The Defamatory Publications

6.

On August 25, 2006, Pastor Steve Long falsely and maliciously published, to the Rick Meyers as listed in Schedule “A” and/or to the world at large on the internet false and defamatory words of and concerning the Plaintiffs (the “Defamatory Publications”). Pastor Steve Long had no direct relationship with the defendant and did not know him at all! Sub sequentially in spite of numerous emails and publications by the defendant on the matter the Defendant refused to substantiate his lies, defamation and character assassination of a stranger or take back his words and stonewalled the Defendant at every occasion. The Plaintiff will provide particulars of the many incidents at the Court’s or Long’s request.

7.

The Plaintiff relies upon the natural and ordinary meaning of, and the innuendo arising from, the Defamatory Words. In their natural and ordinary meaning, and by innuendo, the Defamatory Words meant and were understood to mean one or more of the following: (a)

that Walter is as bad as they come

(b)

He has been disciplined by several churches in his past for rebelllion and blames every and all churches he has every been a part of.

(c)

His wife wasn't stolen, she left him

and if he had been a part of our church, which he wasn't; I wold be all over for him for slander. ;

(f)

He is not a part of our chrch so we are not responding to him-

Statement of Claim Page 5 of 5

(g)

The Defendant has continually stonewalled the Plaintiff and continues to propagate the lies, slander and defamation about the Plaintiff.

8.

The Defamatory Words were published with malice.

9.

As a direct result of the malicious statements and publication of the Defamatory Words by Long, the Plaintiff has suffered and will continue to suffer damages, his character and reputation, personally and in the way of his profession, office or calling, has wrongly been brought into public disrepute, his public and general reputation has been and will continue to be seriously damaged, he has been subjected to embarrassment, ridicule and contempt and has had serious marriage problems as a result.

10.

The Defamatory Words also directly attack the character, competence, and integrity of the Plaintiff and, consequently, have had and will continue to have a detrimental effect on the ability of Walter Kambulow to continue to serve the public and on the ability of Kambulow to continue to perform his work as news reporter for Christian News Today and other news media.

11.

In publishing the Defamatory Words, Long acted maliciously, wilfully, recklessly and without due regard for the consequences of his conduct for the Plaintiffs. Long was at all material times aware of or ought to have known that the Defamatory Words are without foundation and fact. Long published the Defamatory Words as a result of a personal vendetta he carries against the Plaintiff, related to Mr. Kambulow’s published views about other so called anointed Christian pastors including Evangelical, Baptist, Pentecostal,

Catholic and Charismatic. The Plaintiffs plead that Long’s conduct as a prominent pastor who is supposed to be a man of God, a man of his word, a man of God, warrants the imposition of aggravated, punitive and exemplary damages. The Plaintiffs plead that TACF’s conduct as well as the Founding Pastor John Arnott who are supposed to be men of God, men of integrity, men of conscience, men of justice, not stone wall continually the defendant man of his word, a man of God, warrants the imposition of aggravated, punitive and exemplary damages as a warning to others not to use their position or non profit organization to further hurt, defame and treat unfavorable an stranger when their own bible on which they base their faith clearly states in the gospel of Matthew 25:41 "Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: 25:42 'for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; 25:43 'I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.' 25:44 "Then they also will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?' 25:45 "Then He will answer them, saying, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.'

Schedule “A” Page 1 of 19 Schedule A WHAT BUSINESS HAVE THE PASTORS OF TACF WHO DON’T KNOW ME TALKING ABOUT MY MARRIAGE TO RICK MEYERS OR ANYBODY ELSE? NONE! Walter Kambulow The Plaintiff reacted to the lies the Defendant Steve Long made about the Plaintiff on April 29, 2005 using the term “we” and the stonewalling which the Plaintiff had received from the Defendants including Fred Wright, Steve Long, and John Arnott and others in TACF. It is to be noted that the Defendants didn’t stonewall Rick Meyers emails of October 29, 2005 to April 30,2006 and responded to Rick Meyers although sometimes in a very sarcastic tone.1

The fact remains that Defendants not only do not know the Plaintiff but they know nothing about the marriage and Steve Long should have known about the correspondences that were in affect between Rick Meyers and TACF to which Steve Long responded and prejudicially slandered and defamed the Plaintiff of which Mr. Long has sub sequentially been called by the Plaintiff as a proven liar and a slanderer and a back stabber! The facts which have been published about Rick Meyers correspondence with TACF and the resulting answers and have been unchallenged by the Defendant are as follows: Steve and Sandra Long are the Senior Associate Pastors to John and Carol Arnott, and have been at Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship (TACF) since June 1994. They oversee the pastoral care side of TACF, and Steve also oversees the Revival Department of TACF, which organizes conferences, weekly revival meetings and other events designed to welcome the Holy Spirit. Steve is a graduate of Central Baptist Bible College. Steve enjoys speaking on what God has been doing in His recent outpouring of the Holy Spirit, especially to conservative denominations and with those churches who have no experience in renewal. "We love working with the pastoral team to

Schedule “A” Page 2 of 19 encourage people in their spiritual growth through cell groups, mentoring and discipleship. We want everyone to receive the blessings we have experienced here at TACF." Fred Wright is an Associate at Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship (TACF), serving as the International Coordinator for Partners in Harvest (PIH) and Friends in Harvest (FIH) family of churches. Fred Wright has been in ministry for 40 years, and has served in a wide variety of roles including evangelism, church planting, pastoring and teaching in many nations around the world. There are over 130 PIH and over 300 FIH churches and ministries in more than 35 countries. Fred travels to as many of these churches as possible, as well as visiting new churches interested in joining this fellowship of churches. He has also taught at numerous TACF renewal and other meetings. Fred speaks and ministers on a broad range of subjects, including God's love, forgiveness, Christ-likeness, holiness, hearing God's voice, prophecy and leadership development. Sharon Wright has worked and ministered beside her husband for 38 years. Throughout these years, she has taught and preached from the Word, not only in the Bible School that they directed in Sweden, but also at conferences in Europe and South and North America. She also has spoken at numerous TACF renewal and other meetings. Partner in Harvest is a family of churches, a network of people who are united in their passion for Jesus in a no-holds-barred pursuit of Him. PIH and FIH members unite under the broad banner of the Triune God and purposely steer clear of any theological words or actions that might inadvertently cause offense or stumbling to those of different denominations;  

