness, then this is a general characteristic of the individual.

Kent, also classified as more important those symptoms that were strange (peculiar symptoms) than those that were ordinary (regulars). For example, if I have fever, sweat a lot and I feel thirsty, then the latter one is a regular symptom. On the contrary, if I have fever, sweat a lot and yet not only I am not thirsty but on top of that I have an aversion for water, then this is a peculiar symptom.

103 I have applied the Universal Law of Hierarchy to Man and Illness and the result was the Etiological Chain of Illness as mentioned above and as described in details in the book “Causes of Illness”. On top of the Chain are Miasmatic and Idiosyncratic Influences of a person that affect his motives, intentions, will and desires. Then come Thoughts, then Emotions and finally Behavior.

5.9 The critical value of differentiation between Primary and Secondary Behavior An innovation of my Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Diagnosis is the differentiation of Primary and Secondary Behavior. Primary Behavior is in union with miasmatic and idiosyncratic characteristics of the person while Secondary Behavior differs from the above characteristics. A detailed analysis can be found in the book “Behavior”.

It’s crucial for the doctor to be familiar with the various Secondary Behaviors that all Chronic Idiosyncrasies tend to develop. In the description of Chronic Idiosyncrasies in my Materia Medica I mention most of the Secondary Behaviors that each idiosyncrasy tends to put forward. If homeopathic doctor prescribes focusing on Secondary Behavior without taking in consideration Primary Behavior that lies at the background then he is very often mistaken.

-Well, in Acute Illness also, the behavior of the person differs from his usual behavior. -That’s right, but this doesn’t have to do anything with Primary and Secondary Behavior. This has to do with the fact that during any Acute Illness the individual is, as a rule, influenced temporarily by one, or successively by two or more Acute Idiosyncrasies that differ from the Chronic Idiosyncrasy prevailing during the State of Clinical Health/Chronic Illness.

104 Let’s now get back to what I was saying previously. It’s critical for the doctor to prescribe according to Primary Behavior of the patient and not according to his Secondary Behaviors. And that’s the reason why in my Materia Medica I describe most frequent Secondary Behaviors that each idiosyncrasy tends to adopt comparing them to the Primary Behavior. That doesn’t mean that diagnostically any Secondary Behavior isn’t useful. In fact, many times it’s Secondary Behavior that leads you to Primary one.

For example, the Secondary Behavior of “the sensitive poor woman” adopted by a Lachesis subject in a previous example being in disunion with the rest of the data collected for this person leads the doctor to diagnose syphilitic miasm. Furthermore, “hypocrisy” and “tendency for dominance” also lead to Lachesis. Can you see how important is to examine the person as a whole and not to focus on isolated symptoms, which is the tendency of the method of Repertorising?

5.10 The value of differentiation of Stages of Illness Up to now, we have talked about three innovations that characterize Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Diagnosis. The first one is miasmatic point of view, the second one hierarchic evaluation and the third one differentiation between Primary and Secondary Behavior.

It’s time to move on to a fourth innovation. As a rule, Repertories and Materia Medica mix symptoms and characteristics from different stages of Illness creating chaos and confusion. A functional classification of symptoms and characteristics that is based on naturally existing states is the following adopted by me: Stage A is the State of Clinical Health/Chronic Illness. Stage B is the state of mild Acute Illness and Stage C is the state of advanced Acute Illness. Finally, Stage D is the state of complete and severe physical/psychological disorganization.

105 In fact, Repertories and Materia Medica include mostly symptoms from Stage C and D, secondarily symptoms from Stage B and only few characteristics from Stage A. Even the great master Kent, has these stages mixed not only in his Repertory but even in his Materia Medica especially when he describes Acute Remedies/Idiosyncrasies or even Chronic Ones for which he didn’t grasp the essence. He then quotes an arbitrary list of symptoms with only criterion the organic system they refer to. At times in his Materia Medica he distinguishes between a primary stage and an advanced stage of Illness.

Let me lay down an example of what I mean. Phosphor at Stage A, of Clinical Health/Chronic Illness, doesn’t have any phobias about his health. Yet, he has the seeds of such fears since he is very much interested on health matters and has the tendency to frequently do medical check-ups. You can also notice that he takes good care about his diet and fitness just because he is afraid of illness, although when asked he may not accept such intention. On the same line of events and intention he avoids sleeping on the left side simply because someone once told him that “lying on the left side burdens the heart”.

When things move to Stage B, of primary Acute Illness, then we have the typical phobias of Phosphor about his health as described in most Materia Medica and his typical extrovert disposition in regard to symptoms. Yet, at Stage C, of advanced Acute Illness, there’s a profound withdrawal. He is still afraid about his health, yet he is so disappointed from the fact that he finds no cure and relief that he doesn’t talk so much about his fears and doesn’t attend often doctors. He is more withdrawn to himself, less expressed, not wanting company so much, less social and more depressed.

During Stage D, we have an advanced stage of Depression that hasn’t got any profound characteristic compared to similar stages of other idiosyncrasies and that’s the reason why symptoms of this stage are almost useless for our idiosyncratic diagnosis.

106

A fifth innovation of Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Homeopathy is the description of the versions of Secondary Behavior and general Clinical Picture that are created under the influence of factors like age, sex, race, social status, financial status, education, psychological evolution, etc. For example how is a Phosphor child compared to the teenager and to the adult Phosphor subject? Or how is an educated Phosphor compared to a non-educated one?

