PURPOSE The purpose of this statement is to describe the quality control procedure to be followed during installation of Conduit System for electrical Wiring and LC Cables at JIGCC Package 06 and specify the health and safety measures needed to control during installation. CHEC will follow the content and method described in this Method statement.

2.

SCOPE OF WORK This method statement describes the work execution plan for the installation of Metallic raceways and their accessories in conjunction with the Electrical Boxes installation at JIGCC Package 06 and to ensure that all works / activities are in full compliance with Project Specifications, Aramco standards and Approved Drawings. Types of raceway are as follow:

4: RESPONSIBILITIES OF MANAGEMENT The Metallic Raceways and boxes installation is directly under the supervision of the site electrical engineer who reports directly to the construction manager. Site Construction Manager (CM): He is responsible primarily in planning the job, directing, overseeing and ensuring the satisfactory progress of on-site construction activities with agreed deadlines and project specifications as well as handle any issues that would arise during the execution of the job. The CM will report directly to the Site Project Manager for controlling site activities. QA/QC Inspector: QA/QC Inspector will report to the QA/QC Manager and he is responsible for the implementation of project quality plan and insuring to maintain and effectiveness of the project quality systems. Site Electrical Engineers: Site Electrical Engineer will report to the CM and are responsible for the day to day planning and supervision as well as implementing the technical requirements, dimensions, and measurements related to the execution of work and equipment preparation. Surveyor: Surveyor will report to the CM and Site Engineers, also responsible in determining the precise location, distances, directions and elevation of points, lines and contours of important features in the survey area. Records the results of surveys and verify the accuracy of data, prepares plots for documentation.

Safety Supervisor/Officers: Shall coordinate to the CM and provides safety guidance and advice from commencement of activities until completion. He will also raise all safety related issues observed at the work site to CM for compliance. Foreman: (1) The foreman will carry out his duties by maintaining continuous coordination with the site engineer on daily basis, and ensure proper distribution of the workforce in the required and planned locations. (2)

To ensure that his assistant foreman/ charge hand are aware of the job requirements and they have enough information to carry out their duties properly.

(3) To ensure in consultation with the site engineer that the manpower involved in the works are moving as agreed and planned for the work. (4)

To ensure that the daily work is progressing as planned and advice the site engineer of any requirement for additional resources.

(5) To control disposal of waste materials according to the instructions received from the site engineer. (6) To ensure full coordination with the safety officer to maintain safe working and proper housekeeping of the site, following the approved safety measures and further ensure that all his working team are aware of the same to prevent accident and losses. (7) To inform the site engineer and of the areas ready for inspection. (8) Distribution and the control of material shall be monitored by foreman and store keeper. Store Keeper Storekeeper shall inspect materials delivered for any damage and/ or discrepancy before advising QA/ QC for inspection. He shall be responsible for proper storage of the materials received on site.

05. INSTALLATION METHODOLOGY 5.1 Material Delivery, Handling & Storage

5.1.1: All material including Metallic Conduit and its accessories will be off-loaded from a trailer and shall be placed on a flat surface or on wooden stacks and shall be inspected for any damage, oxidization on Metallic items and will be removed from the site for replacement.

5.1.2:All the accessories will be hand unloaded . 5.1.3: Rigid steel conduit can be stored outside, but should be loosely stacked, elevated off the ground, and ventilated to prevent storage stain. 5.1.5: Small accessories should be stored inside to prevent loss.

5.1.6: Conduit should be stored away from high-traffic areas. 5.1.7: Conduit should be stacked by width and type. 5.1.8: PVC coated conduit must be protected from scratching during storage and shifting. 5.2: Work Preparation Before the commencement of installation, the following are required to be carried out.

5.2.1: Check the drawings are issued with “Approved for Construction” status, in accordance with document control procedures. 5.2.2:Check the site access to the work area for installation is available, that the works area is clean, safe and that the temporary services provisions are available. 5.2.3: Confirm that all Materials and accessories have been delivered and inspected as per ITP before starting the work. 5.2.4: Provide labor, materials, equipment & services, and perform operations required for complete installation and related work as indicated on the approved drawing. 5.2.5: The skilled and labourer doing the installation work shall have undergone safety orientation and shall have been familiarized with the procedures related to their works. 5.2.6: Keep all the tools, material and safety equipment(s) ready.