PIH is the PIH family members primary relational affiliation and covering;

Schedule “A” Page 3 of 19  

PIH is the members primary source of accountability (PIH leadership, then their Foursome and other PIH family members);

PIH leadership exists to provide encouragement, blessing, and a relational network for the building up of its members;

PIH makes every effort to cross denominational, generational and cultural lines in order to increase and promote blessing and unity in the global Body of Christ;

PIH is not a top-down, controlling, pyramid structure; rather,

PIH churches and ministries are autonomous, self-governed entities. Leadership of PIH readily provides counsel when asked but will not meddle or offer unsolicited advice. … Accountability. We need each other, both in terms of "the banks" and "the flow." Someone who can ask direct questions about personal integrity, family life and the health of our churches; as well as inspire us to plunge deeper into the Lord and His purposes for our lives. While we may also welcome occasional guidance in areas of doctrine, integrity and financial responsibility, we recognize the greater long-term benefits of inspiration and motivation. We all need spiritual covering. http://www.partners-in-harvest.org/about.asp?page=about&subPage=aboutPih The controversial church Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship is the brain child of Senior Pastor John Arnott who is also a director of the TACF church network - Partners in Harvest and it’s chief spokesman. (See Letter from John Arnott http://www.partners-in-harvest.org/index.asp?page=home&subPage=JohnLetter.) Ultimately John Arnott is one way or another responsible for the direction and leadership of PIH and how things are done there. And my experience with John Arnot is that he takes no responsibility for

Schedule “A” Page 4 of 19 anything and loves to pass the buck to others. He has no real wisdom or discernment and is so heavenly minded that he is no earthly good! It’s to be noted that TACF limits it prayer requests: If you have a prayer request, you can email us at [email protected]. We are limiting requests to the following areas: 1. Healing - terminal illnesses, chronic pain and disabilities (mental and physical). 2. Renewal/Revival - for renewal in your local church, revival in your city. http://www.tacf.org/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabid=208 About five years ago Senior Pastor John Arnott appointed and blessed one of his staff Pastors, Jim Paul along with his wife, Diane, to open a satellite church in Hamilton Ontario. Jim Paul was there when the revival broke out in 1995. The church was very successful in the beginning drawing from people who believed in the revival and didn’t want to run to Toronto to experience it. It has run into hard times and most of its members have left in droves. Metro International Church in Hamilton, Ontario a Partner in Harvest Church is basically owned and run by Pastor Jim and Diane Paul along with Lynn and Cathy Reichert who are not only majority board members along with Jim and Diane but Cathy is the sister of Jim. It's a family owned and run church. Rick Meyers sent the following email on October 29, 2005 to John Arnott: ----- Original Message ----From: [email protected] To: John Arnot ([email protected]) Sent: Saturday, October 29, 2005

Schedule “A” Page 5 of 19 Senior Pastors John and Carol Arnott Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship (TACF) Subject: Pastor John and Diane Paul Metro Church International Dear Pastor John, Best Selling Author Harold Hill who wrote "How to Live Like a King's Kid” once wrote in his book "You cannot argue with success?" Success speaks for itself!" The same is true with failure. Failure speaks for itself. On TACF’ web site it is stated that John is a director of the TACF church network - Partners in Harvest? So when something is wrong with one of your churches or pastor it reflects on the whole denomination? Well I like to bring forth a complaint about one of your pastors who are failures in every sense of the word. Their church of 400 not only has less than 25 people on a Sunday morning but they have filed for personal bankruptcy. And their marriage has been on the rocks for a number of years. And what is worse they are giving out bad advice about equality in marriage between a man and a wife ignoring the word of God that states in Ephesians 5:22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 5:23 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.5:24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. It has come to my attention that Pastor Jim and Diane Paul of Hamilton Metro church advised a wife of one my Christian friends that “a wife doesn’t have to be subject to her own husband in everything because we now have equality in marriage where the wife and husband share all things together and are equal in all things.” They also never talked to the husband of the marriage but only to the wife about the marriage and the responsibilities and obligations in marriage. That in itself is

Schedule “A” Page 6 of 19 wrong. They should have talked to both parties together for which they have no excuse! Without being a legalist about Ephesians 5:22-24 is this something that Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship and Partners in Harvest subscribe to as one of the doctrines of the Christian faith the liberal notion that a women doesn’t have to obey her husband when she doesn’t feel like it? Although I accept the notion that each man is a king and priest unto God (Revelations 1:6) and the head of his household in all things, I cannot accept the teachings of Pastor Jim and Diane that have caused real problems in a marriage with my friends and members of their church. As a result presently the wife is going through a nervous breakdown because of their words and the husband is upset because the pastors have been interfering in his marriage without talking to him. I also was not aware that Jim and Diane have any qualifications to be marriage counselors. If they do, could you let me know about it? I suggest that you look into this whole matter before more lives are damaged by such foolish teaching. Steve Cc Fred Wright (Considering his incredible credentials, you would think that Fred Wright would have integrity and hear from God and have acted on Rick Meyers complaint about an unqualified pastor Jim Paul giving marriage advice just to the wife and not to the husband? Neither Pastor John Arnott or Steve Long really cared about dealing with a complaint concerning one of their understudy! Fred Wright who wasn’t a gracious, kind loving person, only responded to Rick Meyers 12 weeks later after a second email was sent to Pastor Steve Long complaining that no action was done concerning Pastor Jim Paul:) ----- Original Message ----From: Rhonda Puddle To: [email protected] Sent: Monday, January 23, 2006 10:12 AM Subject: Replying to your letter Dear Rick, John (Arnott) has passed your email on to me. I have been traveling almost constantly since August 05 and do not take a computer with me when I travel. The interesting thing about churches and pastoring churches is that it is based on people choosing that church. They vote weekly with their attendance, money and support. If they disagree with what a pastor says or does, they leave.