5.11 The surprisingly great value of Non Verbal Information A sixth innovation of Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Diagnosis is the utilization of Non Verbal Information. It’s not accidental that of the three two-hour lectures on Homeopathic Case Taking, the one was exclusively about Non Verbal Information. The other two were about General Physical Characteristics and General Psychological Characteristics. Let me also remind you that during these lectures on Homeopathic Case Taking we let aside all symptoms of Acute Illness since they are not considered as important as the characteristics of Chronic Illness.

In regard to Non Verbal Information let me remind you that even at the allopathic case taking we record not only symptoms mentioned by the patient but also signs observed by the doctor. Especially in the case of psychiatric case taking these signs may be much more important and crucial to diagnosis than symptoms. Often the psychiatric patient says one thing and you observe the opposite.

For example a paranoid schizophrenic patient may seem to lay down very rational arguments and comments about society or politics or philosophy and an inexperienced doctor may say: “How rational and composed is his thinking!” However, if doctor compares what the patient says with what he does at his everyday life then he will recognize clear signs of insanity.

107 You will not find such Non Verbal Information in any Repertory or Materia Medica apart from my Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Materia Medica and my Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Case Taking. I consider such information as valuable and guiding. It’s more than certain that there’s no direct absolute relation of any certain Non Verbal Information with a specific Idiosyncrasy. Any certain Idiosyncrasy may develop several different or even contrary Non Verbal signs yet there are distinctive signs that can be used only as guiding data, as data that remind doctor of certain idiosyncrasies. They are things to be taken in consideration and to be compared with the whole of the patient.

5.12 Active Case Taking Let me also remind you of a certain fact. I believe that during your training, sitting by me at the office, you must have noticed that when the patient enters the office and before asking him any question I usually write down on a paper one or two possible idiosyncrasies based only on Non Verbal Information. It may have been his external appearance or body type, the way he behaved at the waiting room, the smell of his body, his kind of clothing, gestures, air of confidence/timidity, etc.

This is what I mean by saying that Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Case Taking is active. I won’t say any more about it since this is discussed in details in the books “Homeopathic Case Taking” and “Clinical Cases”.

Even at the first phase of case taking, the phase of collecting data, the doctor is an active receiver not only recording data but also thinking of possible idiosyncrasies and miasms and gradually asking targeted questions to verify or reject these possibilities. This enables him to reach final diagnosis in a very short time. On the contrary, if you do Repertorising it’s going to take two hours or more and you may get not even close to the simillimum. The reason is that you don’t take things hierarchically and you get drowned in an ocean of mixed and arbitrary symptoms.

108

-You are so right! You get lost if you don’t evaluate things correctly and systematically. -You have seen me in the office and you know how I work. First of all I grab the patient by the collar and I don’t let him drive me astray into information that isn’t important. Yet, this is done in a very careful way so as to avoid driving him to prejudiced answers.

You must have also noticed that the average duration of a first case taking is about 45 minutes and that most of this is spent on procedure: recording of his personal data, allopathic case taking, check his laboratory examinations, express my opinion about his diagnosed diseases, express my opinion about his present medication, explain briefly what is Homeopathy and what it can do to his problems, instructions about his homeopathic treatment, etc.

Miasmatic idiosyncratic case taking, per se, lasts from 5-20 minutes! Nevertheless, the method of Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Case Taking already begins from the very first second of the contact with the patient; even from the time he calls to set an appointment. I believe that you must have seen me noting down an appointment after a telephone call and you must have noticed that many times I note down his possible idiosyncrasy… -Yes, yes… and I remember asking you about it. So you start observing him even from the very beginning. -Well, that’s possible because of the utilization of Non Verbal Information. Let me also remind you that we can have miasmatic and idiosyncratic information from the diseases he had in the past and from present diseases.

5.13 The history of Miasmatic Diagnosis

109 We should not forget that Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Case Taking goes along, hand by hand, with Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Materia Medica. Only if you bear inside your mind and heart the miasmatic, idiosyncratic pictures and essence of all Chronic Idiosyncrasies, only then you can perform an active miasmatic idiosyncratic Case Taking.

-Was Miasmatic Diagnosis practiced in the past? -No. The concept of Miasms was first introduced by Hahnemann and only after 20 whole years of homeopathic practice. Even then, it was a theoretical approach that had little to do with diagnosis. There were general reports that this remedy is antipsoric or antisycotic or antisyphilitic and there was a very rough classification of physical symptoms or diseases as belonging to the one or to the other miasmatic group. However, there was no concrete method of miasmatic diagnosis.

How Hahnemann came to realize the concept of Miasms? That’s a very interesting story. Hahnemann and his colleagues spent 20 years prescribing mostly Acute Remedies in low potencies for Acute Illness. They used one or more remedies successively until recovery from the Acute Illness was achieved.

Gradually, Hahnemann observed that the same complaints kept coming back again and again although the patient was treated successfully each time with Acute Remedies. There seemed to be some sort of Chronic Predispositions and what was named Acute Illness (that included several acute diseases) wasn’t but the exacerbation of the same Chronic Illness again and again. So, he concluded that he ought to focus beyond Acute Illness and try to treat Chronic Illness. Nevertheless, as Hippocrates said “Life is short and the Art of Medicine long”, so he never finished what he started.

110 It was Kent that continued this work of Hahnemann. He managed to identify certain Chronic Idiosyncrasies not only at the state of Acute Illness but also at the state of Chronic Illness/Clinical Health. Although he classified many remedies as “deep and long acting” and other as “short acting” he never managed to grasp the differentiation between Chronic Remedies/Idiosyncrasies that correspond to Chronic Illness and Acute Remedies/Idiosyncrasies that correspond to Acute Illness.

