Description
Lecher antenna build INTRODUCTION The construction of a lecher antenna is not a very difficult exercise, however it requires a minimum of equipment, as well as a little address with your hands. There are some advantages to construct its own antenna:
Of course, the prize, an antenna costs between 100 and 250 euros, to build one should cost less than 100 euros.
You will be more close to your tool because it will really be yours, it is not a negligible factor, it is always important to love his tool.
If you are very skilful with your hands you will certainly want to make changes to the original model.
On this page you will find all the measures you need to build your antenna. All information come from my antenna (which was purchased in 2000), it is the one used as reference in the french book of D. Coquelle, you are free to disregard these values, but I do recommend you do not to change the information in red. Here are other additional information.
GENERAL LOOK
Nickel plated copper wire: This is the central piece of your antenna, the wire must be as straight as possible.
Height from the body (each side): 18.8 cm.
Total length: 20.05 cm (18.8 cm external and 1.25 cm in the body).
Outside width (top of the antenna): 2.9 cm.
Internal width (top of the antenna): 2.3 cm.
Diameter: 0.3 cm.
Plastic rule: The rule is transparent, but this does not have great importance.
Height from the body: 16.6 cm.
Width: 1.4 cm.
The zero of the rule is at the top.
The body in bakelite: The body can be made of wood, plastic ... Caution: Don't forget the lecher wire gets into the body of 1.25 cm.
Total height: 3.3 cm.
width: 6.3 cm.
depth: 1.5 cm.
height of the lateral edges: 2.0 cm.
Cursor : The cursor is used to make short circuit. It is important that it makes contact between both sides of the Lecher wire. It is therefore made of conducting material and can move (by dragging) on the Lecher wire.
Branches : The branches are made of conducting metal (surely nickel plated copper). Branches are hollow (as a pipe), they are not exactly the same, one is more hollow that the other. They get inside the bakelite body for 1.5 cm, in theory they must not make contact with the lecher wire.
Length: 12.5 cm.
Diameter: 0.5 cm.
Angle insertion of the rule to the branch): between 101° and 106°.
THE "GADGETS" : 4 Janv. 2009
4 "gadgets" are sold with the lecher antenna:
A magnetised wire that take place inside the branches. In principle, it should facilitate the search for all what is electromagnetic (North, cosmo-based fields, and some bodies).
Three squares of color (red, blue, green), they serve as witness.
A mass, it is connected to the antenna with an electrical wire. It allows to test people as well as remedies.
A ring of 1 cm wide, it facilitated the search for the (auric and magnetic) fields. It is fixed on the body of the antenna.
On this photo, the mass is related directly to the body of the antenna.
VARIANTS: 4 Janv. 2009 Here are a few points that can be changed:
the length of the Lecher wire, you can enlarge it (make it 40cm length), but careful since marker list will not be accurate any more.
The angle and size of the branches, more large branches can give you better handling. It can also increase the reactions of the antenna.
You can change the body, making it heavier or lighter.
You can add a small laser in the base of the body, it may help you target more accurately.
IMPORTANT POINTS: 4 Janv. 2009
It is important that your antenna is properly balanced.
Lecher wire must be as straight as possible and be conductive. Note that some antenna have a small loop at the top of the Lecher wire, the end of the antenna can be open or closed it'll not change your results.
The cursor must make contact on both sides of the Lecher wire.
Lecher wire and branches are two disjoint parts. No contact between the wire and the branches.
