About the Manual: This manual is to be used only by Academy Students of the Los Santos Police Department for Academy and Exam purposes. This is a confidential document and distributing it to those without the permission to access it is strictly prohibited. Anyone who do es so will be removed from all forms of the Los Santos Police Department and criminal charges will be brought against you.

Radio Communications Ten Codes 10-1 - All units regroup at location 10-3 - Stop transmitting and clear the radio. 10-4 - Roger and Understood. 10-5 - Repeat last transmission. 10-6 - Disregard last transmission. 10-7 - Standby for further. 10-8 - Busy. 10-9 - Busy with Detective work. 10-14 - Requesting pickup. 10-15 - Suspect arrested - Number of suspects - Station/prison. 10-18 - Further assistance required? 10-20 - Location. 10-21 - Report status. 10-22 - Report in person - location (come here/go there). 10-27 - Switching radio channel. 10-40 - Lots of people in the area. 10-41 - Possible illegal activity. 10-46 - Perform a frisk. 10-50 - Out of vehicle for investigations. 10-55 - Traffic stop. 10-56 - Computer check. 10-57 VICTOR - Vehicle pursuit. 10-57 FOXTROT - Foot pursuit. 10-60 - Vehicle description.
10-61 - Suspect description. 10-66 - Felony stop. 10-70 CODE 2 – Back up required. No lights or sirens. 10-70 CODE 2-HIGH - Back up required. No lights or sirens unless traffic requires the usage. 10-70 CODE 3 - Emergency backup required. Response Codes Code 0 - Urgent Assistance Required (ALL units drop what you're doing and attend immediately) Code 1 - Officer in distress. A heightened Code 3, but does not warrant the use of Code 0. Code 2 - Non-Emergency Routine call - Respond in own time. (If something comes up, leave it keep responding, not lights or sirens.)
Code 2-HIGH - Priority call (no lights or siren, may be used at intersections/heavy traffic.) Code 3 - Emergency - Respond with Lights and Sirens Code 4 - Patrolling, Available for Calls Code 5 - Stakeout. Code 6 - I am on scene (target location) Code 6 ADAM - Arrived on scene and requesting an additional unit (include target location). Code 6 GEORGE - Arrived on scene with gang activity (include target location). Code 6 CHARLES - Arrived on scene, wanted suspect (include target location). Code 7 - Meal break (for refreshments).
Status Codes Start of Watch - Reporting on duty. End of Watch - Reporting off duty.
Identity Code (IC) IC1 – White IC2 – Black IC3 – Latino IC4 – Middle Eastern IC5 – Asian IC6 – Unknown Ethnicity

ABOUT THE POLICE ACADEMY EXAMINATION
The Police Academy Examination (PAE) will assess your knowledge of all areas taught within the Police Academy. The examination will contain a variety of questions, designed to test your receptiveness to multiple areas. You will be required to provide a variety of different answers depending on the question type, ranging from short, closed answers to theoretical scenarios that ask for your interpretation on how to proceed in a given situation.
FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS & RULES
There are a series of rules & regulations you must understand and follow regarding your examination. The rules posted below will also be posted at the top of your exam paper when you receive it. The further instructions & rules are as follows:
• You can only request to receive your exam if you have attended an academy session. You will be
removed from the recruitment process altogether if you attempt to receive the exam before attending an academy session. • You will receive your exam from the user account "Police Academy", you must send your exam
back to this account. • The exam must be returned within 24 hours of it being sent to your inbox. • You are allowed to use the notes you made in the academy as well as the police academy student
material to help you. • You may not copy work from other sources, i.e. books, internet, other officers, etc. • You are NOT allowed to share your exam with anyone. • You are NOT allowed to share your exam answers with anyone.
To receive your exam simply post a response in your Personal File using the format below.

ABOUT THE POLICE ACADEMY
The Police Academy (PA) will explain everything you are required to know to become a police off icer for the Los Santos Police Department. The academy is the most intense and in depth training the LSPD offers and will require students to remain focused for its entirety in order to successfully pass the next step, the Police Academy Examination (PAE). Students will be taught key topics, ranging from the rules & regulations, rank authority & structure, patrol types & permissions as well as a developed understanding of the laws & legal system of the City of Los Santos.
PREPARATION FOR THE ACADEMY
Upon being accepted as a Police Academy Student you will receive a confirmational acceptance letter containing your Unique Identification Number (UIN) for the academy. The database grants you access to the following:
• Police Academy Student Material - This document contains information that you will be required to
study before the academy session you attend. All students MUST have downloaded this document and read through it prior to the start of the academy session you choose to attend (sent to you). • Dates & Times - The student area board displays t he dates & times for each academy session. There
are usually two sessions per academy both on the Saturday of academy weekend. In addition, the times for the Departmental Inductions are also listed on the Dates and Times announcement, these are usually held on the Sunday of academy weekend. • FAQs - We have compiled a list of Frequently Asked Questions for your benefit on the academy
database. You should consult this list before contacting the Officer-in-Charge of Police Academies, your question may have already been answered.
On the day, we will go through various security procedures to ensure all students are at the required stage in the recruitment process to be allowed access to the LSPD Police Academy. Please ensure you follow these instructions:
• All students MUST be in the Police Academy waiting area on Teamspeak AT LEAST 10 minutes prior
to the start of the academy session you wish to attend. You are not initially required to be in the LSPD lobby but once asked to do so by the Instructor, please make sure you are there as soon as possible in order to ensure the set up process progresses as smoothly as possible.
• You will be asked to provide verification of your status as an academy student, please have your
academy security information on hand during the set up process of the academy as well as as a '[Student]' name-tag at the start of your Teamspeak nickname. • In addition, any further instructions given to you by the instructors are to be followed.