Furthermore, he never understood that most of the Proving Pictures cannot be considered as Idiosyncrasies since they don’t correspond to any naturally existing Acute or Chronic Illness and for this reason they shouldn’t be considered as homeopathic remedies. If he had, then he would erase from Repertory and Materia Medica most of “homeopathic remedies”. Up to now, to the best of my knowledge, I believe that I am the first to have realized such a thing, and to be honest, this happened only during recently when writing this book.

I was truly inspired by Kent, both by his Philosophy and by his Materia Medica. I find his Repertory very useful in Acute Illness and very useful for the study of Idiosyncrasies. Nevertheless, its use in Chronic Illness especially in the method of Repertorising has done a great damage to Idiosyncratic Diagnosis.

5.14 What’s wrong with Repertorising? It’s time to be more specific and proceed to a detailed criticism of the method of Repertorising done either manually or by computer with the help of Computer Expert Systems.

The first cause of mistakes is the fact that no Repertory or Materia Medica includes in a satisfying way the miasmatic point of view. The second cause of mistakes is that in the majority of Repertories and Materia Medica a satisfying description of the essence or even a

111 satisfying psychological profile of Chronic Idiosyncrasies are not included. A third source of mistakes is the numerous entries of “homeopathic remedies” that shouldn’t be considered as so since they don’t correspond in any naturally existing Acute or Chronic Illness; they are merely Proving Pictures, i.e. Artificial Illness.

-I get the idea. -The outcome is confusion, chaos; you get lost. A fourth source of mistakes when you do Repertorising is that you tend to focus on Acute Illness and Acute Remedies. First of all, the patient insists on describing his acute complaints. Repertory is full of acute symptoms during Acute Illness while characteristics during Chronic Illness/State of Clinical Health are much less. In addition, Acute Idiosyncrasies/Remedies are much more than Chronic Idiosyncrasies/Remedies. A fifth disadvantage of Repertorising is that it’s extremely time-consuming since you have to search among numerous symptoms.

Let’s see what happens when you do Repertorising in everyday practice. There comes to you a certain patient with dozens of physical symptoms that have to do with several Acute or Chronic Diseases. First you have to write down all these symptoms and then you have to evaluate it. Let’s assume that you have narrowed down all these symptoms to 5-10 important ones.

The next step is to search the rubrics of Repertory. You will find out that for each rubric there are dozens of corresponding remedies. In addition, the proposed remedies differ from Repertory to Repertory and so differs the evaluation. Another thing is that you may find the same remedy as capital in opposite symptoms.

For example, you will find Rhus Toxicodendron in capital degree both in “back pain, motion, during” and in “back pain, motion ameliorates”. If

112 you don’t know the real nature of Rhus Toxicodendron you will be confused.

If things are troubling in the search of physical symptoms, then when it comes to psychological symptoms and especially general rubrics then you are in deep trouble unless you are very familiar with the psychological profile, the miasmatic aspect and the essence of each and every Chronic or Acute Remedy. For example, under the general rubric “Anxiety” there are over 200 remedies listed, 36 of which in capital degree! In addition, this rubric has over 250 sub-rubrics in which a couple of thousands of remedies are enlisted!

5.15 What’s wrong with Computer Expert Systems? The above difficulties let some homeopathic doctors to the development of Computer Expert Systems that could handle rapidly thousands of data doing at the same time comparison. Apart from the already existing sources of mistakes mentioned about Repertorising there are some extra problems when it comes to Computer Expert Systems.

The first problem is that not all entries of symptoms are valid since such Expert Systems include data from many Repertories of different authors that have different proposals for the same symptom and in addition different evaluation for the degree of proposed remedy. Let’s assume that homeopathic doctor took a detailed case taking and evaluated symptoms correctly and now it’s time to put these symptoms into the System for search. So what? You’ll have an endless printout of rubrics and proposed remedies without rational evaluation.

Even those Expert Systems that claim that they do rational evaluation they end up in failure because Human Psyche is an abyss that cannot be limited into manmade “stupid” and “heartless” dictionaries or computers. The same is also true about Human Physical Pathology. No machine can

113 ever replace human intelligence that originates from Individual Psyche and from its resonance with the Psychic World and not from the brain. Furthermore, in Homeopathy you don’t have to do with isolated symptoms of a malfunctioning machine but you have to do with a suffering, intelligent human being, with an individualized entity.

Anyone who can’t understand the above truths is polluted by materialistic thinking and his case is incurable! The real problem is that his patients also will remain without any cure!

The usual outcome of a Repertorising or Computer Expert System search is to lead the doctor to select an Acute Idiosyncrasy/Remedy instead of a Chronic Idiosyncrasy/Remedy. It may also lead to the selection of a Chronic Remedy that isn’t similar to the patient. This partly happens for another reason: Repertorising and Computer Expert Systems propose the remedy that has the greatest number of show ups in rubrics. Yet, this isn’t most of the times the similar one.

For example you have a man that is influenced by Lycopodium when in the State of Clinical Health/Chronic Illness. He gets down with a cold with high fever (Acute Illness) and he is now influenced by Belladonna. At the same time, during this Acute Illness he has many symptoms of Arsenicum and Aconitum.

