General Information Foreword

Reception

About the unit

These owner manual are given as a guide to good practice in the operation and periodic maintenance by the users of Trane Hi-wall mini-split systems. They do not contain the full service procedures necessary for the continued successful operation of this equipment. The services of a qualified service technician should be employed, through the medium of a maintenance contract with a reputable service company. Read them completely before doing anything with your air conditioning system.

On arrival, inspect the unit before signing the delivery note. Specify any damage on the delivery note, and send a registered letter of protest to the last carrier of the goods within 72 hours of delivery. Notify the local sales office at the same time. The unit should be totally inspected within 7 days of delivery. If any concealed damage is discovered, send a registered letter of protest to the carrier within 7 days of delivery and notify the local sales office. Units are shipped with the refrigerant operating or holding charge and should be examined with an eletronic leak detector to determine the hermetic integrity of the unit. The refrigerant charge is not included in the standard Warranty Cover.

These units are assembled, pressure tested, dehydrated, charged and run tested before shipment.

Warranty Warranty is based on the general terms and conditions of the constructor. The warranty is void if the equipment is modified or repaired without the written approval of the constructor, if the operating limits are exceeded, or if the control system or the electrical wiring is modified. Damage due to misuse, lack of maintenance, or failure to comply with the manufacturer’s instructions, is not covered by the warranty obligation. If the user does not conform to the rules described in the manual, it may entail cancellation of warranty and liabilities by the Trane company.

Refrigerant The refrigerant provided by the constructor meets all the requirements of our units. When using recycled or reprocessed refrigerant, it is advisable to ensure its quality is equivalent to that of a new refrigerant. For this, it is necessary to have a precise analysis made by a specialized laboratory. If this condition is not respected, the constructor warranty could be cancelled.

Avoid increase of cooling load due to sunlight.

Ground wiring: Ground wire shall be connected to the exclusive device properly, if not availble, speciallist shall be employeed to install. Grounding pole of socket shall be grounding wired reliably, breaker and air switch (15A) with enough capability shall be installed in fixed lines. Never connect the grounding wire to gas pipe, water pipe and grounding wire of lightening rod or telephone equipment.

Set the most appropriate temperature. It can save the energy.

Keep room cooler than outside about 50c

Don’t leave windows and doors open while operating the air conditioner for a long time. It can decrease the air conditioning capacity.

To adjust the air direction. When the unit is running, adjust the air discharge louver vertically by setting the remote control, adjust the air direction horizontaly by adjusting the horizontal Louver manually. The louvers can be adjusted downward at heating operation, and upward at cooling operation to maximize the heating/cooling effect.

Troubleshooting

Before requesting service, perform the following checks.

Trouble type Waitting

OFF

Troubleshooting

Indoor unit does not operate immediately when the air conditioner is restarted.

Once the air conditioner is stopped, it will not operate in approximately 3 minutes to protect itself.

There’s unusual smell blowing from the outlet after operation is started.

This is caused by the odors in the room which have been breathed into the air conditioner.

Sound of water flow can be heard during operation.

This is caused by the refrigerant flowing inside the unit.

Mist is emitted during cooling operation.

Because room air is cooled down rapidly by the cold air flow and it looks like the fog.

Creaking noise can be heard when start or stop the unit.

This is caused by the deformation of plastic due to the temperature change.

Air conditioner does not operate at all.

Has the power been shut down? Is the wiring loose? Is the leakage protection switch activated? Is voltage higher than 244V or lower than 206V? Is TIMER ON in operation?

Cooling (Heating) efficiency is not good.

Is SET TEMP. suitable? Is air inlet or outlet obstructed? Are air filters dirty? Is indoor fan speed set at low speed? Is there any other heat sourse in your room?

OFF

Wireless remote controll does not work properly.

MCW - SVU03A - E4

Downloaded from www.Manualslib.com manuals search engine

Is the remote control out of effective distance to the indoor unit? Replace the worn batteries of the wireless remote controll. Are there any obstructions between the wireless remote controll and the signal receiver? 21

Immediately stop all operations and plug out, contact with a contracted service agency of TRANE in following situations: Unusual noise can be heard during operation. Power fuse or switch often breaks. Carelessly splash water or something into air conditioner. Electrical cables and power plug are very hot. Air flow blowing from the outlet smells terrible during operation. Leakage occur in indoor unit.