Schedule “A” Page 8 of 19 Pastors are far from perfect and people like you in congregations have their own interpretations of scripture, for example Ephesians 5:23 & 25. You disagree with Jim Paul’s interpretation of it and are upset about what you perceive is the effect his interpretation has had on your friends. Does that make your interpretation orthodoxy and his heresy? I think not. Does your disagreement with him make it imperative for me to come roaring in with guns drawn to try to correct Jim? I think not. I am sure there were other problems in their marriage before this issue came up. Scripture is quite clear about when overseers are to intervene and it is for moral failure and heresy. What you are stating is neither. What I do hear from you are some harsh charges directed against him in other areas that have nothing to do with morals or heresy. The scripture is also clear about making charges against church leaders and against God’s elect. My suggestion is that you calm down and try to get things in perspective. Please know that I am not going to intervene because you disagree with Jim’s teaching nor because his church has diminished. At its peak they had maybe 150, not the 400 you state they had. All churches grow and diminish at various times in their history and some grow again. I am also not going to carry on some type of long term discussion with you about all this. I have better things to do with my time. Please know that the tone of your email and your accusations about my doing nothing about your concern did nothing to endear you with me either. I hope this is not the way you normally deal with people. Yours sincerely,

I hope this is not the way you normally deal with people." For the record my tone doesn't matter as I don't have to win your support but just point out the hypocrisy of this whole situation and the lack of any justice or integrity on your part.

Schedule “A” Page 10 of 19 You only confirmed to me that Pastors always support pastors and that there is no justice given by the clergy when a complaint is made against the clergy! And your reply only confirmed your own condescending attitude! You also stated "Does your disagreement with him make it imperative for me to come roaring in with guns drawn to try to correct Jim? I think not. I am sure there were other problems in their marriage before this issue came up." The fact remains that I know my friends very well and there were no other problems in their marriage before this issue came up. They were happily married for twenty four years until foolish Pastor Jim Paul meddled in with the wife and never talked to the husband. And that is wrong because the bible teaches that the wife and husband are one! Maybe Jim's motive was to divide and conquer the wife? He hasn't been very successful in his own marriage an issue you have not discussed! Take care! "Maybe 150" is a very broad term! I suggest that you get your own words into perspective and get specific facts straight before you say anything else foolish? There are about 25 people in attendance presently in Metro International Church in Hamilton, Ontario. The church presently has in it over 400 seats from its former glory days when there were 400 people in attendance for special meetings as testified by Jim Taylor, the former youth pastor and even Pastor Jim Paul. The Church is basically owned and run by Pastor Jim and Diane Paul along with Lynn and Cathy Reichert who are not only majority board members along with Jim and Diane but Cathy is the sister of Jim. In other words it's a family owned and run church? And it's treasurer quit the church about six months ago leaving the pastor holding the money bag. And the monthly interest payments on the church mortgage was renegotiated from $3,000 a month to $1,500 a month. You can correct me if these facts are wrong? It's not only Jim teachings that I disagree with and his methods and ways of doing things including being led and directed by his wife, but his lack of integrity and the fact that he doesn't have his own children in submission and filed for personal bankruptcy. If he cannot handle his own family and finances how can he handle the church? ( 1 Timothy 3:2-5) He cannot and that is why Jim and Metro Church International is a failure in every sense of the word. Rick (It's to be noted that PIH and FIH members unite purposely to steer clear of any theological words or actions that might inadvertently cause offense or stumbling to those of different denominations. In other words biblical doctrine doesn't matter and hence Wright stated; Pastors are far from perfect and people like you in congregations have their own interpretations of scripture, for example. Yes, TACF and PIH just like many Evangelical pastors know how to play around with words and talk about “personal integrity, family life and the health of our churches; … occasional guidance in areas of doctrine, integrity and financial responsibility, we recognize the greater long-term benefits of inspiration and motivation. We all need spiritual covering. But it’s all only empty words devoid of justice, righteousness and truth. It’s obvious from Fred Wright’s response that pastors in TACF and PIH don’t really care about what Apostle Paul said about those in leadership being blameless, including people like Pastor Jim Paul. And just like in many Assembly of God churches, PIH churches and ministries are autonomous, self-governed entities who basically suggest that any discontented member leave the church and find another church. Yes, the lies and hypocrisy and being a respecter of person are very rampant amongst the clergy even in TACF and PIH who ignore their critics even if their complaints are valid. They somehow believe that God will defend and reward them for doing nothing. These evil men and impostors never consider the fact that God is not on the side of injustice, cowards and liars. His word is unchanging:

Acts 5:3 But Peter said, "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself? 5:4 "While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God." 5:5 Then Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and breathed his last. So great fear came upon all those who heard these things. 5:6 And the young men arose and wrapped him up, carried him out, and buried him.