Let’s say that you have noted down all his physical and psychological symptoms during this Acute Illness and that in addition you have also included his general physical characteristics and his psychological characteristics during the previous State of Clinical Health/Chronic Illness. Since the symptoms of Acute Illness outnumber characteristics of Chronic Illness you will end up prescribing Belladonna or Aconitum or Arsenicum for Acute Illness. You won’t prescribe Lycopodium after the Acute Illness has passed, which is the remedy that suits Chronic Illness.

114

-You mean to say that most homeopathic doctors practice Homeopathy in this way? -Unfortunately, yes! That’s what they were taught by their teachers. They were taught the method of Repertorising. And then some teachers who love being called “masters” and who considered themselves as “experts”, developed “smart” Computer Expert Systems and the student doctors got blinder than before. Some of these “masters” were wise and knowledgeable in the beginning but due to “money and glory” in the end they have lost whatever magic was there in their hearts and minds.

Even Materia Medica of these “masters” is full of mistakes. Most of the times, instead of giving the essence and miasmatic aspect and psychological profile of Chronic Idiosyncrasies, these Materia Medica are but endless lists of mixed symptoms in an arbitrary classification without meaning and rational connection.

5.16 What’s wrong with Key-Note Prescribing? Another “homeopathic” method of diagnosis is Key-Note Prescribing. This method is focused on Key-symptoms that are very characteristic and are found only in one or in few idiosyncrasies. These symptoms may be physical – most of the times – or psychological.

Doctors based on this method tend to “hunt” such symptoms and thus let aside the whole of the patient. If the image you have in your mind about a certain idiosyncrasy isn’t the whole and the essence of it and instead the image is a bunch of Key Notes, then you have lost the whole. That’s the reason why this method ends up in unacceptable, not to say stupid kinds of practice that I see every day in patients coming to me from other doctors like: “cries all the time give her Pulsatilla”, “aversion sex give her Sepia”, “motion ameliorates give Rhus Toxicodendron”, “fastidious give Nux Vomica”, “wants feet out of bed in winter give Sulphur”, etc.

115

A great source of mistakes of this method is wrong evaluation of the degree of Key-Note Symptoms. Let me remind you that when we dealt with Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Case Taking we spend much time insisting on evaluation of symptoms explaining each time in details what each degree of any symptoms stands for. For example, what does “desire for sweet, degree 3” stands for, what does “desire for sweet, degree 2” stands for and what does “desire for sweet, degree 1” means.

-I agree that this is indeed very important. -Let me give you an example of how mistakes arise in this method. Let’s take the key-note symptom “aversion sex 3”. What does this mean? Is it something that only Sepia has? And why does Sepia have it? From what essence, from what whole does it come from? What’s the individual Sepia that lies behind this specific symptom? What other individuals present a relative but not similar state?

For example a lustful Lycopodium individual after being frustrated from his early ejaculations and out of fear that he may be ridiculed to his sex partner may develop what may seem as “aversion sex 3”. In reality he is lustful. His Primary Behavior is a lustful one; he longs sex; he thinks of sex all the time. Yet, when he can’t operate successfully and is afraid of being exposed to the other sex then he may even find an excuse for him and others, let’s say that he is adopting an attitude of Christian self control and claim that he has “aversion sex”!

Well, that has nothing to do with Sepia’s “aversion sex 3”. Sepia is so “sucked up” in regard to energy that has no energy left for the desire of sex or for the act of sex. Not only she hasn’t got any kind of orgasm but on top of that if forced to participate to sex she feels very bad during the act and much worse physically and psychologically after it.

116 Natrum Muriaticum is a relative to Sepia idiosyncrasy. It can also develop a state of aversion sex. However, there are very important differences if we focus on the person and not on the symptom. Natrum Muriaticum is usually a person with normal energy and increased desire for sex and emotional exchange although she tends to be very conservative and very shy in regard to sexual matters.

If her sexual partner is a person that truly loves her, if he is full of understanding and gentle manners then she will have frequent desire for sex, great performance and normal orgasm. Yet, if she is disappointed from her husband and if she has no feelings or hurt feelings towards him, then she will have no desire for sex or even aversion for sex, however mostly towards him and not towards sex in general. Nevertheless, this has nothing to do with Sepia’s “aversion sex”.

Many times, women that haven’t had a relation for months or years develop a state of “no desire for sex”, yet, this isn’t, by no means, a case of “aversion sex”! Is it now clear how important is to evaluate the degree of any symptom accurately? Is it also clear how tremendously important is not to focus on the key-symptom but on the person that lies behind it?

If anyone tries to practice Key Note Prescribing without knowing the essence and whole picture of idiosyncrasies he is lead to serious mistakes. On the other hand, if a doctor knows the essence and whole picture of all idiosyncrasies what’s the point of practicing Key-Note Prescribing? If you know the whole why focus on the part? If you have a three dimensional, high definition video clip that gives you the whole, then what do you need a bunch of unconnected black and white snapshots of the event?

5.17 A stupid “homeopathic” rule! -From what you said it’s obvious that you’ll probably do mistakes.

117 -Nevertheless, Key-Note Prescribing is widely practiced even by doctors who claim to practice Classical Homeopathy. Recently I happen to read a magazine of a well known Homeopathic Medical Association. It had a standard column called “Case Report”. The doctor made a “presentation” of the case by giving to the readers a few “Key notes” and a few other capital(grade 3) and italic(grade 2) symptoms. These were the “clues” and the reader was called to reach a “homeopathic” diagnosis!

