Lamb Shelby is a design toy, created specially for “AradiyaToys Design” collection. You are not allowed to sell the toys that are crocheted following this pattern. This toy was crocheted with “Iris” yarn. This is 100% cotton, 150m/25g. To create a toy with a height of 7 cm, the fleece covering the body and the head must be crocheted with double yarn using a 1.75 mm hook. In this way you will make the yarn two times thicker. All other details must be crocheted with single yarn using a 1.25 mm hook. For crocheting flowers you can use the same mouline yarn as was mentioned in materials or any matching color yarn. To crochet the pillow you should use three threads of white DMC yarn using 0.75 mm hook. The stuffing material used in this toy is polyester wadding. This pattern is for personal use only. Tip 2

To keep track of the beginning of the row, use a marker. Pin marker to the last loop of the row. Every new row must be finished with a loop at the marker.

Tip 1

The toy must be crocheted with tight stitches, to be sure that there won’t be any holes through which stuffing material can be seen.

All amigurumi toys are crocheted with tight stitches. Avoid small holes when stretching crochet fabric, if there are some tiny holes, use a smaller size hook. To avoid seams, all details are crocheted in a spiral without slip stitch and lifting loops. There is a chance that you will lose the beginning of the row; to avoid this, use a marker. It can be a colored pin or thread of contrasting color.

Bobble The fleece covering the body and head must be crocheted with a double thickness of yarn, whereas the head, legs and ears are crocheted with a single thickness of yarn. The fleece covering the body and head is crocheted using a "bobble stitch". All "bobble stitches" must be crocheted front loops only and usual stitches – back loops only. "Bobble stitch" (Bl): The "Bobble" is a combination of few double or treble crochet stitches that you make in the same stitch, except that you leave each Dc or Tr stitch half-complete and then link them all together at the end. So, to crochet a Bl of 3Dc you must: yarn over, insert your hook into the front loop of the stitch, yarn over and draw up a loop (3 loops on your hook). Yarn over once more and draw it through the first 2 loops on your hook, you will get a half-complete double crochet. There should be 2 loops remaining on the hook. Make 2 more halfcomplete double crochets into the same stitch, leaving the last loop of each stitch on the hook. Now we need to crochet these 3 half-complete double crochets together. Yarn over and pull the yarn through all 4 loops in one go.

4.1 Bobble To crochet a Bl of 4Tr you must: twice yarn over, insert your hook into the front loop of the stitch, yarn over and draw up a loop (4 loops on your hook). Yarn over and draw it through the first 2 loops on your hook, yarn over once more and draw it through two more loops. You will get a half-complete treble crochet, there should be 2 loops remaining on the hook. Make 3 more half-complete treble crochets into the same stitch, leaving the last loop of each stitch on the hook. Now we need to crochet these 4 half-complete treble crochets together. Yarn over and pull the yarn through all 5 loops in one go.

To not lose the count, remember that you need to finish the bobble stitch only when you have 1 loop more on the hook than what is mentioned in the pattern. For example: if the pattern says Bl of 4Tr, then you should finish the bobble stitch when you have 5 loops on the hook.

Assembly Put the fleece on the top part of the head (rows with INVDEC’s) and fasten it with pins. Sew the fleece with the end of pink yarn that we left before, the seam must go through the 18th row of the head (Image 64). Fasten and cut the yarn, hiding the end inside the head. Skip this part if you are making a sleeping lamb. Place the eyes symmetrically on the wide part of the head, right under the fleece and fasten them with pins. There should be 5 stitches left between the eyes (Image 67) and the bottom edge of the eyes should be placed on the 10th row (Image 68). Sew the eyes, making a seam around the circumference. Fasten and cut the yarn, hiding the ends inside the head.

Assembly Rotate the body so that the crocheted 9Sc in 13th row are situated on the top. Put the head to the incline on the body and fasten it with pins. Assembly Place the legs symmetrically to the body, orienting them as shown on the photo and fasten them with pins (Image 80). The legs of the lamb will be moving freely (connected in only one point on the body). To do so, make a stitch on the body in the place where the leg will be placed (Image 81). Pull the leg to the body, wind the yarn that has just come out of the body round the other end of this same yarn (between leg and body) (Image 82) and make a backwards stitch on a body (Image 83). Fasten and cut the yarn, hiding the end inside the body. Repeat with the other legs.

Assembly Place the ear so that its top part is touching the fleece on the head. It should be placed halfway between the eye and the body. Place the second ear symmetrically. Assembly Embroider the pupils with black yarn on the third row of the eyes. This will make the lamb look up. If you want to make the lamb look straight ahead, embroider the pupils on the fourth row of the eyes (Image 89). Embroider the sparkles on the edge of the pupils with white yarn. The top points of the closed eyes of sleeping lamb should be placed on the 12th row of the head (Image 90) and bottom points – on 11th. The length of the eye between its top points is 5 stitches (Image 91). 6 stitches should be left between the eyes. Sew the flowers right under the left ear with the ends of yarn that we left on the flowers before. Place them close each to the other as shown on the photo.
