OXYGEN SENSOR

The TPS. connector is mounted on the opposite side of the throttle axis, and IS connected to the accelerator throttle. Usually three wires are connected, one is the engine ground, another one is connected to 5 Volts and the last one IS the "signal" (easy to recover: using a multimeter the tension on this wire ranges from 0 Volts-idle- to 5 Volts -full throttle-, depending on the accelerator pedal position) The "signal" wire is the one to be connected to the Lambda Control System.

LAMBDA CONTROL SYSTEM

How to fit and adjust the device

EMMEGAS "LAMBDA CONTROL SYSTEM DEG-104" Note: The Lambda Control System is already preset by the manufacturer with standard emulation. 1) Fit the step-motor (with the adjuster) in the vapour hose between the LPG regulator and the mixer, if possible near the mixer. 2) Fit the "control unit" in horizontal position, in location protected from water and far from direct heat sources, and then connect the wires as shown in the drawing. 3) Connect the "remote tester" to the "control unit", through the proper connector, then set the switch in the "tester" on "test" position. 4) Start the engine on petrol, and warm it up, then switch to LPG and adjust the carburation (power), without considering the indications of the tester, using the adjuster on the step motor. Then, in the same way, adjust the screw on the regulator (idle). 5) With the engine on idling conditions, turn the "trimmer" on the control unit, so as having the TPS-led "off' when idling and ready to be "on" as soon as You press the accelerator pedal. If you do not want (or it is not necessary) to use the signal from the sensor of the throttle position (TPS), do not connect this wire (violet); under this condition the red led on the control unit will be automatically always "on" 6) Now, using the "remote tester", You can calibrate the carburation, keeping the engine at 3,500 rpm and operating on the power adjuster of the step motor, in the way that You have the red led "on" (rich mixture) on the tester. 7) Then, with the engine idling, adjust the idle with the screw on the regulator, in the way that You have the red led "on" (rich mixture) on the tester. 8) Now set the switch in the "remote tester" on "work" position, and, with the engine at 3,500 rpm, check that the 3 leds of the tester are turning on (red - yellow - green / green - yellow - red) in a rapid sequence. 9) Disconnect the "remote tester" from the control unit. NOTE: the number of rpm (3,500) is simply indicative.