Dear Pastor Steve Long, Just because you are a pastor doesn’t give you the right to lie about me, character assassinate me, run away from me. You did you read my book “Apostasy” on the web which details why you are a liar and you did read the Halton Police report of October 30,2005 which tells the truth about many things? For the record I am not going away and neither are my books which are on the web to stay and for all to read! Again may I remind you that as a pastor you know God hates a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren? And being silent own confirms your guilt and unwillingness to apologize and change your ways making you into a real loser because God is never on the side of liars, cowards and fearful ones. His word is unchanging: DEUT 31:6 "Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you." 2CHRON 25:8 "But if you go, be gone! Be strong in battle! Even so, God shall make you fall

Schedule “B” It seems as reported by The Sydney Morning Herald, Australia that stonewalling of people who ask hard questions by prosperous Pentecostal churches such as TACF or Carpenter’s Home Church is a common problem in the world today! An article in the Sydney Morning Herald, Saturday 4 August 2007, describes how Tanya Levin, two years into writing People in Glass Houses, was walked off the Church's property by a security guard under the direction of Hillsong management. "There is no debate within Hillsong," she says. "That's fundamentalism. It's not open to free thought and question, not at all." Wikipedia reports about Hillsong Church http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hillsong Some journalists and religious leaders have expressed concerns about the church's political stance and use of donated funds for its ministries.[9] The church's prosperity teachings have also been criticised by prominent Baptist minister Tim Costello[10] and the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Sydney, Cardinal George Pell[11]. It was revealed in 2000 that Pastor Brian Houston's father, Frank Houston, had previously engaged in homosexual and paedophilic acts, whilst a minister in New Zealand. Brian Houston expelled his father from the church, despite Frank's early help in setting it up.[12] As Hillsong is a Pentecostal church, it has also come under some fire from Evangelical leaders; most notably from the conservative Anglican Diocese of Sydney, regarding its prosperity teachings[13] as well as other aspects of Pentecostal theology such as faith healing and baptism in the Holy Spirit. A critical article about Hillsong came from the January 2007 issue of The Briefing (published by Matthias Media, an evangelical publication) contained a lengthy article which

Schedule “B” Page 2 of 10 criticised Hillsong on several fronts, claiming that "core aspects of evangelical theology" such as "the cross, the blood, the judgment of God... the systematic exposition of the Scriptures" were "virtually absent" from Hillsong's teaching.[14] The Briefing went so far as to suggest that conservative evangelicals should consider placing "a blanket ban on Hillsong music in [their] churches" so as not to endorse or financially support Hillsong.[15] Hillsong has also been at the centre of a controversy over a Federal Government grant given to the Church to assist indigenous communities, but used instead as funds for the church. The Federal Government subsequently ordered Hillsong to return the money.[16] In 2006 Hillsong's plans to build a 3000-seat auditorium and a 900-space car park ran into community opposition with more than 300 signatures collected in a few days. The site was a former Roads and Traffic Authority depot and had been rezoned to allow 66 townhouses, but Hillsong Church bought it for $28 million and propose to build a new auditorium in Rosebery to replace their Waterloo site.[17] An article in the Sydney Morning Herald, Saturday 4 August 2007, describes how Tanya Levin, two years into writing People in Glass Houses, was walked off the Church's property by a security guard under the direction of Hillsong management. "There is no debate within Hillsong," she says. "That's fundamentalism. It's not open to free thought and question, not at all."[18] Hillsong - the church with no answers The Sydney Morning Herald, Australia Aug. 4, 2007 David Marr

Schedule “B” Page 3 of 10 www.smh.com.au When a former member of the Hillsong congregation started asking hard questions, she was thrown out, writes David Marr. By the miracle of YouTube, we can take a helicopter ride over Sydney any time we like with Pastor Brian Houston as he lays out Hillsong’s Vision 2007. In a voice that has coaxed fortunes from the faithful, he talks prosperity, vision, growth and God’s strategy as the helicopter swoops down on the “beautiful piece of property” Hillsong bought last year in inner-city Rosebery for $28 million. “I think the finances are where we’re going to have to have the greatest faith.” Hillsong Hillsong is Australia’s largest church. Hillsong also has congregations in London, Kiev, and in 25+ locations in Africa. Known thoughout the world for its hugely popular worship songs, the church has released over 40 worship albums since 1992. Unfortunately, the theology of Hillsong Church leaves much to be desired. It promotes Word-Faith theology, with a major emphasis on the so-called prosperity teaching. His confidence is absolute that the mortgage will soon be paid. To a sceptical outsider, Houston looks oddly like Spike Milligan with cans on his ears and a microphone to his mouth as he looks down on the suburbs where Hillsong’s “state-of-the-art worship centres” are booming already or will soon be delivering the goods for Christ. He shrugs off ridicule. The nation’s most triumphant preacher lives in a world without doubt and without dissent. “Jesus said a house divided against itself cannot stand,” Houston reminds the thousands who have viewed this film clip and left adoring messages behind. (”Please come to Sweden! We need ‘fire’ here!!!!!!!!!”) Authority is a big deal at Hillsong. You don’t mess with Brian or his wife, Bobbie. “The great strength of our church has always been our unity. A single vision is critical to where we’re going.”