Unfortunately this nonsense practice is based on a stupid “homeopathic” rule that says: “If you have two or three capital symptoms and five italics then you have a valid diagnosis in hand”!

Well, I say that this isn’t Homeopathy! This is a grocery shop from which if you buy two or three kinds of meat and five vegetables then you certainly have a Hungarian “goulash”, i.e. meat and vegetables soup! For God’s sake! Is this Homeopathy? Is this Medicine? Is this Science?

Can you present a case by saying: “he was cold 3, afraid of cancer 2, fastidious 3, had this Arsenicum-type fever and cough, so we have prescribed Arsenicum”! Is this a presentation of a clinical case? What does that have to do with the detailed presentations that you have come across during your training that included the miasmatic and idiosyncratic profile of the patient and his essence? Well, that’s the difference between Key-Note Prescribing and Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Diagnosis.

If you follow the above “homeopathic” rule you may end in ten different idiosyncrasies. That’s the reason why you may have the same patient examined successively by ten different “Key Note Prescribing doctors” and they may end up in five different prescriptions. Moreover, these prescriptions are usually wrong or they may be similar to Acute Illness and not to Chronic Illness.

118 -I don’t know what to say! I just can’t believe that so many homeopathic doctors practice Homeopathy in this way! -Let me remind you of a certain case analysis during your training. There was that woman patient with “love disappointment” who had come to me from another homeopathic doctor. That doctor was a colleague of mine. He had the same training as I, yet after years of practice he adopted KeyNote Prescribing. So, he prescribed Ignatia according to the Key-Note saying “Love Disappointment, give Ignatia or Natrum Muriaticum!” Yet, as I have proved to you, she was a clear typical case of Lachesis, something that you, yourselves have guessed even from the beginning of the presentation.

So many doctors practice Repertorising and Key-Note Prescribing and at the same time have the audacity to say that they practice “Classical Homeopathy”! Well, there’s no miasmatic or idiosyncratic element in these methods. There’s no holistic approach. And that’s a great problem.

Not to mention Computer Expert Systems. The latter ones are a sophisticated, modern madness! Yet, there are these ambitious “great masters” of Homeopathy that claim that through Computer Systems they pass over to us ignorant doctors all their wisdom and experience and all their expertise on the field! They claim that by putting all the data of Repertories and Materia Medica and all their “wisdom and experience” into that “wise machine”, we can prescribe as successfully as they do! What a chimera! What nonsense! What a well paid nonsense!

-I doubt if such an act makes any sense.

5.18 The majority of Proving Pictures doesn’t correspond to Naturally Existing Idiosyncrasies/Homeopathic Remedies Many doctors that use Repertorising for prescription in Chronic Illness blame the lack of enough Proving Pictures for their poor therapeutic

119 results. Consequently, they proceed to new Provings using the most rare or complex chemical compounds or the most rare plants or animal products. They go as far as using all possible disease products for the cure of corresponding diseases or for the cure of new arbitrary “Miasms” founded by their vivid imagination.

All these, usually are mere desperate efforts to “fill in the blanks” of their therapeutic deficiency. In the majority of cases, this effort leads to thousands of Proving Pictures that are merely laboratory poisoning; i.e. Artificial Illness that hasn’t got any corresponding, naturally existing, similar Clinical Picture.

When we apply the Law of Similarity we should always bear in mind that it doesn’t refer only to Acute Illness and symptoms but to the whole and this definitely includes Chronic Illness/State of Clinical Health of the individual, the emphasis focused on miasmatic and idiosyncratic characteristics. Unfortunately, nowadays, many bright and honest homeopathic doctors are lost and disappointed in the labyrinth of Repertory and the wrong methods of Repertorising, Key-Note Prescribing and Computer Expert Systems.

5.19 The “curse” of “Great Masters”! -What about the School of X master? -His School started with very good intentions and perspectives employing at first the focus on idiosyncrasy and essence of the remedy, even employing some miasmatic background. Nevertheless, as years went by, prescribing and education focused on Repertory, Repertorising and Key Note Prescribing. The final disastrous derailment was done by the introduction of his Computer Expert System.

120 This was done for three reasons. The first reason is that “Money and Glory spoil people” the second reason is that “Money and Glory spoil people” and the third reason is that “Money and Glory spoil people”… -(laughing) -Whenever you create “Associations” and “Centers” and “Schools” that become “the hen that lays golden eggs” and if you are a syphilitic person characterized by dominance and vanity you want people to remain under your control or under your shadow. So, your educational system and your professional system creates dependent submissive students that praise your name, that are in need of your well paid seminars and that are in need of your “Computer Expert Systems”, etc.

This isn’t only the case of X. So many students of him replicated his system of manipulation in order “to become caliphs instead of Caliph”. They opposed the original “master” and created their own “School” claiming that now they were the ones possessing absolute truth! So, nowadays, we have many “great masters” and many dependent, semiblind students that follow this or that “School”.

Let me remind you of what I have told you again and again, a thousand times. Universal Law of Truth says that you possess that quantity and quality of Truth corresponding to your moral and psychic evolution; not more, not less. If you fall so does your wisdom!

Those who practice Repertorising or Key-Note Prescribing focus on a desperate effort to remember as many symptoms/key-notes as possible from as many remedies as possible. That’s practically impossible and that’s the reason why the next step downhill is Computer Expert Systems!

Some other desperate ones find relief and comfort to Disease Oriented Materia Medica, the so called “Homeopathic Therapeutics”. For example

121 they go to the rubric “Pneumonia” and try to find what remedy has the similar to their patient’s disease clinical picture.

