K.S. Krishn[murti s[ying “Moon in^i][t_s Qu_r_nt’s Min^ in KP Hor[ry”

T

his journal was launched nearly two years ago to stop the fraud and misleading propagation by select few in the name of KP astrology. It is easy to notice these elements in the form of self-styled advisors and reference givers on the internet.

In December 2012, in one of the internet based KP magazine a premeditated ‘fraud’ was committed by a self-styled ‘advisor’ of KP that Moon in KP horary cannot indicate the querent’s mind. There was also some weak logic provided in that baseless article. This ‘advisor’ concluded that use of horary Moon’s signification to understand the querent’s mind has not been applied in KP Reader VI. This is the biggest bluff and fraud of 2012 in the name of KP, which tantamount to insult of late K.S. Krishnamurti and distortion of his writings. In this Editorial, I am providing a number of scanned pieces from the KP Reader VI, 1970 Edition where late K.S. Krishnamurti himself has used horary Moon to understand the mind of the querent and from the famous book, Further Lights on Nakshatra Chintamani by late C.R. Bhatt. However, let me elaborate as to what we mean by “querent’s mind” or as KSK used to call—“Mathi” and its relation to genuineness of a horary query or question. The very edifice of Horary (or Prashna, as it is called in India) is based on the fundamental premise that a querent carries with herself the seed of the answer. The astrologer only deciphers it. The astrologer, by some unknown Divine plan, sits for analysis at a time when the planetary combinations are such that foretells the correct answer to the querist’s question. In KP Horary system (1-108 previously by KSK, and now 1-249), the number indicates the 1st House cusp only and the remaining 11 house cusps are determined based on the Latitude of the astrologer’s position. The 9 planetary positions are based on the time of judgment of the astrologer and it is exactly here that the role of Moon is important. So, KP Horary number has no relation with the position of Moon, except that the number decides the first house cusp. Moon at the time of judgment is much like any other planet. However, Moon’s starlord and sublord is the Dasa and Bhukti lord of the horary chart. Further, Moon and its starlord are important Ruling Planets. Now here comes the role of the querent’s mind and the issue of “genuineness”. Firstly, not all querists can articulate clearly what exactly they want to ask the astrologer. Some questions remain unspoken. These are “muk prashna” (untold question). Moon’s signification in the horary chart can reveal it. Secondly, sometimes the querists does not intentionally speak a part of the question due to social reasons or taboo. In these cases too, the Moon’s signification reveals the nature of the query. Lastly, a querist may intentionally or otherwise ask something which is not really perturbing her mind. It could be that she is unable to articulate or, in the extreme, wants to test the astrologer. Here, the mismatch with Moon’s signification and the querist’s stated question will raise a doubt about the genuineness.

Jan-Mar 2013

These rules are primary lessons that one learns from his Guru in astrology. I am providing below a few scanned pieces from KP Reader VI: Horary Astrology, 1970 Edition authored by late K.S. Krishnamurti wherein he himself has advocated the use of KP Horary Moon to know the “mind” of the querent. It is for the intelligent astrologer to find the mismatch between spoken words and the Moon’s signification to catch the genuineness of the query, much what KSK has documented in his practice in Astrology & Athrishta magazines and his Readers.

The above texts are from KP Reader VI: Horary Astrology 1970 Edition, Pages 287 and 195 where KSK has used Moon to know the mind of the querist and ascertain the “genuineness of the query” both in 249 as well as 108 system. Quite contrary to that KP-quack’s view, KSK has used the horary Lagna for ascertaining fulfilment of horary wishes. Many a times we are told that 11th house in horary is the sole house to show fulfilment of wishes, but that not fully correct. See for yourself how Moon is used for knowing the genuineness of the query because Moon shows the mind—Mathi—that is, what is the “real” reason that a querent has approached the astrologer. KP Reader VI is replete with many such examples but this self-styled KP advisor purposely misled thousands of KP followers through his friend’s electronic magazine.

Vol. 2 (4)

Jan-Mar 2013

The above two pages have been scanned from Further Lights on Nakshatra Chintamani by late Chandrakant Ratneswar Bhatt, 1st Edition, 1980. You can easily see that late Bhatt have pointed out that horary Moon is linked with the querent’s mind and truthfulness of the query posed to the astrologer. As an example, I have shown page 193 (though in his book he has been checking Moon’s connection the required houses for genuineness). Readers can see that in the example of page 193 the question was about success in obtaining Green card. Success is denoted by 11th house and the horary Moon’s position in 11th was used as a corroborating factor about the truthfulness of the query. It is beyond any doubt that real KP astrologers first look at the horary Moon to find the genuineness of the query and then looks at other parameters of the chart. This is a standard practice that is prevalent in Guru-Shishya Parampara in India where a KP Guru of KSK Gharana (lineage) hands down the divine science of KP astrology through hands-on practice. Unfortunately, this ‘self-proclaimed advisor of KP’ has no astrology learning or teaching background and simply by being a friend to an Editor of a monthly magazine (who probably trusts him blindly), is churning our rubbish after rubbish in the name of KP astrology. In the next page let us see what is late KSK’s view about the philosophy of Horary astrology. KSK is very clear that query asked and astrologer’s judgment time is strongly inter-related.

10

JASA

Vol. 2 (4)

Jan-Mar 2013

The above scanned page is from KP Reader VI: Horary Astrology, 1970 Edition Page 294. Here one can see that KSK talks about the relation of the query (which is indicated by the 1-249 or 1-108 number system) with the planetary position available at the time the astrologer sits for judgment. Hence the statement made by the advisor that “the belief of Moon at the time of judgment indicating the mind of querist is found unreasonable as the querist does not play any role in selecting the time of judgment for the astrologer which decides the Moon position” is due to complete lack of any formal astrology training received from Guru-Shishya Parampara or formal astrology training tradition. It is very clear that this self-styled KP advisor does not know the basics of KP Horary.

Time has come to boycott these frauds that are spreading false KP knowledge by distorting the meaning of the printed KP material with their perverted opinions. All true KP lovers and learners should expose these people in every forum and tear open their false veil of KP knowledge. In this New Year 2013, let all of us take a pledge that we will not allow anyone to insult and denigrate late K.S. Krishnamurti by silently accepting distorted, perverted comments and opinions coming from people who have dubious backgrounds. JASA is the voice for all of you. Apart from these, you will find your favourite authors in this issue who are all well established in their fields of astrology. They are the authors who have contributed and shaped the world of KP following the footsteps of K.S.K in a dedicated manner. Read each of the articles and enrich yourself. Congratulations to the learned astrologers, who accurately predicted, the return of Barack Obama as the President of the United States. There are a number of views that, President Obama is a reincarnation of the late President John F Kennedy. In the previous article, we have indicated some of the similarities in the lives of President Abraham Lincoln and President John F Kennedy. This is due to the reincarnation of President Lincoln as President Kennedy, we believe. In The birth chart of President John F Kennedy, Sun is placed in the sign of Taurus, 8th bhava. The Moon was in Leo in the 11th bhava. Moon’s North Node, Rahu was placed in Sagittarius and the south node Kethu was in Gemini in conjunction with Pluto. JASA Vol. 2 (4) Jan-Mar 2013 The position of Sun in Taurus shows that the native wants to find the certainty of the eternal self rather than relying too heavily on maternal matters such as money and positions. The Moon in Leo shows the power, leadership qualities and highly independent, and knows how to live from the heart but may need to avoid the emotional games practiced in the past. Again, it is an indication of the power of engagement in the past, ruled over many subjects. The Moon and the south node of Moon, Kethu are keys to the past. The native had been here for many times before, in his other lives. This Moon is receiving a square aspect from Venus. Therefore, the life is pleasant with lovely activities. In a birth chart, the twelfth house is the place where you spend every thing, which you have earned from the 1st to the 10th houses and collected in the eleventh. The 12th bhava is thus the place you spend in this life. Twelfth bhava of President John F Kennedy is owned by Mercury and is in the 8th bahava, in conjunction with Mars, the lord of 3rd and 8th Nirayana Bhava Chart Of Late President Lincoln.

