Located in lhokseumawe, Aceh and operated by PERTAMINA GAS., hereinafter is referred to as COMPANY. This document is preliminary calculation only. It is VENDOR’S responsibility to verify this calculation to meet COMPANY requirement to run facilities operable and safely. The VENDOR shall be required to update this document, once specific information has been defined. Should there be discrepancies or anomalies between documents, VENDOR shall clarify and responsible for the revision the document and consequences thereof. 1.2 Objectives

Principal Design Consideration Based on EN 12464, IEC 60598, and IESNA Lighting Handbook, lighting facilities for Electrical and Control Room shall be arranged to provide initial lumens that is not less than 500 lux, measured along the working height level. For outdoor area, the minimum illumination level is 5 lux.

4.

Basis and Assumptions

4.1 Design Basis

This parameter will be used for lighting calculation. The building for Electrical Room and Control

Room has the same room dimension. 1. Height 2. Width 3. Length

:3m :8m : 11 m

4.2 Assumptions

Generally, this lighting calculation is based on several assumptions data as below: 4.2.1

Light Loss Factor (LLF) or Maintenance Factor (MF) for lighting calculation as follow: -

4.2.2

For process area, the maintenance factor is 0.8 in indoor and outdoor For non-process area, the maintenace factor is 0.85 for indoor and 0.8 for outdoor

Lighting system is designed to provide a level of illumination 0.75 m above the floor. The mounting height will be 2.25 m. For outdoor area the mounting height will be 9 m.

4.2.3

Reflection factor for indoor room: -

Ceiling Wall Floor

: 0.7 : 0.5 : 0.3

4.3 Formulae 4.3.1

Zonal Cavity Method (Lumen Method) In rectangular room or building, zonal cavity method can be used to quickly calculate average illuminance levels, number of luminaires, and lighting layout.

E=

n x N x F x UF x MF A

(1)

Where E = average illuminance over the horizontal working plane (lux) n = number of lamps in each luminaire N = number of luminaire F = lighting design lumens per lamp (lumens) UF = utilisation factor for the horizontal working plane MF = maintenance factor (sometimes also called light loss factor LLF), to account for the reduction in light output from a lighting system due to ageing of the lamps and accumulation of dirt/dust on the light fittings and room surfaces

A = area of the horizontal working plane (m2) Utilisation factor (UF) measures the efficiency of the lighting scheme to deliver the light to the working plane relative to the room geometry. This incorporates the proportion of flux reaching the working plane from both the direct and reflected off other surfaces encasing the room/environment. length L width W c e Ceiling plane

hm

Workin g plane

fl o

The utilisation factor can be obtained from Utilisation Factor Table provided by the luminaire manufacturer based on the surface reflectance along with the room index (K), which can be derived as:

K=

LxW ( L + W ) hm

(2)

Where L = Room Length (m) W = Room Width (m) hm = Mounting Height of Fitting (from working plane) (m) The UF parameter can be look in the table of Appendix 1 Maintenance factor (MF) is a value designed to account for the reduction in light output from a lighting system due to: a) Ageing of the lamps b) Accumulation of dirt and dust on the light fittings and room surfaces. The value can be calculated as:

MF = Lamp lumen MF x Luminaire MF x Room surface MF

(3)

Typical MF value is as follows: a) Air Conditioned Office

0.8

b) Clean Industrial

0.7

c) Dirty Industrial

0.6

In this calculation, the MF value is set to 0.8 1

Point to Point Method This method use to determine the footcandle value at a point on a surface that is illuminated by direct light from a lighting fixture or more. The point to point method is normally used to determine illumination level at outdoor area. Basic formula of point-to-point method:

E=

I x cosӨ x MF x AL d2

(7)

Where E = illuminance at the target surface (lux) I = luminous intensity of the source in the direction of the surface (lumens) Ө = angle between the light ray coming from the source to the point, and a line that is perpendicular (normal) to the plane or surface on which the illuminance is being measured or calculated d = distance from the source to the surface (m) MF = maintenance factor AL = atmospheric loss, a factor to represent atmospheric absorption losses

If the target plane is illuminated by multiple light source, the calculations can be preformed individually per light source. The final result can be obtained by summing all calculated illuminance levels. 5. 5.1

Indoor Lighting Calculation Model of Lighting Model of flourescent lighting fixture selected in the calculation are taken from Philips Lighting Handbook. It will revised per actual VENDOR. The lighting fixtures used in the calculation are based on the following main parameters,    

Lamp type Lamp lumens Light loss factor Catalgoue

: Flourescent Lamp T8 2x36 W per fixtures : 2x3350 lumens : 0.8 : Philips

5.2 Calculation

First we define the room index based on the room physical dimension from equation (2)

K= =

LxW ( L + W ) hm

11 x 8 ( 11 +8 ) 2.25 = 2.06

So the Room index: 2.06 To find the LLF or UF, see the Coefficient Utilization Table in Attachment 1 For the assumption reflection factor and the room index above, UF is set to be 0.75 The number of luminaires required:

N

E A n  F  UF  MF N

500  88 2  3350  0.75  0.8

N = 11.73 The number of fixtures required is set to be 16 fixtures The average intensity of illumination for each Electrical and Control Room will be

E

n  N  UF  MF  F A

E= 682.18 lux

6. 6.1

Outdoor Lighting Calculation Model of Lighting Model of high pressured sodium outdoor lighting selected in the calculation are taken from Chalmit Photometric Data provided by Chalmlite Software. It will revised per actual VENDOR. The lighting fixtures used in the calculation are based on the following main parameters,    

6.2

Lamp type Lamp lumens Light loss factor Catalgoue

: Maxinex 2x250W per fixtures : 2x28000 lumens : 0.8 : Chalmit

Result From the calculation report, the minimum illumination levels is 12 lux. This has suffice the minimum requirement illumination level for outdoor area.