The first problem is that you are based on the arbitrary allopathic concept of Disease instead of founding your research on the whole individual and on Illness. The second problem is that there are so many remedies and resembling pictures that you get lost. The third problem is that many of these pictures correspond to Acute Remedies and not to Chronic while the majority corresponds to Proving Pictures that don’t correspond to naturally existing illness/idiosyncrasies/remedies.

I believe that Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Diagnosis, the method that I have developed and apply the last 27 years is the most efficient –from what I know – method; a truly homeopathic method, a truly holistic method and most of all an effective method.

I must also remind you that applying Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Diagnosis isn’t enough in order to have an effective treatment. You must also follow the correct application of Universal/Homeopathic Laws in treatment. You have been taught this in details during your training and one can find all pertinent information in my book “Incidents during Homeopathic Treatment”.

There are some very important subjects during homeopathic treatment: Therapeutic Aggravation, Pharmaceutical Proving, Second Prescription, Selection of Potency, etc. In the same way that there are so many violations of Homeopathic Laws during diagnosis in the same way there are plenty of law violations during treatment.

5.20 So many violations…

122 -I am surprised by all these… especially from what you say that most homeopathic doctors practice the method of Repertorising. What about their therapeutic results? -You must take in consideration that things are severely screwed when you apply Repertorising for Chronic Illness. In the case of Acute Illness things aren’t so bad. So, these doctors have some considerable results in the treatment of Acute Illness/Acute Diseases or in relapses of Chronic Diseases. Most of the times, these results are better than the results of Allopathy and with the great advantage of no side effects on the part of Homeopathy. So, the patient is pleased and says: “Homeopathy really works!”

However, such a Repertorising doctor may treat a patient for years with considerable results in Acute Diseases yet his Chronic Predispositions won’t be cured and his psychological state may remain unaltered. Have you noticed that whenever a patient treated by other homeopathic doctors comes to me I always ask him: “Have your diseases improved? Do they keep coming back? What about your psychological state? Has it also improved?”

Many failures also come from the following method of treatment. The homeopathic doctor prescribes the similar idiosyncratic remedy and the patient improves significantly for some months. Then he starts deteriorating and instead of prescribing the remedy that is now similar to the patient, the doctor repeats the same remedy again and again “since it helped the patient in the past”.

For example, the patient was a Sulphur individual in the beginning and Sulphur 1M helped him a lot for some months. Then, due to circumstances, the patient started being influenced by another idiosyncrasy, i.e. Argentum Nitricum or Lycopodium or Phosphor. If you keep prescribing Sulphur 1M there will be no improvement.

123 Often, the doctor makes a more severe mistake. He has heard about “Herring’s Law”, he misinterprets it and starts prescribing with short intervals Sulphur 10M, Sulphur 50M and so on. Or he may give Sulphur 1M quite frequently, let’s say every week or even every day! If the patient is sensitive then he may develop a Pharmaceutical Proving of Sulphur as I have explained to you and as it is explained in details in the book “Incidents during Homeopathic Treatment”.

In some other cases the doctor prescribes a relative remedy instead of the similar one. For example the patient is an Argentum Nitricum subject and the doctor prescribes Sulphur. Due to relative nature the prescribed remedy does a palliation but not a cure. Then the doctor says to himself: “He did well; this is his simillimum! I will repeat Sulphur whenever his state relapses!”

That’s the reason why so many patients coming to me from other homeopathic doctors often say: “My doctor tried hard and I appreciate him but we weren’t lucky enough to find my remedy” or “It’s so hard to find your remedy!” or “I believe in Homeopathy, yet, it’s a difficult thing to find the similar remedy”.

This wrong impressions and notions are imposed to the patients by those homeopathic doctors that practice Repertorising. The therapeutic results of this method are poor and Homeopathic Diagnosis seems so difficult. Moreover, some doctors believe that there’s only one similar remedy for any patient for life! This notion is totally wrong and totally against any and all homeopathic laws!

5.21 Homeopathy is fascinating only when it’s actually Homeopathy! That’s the reason why I previously emphasized that Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Homeopathy is a combination of Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Case Taking, Miasmatic Materia Medica and correct application of

124 Homeopathic Laws in Diagnosis and Treatment. Always think of Laws as a valuable compass that can direct you to the right course and always use your clinical experience to confirm that your course is right.

During my homeopathic training I wasn’t taught many idiosyncrasies; only some of the polychrest. So I had to discover many idiosyncrasies through reading and clinical practice. I referred to many Materia Medica of classic masters of the past and there were so many differences and approaches. I said to myself again and again: “Who’s right and who’s wrong? How can I discriminate?”

Gradually, comparing theory and clinical practice, I confirmed that Kent was the one closer to truth and reality. Clinical practice helped me complete the picture of idiosyncrasies that I was partly taught and also helped me discover the essence and picture of idiosyncrasies that I haven’t been taught at all.

I am not saying that the picture of all Chronic Idiosyncrasies that I have in my mind and heart are totally right or complete. Life reveals new aspects all the time. Yet, when you have identified a Chronic Idiosyncrasy, when you have grasped its essence then you can talk for hours about it without the help of any book or notes.

Do you remember the time that I have lectured you on Chronic Idiosyncrasies? I didn’t have any book or notes in front of me although we have talked about each idiosyncrasy for at least one hour. Many times you kept asking: “How a person under the influence of this idiosyncrasy acts/behaves in this or that situation?” I kept answering promptly because I knew the essence of that idiosyncrasy and so I had a compass to lead me to the specific behavior. If you know the general you can imagine particulars.

