Working as a ‘’Mechanical Design Engineer” in Manufacturing Business Area that covers three fabrication shops i.e. Lahore Manufacturing Works, Karachi Manufacturing Works Pakistan and Hamriyah Manufacturing Works Sharjah, U.A.E., therefore as a member of shared resources I am having a vast experience of working with both national and international contractors and clients.
Responsibilities Include:
Detail Mechanical Engineering and Design Calculations of Pressure Vessels according to ASME SEC. VIII DIV. 1 & 2 using CODEWARE COMPRESS and PV ELITE for fabrication in workshop. Linear and nonlinear finite element analysis of different mechanical components in pressure vessels. Detail mechanical engineering of heat exchangers according to TEMA using CODEWARE COMPRESS and PV-ELITE for the fabrication.
Strength calculations and engineering of internal and external attached welded or bolted parts of above mentioned equipment. Proposal stage preliminary design of the pressure vessels storage tanks and heat exchangers at the bidding stage for proposal and estimation with the hit rate of more than 70%. Study of client specifications and standards. Development of spreadsheet calculations which is not covered by any software. Participation in kick off meetings and weekly project health review meetings to optimize the project schedules. Participate in meetings with client if necessary for design point of view. Detail checking of AutoCAD drawings such as general arrangement drawing, parts detail drawings, BOM, mechanical design data and compliance of drawings with design calculations, code and client’s standard. Suggestions to clients for more economical, easy for fabrication design as per codes, specifications and standards. Working experience with World’s renowned EPCs such as Saipem, Worley Parsons, GS E&C, Dodsal, Hatch, Technip, Hyundai, Samsung Engineering, Fluor, Punj Lloyd, Chiyoda, Technimont, CCC, Seko, Frames, John Zink, Target Engineering, Pall Corporation, Callidus UOP and John Zink, Bellelli Energy.
PROJECTS HANDLED 1)
Client: Engro Fertilizers Limited Pakistan Project: Wet Gas Filters For Ghotki Plant. Role: Design Engineer. Working as design engineer, this equipment was a three phase separator, and was designed as per ASME Section VIII Div. 1, as well as U-Stamped by Authorized ASME Inspector.

Client: Fauji Fertilizers Corporation (FFC), Pakistan. Project: 4th Inter-stage Knockout Vessel for CO2 Compressor, For FFC-III. Role: Design Engineer. This Vessel was designed as a high pressure moderate temperature, made of SS-304L and a BEU Type Exchanger was coupled at the Inlet nozzle of this vessel, this Separator was designed as per ASME Section VIII Div. 1 and specifications of Snemprogetti. Project: Distillation Column for FFC Goth Machi Plant. Role: Design Engineer. The Design of this column was based on ASME Section VIII Div. 1 and as well as U-Stamped, and specifications of Snemprogetti was followed as supplementary requirement, total elevation of this column was 55 meters and inside diameter was 3500 mm approx. with having very complex internal support configuration for bubble cap trays. Project: Slug Catcher for FFC. Role: Design Engineer. 01 No. of high pressure moderate temperature vessel working as slug catcher, material was NACE MR0175 compliant and was designed as per ASME Section VIII Div. 1 as well as design, drawings and Fabrication was reviewed by authorized inspector.

EPC. PDIL Pakistan. Role: Design Engineer.
09 Nos. of code stamped vessel such as knock out drums, decanting vessels, slop vessels, LPG storage vessels and oil storage vessels of CS material designed as per ASME Section VIII Div. 1, and specifications of PDIL. 03 Nos. LPG storage vessels were designed on ASME Section VIII Div. 1, and EEMUA 190–2000, a saddle less mounded Design. FEA for the foundation saddles for finger type slug catcher.
Project: Makori East-III, Manzalai-10 Development Project.
03 Nos. of moderate pressure vessels designed as per ASME Section VIII Div. 1, such as Slop Oil Vessel, Instrument Gas Scrubbers, KO Drums etc., with having U-Stamped material of construction was NACE MR 0175 compliant.

Client: OMV, Pakistan. Role: Design Engineer. Project: Air Coolers, Analysis of Supports and Skids for Various Gas Fields. 24 Nos. pressure vessels of sour gas conditioning unit and corrosion inhibitor skids for LATIF 5,6,7,9 and SAQIB-3 wellheads were designed as per Section VIII Div. 1, and OMV Specifications also the material of construction was NACE MR 0175 Compliant. Static load analysis of saddle support for finger type slug catcher using Ansys. 02 Nos. air coolers design as per Appendix-14 (non circular pressure vessels) of Section VIII Div. 1 and the material of construction was SS 304 L.

