Journey 10 - MIND AS A DARK MATTER OBJECT This chapter contains a radical new theory theo ry of the mind, which is that the mind is a natural object, made of dark matter, having size, shape, internal structure and regular functions in such everyday events as perception and sleep. It has mass, mass, conservation of energy and powers. powers. It weighs about 21 grams. I define "the mind" as "the non-physical no n-physical part of a person seen by b y someone with really good HSP." HSP." The mind is a structure of chakras, nadi and auras, more or less as taught for thousands of years by Yogis. We We could also reasonably define "the mind" as that which reincarnates in Dr. Stevenson's studies. Only further research can tell us if these these two definitions definitions refer to the same thing. It is  possible that only part of the "energy body" body" seen by HSP reincarnates. It is also possible that the spirit that reincarnates is not visible v isible by HSP at all. My first hypothesis about the mind is that it is made of dark matter and that is why it is invisible and intangible. We We know that astronomical dark matter has mass; therefore, it is reasonable to suppose that the dark matter of the mind also has mass. Duncan MacDougall, M.D. o f Haverhill, Mass., made the only test of this idea, published in the April 1907 issue of American Medicine. This was a small study, study, of 6 subjects. The best for his purposes p urposes were dying of tuberculosis, since they did not struggle struggle or move around on his delicate scales. scales. He found a sudden mass change at death of about 21 grams, origin origin of the title of the 2003 movie "21 Grams." The MacDougall experiment shows that this hypothesis is testable, but we cannot draw any conclusions from such a limited study. study. See the text of his article at http://www.wizardofeyez.com/soul.html. http://www.wizardofeyez.com/soul.html. Whatever the non-physical part of a person is, whether we call it mind or energy body, it has size, shape, internal structure, conservation of energy, energy, and mass. It has two wa ys of interacting with matter, matter, and one way of interacting with other minds. I call these powers, since all three can receive or transmit, observe or create. To summarize: [1] Information interactions with matter take place via de Broglie waves. This is how the OBE  person sees. The radiation they see consists in the de Broglie vibes constantly generated by both ordinary and dark matter. The aura around the hands and the aura that stretches out from the eyes can absorb or emit de Broglie waves, wav es, absorbing information or pushing the probabilities for one  physical event over another an other.. W Wee acquire this psychic power by mere practice. [2] The mind can generate physical force by effortlessly twisting or bending the geodesics of spacetime. The sleep-dynamo does this every night in sleep. Every d ynamo or generator requires a resistant force to convert kinetic energy into another form such as nouonic energy. That force is a rhythmic distortion of the space-time geodesics in sync with the slow labored breathing of sleep, where the diaphragm and abdomen are pushing against this resistant force. Thus, we all have PK,  but only in an unconscious form. Twisting the higher dimensional geodesics of Hawking’s Hawking’s “Universe in a Nut Shell” accounts for teleportation. [3] Minds interact with one another primarily via the apparitional power. We We see people peop le as they see themselves, since everyone constantly emits their self body-image. By changing ones bod y image, one can change the way one looks, even in the body. The apparitional power can create apparitional reality of varying degrees. It can faithfully reproduce the ph ysical senses of taste and smell, as well

