Storage temperature is not critical as long as dry conditions are maintained. Packing Damaged Fire proofing material shall be discarded.

6.3 Application Procedure: Fireproofing material will be FENDOLITE MII. The Fire rating for the above material shall be 2 (two) Hours, for an application thickness of 50 mm thk. 6.3.1 Surface Preparation: Prior to application of Keycoat, the paint system shall be check for compatibility incase of materials selected other than in-situ dence / light weight concrete as per Claus 10.1.5 of KOC-C-027 Rev 2 No field welding shall be carried out on skirts or legs of any equipment without prior approval from company. Substrate surfaces shall be inspected thoroughly prior to application. Surface must be free from contamination, mud ,cracking, loose paint or conditions likely to impair adhesion of the Fendolite MII. To apply one coat of 50 micron keycoat PSK 101 over already primed surface. This coat will function as sealer before application of Fendolite MII. The reinforcement of 50 mm x 50 mm x 1.6 mm plastic coated wire mesh shall be fixed or held in position on stud already welded by vessel manufacturer at vessel skirts and secured with washers. The reinforcing mesh must be positioned so as to lie substantially within mid third of the applied Fendolite MII thickness. Reinforcement installation shall be complying with Company standard KOC-C-027. Anchor bolts shall be coated with grease prior to applying fire proofing as per KOC-C-027. 6.3.2 Mixing and Application: Fireproofing material Fendolite MII manufactured by M/s. Promat Fire Protection LLC (formerly M/s. Cafco International, UK / M/s. Mandoval Coatings Ltd., UK) is premixed at the factory and it is only necessary to mix it with water to a pumpable consistency. Bags of pre-mixed vermiculite cement shall be kept dry until ready for use.Stored off the ground under cover and way from wet or damp surfaces or areas of high humidity. The pre-mix shall be used within six momnths of manufacture. One 20 kg bag of Fendolite MII requires approx. 15 to 19 litres of water to obtain the correct consistency. Mixing time in the mechanical mixer is 3 minutes minimum to ensure correct property of the mix. The vermiculite cement shall be mixed to the specific quantity required and no further water shall be added to make the mix more workable. The wet mix shall be applied by spraying, machine based on mono pump of speed in the range of 100 - 600 rpm upto 15 mm thick for each coat, to have a total thickness of 50 mm (2 hours fire rating). It is important that the preceding coats if any should be well scratched to ensure good bonding. The final finished surface of Fendolite MII will be lightly trowelled to have a reasonably smooth finish. Air pressure should not be more than 2 bar at the nozzle. No rebound materials shall be used. The applicator should be approved by the Manufacturer having minimum three years of experience with profound track record. 6.3.3 Curing: Curing shall be done similar to curing of any concrete~ procedure by which the applied fireproofing material is kept damp / wet for atleast 4 days.