Schedule “B” Page 4 of 10 So Tanya Levin is a problem. She asks questions. She wants explanations. She challenges the vision of Hillsong’s leadership. In short, she’s trouble. Two years into writing People in Glass Houses, her insider’s account of The church wasn’t answering her emails about the book. Houston had ignored her calls. She defied orders not to turn up at the Castle Hill “campus”, until the night came when two security guards carried her from the church and “a very tall, handsome Maori man of about 24″ called Dion walked her to her car. “I cried at Dion,” she writes. “I told him about my dad, and faithfulness and loyalty … whatever kind of Hollywood angel he was dressed as that night, there would come a time when he would outlive the usefulness to the Firm. And then he would lose that simple genuine look he stared at me with. I told him to go home and read his Bible and go ask the preachers why it doesn’t match what they say. He listened like one does to the ravings of a lunatic and I made him listen because that’s his job.” It was the end of a long affair that began when Levin was 14, the daughter of a banker and his Jewish wife who were brought to God by Billy Graham back in South Africa. The family turned up in the early days of what was to become the behemoth of Hillsong. “My impressions in September of 1985 were of a bunch of nice people,” Levin writes. They waved their hands and spoke in tongues. Houston preached. “Even today,” she confesses, “when I hear Brian Houston’s voice I feel better.” People in Glass Houses is a naked account of the joys of religious infatuation and the messy business of re-entering the real world as an adult five years down the track. Levin fitted the Hillsong pattern perfectly: “There is a 50 per cent turnover every five years. Hillsong is renowned for having a very big back door.” The churning of people through the church

Schedule “B” Page 5 of 10 is not something they talk about. “Or they say people don’t have the faith to hang on; they’re unable to take it through the tough times. It’s always the fault of the person. It’s never the fault of Hillsong.” But the ties were deep. University and then a child took her away from the Hills for a decade. She returned as a single mother with a job as a social worker in a Salvation Army women’s refuge and something more than curiosity about the fate of her old church and the friends she still had there. “I’d go sporadically just to have a look.” Rumours of scandal sharpened her interest. After one hugely popular pastor was expelled in 2001, Levin began asking questions about Brian Houston’s father, Frank - a preacher so powerful he was thought to be able to raise the dead - who was being accused on the internet of pedophilia. But Hillsong was in the dark. Brian and Bobbie won a standing ovation from the congregation when they finally broke the news that old Frank had an unwavering love of God and deeply repented his moral failings. His crimes were not named that day. Levin was furious: “I had a near-irresistible urge to yell out like the boys used to do in the old days, ‘What did he DO, Brian?’ ” Levin was asking questions again, this time to write this book. Frank was not her target. She set herself the task of explaining the inner workings of the most successful religious operation in Australia: the joy and despair of faith; the mass hypnosis of worship; the Jesus-centric remedies offered in Hillsong’s outreach programs for drug addiction, domestic violence, unemployment and homosexuality; the ideological submission of women; and the bleeding of money from the faithful. Hillsong, she was finally - and literally - shown the door. “There is no debate within Hillsong,” she says. “That’s fundamentalism. It’s not open to free thought and question, not at all.”

The Love Of Money “If anyone teaches false doctrines and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, {4} he is conceited and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions {5} and constant friction between men of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain. {6} But godliness with contentment is great gain. {7} For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. {8} But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. {9} People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. {10} For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. - The Bible, 1 Timothy 6:3-10 NIV

Levin’s family is among the financial casualties of Hillsong. They’re out of the church now after more than 20 years and her mother’s sardonic joke is that People in Glass Houses might earn a little of their money back. Hillsong’s 19,000 members are expected to tithe - give a 10th of their income to the church - and make big donations on top of that. Levin wrote the book as a warning: “The intention was to tell people, ‘Hey, by the way, they’re taking your money.’ ” A couple of years ago, Brian Houston boasted on ABC television that Hillsong’s income for the financial year 2004-2005 was $50 million. It’s tax-free, of course. Accounts are never published.

Schedule “B” Page 7 of 10 Year after year, Hillsong’s music arm has albums high in the charts. When All of the Above faded after many months this year, Saviour King took its place. The earnings are enormous but the begging bowl is always out. “It’s a corporate organisation being run by corporately trained people to achieve economic outcomes,” Levin says. “Economic outcomes are the new measure of spiritual success and sign of blessing. The fact that Brian Houston is driving a Harley is a sign that God is looking upon him favourably.” For Levin, the core lie of Hillsong is the claim that God will repay everything you give. And the longer you have to wait, the greater the return. “How do you actually stand in front of people and say if you give me your money God will give it back to you - and actually sleep at night when you’re taking old people’s money? It’s obviously the more desperate people who want to make an investment decision like that. Very vulnerable people.” Four or five years ago Levin typed “ex born again Christian” into Google and found that “from Sweden to Nevada and back again there were people with the same story”. They are welcomed into a small, warm, friendly congregation with one or two charismatic preachers. But a few years later they’re out the door: “Kicked out and told they are the work of the devil.” That early friendliness is part of the big sell. “They don’t preach against much. There’s a new movement that’s come through America called Seeker Sensitive - in other words we want people who come into our church to feel comfortable. And we want to be sensitive to their needs. So we won’t say anything too outrageous and we’ll tone the whole thing down.” But tough rules - often about sex - are waiting to be enforced. “Painted into a corner, they’re explicitly homophobic, but up to that point they don’t want to be seen as an unfriendly, judgmental

Schedule “B” Page 8 of 10 place. They want to be seen as warm, inclusive, loving, embracing. But they’re not. They are of their own kind: if you’re in the system and you behave accordingly, the system will reward you.” Levin thought that with so many casualties of the system around, writing the book would be easy. “What I found - and what other media have found - is that it’s almost impossible to get other people to come forward and talk about this. People will write things on websites, they will send emails: ‘I’ve been through this, I’ve done this, I can help you, I know these things, I am the voice of expertise.’ Then they disappear again because it’s too painful and it’s too confrontational.” Hillsong won’t comment on the result. “We have no control over what people decide to say and write,” Brian Houston says. “We keep our focus on helping people with hope in Jesus Christ.” But Levin has a fair idea what they’re thinking out in the Hills. “Bobbie Houston announced at the Colour Your World conference in 2005 that there the only three types of media about Hillsong. They are the positive, the neutral and the anti-Christ.” Levin doesn’t fit that picture. She doesn’t hate. Something in her seems to yearn for those exhilarating years fighting the good fight against the devil in all his disguises right down to the voodoo beat of rock’n'roll. “We were told you can’t have it because it’s incantation and you’re going to raise all these demons.” How different things are now. Levin begins to sing some Hillsong Christian trance music: “Doof, doof, doof. Christ is the future. Doof doof doof …” Is she entirely free of the place? If Houston rang today and asked her to dinner, would she go? “Yes, very much so. My main aim is to keep the dialogue open. To encourage questions. To encourage debate. And when somebody or a group of people make you feel like family for a number of years, it’s difficult to shake that feeling even when reality tells you something different,