1

as touch and feel, sight and sound, but most apparitions studied by the va rious SPRs lack such a full degree of reality. reality. The heavens and hells experienced in NDEs are apparitional appa ritional realities. What one experiences upon death depends in part on expectation, and in part, on what friends and family who have gone before have prepared. Where are heavens and hells located? Right here, but on different astral planes. There is not a continuous astral dimension. Astral planes are more like discrete quantum states; each having a well developed astral past and future as well as a present, nicely decorated with apparitional creations in 3 spatial dimensions. This is not part of physics, not even the 21st Century variety. variety. Two of the strangest phenomena in PR are precognition and teleportation. Precognition is learning about something before it happens, and teleportation is the disappearance of an object at one place, and its instantaneous reappearance at another place, without traveling the intermediate space-time. Is there good evidence that precognition occurs? I don't know. This is another one I know from  personal experience. I have only known a very few legitimate psychics, and none of them had any control over their powers. One was a philosoph y student of mine, an undergraduate at USC in the 1960s. Precognitive flashes came to her spontaneously. Here is a typical one. It was the USC homecoming, in the Coliseum. The Queen and her court were sitting on the back of convertibles that drove along the runner's track that surrounded the football field. They came pretty fast around the curve. Suddenly, Suddenly, my student stood up and began screaming. Thirty seconds later, the whole crowd was standing up and screaming, because the Queen fell out of the car and hit her head on the concrete ring which surrounds the track. She wasn't seriously hurt, fortunately, fortunately, but one can imagine that pandemonium reigned. For me personally, this is proof of precognition. It suggests that  precognition does not usually reach very far into the future. In the apparition studies by the SPR, crisis apparitions often came before or after the event, by as much as 12 hours. The mind seems to exist in a four dimensional astral reality. reality. One possible explanation of apports involves a fifth dimension. Imagining five dimensions is not easy, easy, so consider this analogy. Suppose we reduce the physical world to a sheet of paper, with width representing space, and length representing time. Physics gives us the laws of this sheet of paper, and everything known to physics ph ysics is on that sheet of paper. Thus, to get from one point in space-time to another, one must traverse all the points in between on the sheet of paper, and we cannot exceed the Einsteinian speed limit that is the speed of light. Suppose we bend the sheet of paper in 3dimensional space (which represents 5-dimensional space) so that two points separated on the sheet of paper come in contact in 3-dimensions. 3-dimensions. At that contact point, an object could levitate levitate across,  producing teleportation. This is the mode of interstellar travel in DUNE, by Frank Herbert. Unfortunately, Unfortunately, this theory of apportation does not work. If there were only one humanoid hu manoid in the universe doing apports at any given time, it might work. That is pretty pretty much true in DUNE. In the real world, there are dozens of species of humanoids visiting us from distant stars and they can all apport at once. In the Chinese studies, there are four girls doing apports at the same time, in the same place. With all of them bending space-time at once, there is no telling where anything would go. All we really know is that levitation and apports are associated. People who can do one can often do the other. other. Uri Geller, for instance. Poltergeists produce both levitation and apports.

2

My theory of apports uses some ideas from String Theory. In his book The Universe in a Nutshell, Stephen Hawking draws a picture of the history of the universe as a somewhat lumpy and wrinkled nutshell. As I understand it, imaginary time is on the vertical axis. The surface of the nutshell represents the 3 spatial dimensions, and they could be P-branes or M-branes. Such ideas are part of  string theory and its successors that attribute 10 or 11 dimensions to space, all but 3 coiled up so they are not even as big as a proton. In the latest theories, one or more of these extra dimensions is infinite, and becomes our higher dimensionality of space. In Hawking's nutshell, the shell is a "brane" of space-time, while the interior of the nu tshell represents a fifth spatial dimension. Apports Apports could take a shortcut through this fifth dimension. The mind can effortlessly distort the geodesics, and is aware of the higher dimensionality, invisible to the physical senses. One kind of distortion causes levitation. A distortion distortion in a higher highe r dimensionality opens the portal po rtal to the otherwise hidden fifth dimension. From the Chinese studies, we know that the unconscious mind knows how to do a controlled apport from here to there. In the remove-the-cigarettes performance, performance, the Chinese girls were were able to target specific items on the the "here" side. In the flower-bud-into-teacups flower-bud-into-teacups performance, the Chinese girls were able to acquire the right objects, ob jects, without knowing where they were consciously, and put them in the right place, on the "there" side. Time-Travel: Time-Travel: This idea about apports and precognition suggests the possibility of time-travel. Why not apport an object, even a person, to a different time as well as a d ifferent place? This leads to the  paradoxes of an endless series of "Terminator" movies. I have never heard of a single instance of a  physical object arriving from the future or the past. As Stephen Hawking says, if time-travel were  possible, tourists from the future would be everywhere. Allowing time travel is a fatal flaw for any theory, theory, such as General Relativity which does have h ave time travel solutions, as shown by Kurt Gödel. The rest of this chapter is devoted to the proposition that time is not a real dimension; though as an imaginary dimension it is very useful in physics. Relativity is compatible with the concept of a universal, simultaneous "now." Relativistic effects may slow down or speed up clocks but people never vanish into the past or future as a result. They always remain here in the “now.” “now.” Relativity only shows that we cannot always determine determine what time it is from any one clock. What about those rare reports of people suddenly being in the past for a few moments? This is an apparitional experience. They have witnessed an apparition of the past, which might turn out to be the real nature of the so-called Akashic Records. What about the future seen b y Seers or Prophets? This too is an apparitional experience. Prophets are witnessing an apparitional reality. The apparitional future is the probable future, the expected future, given what has already happened. The student driver's intent intent to drive fast around the the curve had consequences. Thus, it already existed existed in the astral plane where where a Seer could see it. It is the probable, not inevitable inevitable future, since the driver could have realized he was going too fast and slowed down. Some of what a Seer sees may have a symbolic rather than a literal meaning, and an d the meaning may  be personal rather than objective. Such visions may be warnings, or visions of possibilities, not inevitabilities. The future is never fixed, and is always subject to change, until it actually occurs in  physical reality.

