Name of Job: Designing Network for CSE Building.

Objective Design a Computer Network that covers every floors of the cse building. The whole department will be run under a Real IP197.125.37.0. This department will be connected to nearby EEE department which is assigned by another real ip. All the PCs and servers of CSE building will be networked with high efficiency and maintaining scalability so various network tools like Nagios, Cacti can be implemented.

The Server 1 located at the 2 floor of the CSE building is enabled with http serv ices. The default ip of this http server is 197.125.37.2 This http server is accessible from all t he computers of CSE building. DNS: nd

Remembering the default IP of the http server is difficult. So the Server 1 located at the 2

floor of the CSE building is also enabled with the DNS service so that a common remember able domain name is used to access the http server. The domain used here is http://sayem.com with the ip address 197.125.37.2

Overview and Implementations st

The whole CSE building consists of Ground floor, 1 floor and 2

nd

floor. Ive used 4

PCs (additional PCs may also be added),1 switch which has 24 fastethernet ports st

and 1 printer at ground floorfor this network simulation. Similarly 1 floor and 2

nd

floor consists of 3 PCs, 1 server and 1 switch for each floor. All these 3 switches of  these floors are connected to another switch which is connected to a router. This router joins the CSE buildings network to outside network like EEE buildings network. All the devices are connected with proper cables where required. Each end devices are configured with appropriate IP addresses. After that Ive set ip address for Routers each port ( FastEthernet 0/0 andFastEthernet 1/0 ) and this ip will be the default gateway of each local networks frequently.

Testing After the entire step described above is done, the whole network is tested going through the Command Prompt of everyend devices and the pinging to another end device IP. If this returns successful message then the total network has been established successfully.

Summery Our Primary Objective is gained. Total Network system of the CSE building is working successfully.