In this birth chart, the Sun is in Aquarius. The Moon is in Capricorn in the 12th bhava shows that he was a wise mentor for humanity. The south node of Moon, Kethu is in Aries shows an independent character. This Kethu is receiving opposition aspect from Uranus. When we consider the dasa balances in these two charts, we note as follows; According to President Abraham Lincoln’s chart, President John F Kennedy was born during Venus, Jupiter, Moon, Venus dasa, bukthis, Antara and sookshama respectively. The Prenatal epoch of President John F Kennedy had occurred during Moon, Venus Venus, and Moon period. According to President John F Kennedy’s chart, he was born during Venus, Mercury, Venus Saturn dasa, bukthis, Antara and sookshama respectively. We could see that Venus and Moon had played a major role in both these births. 14

Dasa lord Venus was transiting in the Pre Natal Epoch chart with square aspect to the placement of Lincoln’s birth chart. Pre Natal Epoch Jupiter was in conjunction with Lincoln’s birth Kethu. Accordingly, we could see more similarities in the planetary position of Pre Natal Epoch of President John F Kennedy with the birth chart of President Abraham Lincoln. In the Birth chart of President Abraham Lincoln, Kethu is deposited in the 3rd bhava in the sign of Aries and in a star ruled by Venus. Lord of Aries Mars is deposited in Libra owned by Venus, in the 8th bhava. Venus is deposited in the second bhava. This Kethu in the 3rd shows some communication works, travelling, stay away from home, brothers etc; The signification of Mars with Kethu is what he had collected from his past life, to be settled or pay back. . His Kethu is receiving opposition aspect from Uranus, who is a joint ruler of Aquarius. This Mars is in the 8th shows leadership, war, and violence etc; Mars is deposited in a sign owned by Venus shows the friendly terms and friendly terms associated with his life and during competitions and elections. These are the remains from the past lives of President Abraham Lincoln. In the Birth chart of President John F Kennedy, Kethu is deposited in Gemini, in the 9th bhava and in conjunction with Pluto, the joint ruler of Scorpio. The lord of the sign Gemini, Mercury is deposited in the 8th bhava, Aries, owned by Mars and in conjunction with Mars. Kethu is deposited in a star of Rahu, in Sagittarius owned by Jupiter. These depositions are indicating the remains from the previous births of John F Kennedy, showing matters connected with communications, violence, competitions. The combinations of Mars, 3rd bhava and 8th bhavas of these charts indicate very good astrological similarities. According to these planetary and life event similarilties in the life patterns of these two 15

JASA Vol. 2 (4) Jan-Mar 2013 Presidents, we could clearly see that President John F Kennedy is an incarnation of President Abraham Lincoln, after a number of births in between.. According to eastern beliefs, this is an example of cause and effect explained in our religion in the acceptance of life after death. Moreover, this is the action and reaction as given in the laws of motion of the great scientist Sir Isack Newton. This time I want to share with the esteemed readers, one of my interesting experience in delineating a chart. As a policy, I seldom accept chart-reading for children because as far as my experience goes most of the questions put forth by the parents are silly , ranging from whether the child in future will become a scientist, doctor or an engineer or the President or PM of the country ? It is not practically possible for an ordinary mortal like me to reply such queries. However, this case was totally different. The man, a keralite well -employed in Gulf for quite a long time was here to consult me, somewhere in the beginning of 2012 , along with his wife, for some of his personal matter. In the course of consultation , he told me that he had three children and produced the charts . I didn’t show any interest but one chart caught my attention and that one is being discussed here.

Ma 06:13 Sa 28:47

Ascendant and its description In any horoscope , ascendant in general and ascendant lord in particular stands for “Physical body of the native” . In the given chart , ascendant falls in Libra ruled by Venus .

The weak ascendant lord ! Venus is in aquarius owned by a natural malefic Saturn , in a nodal asterism (shatabhikshak) . What aroused my interest was , ascendant lord Venus degree opposition to retrograde Saturn , the latter stationed in its detriment sign Leo in nodal asterism (Magha) . To wit, ascendant lord Venus is rendered extremely weak The angles are vacant. Ascendant receives the third House full sign parashari aspect of retrograde Saturn posited in its inimical sign Leo .

Strength of Asc. Sublord Sublord of the Ascendant is Rahu placed in the star of Mars, ruler of second and seventh Houses (maraka) . Importantly , Rahu is in the sub of Kethu that is a full representative of Sun , the badak (obstructive planet, empowered to kill the native ) . To cap it , the sublord of the ascendant is rendered very weak . In short, the ascendant , its lord , and ascendant sub lord are thoroughly spoiled .

JASA Strength of VIII cuspal sublord

Vol. 2 (4)

Jan-Mar 2013

Sublord of VIII is Me in the star and sub of Rahu posited in IV (ardha-ashtama or half of the 8th House , one of the trigons , 4, 8 &12). This does not augur well for a long life . Strength of Moon There is a popular saying among the astrologers of kerala “ Grahanamcha sarvesham Bhavayth Chandra balam sada “ Of all planets , the strength of Moon counts most . This is because , moon is like the engine oil of an engine .; and other planets to deliver their results moon need to be well-placed and strong . Moreover , strength of Moon is of paramount importance in the case of balarishta or infant mortality . Moon , no doubt , is waxing and is in Gemini ruled by natural benefic mercury , still its stationing in a nodal asterism (ardra) along with a natural malefic Mars and in opposition to Jupiter , a functional malefic for Lib ascendant was a matter of concern . Presence of Gaja Kesari Yoga Moon in angle to Jupiter is said to cause “Gaja Kesari “ yoga , considered to be a life conferring yoga and general belief is, one born with it will see 100 full moon or will complete 84 years . However , the said yoga is marred in this case since Jupiter one of the constituents of the yoga owns a dusthana or Trika (unfriendly ) sixth house . Jupiter for Libra Ascendant ! Jupiter is not a well -meaning planet for Libra Ascendant , as per classics . This is due to two reasons. 1, Jupiter is the ruler of third house (tri) and sixth (shad) house. 2. Libra (ascendant signifying physical body ) as well as its eighth sign Taurus (longevity) is ruled Venus. Jupiter is regarded as hostile or enemy to Venus .

Ongoing dasha of Jupiter ! At the time of consultation (around jan 2012 ) , the girl was in Jup-Jup Jup is placed in Sagittarius , its own sign , in the third house . The point to be noted is Jupiter is being aspected by Mars , the first grade maraka (ruler of 2H & 7H ) Importantly , Mars occupies Gemini , its detrimental or inimical sign and this increases the maraka potency of Mars . Stellar signification of Jupiter ! Jupiter is in the star of Venus and thereby get a signification of Asc, IV &VIII 20

JASA Vol. 2 (4) IV & VIII signification spells trouble and indicates suffering .

Jan-Mar 2013

Giving preponderance to severe affliction due to mars as well as the ominous stellar significations obtained by Jupiter , death need to strike in Jupiter dasha in Jupiter sub period itself

Transit Jupiter in Rohini nakshatra and activation of Moon ! Jupiter’s Transit is of extreme importance since it is the dasha as well as subperiod ruler .It was observed that Jupiter the dasha cum subperiod ruler is to Transit Taurus by may 2012. Mark the point sign Taurus at birth is afflicted by natal Saturn. Transit Saturn from Virgo was afflicting natal Moon The initial observation of late Prof KS Krishnamurthy was “when a planet transit in a Nakshatra, it will highlight the matter signified by the nakshatra lord “ Here Jupiter is third house (breathing) ruler as well as sixth house (disease) ruler. So when Jupiter , the dasha cum subperiod ruler , the lord of 3H (breathing) and 6H (disease) transit in Taurus , the adverse 8H (danger/death) in Rohini nakshatra ruled by Moon, it will bring to limelight the energy of natal Moon . Mark the point , natal Moon was afflicted by Transit Saturn in the beginning of 2012 . Moon is in Gemini, an airy sign in ardra nakshatra (vayu/wind also for infections ) . Moon at birth is afflicted by Jupiter , the ruler of 3H (beathing) and 6H (disease ) and by mars (cough) . Can’t all these lead to some health crisis , especially something affecting breathing or lungs ? Of course there are several karakathwas or significations for moon; but read in conjunction with its placement in an airy sign , lung related disease suits best . Square by Transit Rahu Transit Rahu will be squaring natal venus , ascendant lord cum lord of eight house of longevity . The square will be exact in the first week of July 2012 Transit Jup in the region Ven—Moon—Moon . Natal moon getting activated . Natal moon afflicted by Transit Saturn (hardening of mucus , sputum formation) This could prove fatal and the girl may die due to some lung related disease .