3

A Seer like Nostradamus Nostradamus looking into the "future" is not looking at the physical ph ysical future, because that does not exist. He is looking at one possible future in the astral planes. There are man y other   possible futures in the astral planes, such as the one found in the book SPIRITWALKER, SPIRITWALKER, by Henry Wesselman. Henry is apparently a Seer...or a novelist. In either case, he has given us a very convincing and detailed world 5000 years into the future, aftermath of a great catastrophe, in which the climate of the Earth switched to global tropical, melting all the ice, flooding all the coastal cities and low-lying states and countries, and releasing the creatures from the zoos. There seem to be only two small bands of humans that survived. One is a combination of Inuit and Norse fisherman, and the other consists in Hawaiian natives who had not forgotten how to live off the land. Everyone e lse has perished. The ancient cities still exist under water. The surviving humans have returned to a hunter-gatherer way of life. Civilization has vanished. This is a convincing piece of science fiction, but the reality is that human life takes place in the midst of a seemingly endless series of Ice Ages, each one separated by ten to twenty thousand years of warm interglacial climate. If this interglacial lasts the same length as the last one, then it should  be about over. However, there is a great deal of variation among Ice Ages. The glacial part of an ice age ends abruptly, but starts slowly, slowly, with oscillations of the climate that steadily grow in amplitude. Incidentally, Incidentally, we would now be b e entering a warmer phase of climate even without the industrial revolution. The smallest and shortest of the Milancovitch cycles produces a regular sine wave with a period of about 2500 years. There was a warm peak at 6500, another about 4000, and the last about 1500 years ago. The cold valleys have been at 5200, 2900, and 300 years ago. We are now entering the next warm part, and it will last for centuries, no matter what we do. Humans and greenhouse gases are just the icing on the cake. After all, carbon dioxide is a rare trace gas, only 345 parts per million of the atmosphere. We shouldn’t think of it as a reservoir that  just fills up with greenhouse gases. Plant tissue builds itself mainly mainly from carbon dioxide, despite its rarity. rarity. What counts is the speed of the cycling of this rare gas through the biosphere. During glacial  periods, there is a correlation between temperature and greenhouse gases, but which is the cause and which the effect? Geologists believe plate tectonics and the Milancovitch cycles of the suns orbit cause ice ages. The slow oscillation of eccentricity between circular and elliptical paces the ice ages, since it has a period of 100,000 years. There is also the precession precession of the equinoxes, and the nutation (or nodding) of the angle made by the spin vector. vector. Mankind can do nothing about plate tectonics or the Milancovitch cycles, so we had better prepare for the next ice age, and indeed, a whole series of them stretching for 50 million years into the future. The problems associated with man-made global warming are nothing compared to living in a fully glacial climate. That is why our population explosion is the nu mber one challenge for humanity today. today. Even a warm interglacial may not be able to support 6 billion humans indefinitely, indefinitely, and it is doubtful that a glacial period period could support more than a few million. The next ice age may have already started, with mild climate oscillations that will gradually get worse. End of digression. Why is time travel NOT possible? It is because the physical past and future do not exist. There is only one physical universe; the time is always “now” and it is in constant motion and change. Time is a human invention that arises from our memory of the past and our expectations of the future. Time is not a dimension because nothing moves along it. We We find certain cyclical changes that help