125 Don’t think that this is some kind of magic ability. Let me tell you that if I ask you “How is your close friend/relative/child/companion going to behave in this or that situation?” then you will be able to give me a satisfying answer. This is happening because you have a very good picture of the essence and the whole of this person in your mind and heart. Something that can never be done ever by any Computer Expert System!

-What about people from different civilizations? Are these idiosyncratic pictures the same? -Primary Behavior stays the same, more or less, while Secondary Behavior varies. The same is true for different eras. For example, you watch an Ancient Greek Tragedy and it’s so easy to identify idiosyncrasies as if those plays were written nowadays. As if Man hasn’t changed and the same delusions burden mortals again and again in Eternity.

The same is true when you read the book of a foreign writer either of the same era or of a past era. If you focus on Primary Behavior you can always identify Idiosyncrasies but if you focus on Secondary Behavior you may get lost. Since Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Homeopathy helps you get acquainted primarily with Primary Behavior you can always see deeper and sort things out.

You see, Homeopathy is so fascinating, if of course it’s actually Homeopathy! If you turn Homeopathy into Allopathic “Homeopathy” by focusing on Disease then it stops being fascinating and moreover it stops being therapeutically effective. If you turn Homeopathy into Phytotherapy and prescribe a bunch of homeopathic remedies (Complex “Homeopathy” given simultaneously then it stops being fascinating and moreover it stops being effective.

126 If you turn Homeopathy into zodiac gossiping in the form of “weeps so give her Pulsatilla”, “aversion sex so give her Sepia” (Key-Note Prescribing) then all magic is gone and all therapeutic results are gone.

Let me give you an analogy. Nowadays, Acupuncture has been twisted in many ways. There’s Traditional Eastern Acupuncture that could be compared to Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Homeopathy since it obeys to laws and individualizes each case. And there’s Western Acupuncture which is Disease Oriented and could be compared to Disease-Oriented “Homeopathy”. What kind of Acupuncture is the one that for every patient with the same Disease you simply insert needles on acupuncture points 3, 16, 45, 72?

At times I have a look at the Training Program of several Homeopathic Associations. It’s mostly Repertorising, Acute Diseases and again Repertorising and Key-Note Prescribing and Acute Diseases. It has nothing to do with your training program in Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Homeopathy.

Let me remind you that we have dealt with Repertorising only for an hour or so at the last lecture of a series of 25 two-hour lectures. In fact, we talked about Repertorising for Acute Illness only, and moreover, we spend much time in criticizing its use in Chronic Illness.

Our training program consisted of theoretical and practical training bind together in one unity. The first hour of lectures was about Homeopathic Philosophy and the second one was the description of a Chronic Idiosyncrasy. We spent practical training of the first three lectures describing the three idiosyncrasies that are characteristic representatives of three Miasms (Natrum Muriaticum – Psoric, Medorhinum – Sycotic, Lachesis – Syphilitic). Then we went on describing the rest of Chronic Idiosyncrasies always focusing on their essence, miasmatic and

127 idiosyncratic characteristics, psychological profile and general physical symptoms.

Less frequent and important Chronic Idiosyncrasies were left last. I never described any Acute Idiosyncrasy to you, as you well remember. I just told you that you could read all about it in Kent’s Materia Medica where they are prescribed pretty well.

5.22 Energy similarity of the Homeopathic Remedy to a Naturally Existing Illness In Homeopathy everything depends on the selection of similar remedy, the selection of simillimum. Simillimum is the homeopathic remedy that, from an energy point of view, is the most similar to the, each time, idiosyncratic etheric disorder of the individual.

Since there’s no valid energy method, yet, to measure idiosyncratic etheric disorder of the individual and then prescribe the homeopathic remedy that has the same “wavelength” we are obliged to go sideways. We observe specific symptoms (Acute Illness) and specific characteristics (Chronic Illness) of the patient and form a Clinical Picture of the Whole. Then we search for the similar picture in Proving Pictures of several crude substances. We take “similar” crude substance and turn it into an energy homeopathic remedy through procedure of Potentization and then give it to the patient.

If we administer to a patient a “homeopathic remedy” that doesn’t correspond to a Naturally Existing Illness/Naturally Existing Idiosyncrasy/Naturally Existing Etheric Disorder then this won’t be homeo-pathic (similar) and it won’t act therapeutically. There are so many raw materials that can be used to create Proving Pictures/Artificial Illness/Laboratory Poisonings that do not correspond to Naturally Existing Illness.

128

In reality, of the many thousands of “homeopathic remedies” included into Materia Medica and Repertories only a small percentage of few hundred are actually genuine homeopathic remedies that can treat homeopathically Chronic and Acute Illness. I am fully aware that this is a shocking declaration both for homeopathic doctors and patients! Yet, I believe that this is “the truth, the sole truth and nothing but the truth, so help me God!”

Truth is often bitter yet at the same time is liberating! It’s bitter because it unmasks our delusions and it forces us to change. On the other hand, Truth is liberating because it brings us back to reality. In Science it is only by dealing with reality that we can have therapeutic results. There’s no other way!

The closer we are to Truth, the closer we are to Reality, the closer we are to Balance, Health and Happiness, the closer we are to God. The farther we are from Truth the closer we are from Delusion, the closer we are to Imbalance, Illness and Misery, the farther we are from God.

