DIAGNOSIS –  TEMPERATURE 

Check the Temperature 1. Dorsal side above the elbow 2. LI 10 area 3. Palm 4. Back side of the hand 5. Ren 22

DIAGNOSIS –  COLOR / TEXTURE 

Check the color of the forearm



Feel the texture of the skin/muscle



Check the color of the veins



Redness = Inflammation



Blue = Blood Stagnation

COMMON PULSES FOUND IN PAIN CONDITIONS 

Long 



 A pulse that extends proximally to the chi positions or distally to the cun positions

Scattered 

Weak, shapeless pulse



May or may not be deep

COMMON PULSES FOUND IN PAIN CONDITIONS 

Wiry 



Straight pulse that is moderately thick 

Little thicker than a steel wire pulse



Thinner than a thick pulse

Steel Wire Pulse  

Thin, long and tight  Amplitude is low, but the tension can be felt
