About MUFC (Manchester United Football Club) Manchester United Football Club is an English football club, based at Old Trafford Football Ground located just outside the city boundaries of Manchester. The club was formed as Newton Heath F.C. in 1878. After nearing bankruptcy in 1902, the club was taken over by J.H. Davies who changed its name to Manchester United. United appointed Sir Matt Busby as manager after the Second World War, and his then-unheard-of policy of producing most of the players through the club's youth team brought great success, with the club winning the Football League in 1956 and 1957. This success was halted by the Munich air disaster of 1958, in which eight of the club's players died. It was thought that the club might fold, but instead went on to win the football league in 1965 and 1967, and the European Cup in 1968.
Old Trafford (the ground) Old Trafford Football Stadium (given the nickname The Theatre of Dreams by Bobby Charlton) is the home of Manchester United F.C. . Located in the borough of Trafford in Greater Manchester, it has been United's home since 1910. Until the new Wembley Stadium is completed Old Trafford will have the largest ground capacity of any English football stadium, currently holding 76,000 spectators.

The TREBLE Thanks to Sir Alex great coaching skills and Man Utd’s phenomenal class of ‘99, they were the first and yet only football team to win the UEFA Champions League, FA Premier League and the FA Cup in the same season (also known as the TREBLE).
The Red Tribe ‚Come On,
You REDS‛
The Malcolm Glazer takeover In May 2005, Mr Glazer bought a controlling stake, for $1.47 billion, in English football team Manchester United following a nearly year-long takeover battle. The takeover was fiercely opposed by fans of Manchester United, principally due to Glazer's presumed lack of interest in football as a sport and the amount of debt to be taken on by the previously debt-free club. The Glazer Family allow the coaches and general managers of the club to run the football matters, while they handle the financing behind the scenes.