5.23 Towards a new, Clinically Proved Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Materia Medica All Proving Pictures that don’t correspond to Naturally Existing Idiosyncrasies/Natural Illness/Etheric Disorders should be taken out of all Homeopathic Materia Medica and Repertories. They should be enlisted only in books called “Proving Pictures”.

Only Proving Pictures that correspond to Naturally Existing Idiosyncrasies/Natural Illness/Etheric Disorders should be included in Homeopathic Materia Medica and Repertories and should be called “homeopathic remedies”. This tremendous change would spare the minds

129 of homeopathic doctors of a tremendous burden and would make their job easier and more effective.

Any Clinically Proven Materia Medica and especially Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Materia Medica should include only Chronic Idiosyncrasies and secondarily Acute Idiosyncrasies.

5.24 At what level/levels of Etiological Chain of Illness acts each “homeopathic” method of diagnosis? Disease-Oriented Diagnosis, Repertorising, Key-Note Prescribing and Computer Expert Systems most of the times lead to the selection of an Acute Homeopathic Remedy and thus help the patient overcome Acute Illness.

Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Diagnosis always focuses on diagnosis of Chronic Idiosyncrasy and treats Chronic Illness by the use of Chronic Homeopathic Remedies. Even when the patient comes to the doctor with an Acute Illness on progress the doctor first prescribes an Acute Homeopathic Remedy and immediately after the return to the State of Chronic Illness he administers the Chronic Remedy corresponding to it. This results to the elimination of Chronic Predispositions and Miasmatic and Idiosyncratic Influences which is done after a long treatment during which several Chronic Remedies may be administered successively. The final therapeutic result is the ultimate.

A correct homeopathic treatment lasting from 6 to 12 months give or take, may gradually produce the following therapeutic results even from the first days of the treatment: 1. 2. 3. 4.

Obliteration of Acute Symptoms Significant improvement of General Physical State Significant improvement of Psychological State Improvement or complete cure of Chronic Diseases

130 5. Decrease of Chronic Predispositions 6. Decrease of Miasmatic and Idiosyncratic Influences 7. Reduced Hereditary Burden to descendants

From the above we conclude that Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Treatment can act even on primary levels of Etiological Chain of Illness and that’s the reason why it has such deep, wide and more permanent therapeutic results.

It’s obvious that any therapeutic result depends also on many individual factors like: Degree of Chronic Predispositions, severity of anatomical lesions and functional disorder, state of Etheric Body, way of life, previous chemical pharmaceutical treatments, previous surgery, positive thinking and attitude, moral attitude, present actions, family and social environment, etc.

Disease-Oriented Diagnosis or Complex “Homeopathy”, both have none or mild therapeutic results since they usually fail to prescribe the simillimum and so fail to act on energy level of Etiological Chain of Illness. To be honest, I don’t consider these methods as homeopathic since they violate all Homeopathic Laws. You see, if you employ homeopathic remedies according to Allopathic Laws, you certainly have nothing to do with Homeopathy in the same way that you don’t play basketball if you use a basket ball to play football.

Repertorising, Key-Note Prescribing and Computer Expert Systems are lost in the labyrinth of Repertory and the chaos of Recording Materia Medica. They usually don’t end up in selecting the simillimum so they don’t act on Etheric Level of Etiological Chain of Illness. If they manage to select a relative to the simillimum remedy then they act on the Etheric Level, yet in a mild way and so they can offer only a palliation of symptoms.

131

If a remedy similar to Acute Illness is selected then we will have a successful overcome of Acute Illness and therapeutic results 1, 2 and even 3 of the above table of therapeutic results may be achieved. In some occasions that the simillimum to Chronic Illness is prescribed then results 1, 2, 3 and even 4 may be achieved.

Yet, in order to achieve the more significant goals of 5, 6 and 7, one successful prescription and treatment for one or some months isn’t enough. Only long correct Miasmatic and Idiosyncratic Treatment can provide ultimate and lasting results.

132

EPILOQUE

Some readers of this book could be disappointed not only from the state of Medicine nowadays but also from the state of Homeopathic Practice. I can understand their reaction since most of homeopathic doctors, despite their good intentions, are lost while using wrong “homeopathic” methods of prescribing.

Nevertheless, even by the use of these inappropriate methods, usual homeopathic treatment has better therapeutic results than contemporary allopathic treatment. What’s more it has no side effects. Just think how great results would be if most homeopathic doctors practiced true Homeopathy, i.e. Miasmatic Idiosyncratic Homeopathy!

However, I believe that I have long ago got over the delusion that, all of a sudden, Medicine and Homeopathy will radically become rational, natural and effective. That would presuppose the sudden, radical change of Humanity from delusion and disorder to truth and order. Whenever we attempt to generalize from the individual level to the social level, delusion sneaks in. If a doctor surrenders to such social delusions then he will usually develop a Messianic Syndrome.

My personal experience – which I believe is according to Universal Laws and Truth – is that the path of any doctor or patient is a clearly individual path. Any individual is but a certain Individual Psyche with specific past and its mission is primarily to evolve itself and secondarily others or Society. Quite often, focusing on the alteration of others/society is the most devious delusion that leads us far away from “Know thyself”.

133 Consequently, each doctor must try to become a better doctor and each patient must try to choose a better therapeutic system and a better doctor in order to stop being a patient.

Moreover, doctors and patients, should actively adopt a more natural way of living at all levels of existence, out of a holistic point of view, in order to become more healthy and more happy; closer to Nature and closer to God!
