Pre-installation requirement 2.4.1

To obtain tile sample i.a.w. construction drawings and contract’s specification and submit to Architect for approval. 2.4.2

To ensure all wall and floor surfaces in eveness, verticality and squareness of all angles. 2.4.3

No tiles shall be laid until the base surface is completely dry, clean and free of loose materials to provide a good keyed surface to receive the tiling. 2.4.4

Provide sufficient level pegs to control the verticality, thickness and alignment of wall and floor screeding. 2.4.5

All tiles shall be dampened before fixing. 2.4.6

Cement and sand mortar mix 1:3 2.4.7

Ensure waterproofing have been completed and ponding tested. 2.5

Execution of work (A) Wall Tiles 1.6.1 Brickwall to be clean from all dusts and dirts. 1.6.2 Setting out alignment, levels and verticality by using level pegs. 1.6.3 Plastering (backing) to brickwall with cement and sand mortar 1:3 1.6.4 The backing shall be allow to set and fully cured. 1.6.5 Selected ceramic wall tiles shall be used and soaked in water until fully saturated. 1.6.6 Fixing of wall tiles shall then be done from lowest level upwards and in a continuous manner. 1.6.7 Allow openings for all M&E services within the tiled areas. 1.6.8 Ensure that all tile joints shall be 1-2mm wide and be consistent throughout. 1.6.9 Joints shall be applied with white cement. TILE JOINTS SEALED COMPLETION

(B) Floor Tiles 2.5.1

All floor shall be clean from debris, dusts and dirts. 2.5.2

Use string marker to mark the control levels on all four walls (for rooms without wall tiles). 2.5.3

Provide level pegs to control the levels at 1.2 mm center to center. 2.5.4

Cement screed the floor with cement and sand mortar mix 1:3 to 2% fall to floor trap. 2.5.5

Allow all cement screed to be fully set and cured. 2.5.6

Take the permanent features (such as long wall) to provide the X-Y axis base line and marked with string marker. 2.5.7

Selected non-slip ceramic floor tiles shall then be laid with cement paste applied on the base using wet method of laying. 2.5.8

Ensure that the tile joints shall be 3-4mm maximum wide and all joints shall be consistent. 2.5.9

Ensure fall in wet areas like kitchen and toilets must be towards the floor traps or discharge points(2% fall gradient). 2.5.10

All gaps shall then be fully filled. 2.6

Point of inspection and checking and their frequency: 2.6.1 Ensure concrete surfaces clean and free from dust and dirt. 2.6.2 Setting out alignment, levels, gradient, verticality will be correct. 2.6.3 Tile size, thickness, evenness, squareness shall be checked correctly. 2.6.4 Joints are aligned and consistent with skirting and wall tiles. 2.6.5 Check squareness, vertically of boxing up. 2.6.6 Check tiling around door & window frame / openings. 2.6.7 Ensure wall & floor tile joints are in line & consistent in thickness. 2.6.8 Ensure door opening drop to be 25 mm. 2.6.9 Ensure 2% flow towards floor trap. 2.6.10 Ensure dimension coordination at