Ascendant lord getting weak in Transit ! Venus, the Ascendant lord will be getting weak by Transiting in Taurus, the adverse eighth House, from 28 Mar 2012 All these were my wild guess, purely speculative but based on sound astrological reasoning . It may also be noted the consultation was not for the girl, who was hale and healthy and whom I have never met in life. 21

JASA Vol. 2 (4) Jan-Mar 2013 Without giving the slightest hint, that threat to longevity was expected; it was requested to give feed back whether something unusual happens in the first week of july 2012. Actual outcome Being rich they could afford frequent travels between Gulf and Kerala . In one of their visit to Kerala, ,the girl fell ill that later developed into pneumonia and passed away on 4th July 2012 . Transit as advocated by prof KSK is a vast area that opens many secrets of prediction. The scribe by publishing this sad incident earnestly hopes that research oriented astrologers will pay more attention to Transit (as per KP) This write-up is respectfully dedicated to V S Kalyanaraman IPS (retd), the unselfish soul , who use to contribute nearly 75% of articles every month , since several years in leading astrological magazines from south India , under several pseudo names , for the sole objective of promoting Indian Astrology . May his diatribe increase? The Greatness of Dr Andrew our beloved editor, is he has an open mind to research as well as innovative ideas as distinct from those who quote KP rule book every time and pass destructive criticism without contributing anything constructive. An open mind is a sound mind when it comes to learning and this fact is acknowledged by the progressively increasing number of the readers of this esteemed journal , from round the globe . Wishing a Happy Prosperous and Peaceful New year to JASA family , let me conclude the write-up .

Editor’s Note We highly encourage such illuminating articles where the author discusses his rich experience as an  astrology practitioner. Astrology is a science which can provide rich and diverse experience, which  may sometimes border on the Divine. We need to capture these and share it with the whole world  and give full credit to the authors who are blessed and experienced in such methods.

Rule: If Jeeva or Sareera planets of Mercury, Saturn, Jupiter, 10th house, 11th house are Connected to 2,5,9,10 and 11th houses, then the native becomes an eminent astrologer and great philosopher, with a spiritual bent of mind and service oriented.(Dr.NVRA Raja's Stellar Effects in Astrology Jeeva and Sareera page No.423) Jupiter is the lords of 9th and 12th houses, Jupiter’s Jeeva and Sareera planets are Venus and Mars. Yoga karaka Jupiter’s Sareera planet Mars happen to be Ascendant lord posited in his exalted house Capricorn (10th house) that too in his own star and aspects Lagna and 2nd lord Venus, 4th and 5th house., This combination had given Guruji an intellectual courage and positive thought and critical analytical abilities and Vak siddhi and intuitive power. The best Yoga karaka Jupiter for Aries ascendant is posited in his own house and aspects Ascendant. This causes Lakshmi Yoga and If Jupiter directly aspects the Ascendant, especially from his own house, the native will possess a sack load of punya. Jupiter bestows scholarship in astrology, philosophical mind, and good children. Jupiter’s Jeeva planet Venus and is the lord of 2nd house posited in Ascendant and being aspected by Jupiter himself from 9th house clearly explain something more than mere perfection of astrology and positive application theory in all his writings and indicates remarkable foresights .Connection of Jupiter to 2nd house is important for giving correct and positive prediction. Mercury is the karaka for astrology, intelligence and mathematical analysis. Mercury is in his own star Revati. Satwic planet Mercury attained Satwic guna, and hence it will deliver good and favourable results pertaining to its karakathwa even though it is posited in its debilitation house. Mercury’s Jeeva and Sareera planets are Sun and Saturn, (5th and 10th lords), both planets are in mutual Sookshama nakshatra Parivarthana .Mercury’s connection to Fifth house helped Guruji to interpret and decode secrets in Astrology and also pushed him to associate with eminent Naadi astrologers. 25

One day, as usual, the sage went to the seashore to meditate. A small boy who came to play on the seaside came up to him and said, “These birds play so freely near you. Won’t you catch one and give it to me?” The Sage agreed. The next day when went to meditate on the seashore, all the seagulls flew well above his head; not one bird came anywhere near him! The birds were able to sense his intention from the waves that emanated from his body!” Your energy field will also touch people. Make sure you have good energy and create good vibrations around you. A querent who was eager to settle in a foreign country asked me to check when he will be able to travel to a particular country I told the querent to intimate any horary number between 1 to 249 he told the number as 7 ,Accordingly I made the horary chart on dated 27-6-2008 at 3:31PM at Chandigarh. MOON REVEALS THE NATURE OF QUERY. Moon in the sign of Jup lord of 9 Moon is posited in 12 th house and moon is in the star of Mercury lord of 3 As Moon is linked with 3,9 [long journey] and 12[stay in foreign land] so Moon reveals true nature of query about foreign travel. ASCENDANT SUBLORD SHOWS THE EFFORT OF QUERENT Asc sublord Jup in 9 and it’s in the star of Ven in 3 lord of 2 and 7 and it’s in the sub of Mercury Lord of 3 so Asc sublord signifies 3 and 9, which show the effort of the querent for foreign Travel. GULBERGA THEORY As per Gulberga theory if Asc sublord of Horary number asked is same as Lagan starlord or Moon starlord of Ruling Planet then the query asked is to be answerd affirmative otherwise not In this case Asc sublord of Horary number is Jup and Lagan starlord of Ruling Planet is also Jup so I told the querrent that he will certainly proceed to foreign country as planned. FULFILLMENT OF DESIRE If the 11 th sublord and its starlord both are in direct motion and are not retrograde position And is significator of relevant houses then the desire of querent is fulfilled In the case under Reference 11 th sublord is Venus is in 3 rd house and it’s in the star of Rahu in 11 Rahu is in The sign of Sat lord of 11 and 12 as 11 th sublord signifies 3, 11 and 12 so desire of querent will be fulfilled. CUSPAL SUBLORD According to K.P astrology if 12 th sublord and its starlord are in direct motion and are not in Retrograde position and is significator of 3,9 or 12 houses then one goes abroad in the joint significators of 3,9 and 12 in this case 12 TH CUSP sublord is Merc in 3 it is in the star of Moon in 12 th lord of 5 hence 12 th sublord Signifies 3 and 12 Hence 12 th sublord is significator of 3 and 12 which is conducive for foreign Travel. Moreover Mercury is also Ruling Planet. 9TH CUSPLORD 30