Client: MPCL, Pakistan. EPC. PDIL, Pakistan. Project: Sujjawal and Halini-X1 Gas Fields. Role: Design Engineer. 02 Nos. of high pressure and moderate temperature three phase separators designed as per ASME Section VIII Div. 1, material of construction was comply to NACE MR 0175, drawings design calculations, fabrication and hydro test was witnessed and reviewed by ASME Authorized Inspector. 01 Nos. of 2 phase separator designed according to ASME BPVC, and this vessel was inspected by client itself.

Client: Attock Refinery Limited, Pakistan. EPC: Hyundai Engineering Corporation, Korea. Project: Attock Refinery Up gradation Project. Role: Design Engineer. 10 Nos. of columns designed on the basis of ASME Section VIII Division 1, the main units includes AMUamine sweetening unit, HDS- hydrodesulphurization, ISM- isomerization unit, and SRU sulphur recovery unit, all pressure vessels are U-Stamped and in sour service. The fabrication of this project has partially done in Hamriyah Manufacturing works, Sharjah UAE. 12 Nos. of vessels are under revamping project and therefore they are R-Stamped. 02 Nos. of high pressure vessels designed on ASME Section VIII Div. 2. With having shell thickness 110 mm.

Client: Fatima Fertilizer, Pakistan. EPC: Descon Engineering Limited, Pakistan. Project: Design of 4 pass AES type Gas cooler. Role: Lead Design Engineer. Mechanical design of 02 numbers of shell and tube heat exchanger shall be AES type complied on ASME Section th VIII Div. 1 API 660 and TEMA 9 Edition.

Role: Lead Design Engineer. 16 Nos. of Pressure vessels and 04 No. of columns such as reactors, accumulators, injectors, sumps strippers, Amine regenerators, Isomerization Unit and receivers of CS material with Hydrogen Service, Caustic and Cyclic service and high criticality in material selection. 10 Nos. of shell and tube Heat Exchangers for 5000 BPSD PANAX Unit ( UOP proprietary item), 05 of them were th AEU type and 05 of them were BEU type designed as per ASME Section VIII Division 1, TEMA 9 Edition and client specifications.
Client: RAS Gas Company Limited. EPC: Chiyoda Almana UAE. Project: Flow Assurance Project. Role: Lead Design Engineer. 03 Nos. of pressure vessels designed as per ASME BPVC Code (Division 1), for compressed Instrument air and compressed nitrogen, and these equipment are U-Stamped.
10) Client: Attock Refinery Limited, Pakistan. EPC: Hyundai Engineering Limited, Korea. Project: ARL UPGRADATION PROJECT. Role: Lead Design Engineer. Total 47 Nos. of pressure vessels designed on the basis of ASME Section VIII Division 1 and 2, the main units includes AMU- Amine sweetening Unit, HDS- Hydrodesulphurization, ISM- Isomerization Unit, SRU- Sulphur Recovery Unit, All of the Pressure Vessels are U-Stamped and In Sour Service. Fabrication of this project was done in Sharjah shop.
11) Client Abu Dhabi Polymers Company Limited (Borouge) , Rawais UAE EPC: DESCON Engineering, UAE. Project: Borouge PO Flare Gas Recovery Project Role: Lead Design Engineer 08 Nos. of total vessels to be designed as per ASME codes and company standards, all of them are U-Stamped. 17 Nos. of shell and tube heat exchangers of both straight tubes with fixed tube sheets and U tubes type exchangers and designed as per ASME Section VIII Division 1, TEMA 9th Edition, and API 660 as well as client specification. 02 Nos. of double pipe heat exchangers designed on ASME Section VIII Div. 1. 12) Client: Pakistan Petroleum Limited. EPC: Exterran UAE, PDIL Pakistan. Project: Adhi III Expansion Project. Role: Lead Design Engineer. Mechanical design of 05 nos. of shell and tube heat exchangers, 02 of them are AES., 02 of them are BEU type exchanger all of them shall complied to API 660, TEMA 9th edition and ASME section VIII div. 1 as well as Ustamped. And 01 of them is DES type heat exchanger having a special mono bloc front channel and S-type floating Head. 13) Client: ADMA EPCC: Technip-NPCC Consortium. Project: UMM LULU PHASE II FULL FIELD DEVELOPMENT PROJECT PACKAGE 2. Role: Lead Design Engineer. Mechanical design and fabrication of 10 Nos. of pressure vessels as per ASME Section VIII Div. 1, client specification and BP-Standards. All of these pressure vessels are to be installed on floating deck therefore also performed a calculation for the weld joint between saddles and deck to withstand the loads of vessel in wind. Applicable wind loads are as per API 2 RP WSD therefore another calculation sheet was developed to calculate wind applicable pressure on the vessels.