Schedule “B” Page 9 of 10 and when relationships break down. Go do dinner with Brian?” She laughs. “It would be nice.” A fallen leader of faith Frank Houston was a charismatic preacher and a sick man. He won famous souls for Hillsong jockey Darren Beadman was one of his scalps - and sexually abused young men. He was about 60 when he undertook to cure 23-year-old Peter Laughton’s homosexuality. “My counselling sessions by the senior minister were nothing more than sexual abuse disguised in the form of the need of a father’s love and discipline,” Laughton says. “Through my naivety, I enjoyed the naked beatings, the eternal bum caresses and masturbating into bottles, among other things.” Laughton was training to be a pastor. He says the abuse continued for about four years until 1984. “I look at it now and think, ‘God, I was really naive to fall for that.’ ” And believing himself cured, he married. Laughton’s faith went first. He tells the Herald that before leaving the church in the early 1990s he gave an account to another pastor of the abusive therapy he’d received. But as far as Laughton is aware, no action was taken against the old man until he was forced into retirement by his son Brian after an allegation of pedophilia emerged in about 2000. Houston denies categorically knowing of any claims of sexual abuse by his father before this time. He initiated a church investigation, which saw the old preacher’s credentials permanently removed. “I was completely devastated by the realisation that my father had hurt people in this way, and I believed it related to events more than 30 years before when he was a New Zealand credentialled pastor. Until recently I knew nothing of Peter’s claims.” Laughton took a long time to come to grips with his sexuality. He’s now a university lecturer in his early 50s who finds it in himself to forgive Frank Houston. “Despite all his downfallings I think he was genuinely a good person. It is an important part but it still is only one aspect of a person’s life.

Schedule “B” Page 10 of 10 I’ve come through the other side and appreciated how this man was trapped like many of us were in a system and in a place where you couldn’t really even talk about what you were struggling with.” Burying his father in 2004, Houston declared him a man who made mistakes but a preacher “in a class of his own”. People in Glass Houses (Black Inc, $29.95) by Tanya Levin was published this week.

Schedule “C” Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship was once part of the Vineyard Churches which has certain rules how to deal with church discipline a subject which Pastor Steve Long brought out when talking about the Plaintiff Walter Kambulow. As a result the Plaintiff sent an email to the Defendant pointing out their own rules and hypocrisy! How Come When Liars Are Exposed They Remain Silent – Pastor Steve Long of TACF? Dear Pastor Steve Long,

How come you are silent about your unsubstantiated allegations about Walter Kambulow made on Tuesday, April 25, 2006? Did you check out what the Vineyards say about church discipline? http://www.vineyard.ca/engine.cfm?i=62 Church Discipline in a Vineyard context includes things you and Jim Paul know nothing about and don't practice: I. If the appeal is refused a letter is written by the church board outlining the action to be taken which may include the withholding of fellowship to the person found to be in sin and asking for their resignation from any positions of responsibility within the local church. 11. The disciplined person is given the opportunity to begin a guided process of restoration. My expressed opinion to everybody is that somebody should tell Pastor Steve Long to lay aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, and all evil speaking 1 Peter 2:1 Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, 2:2 as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, 3:1 Wives, likewise, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not obey the word, they, without a word, may be won by the conduct of their wives, 3:2 when they observe your chaste conduct accompanied by fear. 5:2 Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly; 5:3 nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock; What example does a proven liar and lord like Pastor Steve Long give? A very poor one! Pastor Steve Long of TACF Is Now A Proven Liar, Slanderer And Back Stabber Who Practices Evil Speaking

Schedule “C” Page 4 of 5 EPH 4:25 Therefore, putting away lying, "Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor," for we are members of one another. On Tuesday, April 25, 2006 Pastor Steve Long of Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship formed and circulated on the web a false evil report about Walter Kambulow without ever knowing, meeting or talking to him. He emailed to Rick Meyers a statement that Walter is as bad as they come. He has been disciplined by several churches in his past for rebelllion and blames every and all churches he has every been a part of. Mr. Long's remarks are nothing but evil speaking, libel and slander that have no basis in truth done by an egotistical coward who only runs away and hides from his deeds. Unrepentant Pastor Steven Long believes that his pastoral position exempts him from God's word that states MT 7:1 "Judge not, that you be not judged. And 1COR 13:5 (Love) does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;. EPH 4:31 Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. Deceived Pastor Steve Long believes he is only accountable to God and to those who his own choosing and can and say and do what ever he wants about others who ever they might be, even a fellow Christian. Arrogant Pastor Steve Long believes that his soaking anointing allows him to be a respecter of person and show partiality to other pastors while defaming the sheep including Walter Kambulow. In reality Pastor Steve Long of TACF (Toronto’s Church of the Flesh) has proven himself to be a wolf in sheep’s clothing besides a liar, slanderer, and back stabber. He has demonstrated publicly he is a hypocrite and has no honesty or integrity never mind being a Good Samaritan or caring.

