Communication barriers No obstruction for the operator Visually as well as oral (walky-talky) communication Lack of supervision The competent supervision with relevant section of MI (manufactuer's instruction / manual) shall be available Imbalance of tower crane Before removing the connectors of the fish plate (i.e Tower head to mast connection) balancing of the tower crane shall be done by mounting one mast piece over the monorail and lifting the other mast piece with the hook block with adjustment of the trolley (radius).

Protective measures to be taken

1. Use PPE like safety belts, lifeline, helmets, safety shoes, etc. 2. Obtain a permit before starting the erection work. 3. Keep the work place neat & clean. 4. Avoid movement on Mast. 5. Remove the scrap immediately. 6. Provide proper working space (min 0.6m). 1. All tools to be carried in a tool -kit bag. 2. Do not throw or drop materials from height. 3. Remove scrap from the mast. 4. Ensure wearing of PPE' by the workers at low level. Engage trained, experienced and authorized operators, signal man and riggers. All the workers shall undergo required medical and physical test Only load tested cranes, tools and tackles to be used. Use of Tag lines shall be ensured during material handling. Load to be lifted must be as per load chart/ less than SWL for the particular radius. Adequate Lighting and illumination to be maintained during the work at night. Proper housekeeping to be maintained No obstruction for the operator Visually as well as oral (walky-talky) communication Ensure supervision during loading of the crane components Crane to be erected on firm base or rigid surface As far as possible avoid live electrical cables to pass over the area of loading, if exists, then the cable should be damage free and routed properly with tripping arrangement.
