FOREWORD

This document "KOC Standard for External Coating of Underground Piping 1 Pipelines - High Build Polyurethane Coating" (Rev.1) describes the minimum basic technical requirements of corrosion control of steel piping I pipelines to ensure the' reliability and effectiveness of the specified coating material and its application for the intended purpose. This KOC Standard has been approved by Standards Team in consultation with Standards Technical Committee (STC) for consistent use throughout for the corporate engineering and operational functions of Kuwait Oil Company (K.S.C). The purpose of this Standard sets out to achieve the following objectives: a) To describe current technical practices in industry and generial procedures for coating of underground piping 1 pipelines with High Build Polyurethane to minimize and control corrosion of the external surfaces of underground steel pipelines and piping network. b) To provide general technical inputs and guidance for developing project specifications in order to ensure quality, safety and reliability. c) To provide general technical inputs and guidance for I