JASA Vol. 2 (4) Jan-Mar 2013 9 th sublord Sun is in 3 lord of 6 and sun is not having any planet in its star so Sun becomes Strong significator of 9 being cuspal sublord of 9 th house 9 th sublord Sun is in the star of Rahu in 11 it’s in the Sub of Sat lord of 11 and 12 ,So 9 th sublord is significator of 3,9 and 12 Which is conducive for foreign travel. 3RD CUSPAL SUBLORD 3 RD Cusp sublord is Venus is in 3 lord of 2 and 7 its is in the star of Rahu in 11 Rahu is in sign of Sat lord of 11 and 12 it is in sub of Ven in 3 So 3 RD cusp Sublord is significator of 3 and 12 which is conducive for foreign travel Also Venus is a Ruling Planet RULING PLANETS ON 27-6-2008 AT CHANDIGARH AT 3:31PM . LAGAN SIGNLORD VENUS LAGAN STARLORD JUP LAGAN SUBLORD JUP MOON STARLORD MERCURY MOON SUBLORD MARS MOON SIGNLORD JUPITOR DAY LORD VENUS VENUS, JUP, MERC AND MARS ARE THE RULING PLANETS VERIFICATION THROGH MAHADASHA AND BHUKTI DASHA On the day of enquiry on dated 27-6-2008 Mahadasha of Mercury and Bhukti of Mars was Running, MERCURY \ MARS From 29-11-2007 to 25-11-2008. Venus is the occupant of 8 (Hindrances, Difficulties, Obstacles), owner of 3 (Luck, Prosperity of the querent/native) and 8 (Hindrances, Difficulties, Obstacles). Starlord Rahu is the occupant of 8 (Hindrances, Difficulties, Obstacles). Rahu conjoined to Sun who occupied in 9, owner of 6. Sublord Sun is tenanted (there is planet in stars of Saturn) and in star of Saturn (as per KP Rule, If any planet is posited in the stars of the sublord of the cusp, then takes Starlord as a strong significator of that cusp). Here, Saturn (Starlord of Sun) is the occupant of 8 (Hindrances, Difficulties, Obstacles), owner of 11 and 12 (Opponent’s Loss/Expenses). Saturn is conjoined to Venus who occupied in 8 (Hindrances, Difficulties, Obstacles), owner of 3 (Luck, Prosperity of the querent/native) and 8 (Hindrances, Difficulties, Obstacles). Venus signifies 3, 8 in connection with 3, 8, 12. So, recovery of lost money of querent/native is possible. 2nd Cusp (Aries: 06-45-36) for Opponent: The sublord of 2th cusp is Rahu. Rahu is in the star Jupiter(R) and sub of Rahu. Rahu is the occupant of 8 (Hindrances, Difficulties, Obstacles). Starlord Jupiter(R) is the occupant of 3 (Luck, Prosperity of the querent/native), owner of 1 and 10. Sublord Rahu is the occupant of 8 (Hindrances, Difficulties, Obstacles). Rahu conjoined to Sun who occupied in 9, owner of 6. Rahu signifies 3, 8 in connection with 8. So, recovery of lost money of the querent/native possible. Joint Period for Querent/Native and Opponent At the time of judgment running DBA is Rahu-Sun-Venus. Joint Periods will start from 03.11.2012 to 28.12.2012. Rahu signifies 2, 4, 7, 9 in connection with 2 for querent/native. Rahu signifies 3, 8 in connection with 8 for Opponent. Sun signifies 2, 3, 6 in connection with 11 for querent/native. Sun signifies 8, 12 in connection with 5 for Opponent. Venus signifies 2, 3, in connection with 2, 6, 9 for querent/native Venus signifies 3, 8 in connection with 3, 8, 12 for Opponent. From the above analysis following major points should be taken into consideration – (1) Ruling Planets does not strongly signify any losses to querent/native. (2) DBA lords are in favor of querent/native. (3) Although Bhukti lord Sun signifies 6, 9 and 11 in connection with 4 which is in favor of Opponent. But under ruling planets Sun is in sub of Jupiter and Jupiter is Retrograde. Hence, Sun will not strongly fructify the matter. 4. Mercury appeared as strongest a ruling planet which is fast moving in nature. 35

JASA Vol. 2 (4) Jan-Mar 2013 5. At the time of query i.e. day of judgment, Rahu Star is running (Moon transits in Star of Rahu). Rahu is treated a mysterious, deviated as well as distracted planet in astrology. So, recovery is not possible within the time period where Moon transits in the star of Rahu (i.e. upto 23:30 Hrs. on 01.12.2012). Thereafter recovery of lost money is possible within the time period (from 23:31 Hrs., 01.12.2012 to 05:54 Hrs., 05.12.2012) when Moon transits in the stars of Jupiter, Saturn and Moon – all three are present under ruling planets. My Opinion: Recovery of lost money is possible within period 02.12.2012 to 05.12.2012. More specifically – 1. From 23:30 Hrs. on 01.12.2012 to the sun rise time of next day i.e. 06:00 Hrs. on 02.12.2012 (when Day Lord becomes Saturn which is a ruling planet), OR 2. From 06:01 Hrs. on 02.12.2012 to the sun rise time of next day i.e. 06:01 Hrs. on 03.12.2012 (when Day Lord becomes Sun which is a ruling planet), OR 3. On 05.12.2012 (when Day Lord becomes Mercury which is a strong ruling planet) Actual Fact/Conclusion: On 02.12.2012 at morning, the Querent/Native has informed me that lost money issue has been resolved. Actually there is mistake in books of accounts (two cash transactions entries of IN & OUT mistakenly not entered in cash books) and the native/querent found the mistake when Moon has crossed the star of Rahu i.e. around 01:00 AM on 02.12.2012. Learning Facts: 11th CSL Venus has conjoined to Saturn in horary chart. And Saturn is karak planet for mistakes and posited in the star of Rahu. Venus also posited in the star of Rahu. Rahu conjoined to Sun who occupied in 3. 3rd house indicates communication, calculation, memory, writing etc. The issue of lost money resolved after proper communication and deep verification of books of accounts. So, in KP if we go in depth analysis, pin-point prediction can be made successfully. Pranaam to Guruji !

Hearty Welcome to Dr. Kothari On behalf of 11000+ readers of the JASA family spread over more than 83 countries across the world, I extend my hearty welcome and good wishes to Dr. Nirmal Kothari. His current article based on KP astrology showcases the original methods propounded by late K.S. Krishnamurti, which will be an illuminating path for many practitioners of KP. We wish him many years of fruitful association and contribution to JASA

Editor’s Comments Readers to carefully note that Dr. Kothari has correctly and rightfully applied the Moon’s signification in KP Horary to gauge the reflection and genuineness of the querent’s mind apart from other brilliant application of KP principles. In the current Editorial, I have also shown that this has been the method followed by the inventor of KP late KSK also. It is only in few electronic magazines on the net churned out by people having no qualification and background who tries to create deliberate confusion in the minds of readers about the true methods of KP. We salute Dr. Kothari for following the correct KP Methods 36

Vtáx fàâw|xá |Ç cÜxw|và|äx TáàÜÉÄÉzç Marriage Predictions—Part I: Methods in 4 Step Theory Sunil Gondhalekar Sri Sunil Gondhalekar is the inventor of 4 Step Theory. He has also published various books on astrology in Marathi such as ‘Vivaha Yoga’, courses on KP, Nakshatra Sandesh, Nakshatra Prabha, Nakshatra Triveni. Email: [email protected]

I am presenting herewith the series of articles which are published in my Marathi book “Vivah Yoga” for the sake of readers who don’t understand Marathi properly and want to enjoy the results of 4 step theory. Chart no.2: Female D.O.B. :27-06-1971 T.O.B. : 23-38 PM P.O.B.: Thane, 19N12; 72E59 This chart belongs to the second daughter of my good friend (late) Mr.Karulkar. The predictions for the marriage period of his first daughter was perfectly predicted by me hence he has enquired the possible period of marriage of his second daughter. The native was completed her 24th year. And now father was eager to get her married at an earlier date. I have analyzed the chart and told him that the marriage will be late and will be celebrated during year 1998. I have specified the period which was about 3 years ahead. Let’s check how the period was predicted. The native was running Sun Dasa from 6th Sept. 1993to1999. Let’s check the signification of dasalord Sun, it is as follows: PLANET : SUN Itself :-------------- Sun:- 4 7 It's N.Swami :-------- Rahu:- (12) Cusp Yuti: (12)

Rashi-Swami Saturn (3) (1) 12

It's Sub :------------ Saturn:- 3 1 12 It's Sub's N.Swami :-- Sun:- (4) (7) Here Sun signify 7th house on 4th step. Also Rahu conjunct Mars (within orb of 4 degree) hence signify 2 nd house.

