An image appears alone. It is a FIGURII; the figure of a beautiful WOM4N: CliRISTINE. For a moment, perhaps, we believe -her real -- lhat she will sing. But no, sne is a ilummy -- a mannequin, a cold dead memory.

Act I - 3. Only For You
5th November 2010
Love Never Dies
Backstage The entire company strikes a tableau, to thunderous applause. Then, as they break pose and run off, the stage revolves again so that we're backstage. Upstage, we see GANGLE still addressing the audience... GANGLE: Ladies and Gentlemen, Miss Meg Giry, the Ooh La La Girl! Five shows daily, only here at Phantasma. We begin to cross fade to MEG, backstage. And now, the aerial exoticism of the fabulous Miss Fleck - half bird, half woman, all for only 10 cents a ticket...

In the corridor backstage, showgirls andfreaks rush back andforth, finding their places for the upcoming peiformances. MADAME GIRY enters. She is clearly in charge: a stony, commanding presence. GIRY: Hurry up people! You have four more shows today!

All ryes turn as a strange carriage appears, fancifully designed. The horses appear to be mechanical and the driver's face seems to '6e completely obscured. ONLOOKER 1: What on Earth could it be? ONLOOKER 2: That's the damnedest thing I ever saw. ONLOOKER 3: It's empty! ONLOOKER 4: How does it work? REPORTER 1: Is it made of glass? REPORTER 2: It's a machine!
Suddenly the doors ofthe carriage open, revealing ... a completely empty interior. And then, three figures extricate themselves from the empty space. They bow in unison at the crowd, then approach CHRISTINE andfamily with 6izarre yet oddly beautiful motions. 6
