PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE Administrative Effectively supervised up to 100 staff members. o Hired, coached, and retained staff at all levels. Developed and managed several corporate contracts for external company services where the contracted company came on-site to deliver needed services. o This included oversight of the contracted personnel. Successfully planned for a new department constructed in existing shell space from design to full operation. o Developed project plan, requisitioned equipment within budget plan, and set up and followed through on move-in logistics to make transition successful. Planned for additional surgical services of cardiac and neurological surgery, including purchasing necessary instrumentation. Communication Developed and lead a team with Xerox, Information Systems, and Materials Management that carefully eliminated $260,000 (18%) in printer costs. o This required separate meetings with each affected department. Their needs were discussed so we wouldn’t negatively impact their work processes. Developed and implemented a successful logistics plan for moving an operating warehouse into a newly constructed building without losing any workflow. Effectively lead staff in project to implement computerization of all supply handling processes. o This included staff members who had no previous computer experience. Financial Responsible for the corporate supply inventory of $12 million for four hospitals. o Developed and implemented a supply inventory reduction plan for the healthcare system that resulted in a $2.7 million reduction in three months. Consistently kept all of my departments on or better than budget for labor and expenses. o Labor budgets ranged from 10 to 100 FTEs. o Expense budgets ranged from $10 - $18 million. Educational Served as editor for technician training manual’s 1st edition. o Later editions still in use today. Performed research on the safety of ethylene oxide (EtO) gas sterilization, providing methodology for increased safety in working with this vital sterilizing agent. Speaker at educational seminars helping people learn about EtO safety. Served on national work groups to develop educational materials to increase training opportunities for technicians.