38

JASA Vol. 2 (4) Jan-Mar 2013 th The aspect of Mars on seventh house, Uranus is in 7 house indicating the delay in marriage also dasalord signifies negating house such as 4th and 6th (due to Rahu in Moon star) hence I have jumped to Mercury Bhukti which is from 25th June 1997 to 1st May 1998. Now let us check the signification of Mercury which is as follows : PLANET : MERCURY Itself :-------------- Mercury:- 4 5 Cusp Yuti: (5) It's N.Swami :-------- Rahu:- (12)

Cusp Yuti: (12)

Conj.Mars :- (12)(2)(10)9

It's Sub :------------ Mars:- (12) (2) 9 (10) It's Sub's N.Swami :-- Mars:- (12) (2) 9 (10) Here Bhuktilord signifies 2nd house on 2-3-4 step and also supporting house 5th on first step due to near the cusp. Dasalord signifies 7-2 houses and Bhuktilord signifies 2-5 houses so to complete the chain we need such a planet who signifies 11th houses. If you look at the significations of all planets you will find that there are two planets-Mars and Jupiter who signifies 11th house. Let’s check the significations of these planets. PLANET : MARS Itself :-------------- Mars:- (12) (2) 9 (10) It's N.Swami :-------- Mars:- (12) (2) 9 (10) It's Sub :------------ Jupiter:- (9) (11) Cusp Yuti: (9) It's Sub's N.Swami :-- Saturn:- (3) (1) 12

PLANET : JUPITER Itself :-------------- Jupiter:- (9) (11) Cusp Yuti: (9) It's N.Swami :-------- Saturn:- (3) (1) 12 It's Sub :------------ Saturn:- 3 1 12 It's Sub's N.Swami :-- Sun:- (4) (7) Both these planets are capable to give the marriage but to select the perfect one, some may use Ruling planets but myself avoid the use of Ruling planets. In this case myself use Tatwa theory. In this case native is having Kumbha lagna which is a fixed sign indicates second choice hence I selected Jupiter Antara which is operating from 2nd Feb 1998 to 13th March 1998. Mars signifies 3-9 houses indicates the fixation of marriage during antara period. Actually the marriage was celebrated on 16th Feb. 1998. My prediction hits the bulls eye. 39

JASA Now we refer to the next chart.

Vol. 2 (4)

Jan-Mar 2013

Chart no.3-Male D.O.B.:01-06-1968 T.O.B.:13-26 PM P.O.B.: Mumbai; 18N58; 72E50 The native of this chart was not known to me nor it was shown by his relatives but the chart was brought by a person who wants to check marriage proposal for his daughter. This person was known to me. During the judgments the native was running Venus dasa from 4-01-1997 to 2017. And Venus Bhukti was up to 06-05-2000. Venus dasa was started at the age of 29. So decided to check why such delay is observed. The previous dasa was of Ketu and it signifies as follows: PLANET : KETU Itself :-------------- Ketu:- 1

Rashi-Swami Mercury 10 2 11

It's N.Swami :-------- Moon:- (11) 12 It's Sub :------------ Venus:- (9) (3) 10 It's Sub's N.Swami :-- Moon:- (11) 12 Ketu signifies 11th house strongly but it has not offered the marriage. In the chart lord of 7th is Saturn-a delaying planet, and Moon is in Saturn star,7th sub Sun is associated with Mars, Hence marriage period may extend to the age of 28. In actual Ketu/Mercury period was suggesting the marriage period but my Guruji always points out that when dasa is about to end then how the last period will give fructification? One more point was that next dasa of Venus is Karaka for marriage. So let’s check signification of Venus, it is as follows: PLANET : VENUS Itself :-------------- Venus:- (9) (3) 10 It's N.Swami :-------- Moon:- (11) 12 It's Sub :------------ Rahu:- 7

Rashi-Swami Jupiter 12 5 8

It's Sub's N.Swami :-- Mercury:- (10) (2) 11 Dasalord Venus signifies 2-11 houses so Venus dasa, Venus bhukti will be capable to offer the marriage. Now we have to select 7th house to complete the chain. In this case only Mercury signifies 7th house as follows: PLANET : MERCURY Itself :-------------- Mercury:- 10 2 11 It's N.Swami :-------- Rahu:- (7)

Rashi-Swami Jupiter (12) (5) 8 40

JASA It's Sub :------------ Rahu:- 7

Vol. 2 (4) Rashi-Swami Jupiter 12 5 8

Jan-Mar 2013

It's Sub's N.Swami :-- Mercury:- (10) (2) 11 This Mercury antara period was from 4-09-1999 to 4-05-2000.This period was 2years ahead at the time of judgment, but in many cases the chain completes with the help of supportive 5-8 houses. So judging these houses we will find that Moon and Rahu signify 8th house as follows: PLANET : MOON Itself :-------------- Moon:- 11 12 It's N.Swami :-------- Saturn:- (8) (6) 7 Cusp Yuti: (8) It's Sub :------------ Rahu:- 7

Rashi-Swami Jupiter 12 5 8

It's Sub's N.Swami :-- Mercury:- (10) (2) 11

PLANET : RAHU Itself :-------------- Rahu:- 7

Rashi-Swami Jupiter 12 5 8

It's N.Swami :-------- Mercury:- (10) (2) 11 It's Sub :------------ Moon:- 11 12 It's Sub's N.Swami :-- Saturn:- (8) (6) 7 Cusp Yuti: (8) Both Moon and Rahu signifies 2-8 houses and being a fixed lagna sign and Nodes are stronger than the planets,I have selected Rahu Antara which is from 14-03-1998 to 14-09-1998. This native got married on 16-02-1998.This native is a son in law of my friend whose daughter’s chart is discussed as chart no.2 previously. In this case I was surprised that Mercury was the only significator of 7th house doesn’t offered marriage in its Antara period. When we cross-check the chart it is found that marriage was performed in Mars antara and Mercury sookshma, thus completing the chain in sookshma period. Now we will refer to next chart. It was Saturday. I came in office and started my pending works. The Moon star was also of Saturn. A person came to my office for marriage possibility of his daughter. The birth details were as follows: Chart no.4-Female D.O.B.: 28-01-1976 T.O.B.: 03-50 AM P.O.B.: 19N03; 72E52 At the time of judgment (26-06-1999;9-30 AM, Thane)the native was under Venus dasa till 16-022001.Let’s check the signification of Venus, it is as follows: 41

JASA PLANET : VENUS

Vol. 2 (4)

Jan-Mar 2013

Itself :-------------- Venus:- 1 7 11 12 It's N.Swami :-------- Ketu:- (5)

Rashi-Swami Mars (6) 1 5 6

Starlord-Venus (1) (7) (12)11 It's Sub :------------ Jupiter:- 4 2 4 It's Sub's N.Swami :-- Mercury:- (2) 8 (10)

Saturn-Drusht (8) (3)

Venus signify 2-7-5-8 houses strongly. So marriage will be during Venus dasa. At the time of judgment native was running Mercury bhukti from 16-02-1997 to 17-12-1999. Sub lord of 7th is Mars and Mars in 7th house (in lagna chart) indicating delay for marriage so I skipped Mercury bhukti and checked the signification of next Ketu bhukti. It is as follows: PLANET : KETU Itself :-------------- Ketu:- 5

Rashi-Swami Mars 6 1 5 6

It's N.Swami :-------- Venus:- (1) (7) 11 (12) It's Sub :------------ Mercury:- 2 8 10

Saturn-Drusht 8 3

It's Sub's N.Swami :-- Sun:- (2) Here Ketu signifies 2-7 houses and dasalord was signifying 2-7-5-8 houses. Now we have to select such a planet that signifies 11th house to complete the chain. Sun, Rahu and Jupiter were significators of 11th house, since lagna is of fixed sign so I have fixed the second choice of Rahu as antaralord. Signification of Rahu is as follows: PLANET : RAHU Itself :-------------- Rahu:- (11)

Rashi-Swami Venus (1) (7) 11 (12)

It's N.Swami :-------- Jupiter:- (4) 2 4 It's Sub :------------ Mercury:- 2 8 10

Saturn-Drusht 8 3

It's Sub's N.Swami :-- Sun:- (2) Here Rahu signifies 2-7-11 houses, so marriage will be during this anatara period which is from 11-062000 to 14-08-2000. So I predicted this period. In the meantime the querist came to my office with some another fellow and informed me that the engagement ceremony performed in Dec. 1999 and marriage will be celebrated during May-June 2000. As usual the querent has not informed me the date of marriage. But my prediction again gives me success. We will discuss more charts in next series.

