Lesson Objectives : I.

By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

Read and articulate words with ‘ew’ and ‘oe’ such as stew, new, dew, toe, hoe and foe correctly.

Read and build up words with ‘ew’ and ‘oe’ by using sound cards in Build Me activity.

Teaching aids : Picture cards, word cards, poem entitled “Matthew and Joe”, sound cards, Word Search Previous knowledge : Pupils are already familiar with some vocabulary such as new and toe. correctly. Anticipated problems : Pupils may not be able to build the words with ew and oe correctly. oe . Possible solutions : Teacher assists pupils by asking pupils to read and sound the words with ew and oe. Pupils who have difficulty in building the words are helped by their fr iends.