Schedule “D” Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship was ones part of the Vineyard Churches which has certain rules how to deal with slander church discipline which Pastor Steve Long brought out when talking about the Plaintiff Walter Kambulow. See Vineyard Position Paper #1 entitled "Why I respond to criticism" http://www.vineyardusa.org/upload/criticism.pdf. Why I respond to criticism by John Wimber Vineyard Position Paper #1 May 1992 “Those [ who sin are to be rebuked publicly, so that the others may take warning” ( Tim 5:20). Paul publicly rebuked Peter and Barnabas in Galatians 2:11-21 for separating themselves from Gentiles out of fear for the “circumcision group” -- Judaizers who believed that circumcision was necessary for salvation. In 2 Timothy 4:10 Paul exposed Demas as one who loves the world and deserted him. Conclusions So, then, what conclusions can be drawn from the biblical evidence regarding defense against serious and false accusations against leaders? First, it is clear that leaders are to defend their ministries and personal integrity when they are falsely accused. Jesus did it. He told the disciples that they should expect attack and, when it came, how to defend the gospel and their integrity. The apostles did it, and they instructed other leaders -including us -- in how to do it. Second, leaders are to take attacks seriously because lies and slander against them and their ministries will hurt, confuse, and undermine the faith of those under their care. Further, false attacks create barriers to others coming to the Lord through their ministry.

Schedule “D” Page 2 of 4

Finally, leaders must publicly acknowledge the truth of accurate criticism and repent in the appropriate, biblical manner. This too is done for the sake of the body, so members are not led astray by false or misleading teaching. Frequently, appropriate criticism of leaders is brought in an inappropriate manner. For example, in Matthew 18:15-17 Jesus offers a concise pattern for how to bring correction against someone who sins. First, Jesus says, go to him in private and show him his fault. For leaders this initial step can be done through a personal conversation, a phone call, or a letter. But not through a magazine article, a book, a radio talk show, in a preaching, or a conference. No Christian leader should ever learn of serious charges brought against him through the Christian or secular media. These forums are appropriate only after his wrongdoing has been proved and presented to him, he has been allowed to defend himself, and he has refused to repent. This process is exhausting to the one bringing the charges, which probably explains why it is rarely followed today. Perhaps this helps explain why the body of Christ is so severely fragmented. Of course, this process also works in reverse: When a leader is falsely accused in public, he should approach his accuser first in private and in the spirit of love, unity, and forgiveness in order to clarify the issues and be reconciled. If the accuser refuses to respond to a reasonable response, the leader may then go public with his defense. (A detailed description of how to handle public repentance and treat fallen leaders is beyond the scope of this article. I have written on these topics in the Summer 1988 and Fall 1990 issues of Equipping the Saints magazine.) Contents

Related Questions Leaders’ response to criticism and controversy raise a number of related questions. For example, Why I Respond To Criticism U Page 5 Editor’s note: John Wimber, whose ministry helped spawn new theological lingo and mass Christian movements including the Vineyard died on November 17, the result of a fall that caused a fatal brain hemorrhage. He was 63. Wimber had already recovered from cancer in 1993 and a stroke in 1995. Last year he underwent triple-bypass heart surgery. Wimber graduated from Azusa Pacific University in 1970 and pastored the Yorba Linda Friends Church for five years. In 1974, Wimber began breaking traditional evangelical molds when he became director of church growth at the Fuller Evangelistic Association. He later taught a controversial and well-attended "Signs and Wonders and Church Growth" class at Fuller Theological Seminary. In 1978 he became full-time pastor of what became Vineyard Christian Fellowship in Yorba Linda, California. (Christianity Today, January 12, 1998) Vineyard Genetic Code At a Vineyard pastors conference in September 1992, founder John Wimber taught on 10 areas of ministry that were essential to any Vineyard church. John called these areas the Vineyard Genetic Code because they are the common denominators that identify us as a family. A Vineyard experience typically includes:

They also don't believe that a man is the head of the house and that is why my pastor Jim Paul is ruled and ruined by his wife Diane who is a controlling witch! Jim Paul was there when the revival broke out in 1995. Schedule “F” Most Evangelical groups or Christians today in the English world except a minority hold to the idea that Plaintiff is a cult. Wikipedia has a fascinating entry on the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship which reads, in part: The church is also the source of the so-called Golden Sword Prophecy. Another notable phenomenon that broke out there in March 1999 was the outbreak of allegedly instantaneous, allegedly medically documented dental ‘miracles’ including amalgam fillings or porcelain crowns being ’supernaturally’ changed to high-quality gold. At TACF Revival services, worshippers have exhibited unusual behaviours that they attribute to an encounter with God and the “fire of the Holy Spirit”. The most common described behaviours include laughter (or “holy laughter”), weeping, deep bowing, shaking, ‘drunkenness’, falling to the floor under the Holy Spirit’s power (aka “slain in the Spirit”) and speaking in tongues. Other less common behaviours include manifestations that resembled roaring like lions and crying like an eagle. At one time the TACF website described it thus: “The Toronto Blessing is a transferable anointing. In its most visible form it overcomes worshippers with outbreaks of laughter, weeping, groaning, shaking, falling, ‘drunkenness,’ and even behaviours that have been described as a ‘cross between a jungle and a farmyard.’ While others have stated about the Defendant’s arrogance : Both John Arnott and Benny Hinn have admitted to being influenced by Kathryn Kuhlman who was a charismatic pentecostalist in the 50 and 60s. Benny Hinn has said that he actually receives an anointing from her bones in her grave. John Arnott's church Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship has a website that sells loads of stuff like special prayer mats, relaxation cds and aromatic oils. If