I wish you and your family a Very Happy and Prosperous New Year 2013. I am very happy to write this article based on Meena 2 Naadi System on the occasion of Guruji Sri NV Raghava Chary’s Birth Centenary year 2013. The basic of Naadi method spring from the law of resonance related cosmic interactions. Conforming of this immutable law of resonance, all events on this world and nature as a whole are governed by the cosmic force pervading the earth. The approach of the Naadi method in coming to grips with such high level of abstract thought is unique and at present we have some material and principles from Practical Stellar Astrology of Guruji Meena2. Most classical astrological texts have adopted a format under which exhaustive dicta are worked out covering all possible permutation and combinations of cosmic interactions with direct results equated to them true to a model environment conditions. The Naadi method is evolved consisting of a few simple guidelines like linking Nakshatra lord, Nakshatra digbala, Jeeva and Sareera concepts and Gunas. Highly abstract knowledge relating to working of cosmic and karmic forces is simplified by depicting them in easy to grasp symbols. While looking at the system of synchronicity that everything in the Universe is connected, as is the pattern of stars or the planets at the time of birth of a person and one’s personality. In order to develop skill in the use of Naadi guidelines, there is no substitute to practice and more intensive practice. A superficial approach to the guidelines may merely serve to kindle initial interest, only to fade out as fast. Whereas intensive practice of Meena2 system through application pursued to its logical end leads to revealing truth and charges one with proficiency. The Naadi method evolved by ancient sages is oriented to illuminate on fundamental tendencies of the individual and chart timings of ebb and surge of the flow of their tendencies throughout the span of life. The thrust of the Naadi method is to stimulate the process of thinking in logical direction to be able to uncover the basic tendencies and chart the timings when the tendencies get activated. Consequently the Naadi methods give lot of importance to Gunas of Rasis and Nakshatras and also specific kharakathwas for planets and signs. One should get a good grinding in assimilating the subtle significances of the concepts of rasi and gunas and get into grips with the technique of blending the outcome of interactions between karaka planet and concerned cosmic bodies and rasis. The base compound of karakathwas gets modified by virtue of the guna of rasi is which it is placed as per Sri NV Raghava Chary Meena2. Here let us analyse a wonderful principle from Meena2 system: 48

The Bhavathipathi’s Stellar Lord and the Bhava karaka’s Stellar Lord should be well placed in the Chart for beneficial results. – Meena2

Anuradha

Punarvasu Poorvashad In this horoscope the Lord of 7th is Mars who is deposited in the constellation of Punarvasu whose lord is Jupiter. The Sun, is posited in the 7th house in the constellation of Anuradha whose lord is Saturn, who is posited in the 8th house. The Ascendant lord and 6th lord Venus is joined with Saturn and Jupiter in 8th house. Kalathra Karaka Venus is in his own constellation at Sagittarius and is with Jupiter and Saturn, we can note here that the lord of 7th house Mars posited in Gemini is aspecting the combination of Jupiter, Venus and Saturn and these aspects are mutual. The 7th Bhava lord Mars posited in 2nd house given marriage but it had given the 8th house result of difficulties to marriage. Since Mars is in Jupiter’s constellation and Jupiter is posited in 8th house. The 7th Occupant the Sun is in the constellation of Saturn who is posited in 8th house. The occupant linked to 8th house had also given difficulties to marriage. This combination (Bhava lord and Occupant) had given divorce to the native but he could marry another person simply because the karaka for marriage Venus had connection with 7th occupant and 7th Bhava lord Mars. The powerful influence of Lagna lord and karaka Venus and the mutual aspect of 7th Bhava lord and karaka Venus helped the native to go for second marriage. The ancient maharishis who had propounded the rules of astrology by their divine sight or divya drishti. We are blessed that we have some of the rules for our practice and we should be ever thankful to Sage Satya Charya, Meena1 and Meena2 for their contribution in developing Stellar Astrology. A harmonious blending of the theoretical knowledge with practical ability is always desirable to guide human society in a positive way. The chart is being analyzed from the point of view of conventional norms of KP along with LSPs as follows: Analysis by conventional KP norms The Query The mental setup of the native is judged through Moon. Moon is found to be placed in 7th house as 12th lord and thus poses the native undergoing a discarded marital life. Moon is in Rahu’s star, thus he feels cheated. Lagna sub-lord Venus is the sub-lord of 1-5-9 cusp as well, thus the native (1st cusp) seems open to remain attached (5th cusp) to the marriage and is awaiting the favor of spouse (9th cusp). Looking to the disposition of Lagna and Moon, the horary chart seemed to be genuine and it was safe to proceed further. Co-ordinates of Judgment In a query for harmonious life with wife; Lagna and 7th cusp must get involved with the 11th house to indicate the promise in the chart. The fructification of the desire to stay with family may be realized only if the 11th cusp indicates its linkage with the Lagna, 7th house without getting linked to the adverse houses. From LSP point of view, Punya LSP is relevant from the point of view of luck that the native has in realizing his desires. The Punya LSP would need to positively supplement Asha LSP to fructify the desire. Vivaha LSP may be relevant to assess the quality of marital life and its status at present. In case, if some misfortunes are expected on the way, Kali LSP may be assessed to pinpoint where does it find its place. Likewise, the scope of other LSPs comes in as and when the desired matter at hand is required to be assessed.

JASA Analysis of the Chart

Vol. 2 (4)

Jan-Mar 2013

Look for the promise in the horary chart from various angles: 

Note that Venus holds its say on the matters of the native, wife and the marital harmony because it lords 1-5-9th cusps. Venus is lord of 3rd house and gets placed in 5th house in own star, sub and sub-sub. Thus, the placement of Venus is taken as good to indicate the desire of harmony in life.

Look to the 3rd cusp that indicates the communication of the native towards his spouse. 3rd cuspal sublord is Mercury which is retrograde, showing that he is reserved in communication, helpless and or he is being misunderstood by the spouse. Mercury is strong 11th lord and is placed in its own star that again shows blocked communication from his side for the spouse. Venus as the sub-lord of Mercury placed in 5th house does shows some respite towards continuing marriage.

Looking from the point of view of wife, 7th sub-lord is retro Mercury that shows the confused state of the spouse. Mercury’s sub-lord Venus falling in 11th house from 7th cusp shows the inclination of the wife to continue the marriage.

Whether the desire of staying together in harmony is going to be realized or not may be seen from the 11th cusp. Ketu is the sub-lord of the 11th cusp. Ketu disposes Venus by way of its placement in the sign of Venus. As noted earlier, Venus is the sub-lord of 1-5-9th cusps and is placed in 5th house which is the fruitful situation for both the native and his spouse. Ketu is in the star of 12th lord Moon that shows the matter of marital discord. This gets more evident by way of Ketu falling in quadrant to Mars. Note that Venus as sub-lord of Ketu is placed in 5th house that shows the marriage to continue even if discord persists. Looking at the above, it was concluded that the marriage would continue.

Analysis by LSP principles Refer my article in inaugural issue of JASA for the concept and usage of LSPs. The analysis of LSPs would throw more light to the chart. 1. Calculate Punya LSP (PLSP) to assess the luck Due to the Prashna assessment in night hours, the Punya LSP is calculated by the formula (Sun -Moon + Lagna). By the manipulation of the longitudes, the Punya LSP (PLSP) falls in Aries 28-29-30 (dm-s) lorded by Sign lord Mars, Star lord Sun, Sub-lord Mars and Sub-sub lord Rahu. Note as follows. a. Punya LSP falls in the 9th house, thus the string is in the hands of spouse to give her nod to continue the marriage. Being placed in 9th house, it also shows luck carried in the Prashna that seems OK for marriage ongoing. b. Mars is the sub-lord of Punya LSP and its placement in Lagna does speak of the anger that the native has. c. At the stellar level, Mars falls in the star of Venus placed in 5th house, but its sub-lord Sun falls in 4th house stalling the peace initiatives. Here, note that without having any planet in its star, Sun is a strong planet and its placement in 4th house does not allow the mutual accord to proceed further. Since 4th house is 10th from the 7th house, spouse may be seemingly determined on maintaining the discord. On further close look, Sun is conjunct with Rahu in the same sign and there is no wonder that the Rahu would 52

JASA

Vol. 2 (4) Jan-Mar 2013 overpower all the conjoined planets and would bring in the element of cheating and deceit from the wife’s side. Thus, the native does not carry with him the luck and punya for family harmony and may be tormented by the deceit from the spouse’s side.