5.3:Installation of Rigid Steel and PVC Coated Galvanized Rigid Steel Conduit & Box Installation . Channel erector system components (Unistrut or similar) will be used to support the Conduit and boxes.

No conduit smaller than 20mm in diameter or larger than 32mm diameter shall be used. 5.3.1:RSC conduits & metallic boxes shall be used for exposed installation inside Building for lighting, power, low current systems including fire alarm systems. *All raceways shall be properly cut square and reamed smooth at the ends and all joint made tight. Cut ends of conduit with hand or power saw. *Make bends and offset will be skillfully done so that the inside diameter will not be reduced. *For overhead installations beyond the comfortable and safe reach of workers, provide approved ladders or erect sufficient and safe scaffolds *Install and seal raceways in accordance with approved shop drawings. *Surface of the raceways shall be checked for any dents prior to installation. * 8.14 Apply coat of protective paint to conduits where protective coating is damaged. Do not paint conduit threads.

5.3.2:All underground, outside, in concrete and risers from underground runs will be rigid steel PVC coated conduit will be install or what so ever shown on site approved drawings.

5.3.3: Use only manufactures recommended methods and tools for installation of PVC coated conduits. Any PVC coating showing scratches and/or indentations due to improper installation will be replaced. 5.3.4: Check the drawings for approved type and size of conduit to be installed. 5.3.5: All couplings and connectors shall be threaded.

5.3.6: Check on approved drawings for the route axis of the raceway. 5.3.7: Mark on the working surface by using chalk line the route of the raceways. 5.3.8: Determine the location of the junction boxes and pull boxes as shown on the approve drawings. * 6.13 Conductors shall not be spliced in pull boxes except when approved in writing by the Engineer or where shown in drawings using approved splicing methods. * 6.15 Box covers shall be in place and completely secured to the box 5.3.9: Drill in the slab or the walls for the marked fixation holes for the Channel supports by using the proper size of drill bit. 5.3.10: Insert the Push in anchor in drill hole. 5.3.11: Insert the Proper size of screw in Push in anchor to fix the channel on surface of roof or wall as shown on approved drawing. 5.3.12: Complete all the Channel support installation.

5.3.13: Fix the conduits on the Channel with universal strut clamp.

5.3.14: Connect the conduit together by screwing threaded coupling onto the threaded end of the conduit and tighten with proper tools.

5.3.15: Rigid Steel conduits are the hardest raceways to bend by hand because they have a much thicker and harder wall. ½” and ¾” rigid or IMC can be bent by hand using a hickey bender (or segment bender) .Large sizes of raceways can be bent with hydraulic benders.

5.3.16: Use set threaded connector to connect the conduit to the side wall of the junction box or pull box. Verify that conduit bushing are installed in the boxes and seated properly. Conduit enters a box, fitting, or other enclosure, a bushing shall be provided to protect the wire from abrasion unless the design of the box, fitting, or enclosure is such as to afford equivalent protection.

5.3.17:If there is needed more then one Box use the box spacer .

5.3.18:Fix the Box on Wall with PVC Push in anchoer and tight with the proper size & type of screw .

5.319:Conduit entry to Panle , Junction Box etc will be fix with lock nut and union as in below figure .

5.3.20: Conduits shall be installed in parallel to each other and with uniform spacing throughout the installations.

5.3.21: Keep Conduit away from water supply pipes, steam pipes. 5.3.22:Where conduits are left "open ended" prior to wiring caps or plugs to prevent the ingress of building materials shall protect them. 5.3.23: Use the approved flexible connectors to connect the conduits at building expansion joints.

5.3.24:Bends in conduit shall be made so that the conduit will not be damaged and the internal diameter of the conduit will not be effectively reduced. 5.3.25: All the racewyas , their fittings and boxes will be grounded according to site standard and approved drawings. 5.4: Installation of Liquid tight Flexible Metallic Conduit (LFMC): 5.4.1: LFMC shall be used at the final connection to items subject to movement or vibration, such as mentioned on approved drawings and project specifications.

5.4.2: Terminate and seal liquid tight flexible metal conduit to box or enclosure or Electrical Drive Connection Box. Connectors can be used with tapered thread female entry or unthreaded knockout using the provided sealing washer and locknut.

5.4.3: All materials which are going to be installed for this type of system should be approved for this purpose. 5.4.4: A roller cutter is recommended to cut the watertight conduits, since this will the cut square.