Schedule “F” Page 2 of 6 this church is emailed and asked to explain why they do certain practices like 'soaking in the spirit' and so on there will never be any reply. Other churches that follow the lead from TACF will not reply either. This may be a condition of the cult or more than likely because there is no biblical basis whatsoever for what is taught and practiced in this movement. I noticed that my criticisms about the TACF have been recently removed by the user who praised that church. Please explain why? Everything I wrote was true. In brief, if you want to follow the teachings of John Arnott then do so; however it has to be accepted that these beliefs are not consistent with Christian doctrines that have been held for the last 2 thousand years. Sorry if you don’t like. http://medlibrary.org/medwiki/Talk:Toronto_Blessing Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship is "another weird cult"- Richard Cleaver A number of emails have been coming in to me from a Walter Kambulow asking me, in caps no less, “SO DO THE WORLD A GREAT FAVOR AND LOOK INTO TORONTO AIRPORT CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP OR TORONTO AIRPORT CHURCH OF THE FLESH AS I CALL IT”. I do not know the man, nor do I know much about the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship. I do remember, about 10 or 12 years ago, that the pastor of our church took a field trip to this “movement” and came back shocked at what was taking place. People were barking and clucking. Acting as though they were possessed. And not in a good way. Another weird cult. Apparently, TACF are suing this Walter fellow for several million dollars. According to their statement of claim, Kambulow falsely and maliciously published, to specific individuals, which may or may not include me, and to the world at large on the internet false and defamatory words. The defamatory words apparently included things like adultery, rape, robbery, exploitation,

However, Wikipedia has a fascinating entry on the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship which reads, in part: The church is also the source of the so-called Golden Sword Prophecy. In its most visible form it overcomes worshippers with outbreaks of laughter, weeping, groaning, shaking, falling, ‘drunkenness,’ and even behaviours that have been described as a ‘cross between a jungle and a farmyard.’” If that is what these folks at TACF stand for, then I would stay far away. Here is one perspective that claims the group is led by false teachers. Richard Cleaver http://www.richardcleaver.com/?cat=3

Schedule “F” Page 4 of 6 It’s to be noted that On June 29, 1994, in Rockville Centre, L.I., John Arnott spoke on many of the different origins of the outpouring that came to be known as the "Toronto Blessing." He and his wife, Carol, had spent much of 1993 and the beginning of January 1994 seeking the Lord for a fresh anointing. They spent all of their mornings with Him. They had been powerfully impacted many years previously by Kathryn Kuhlman, and then more recently, by John Wimber, "who really taught us that the anointing was available for everyone and in the context of team ministry things could be much improved [John Arnott to Richard Riss, Sept. 19, 1994]." The Arnotts were friends of Benny Hinn, who also had an impact upon them. - Richard Reiss, A History of the Revival of 1992-1995 It is a fact that John Wimber later severed relationship with the Toronto Airport Vineyard which was later renamed Toronto Airport Christian Fellows and had them leave his denomination (Association of Vineyard Churches), because of excesses. So the defendant is not alone in his criticism of TACF as a genuine Christian Church but rather a cult which it is! CBC News Fifth television documentary has portrayed Benny Hinn as a liar, a thief and a man of no integrity - http://www.cbc.ca/fifth/main_miracles.html Apologetics Index, Back to the Bible, Banner Ministries, Biblical Discernment Ministries, Cephas Ministry, Christ Church Virginia, Christian Witness, Christian News Today, Discernment Ministries Incorporated, Deception in the Church, Firm Foundation, God Net, In Plain Site, Personal Freedom Outreach, Sheep Trax Media and many others and most Christian Apologetic web sites, even since 1995, have been reporting that TACF is a cult, influenced by demons and has false teachings! Orthodox Christian Information Center which is not a cult has reported:

Schedule “F” Page 5 of 6 The Toronto Blessing (or TB, as it is now often called) is a worldwide spiritual movement within Pentecostal and charismatic churches. It is named after the Toronto Airport Vineyard Church in Toronto, Canada, where the movement first hit the headlines in January 1994. Its advocates claim that the Blessing is a "sovereign move of God", a new and glorious work of the Holy Spirit. Many of them call it a "revival." However, others, conscious that scarcely any unbelievers are being converted through this movement, do not call it a revival, but a "renewal" of the Church. Many of them add that this renewal of the Church is being done by God as a prelude to a revival. Others claim that this is more than a mere renewal of the Church; it is God bringing to birth a new super-Church for the end times—a view which fits in with the doctrine known as "Latter-Rain Restorationism," which has been around in Pentecostal and charismatic circles for some time. The claim is also made by many advocates of the TB that those who resist this great move of God will, if they persevere in their resistance, be guilty of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, and various dreadful things will happen to them. What exactly will happen is often left rather vague; the language used is that opposers will be "swept aside," "crushed," that sort of thing. On his video, The Coming Revival, Rodney Howard-Browne warns that opposers will be struck dumb and blind. … I would suggest that we can account for the TB by a combination of hypnotic power and influence, and supernatural demonic power. To keep ourselves safe against such deceptive movement, we need a true understanding of how the Holy Spirit works in the believer; and Scripture leads us to the conclusion that He works through the Word of God, through the truth, and that the first point of contact that the Spirit uses in us is our minds, our understandings. We must therefore reject all so-called spiritual experiences that by-pass or short-circuit the mind, or are

Schedule “F” Page 6 of 6 not produced by the spiritual application of truth to the mind and heart. We must make sure that we have a spirituality that gives a prominent place to our minds, to understanding the truth, and we must make sure that Scripture is central in our relationship with God, and also in our worship of God, through the preaching and teaching of God's word. Isaiah [Esaias] 8:20: "To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this Word, it is because there is no light in them. http://www.orthodoxinfo.com/inquirers/toronto.aspx