2. Calculate Asha LSP (ALSP) to assess the desire and aspirations. Due to the Prashna assessment in night hours, the Asha LSP is calculated by the formula (Mars Saturn + Lagna). By the manipulation of the longitudes, the Asha LSP falls in Gemini 14-55-43 (d-ms) lorded by Sign lord Mercury, Star lord Rahu, Sub-lord Ketu and Sub-sub lord Jupiter. Note as follows. a. Asha LSP falls in the 11th house, thus the desire and aspiration of good family life fits the question. It may get modified by the further linkages. b. Ketu is the sub-lord of Asha LSP and as studied while discussing 11th cusp, it may like to continue the marriage amidst discord. c. Note the linkage between Punya LSP and Asha LSP i. ii.

Sub-lord of Punya LSP (Mars) falls in the sub-sub lordship of Ketu that lords Asha LSP as its sub-lord. Both are lorded by Rahu as sub-sub lord. This is more determinative.

The linkage of these LSPs keeps the marriage going, though Rahu brings in the element of shocks and deceit. 3. Calculate Vivaha LSP to check the quality of marital life. Due to the Prashna assessment in night hours, the Vivaha LSP is calculated by the formula (Saturn Venus + Lagna). By the manipulation of the longitudes, the Vivaha LSP falls in Taurus 19-06-04 (dm-s) lorded by Sign lord Venus, Star lord Moon, Sub lord Mercury and Sub-sub lord Rahu. Note as follows. d. Vivaha LSP falls in the 10th house, thus the marriage harmony is in doldrums and it could gradually be leading towards discord of significant nature. 10th house causes discord by denying 11th house. e. Sub-lord of Vivaha LSP is Retro Mercury that blocks any progress towards harmony. f. Rahu as sub-sub lord destroys marital harmony and wife may be contemplating a list of uneasy demands behind the scene (Rahu). Rahu does not provide any scope of marital amicability. Thus, the marriage felicity and family life is presently under discord state. 4. Calculate Santap LSP (SaLSP) that shows the area of miseries. This LSP shows how the miseries manifest in life. Due to the Prashna assessment in night hours, the Santap LSP is calculated by the formula (Moon Saturn + 6th Cusp). By the manipulation of the longitudes, the Santap LSP falls in Taurus 17-51-31 (dm-s) lorded by Sign lord Venus, Star lord Moon, Sub lord Mercury and Sub-sub lord Mercury. 53

JASA Note as follows.

Vol. 2 (4)

Jan-Mar 2013

a. Santap LSP falls in 10th house of marital discord. It is expected that there could have been constant dialogues of breaking marriage. 10th house is the family of the spouse, thus In-laws of the native may be triggering the marital discord. b. Mercury is the sub-lord and sub-sub lord of Santap LSP and by way of the sub-lordship of 11th cusp it manifests more on the lines of disagreements and discord. Retrogression of Mercury does not show the matter of harmony on any line of progress. The misery originates in the family of the spouse with which she is overpowered and is not agreeing to sort out the matter.

5. Calculate Kali LSP (KLSP) that shows the area of suffering and misfortune Due to the Prashna assessment in night hours, the Kali LSP is calculated by the formula (Mars Jupiter + Lagna). By the manipulation of the longitudes, the Kali LSP falls in Sagittarius 09-30-34 (dm-s) lorded by Sign lord Jupiter, Star lord Ketu, Sub lord Saturn and Sub-sub lord Saturn. Note as follows. a. Kali LSP falls in 5th house of family harmony, meaning that the suffering and misfortune lies in the domain of family harmony. b. Saturn is the sub-lord and sub-sub lord of Kali LSP placed in 3rd house. This has many connotations. 3rd house is 12th to the 4th house, thus the family members of the native may also not be interested in this marriage ongoing. 3rd house also means that the misfortune lies in the way the native communicates thereby the native is not understood at all. On the top of everything, Saturn is expected to delay and prolong the matter for any conclusion towards harmony. c. At the stellar level, Saturn falls in the star of Mars and sub of Ketu. Since, Ketu lords the 11th cusp, the marriage may have to continue amidst atmosphere of discord. Thus, while the marriage amicability is denied, yet the marriage may continue. Dasha results Take a cursory glance on the dasha result.  

Rahu dasha runs up to January 2014 within which a part of Moon and Mars antardashas are pending. As studied earlier, Rahu dasha as a whole and especially in Mars AD would not be a happy time frame for any amicability. The next dasha is of Jupiter for 16 years. Jupiter is a strong planet placed in 9th house and may improve quality of talks between the couple. Though, Jupiter is retro but since it is not placed in any retro planet’s star or sub-lord, it may not harm as much. Looking closely, Jupiter is in the sub of Rahu that does not allow Jupiter to do any good and the good delivery from Jupiter is also blocked.

Conclusion The overall indications of marital harmony in this prashna are not seen straightaway, though some threads are available for felicity. The LSPs have thrown a lot of light on the quality of marital life and the areas of sufferings, miseries and misfortunes etc. The dasha spread does not show any solution to the marital discord ongoing, though the couple may not separate.

54

JASA Vol. 2 (4) Jan-Mar 2013 The native was communicated that he would stay in the marriage amidst a lot of constraint and he should face the discord as everyday’s part of life. The facts of the case After, the conclusion was communicated to the native, he mentioned that he had faced hatred from his wife since the time they married. The matter was much aggravated presently and she talks of separation and fat sum of alimony. He patiently heard the assessment and affirmed that the chances were far apart for any marital amicability, though he would try continuing the marriage. Acknowledgement The KP principles are infallible and are crystal clear, although, they require genuine efforts for understanding and application. The efficacy of LSPs in KP domain ever proves to be valuable that provide sound second opinion to the KP dictate. Prof. Krishnamurti has devised a pioneering predictive model in astrology, which deserves sincere appreciation.

Ardra is the sixth star in the lunar constellation. Its presiding deity is Rudra. Ardra means wetness. The Purana-s say Rudra removes distress. When we are distressed, we shed tears. Tears indicate wetness and wetness denotes Ardra. This explains the link between Ardra and Rudra. Ardra remains solely in the sign Gemini. The four quarters of Ardra can fall in the sign of either Jupiter or Saturn in navamsa. A person born under the star Ardra will be intelligent, magnanimous and perseverant; will also bear a sense of equality and patience. A person born in Ardra will be unhelpful. They are sadistic in outlook. They adopt wrongful ways in achieving their goals. When provoked they tend to get angry and turn revengeful. They are always after others’ wealth. They can hurt others by their speech. However people born in the fourth quarter of Ardra are philanthropic, since Moon occupies Pisces in navamsa. According to Jataka Parijata, people born in Ardra are poor and run after sensual pleasures due to wavering mind. They will possess a huge body frame and remain basal in their instincts. The person born in the first quarter of Ardra will be a spendthrift ;a person born in the second quarter will be poor; one born in the third quarter will not live long; and one born in the fourth quarter will earn money through wrongful means. People born in Ardra acquire enmity by their egoistic ways. They usually will be ungrateful and jealous. Due to vedha dosha that operates between Ardra and Sravana stars, a person born in Ardra ought not to marry a person born in Sravana star. A girl born in Ardra can marry a boy born in Sadabhishek star but should not marry a boy born in Swati; some say that persons born in Ardra, Swati and Sadabhishek should not inter se marry one another. While Ardra is an unfavorable star for specific agricultural purposes such as ploughing, sowing seeds, and planting, it is good for harvesting. For making investments in sectors such as real estate or stock market Ardra is beneficial . Ardra is an inauspicious star for conducting chowla (the first tonsure ceremony of a child). Generally hair cutting should be avoided on a day ruled by Ardra as this is supposed to usher grief. To catch a criminal, the police should begin their mission on a day ruled by Ardra. Other stars for such missions are Ashwini, Rohini, Aslesha, Poorvaphalguni, Chitra, Visakha, Moola, Uttarashada and Revati. 56