4

us refer to past or future events. We We can count the number of cycles of the moon since X happened or predict how many cycles of the moon before Y will happen. Thus, we invent time. Now let us turn back to mind as a dark object. TESTS OF THE PRANA PUMP: Theory is essential to science and that is why Psychical Research is not yet a full-fledged science. Theories suggest new experiments. Thus, they extend our  experience, especially if the experiments are successful. My theory of the mind as a natural object has testable consequences. It requires a physicist who can work the equations of General Relativity to test the existence of the sleep dynamo. We need someone who can calculate how much warping of space-time it will take to resist about one poundal of force. We might be able to observe the warping of space in sync with a sleeper's breathing, with the right equipment. The warping may be enough to bend a laser light  beam to a target miles away passing over the ab domen, if we examine the target dot under high magnification. Do this experiment successfully, successfully, and win a Nobel Prize. A sensitive gravity meter  mounted over a sleeping body bod y (but not touching it) may show gravity oscillations in sync with  breathing. If either of these experiments works, physicists will be able to produce Psi phenomena on demand. That would cause an a n intellectual revolution, with the final defeat of reduction and the admission into the textbooks and universities of the reproducible facts from Psychical Research. Another part of the theory has to do with de Broglie vibrations, absorbed or emitted. If you don’t understand de Broglie waves, read the chapter on “Physics Without Without Paradox” or at least that part explaining de Broglie waves. I shall describe a device for testing de Broglie phenomena. Build a sparking machine with a cyclic  pulse of voltage, much as in a car, in which the humidity and spark gap are controlled, so that one can turn a knob and bring the cathode and anode closer or further apart, or raise and lower the voltage. Provide electronics to tell us what percentage of the cycles produce sparks, averaged over  ten cycles or so. Adjust the knob until we are getting fifty percent, so the odds of sparking or not sparking are the same. This is a macrostate that reflects a 50-50 probability on the quantum state level. With an hour or two of practice each day for six months, anyone should be able to push the  probabilities to all sparking or no sparking. Once this talent is learned, the practitioner could make engines quit. I base my six months estimate on the time it took Russian children to learn de rmooptic vision (seeing with the hands) since that is also a de Broglie effect. The sparking machine provides the first produce-on-demand Psi control of nature that anyone can learn by simple practice. That might be worth a letter to NATURE NATURE too. With With practice, we should all be b e able to learn to do spoon bending like Uri Geller, especially if we had him as a teacher. All the material properties of spoons or anything else are due to the de Broglie vibrations of the component atoms and molecules and crystals. Under a microscope, one can see the disorderly collection of domains that make up a composite material like steel. Somehow, Somehow, Uri Geller's aura knows how to change this disorder to a more orderly state, a lower energy state, where the domains can slide past one another and allow the metal to flow like molten glass. If this happens on one side and not the other, the spoon will spontaneously bend. If it happen s right through the spoon, gravity can bend it, or make it drop off. This is a de Broglie effect, rather than a

5

space-warping effect, since Uri Geller and other spoon-benders have this po wer under conscious control. Levitation and apports also happen around Uri under some circumstances, but without conscious control on his part. Convergence of physics and psionics: psionics: Experiments on the mind may provide tests of the most most speculative theories of physics. The sleep dynamo experiment is a test of the reality of dark matter. Teleportation provides evidence for some versions of String Theory, those that have extra spatial dimensions of unlimited extent. These extra dimensions are not far off, nor confined to minute subatomic realms. They are all around us all the time. Physical objects, like like eyes, cannot see them. However, mind has the capability of warping higher dimensional geodesics as well as those of  familiar space-time. We don't see this extra dimension, but the mind knows how to travel through it, on some deeply sub-conscious sub-conscious level. In addition, since these extra spatial spatial dimensions have only space and no time, it takes no time to take shortcuts through them, even e ven to the other side of the universe. It is ironic that Psychical research could provide the first evidence bo th for Dark Matter and for  String Theory. Theory. The mind has to be Dark Matter, since it is invisible invisible and intangible. And teleportation requires the extra spatial dimensions which are an integral part of String String Theory. Theory. Dark  Matter apparently has a very close connection to the geodesics, both those of ordinary space-time, and the geodesics geode sics of the extra dimensions of String Theory. Theory.