Ear piercing, as a samskara, is supposed to have impact on the meridians of the body and an auspicious moment should be chosen for this samksara. Usually the ears of a child are pierced on either the 12th or the 16th day from the day of birth. Ardra is a suitable day for ear piercing according to the Muhurtha treatise Kalaprakasika, while Muhurtha Chintamani pledges a dissent.Ardra is a favourable star for commencement of education Cutting and polishing of gems can be done on a day ruled by Ardra. Any acute aliment or fever which commences on Ardra will prove problematic and will require rapid medical attention; otherwise death can ensue. Ardra is suitable for dental treatment and cosmetic surgery. Ardra is a favorable star for initiation into a mantra but is unsuitable for travel. It is a suitable star for setting up missiles or taking up arms either in defence or in offence. Here again Muhurtha Chintamani takes a contrary view. In the month of Marghashira (December―January) , the full moon day will usually be on Ardra star. Ardra star in that month is a holy day for Hindus. Thiruvaadirai is one popular vrata followed by Hindus. This is the day ruled by Ardra star in the month of Maargasirsha. Ardra is considered as the star of Lord Nataraja (Siva's cosmic dancer form) and is observed in the Tamil month of Margazhi (December – January). It is essentially a Hindu festival and celebrates the cosmic dance of Lord Shiva, which is represented by the Nataraja form. The cosmic dance of Siva represents the key five events in human life: creation, protection, destruction, embodiment and release. It summarily represents the continuous cycle of creation and destruction, studded with other integrated events. This cosmic cycle occurs in every particle and is the source of all energy. It will fall on the full moon night in Margasirsha . An important venue for this annual event is the Siva Temple at Chidambaram in Tamil Nadu. Most of the Siva temples around the world, with Nataraja as one of the deities celebrate this occasion. The story goes that once when Mahavishnu was lying on the great serpent Adisesha, the latter felt that Mahavishnu was heavy. When asked Mahavishnu clarified that He was recalling and enjoying the Dance of Lord Shiva. Thus arose the desire in Adisesha to witness the Cosmic Dance of Lord Shiva. He asked Mahavishnu how his desire could be fulfilled. Mahavishnu asked him to go to Chidambaram and do a penance. Adhisesha came to Chidambaram and prayed to the Lord for a long time. There was another Sage and devotee of Lord Shiva in that place, called Vyaagrapaadha. He prayed to God to get the legs of a tiger, so that he could climb trees and pluck flowers to offer to the God, before any bee touches the flower. He was also praying God to see His Great Dance for a long time. Pleased with their prayer the God appeared on the Thiruvaadhirai day and danced in Chidambaram. On the morning of Thiruvadhirai one offers his/her salutations to Nataraja. One key food item prepared on this day is Thiruvadirai-k-kali and a side dish made with the tubers of kavathu (vettrilaivalli; Dioscorea esculenta) and avarai-k-kai. The notable point is that these two food items are only prepared on Ardra Darshan day. For those interested in knowing how to prepare this recipe, the culinary formula is given in the form of an annexure to this article.

Introduction Recently, my Uncle passed away in a better existence by cancer disease in date 26 November 2012. He felt sick at the beginning of November so I decided to make an analysis looking at his natal chart rated AA for exact length of life using my excel sheet built for KP Pam theory. By Email, readers have request me to give explanation for the length of life calculation with the excel sheet, so I decided to write this brief article for the benefit of readers.

Table -1 Significations

Vol. 2 (4)

Jan-Mar 2013

Note: Significations are without cuspal sub lord and used only for KP Pam -2 calculation.

RULES for KP Pam-1 1): Comb= 1,3,5,10,9,11 = good 2):Comb=6,8,12,4 = neutral ( 6,8,12 are bad, but 6 disease, 8 incident & 12 hospital you can survive) . 3):Comb= maraca & bhadaka = BAD 4): Only signs significations are used . 5): Cuspal of cups significations should not be used. 6): aspects of Saturn 3rd & 10th, aspects of Jubiter 5th & 9th , aspects of Mars 4th & 8th should be considered, rest of the planets 7th asp accepted & for nodes no aspect is considered. *7): Aspects are considered, by two fast planets orb up to 5°degree and by two slow planets orb up to 3°20 degree. If a slow planet conjoin or aspect a fast planet considered orb up to 5°degree , if a fast planet conjoin or aspects a slow planet considered orb up to 3°20 degree. Nods are always in aspect even if orb is not up to 5°degrees. Aspects on cups are considered only as last signification with orb up to 3°20 degree. If there is combination of rule 2 and 3 gives short life, if combination of 2 and 1 gives long life ,if combination of 1 and 3 gives middle life , if combination of only 2 gives middle life, only 1 gives long life and only 3 gives short life. The analysis alone of planet, star and sub should be done , then look at the formula of table A for longevity and if all different ,take the sub as final . *Note: Depends if the analysis is for a slow or a fast planet in that moment.

Analysis for KP Pam one First cup sub lord is Venus in Jubiter star and Saturn sub. Planet in Star in sub Venus Jubiter Saturn 3,4,8 asp 10 cup 1,5,10 asp 9 cup 11,12 Conj Mo: 4,5 asp by Ma: 1,2,9 L M L = from 65,4 to 100y Excel Sheet Table-2 for KP Pam two

Vol. 2 (4)

Jan-Mar 2013

At this point I have pressed the button L-M-L and in automatic appeared the possible period of Pam-1 from 65,4 to 100 years. It also gave me the combinations for the next step for the Pam-2 calculation = C, D and E , that was calculated by hand. In table two in the excel sheet you will see the good and bad houses for every combination here on the top, so I started the calculations. C : good = 33 and bad = 18 and longevity was 77,65 = 78 years. D: good = 33 and bad= 11 and longevity was 90 years. KP Pam -2 = From 78 to 90 was the second block in this personal case. My Uncle was 80 years old and the combination :C = 78 y was quite accurate and very close to his actual age so I thought it was the end of his life and the prediction unfortunately came true. Note: software used KP Starone ( Free software) Conclusions In my humble experience when I calculate exact longevity for someone I combine different methods and systems for example , KP traditional , KP Pam-1 and 2, lifespan revolution (tropical),traditional medieval - Greek - Arab methods and you will come very close , but for a rough calculation this method is sufficient and accurate. I hope, the use of the excel sheet will be more clear for readers and also wish that someone could make the excel sheet more complete and professional ? I will appreciate it. 64

U|ÄÄxà WÉâå Dear Dutta ji, Sadar Parnam! Thank you for publishing my letter. Please convey my Happy New Year 2013 wishes to all the readers. May God bless you for your great effort. Best regards N. Modi, Mehsana Dear Mr. Indrajit, Since last couple of issues of your highly esteemed journal we are not finding Sri Subhash Ekatare ji’s research articles. It is always good to see and read his articles. Please include them in next issues. Thanks to you. Anup Agarwal, Delhi Dear Dr Andrew , Greetings I have just gone through the esteemed magazing "JASA" and was amazed to see you congratulating me for Obama victory .. Please take note that subsequent to posting in MK Vishwanath's list, due to my own unfavourable time, I took a different view in another list pinning hopes that Me the subperiod ruler as well its dispositor Sat both in retromode (double negative one affirmative) could nullify the 6/8 effect between the Dashalord and subperiod lord and this could certainly result in Mitt Romney victory . This was the stand taken by me even 24 hrs prior to the election date in Teresa's list . The bottom line is I FAILED MISERABLY IN PREDICTING OBAMA VICTORY as such I am NOT entitled for the Congrats of your good-self Assuring you of my cooperation all times and THANKING YOU once again for the confidence reposed on me. Best Regards Pranav BTW You may please publish this mail of mine in letters to editors column of the forthcoming issue of JASA

The Editor apologises to all the readers for inadvertent miscommunication.
